Rigo, John V.

Army

John V. Rigo passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 82.

John was born on December 24, 1927 in New York City, NY, son of the late Augustin and Juana Enrique.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. His working career included watch repair and working at AT&T; Bell Labs. He loved woodworking, especially making toy rocking horses.

John was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Marydel Council, and the VFW.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth J. Rigo, six children Diane Renna and her husband Peter of Franklin, NJ, Cynthia Morofsky and her husband Barry of Coral Springs, FL, Paul Spinella and his companion Maureen Haggerty of Rahway, NJ, Dianne Profetto and her husband Dan of Jackson, NJ, Lisa Burke and her husband Mike of Vienna, VA and Denise Michael and her husband Rich of Parsippany, NJ, 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2-4 pm Sunday, December 19 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Monday, December 20 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association, 100 West 10th St. Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.

Hudson, Sr., Henry L.

Marines

Henry L. Hudson, Sr. of Felton, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Delaware Hospice House, Milford. He was 74.

Henry was born on July 16, 1936 in Louisville, KY, son of the late James and Tona (Fitzpatrick) Hudson.

He served his country proudly in the U. S. Marines and was honorably discharged.

Henry moved to Delaware when General Foods moved from New York state. He worked there until his retirement, 37 years later.

He was a member of the Elks of Dover, the Moose Lodge of Harrington and the VFW of Dover. He enjoyed collecting antiques and going to the Harrington and Dover slots.

Henry is also preceded in death by two brothers James, Stewart, a sister Barbara, and a step granddaughter Sammie Newton.

He is survived by three sons Henry L. Hudson, Jr. and his wife Linda of Felton, Jeffery A. Hudson and his wife Beth of Felton and Timothy W. Hudson and his wife Tacy of Johnson City, TN, grandchildren Heaven Jackson, Zoe Hudson, Rachael, Jeffery, Joel and Adam Hudson, step daughters Lisa Hutson, Abbey Masten and Christine Mosley, step son Andrew Courtney, step grandchildren Cassidy Courtney, Carlee Courtney and Faith Farrell, two brothers Farrell Hudson of TX and Lewis Hudson of NY and a sister Marlien Burke of CA and many friends.

A memorial service will be 1 pm Saturday, December 18, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Burial will be at a later date in New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Rd., Milford, DE 19963.

Johnson, Christopher

Christopher Johnson, 48, went home to be with the Lord after a short stay at Kent General Hospital.

He resided at Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna.

Christopher is preceded in death by his father Grandville Johnson, Sr., a sister Victoria Johnson Jarvis, brothers Michael, Keenan and twin Charlie Johnson all of Montclair, NJ.

He is survived by his mother Ruth Phyliss Lawrence of Dover, two sisters Valarie Johnson of Orange, NJ, Stephanie Freeman and her husband Rev. Anthony Freeman of Dover, two brothers Grandville and Bruce Lawrence of Newark, N, two sisters-in-law Angie Johnson and Patsy Johnson both of Montclair, NJ and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be 7:00 pm Thursday, December 16 at the First Pilgrim Baptist Church, 6 Miles Lane, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Everett, Jr., Lewis W.

Army

Lewis W. "Dickie" Everett, Jr. of Farmington, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011 in Kent General Hospital. He was 69.

He was born on September 23, 1941 in Lewes, Delaware, son of the late Martha Ann and Lewis W. Everett, Sr.

Dickie served his country proudly in the United States Army before transferring to the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He completed with 20 years service retiring with the rank of Tech Sargeant.

He graduated from the 6th Municipal Class at the Delaware State Police training academy in 1973. Dickie worked his way through the ranks to become Chief of Police of the Camden-Wyoming Police Department, where he retired in 1994. He then worked for Webb Paving and most recently for Jonny Nichols Landscaping.

He enjoyed surf fishing, archery, camping, and NASCAR. The love of his life were his family and grandchildren.

Dickie was a life member of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company and a member of the VFW.

He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Thomasena Golden and Thomas (Tucky) Derrickson.

Dickie is survived by his wife of 24 years Marcia Everett, siblings Esther Wirth, Thelma Butler, Herby Everett, Josephine Parsons and Barbara Lane, three sons Aaron Jester and his wife Jackie, Ian Arias and Melchor Arias, four daughters Stephanie Jester and her husband Joe, Tracy Sargent and her husband Fran, Debbie Carter and her husband Richard and Denise Kowinski, grandchildren Anabella, Giada, Dimiana, Elijah, Malachi, Tyler, Zach, Jason, Christen, Taylor, Noah, Jeremy and Tyler and a host of nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be 6-9 pm Friday, January 18 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Service will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 22 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company, P.O. Box 186, Camden-Wyoming, DE 19934.

Mielke, Arthur Dale

Navy

Arthur D. "Dale" Mielke passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Kent General Hospital. He was 80.

Dale was born on May 22, 1930 in Lawrence County, PA, son of the late Irene (Cochran) and Reinhold Mielke. He was preceded by three brothers and a sister.

He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Dale was a retired long-distance truck driver, and longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting and bowling. He loved the mountains in Pennsylvania where he would spend his summer months.

Dale is survived by a daughter Cynthia Moore and her husband Robert of Camden, a son Timothy Mielke and his wife Linda of New Castle, PA, five grandchildren Kristen and Adam Barnes, Matthew Francis and Alexis Moore all of Dover, Amanda and Bert Gerstnecker of Freedom, PA and Timothy Mielke of New Castle, PA and a great granddaughter Madeline Francis and his companion Phyllis Tarburton of Dover and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be 7 pm Wednesday, January 19 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will be private in Oak Park Cemetery, New Castle, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in Dale's honor to the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation, 105 N. Front St., Suite 305, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
