Lester Dana Boney, Sr. of Townsend, DE passed away on Tuesday July 27, 2010 at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
He was 70.
Mr. Boney was born September 26, 1939 in Wilmington, NC the son of the late Ernest and Isabel Spearman Boney.
He retired after 38 years of service as a Freight Conductor for Norfolk Southern in Philadelphia, PA.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and reading, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his kids and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Boney; 5 sons, Lester D. Boney, Jr., and his wife JoMae of Camden, DE, David L. Boney, Sr., and his wife Nancy of Dover, DE, Dwayne A. Boney, Sr., and his wife Lupe of Smyrna, DE, Dean R. Boney and his wife Samantha of Townsend, DE, and Dale E. Boney and his wife Rebecca also of Townsend; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Schneider and her husband Roger of Townsend; and 8 grandchildren, David, Brian, Stephanie, Ashley, Dwayne, Jr., Bethany, Alyssa, and Carson.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday August 2, 2010 at 11:30 am in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, DE. Funeral services will be offered at 12:30 pm.
Burial services will be held 2 pm in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to The Heritage Foundation, 214 Massachusetts Ave., N.E., Washington, DC 20002-4999.
Hughes, Edward L.
Army
Edward Longfellow Hughes of Kenton, Delaware passed away at home Wednesday April 7, 2010.
He was 90.
Mr. Hughes was born March 13, 1920 in the family home in Kenton to the late Edward and Elizabeth Cooper Hughes.
He was a self-employed farmer in the Kenton area for most of his life.
Mr. Hughes was a United States Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 354th Infantry in the European Theatre.
He was involved in the liberation of Buchenwald concentration camp and the Battle of the Bulge.
He received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service.
Mr. Hughes was also a charter member and Past Commander of V.F.W. Post #8801.
He was an active member of the Kenton Ruritan Club for over 50 years and took great pride and pleasure in the organization and received a tribute from the Delaware Senate for his long and faithful service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Louise Hughes and Claire Conley and two brothers, David and Richard Hughes.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sara Ranshaw Hughes; three daughters, Margaret E. Hughes of High Point, NC, Susan Hughes Swann and her husband Steven of Clayton, DE and Martha Hughes Widing and her husband, Chris of Still Pond, MD; two grandchildren, Christine Bailey and Jared Rochester; a great granddaughter, Sara Bailey and a sister, Elizabeth Arnold.
Services will be Tuesday April 13, 2010 at 11am in the Kenton United Methodist Church, West Commerce Street Kenton, DE.
Friends may call Sunday April 11, 2010 from 1-3pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, DE .
Burial will be in Bryn Zion Cemetery near, Kenton, DE.

Wright, Eleanor Norris
Eleanor Norris Wright, of Lewes, and formerly of Smyrna, died on Sunday October 24, 2010 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 83.
She was born September 2, 1927 in Dover, DE, the daughter of the late Carroll F. Norris and Evelyn G. Norris.
She was educated in the Felton-Caesar Rodney School District, and had been a homemaker.
She moved to Lewes in 2001 after the death of her husband of 50 years, George D. Wright.
She enjoyed the beach, reading, cooking and entertaining friends and family. She loved working at Two Friends in Lewes, and making new friends. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and will be remembered for her fun light-hearted spirit.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Dr. Mario DiSabatino, of Lewes; her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan H. and Judy Wright, of Smyrna; four grandchildren, Taryn Burris and husband Jason Burris, of Lewes; Matt DiSabatino and wife Ali, of Lewes; Justin Wright, of Clayton; and Candace Wright of Clayton; five great-grandchildren, Gannon and Evan Burris; Mya, Julia, and Mitchell DiSabatino, all of Lewes.
All friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life on Friday October 29, 2010 at 11:30 AM at the Lewes Yacht Club, 2701 Cedar St., Lewes, DE.
Private interment will be held in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

Teresa V. Taggart
Age 93 passed away, surrounded by her family, at her residence on Woodlawn Avenue, February 8, 2002.
Wife of the late Harold L. Taggart, Mrs. Taggart is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Jane C. Schofield and Sister M. Jamesanne, OSF, 5 sons, Harol d J., Joseph M., Rev. John L., Robert J., and J. Casey; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A lifelong member of St. Ann's parish, Mrs. Taggart was also a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, the Sodality of St. Ann's and the Diocesan Mother's Guild. After the death of her husband in 1960, Mrs. Taggart worked for the State of Delaware and Wanamakers. She loved feeding her family, cleaning her church and rooting on the Phillies.
Family and Friends will gather at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek on Monday evening February 11 from 5-8. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church, Gilpin Avenue and Union St. on Tuesday morning, February 12 at 11. Following Mass, burial rites will be prayed at All Saints Cemetery, where the body of Mrs. Taggart will rest next to that of her husband.

Florence Tancredi (Lepkowski)
Age 73, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital.
Florence worked as a custodian for Shapdale in Delaware Trust Bldg. 9th & Market Sts., and in the cafeteria at the Wilmington DuPont Shop on Maryland Ave.
She was a member of St. Hedwig's R. C. Church, Gilpin Hall on Gilpin Ave. & VanBuren Sts., and Claymore Senior Center on Clayton & Sycamore Sts.
Florence enjoyed ceramics, having her hair done, polish music, having family and friends over at Christmas time, baking cakes and speaking polish.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony J. Lepkowski and Sophia Kadlubowska; her brothers and sisters, Anthony, Stanley, Edward, Jenny Gryzbowski, Mary Magill, Tessie Houghton, and Helen McElrone. She is survived by her husband, Francis Tancredi; son, Anthony F. Tancredi and companion Kathy of Pike Creek; sister, Irene Fox of Lewes; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Sat. July 29th at 10 a.m. Friends may call after 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
