Kachmar, Theodore J.
Theodore (Ted) J. Kachmar, "Poppy", 82, of Wilmington passed away on Saturday January 30, 2010 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. Kachmar was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Anna (Tyratska) and Charles Kachmar. He was employed at the DuPont Company's Wilmington Shops for forty years as a precision machinist, retiring in 1983. Ted was a graduate of Brown Vocational and he received an American Legion Certificate of Schooling award in 1942 at Bancroft Junior High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He was wed to Eleanor Brewster on May 9, 1953 at St. Peter's in New Castle. Ted was a Cub Scout Committeeman and a longtime parishioner of St. Matthew's Church where he was one of the original Eucharist Ministers.
Ted had a fondness for 'big band' music and the pop crooners of the 40's and 50's. For many years, he also enjoyed summer vacations with his family at the New Jersey shore.
Ted will be dearly remembered as a humble, honest, caring, modest and meticulous man with a subtle wit and a lifelong healthy appetite for good food, especially Ukrainian cuisine, that belied his slim physique.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his siblings Michael, Stephen, John, Charles, Mary, Anna and Helen.?
Ted is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor; his sons, Ted and his wife, Cheryl of Newark, Stephen M., of Wilmington, Joseph P. and his wife, Helen of Elkton, MD; his daughter, Marian E. Jackson and her husband, Donald of Wilmington and his grandchildren, Andrew, Alexandria and Lauren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Matthews Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Woodcrest, where friends may call after 9:30 AM. Entombment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to either St. Matthews Church 3 Curtis Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19804 or the Michael J. Mary E. Kaczmarczyk
Age 75 of Hockessin, DE died February 3, 2003 in the Christiana Hospital.
Mrs. Kaczmarczyk worked at the Penny Hill Deli for 35 years and owned and operated the deli for 20 years, retiring in 1993. She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth High School and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters and great granddaughter, and time at the beach.
She is survived by her son, Henry E. Kaczmarczyk and his wife, Sandy of Hockessin, DE; her brother, James R. O'Connor and his wife, Shirley of Lewes, DE; her granddaughters, Jennifer Grunza and her husband, Michael, Heather Kaczmarczyk and Holly Simpson and her husband, James; and her great granddaughter, Madelyn Grunza.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 7 at 11 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2503 Centerville Rd., Wilmington. Entombment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Lancaster Ave. & Dupont St. Friends may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek on Friday morning, February 7 from 9:30-10:30.
Kaiser, Charles F.
Charles F. Kaiser, 87, of Dagsboro, DE formerly of Romney, WV passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Harrison House in Georgetown, Delaware.
Mr. Kaiser was born on May 23, 1920 in Cumberland, Maryland to the late Charles and Clara Ash Kaiser.
Mr. Kaiser was a machinist at Vitro Automation in Silver Spring, MD for over 20 years, prior to that he worked for Hercules in Pinto, WV.
Mr. Kaiser was a member of Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Millsboro. He was a member of the Millsboro Senior Center and participated in many bowling leagues back in West Virginia as well as in Millsboro. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a good mechanic, great carpenter and machinist. Mr. Kaiser was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Mauk Kaiser in May 1986 and his second wife, Margaret Steele Kaiser in January 2003.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on 11:00 AM at Mary Mother of Peace Roman Catholic Church, SR 24, Oak Orchard, near Millsboro, Del.
Viewing will be Thursday from 5 - 7:00 PM and Friday from 9 - 10 AM at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, Delaware.
Interment with honors at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Patriots Way, Millsboro, Delaware.

Jackewicz, Bertha B
Bertha Jackewicz, 78, of Dover died Monday, Jan. 10 at Capital Nursing Home. Born May 28, 1926, in Riverhead, NY, she was the daughter of Bruno and Althea Bobinski. A graduate of Riverhead High School, Bertha worked as an operator for Bell Telephone Company until her marriage in 1949. In 1953, she and her husband Anthony moved to Dover, DE where they operated Round Barn Farms on South Little Creek Road.
Blessed with a kind, compassionate nature, Mrs. Jackewicz was a homemaker who was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Mrs. Jackewicz was preceded in death by Anthony, her husband of 31 years. She is survived by her three sons and their familles, Anthony and Melissa Jackewicz and their children, Jason & Elisabeth of Lewes, John and Diane Jackewicz and their son Evan of Dover, Paul and Patti Jackewicz and their children Jessica and Paul of Rehoboth Beach, two sisters, Edith Pendulik of Southampton, NY, Theodora Czartosieski of Southhold, NY, and three brothers, Bruno Bobinski of Yaphank, NY, Joseph Bobinski of Pompano Beach, FL, and George Bobinski of Loveland, OH.

Della M. Jackson, 94
GEORGETOWN - Della M. Jackson of Georgetown died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, in Harbor Health Care, Lewes. She was 94.
Mrs. Jackson had been a cafeteria manager for East Millsboro School for 20 years.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Georgetown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. Jackson, in 1974; a son, Kenneth Jackson, in 2002; and a grandson.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour earlier. Pastor Richard Blades will officiate.

Jackson, Arthur LeAndrus
Arthur LeAndrus Jackson, son of Isaiah and Mary Jackson was born September 5, 1966 in Salina, Kansas. He departed this life on September 19, 2007 at Christiana Hospital.
He received his education in Capitol School District, Dover, DE. He joined and served the United States Navy 1984 through 1992 after completing an Honorable Discharge. He was then united in Holy Matrimony to Elizabeth Hampton on April 11, 1992. He was employed with the Department of Correction as Sergeant until his illness. He established an excellent relationship with public service and it was shown throughout his life. He was a member of the Mt. Olive Pentecostal Church of Smyrna, DE under the pastorialship of Elder Constance Beach. For a period of time he also served under the leadership of Elder Hazel Williams and Elder James Combs of Hartly, DE.
He loved to sing and had a very special voice of song. He directed The Mighty Men of God Choir at Mt. Olive Pentecostal Church. He was a member of Walter Fox Post 2 of Dover. He loved to be very social and a very recognizable jokester. He especially loved to render the song "I Won't Complain", a song of commitment from the Lord. And that song was very much his perseverance during his illness. Andy was well liked; some say Jubilant, Cheerful and always had a smile and a wave to everyone. His favorite scripture was Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon formed against me shall prosper".
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Minnie L. Berry.

Three brother-in-laws Joel White of Wilmington, DE, Charles C. Hampton of Dover, DE and Ronald Brittingham of Ellendale, DE. Six nieces Kena Jackson, Angelique Jackson, Janay Harris, Casandra, Shonda, and Teneka Brittingham. Five nephews Antonio T. Carey, Charles Dickerson, Dennis Hampton, Ronald Brittingham, and T.T. Brittingham. Four aunts Arnetia Walker Francis, Mattie Crawford, Minnie Walker, and Shirley Walker. Four uncles Newman Crawford, Milton, Robert, and Willie Walker. One great aunt Mary L. Smith and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call 5 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Centennial United Methodist Church, 44 E. Mt. Vernon Street, Smyrna.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Burial will at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Chesapeake City Road, Bear.

Adrian D. "A.J." Jackson, 23
MILFORD - Adrian D. "A.J." Jackson of Milford died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, in Kenton. He was 23.
Mr. Jackson was born in Lakenheath, England, son of David F. and Blanche Jackson of Harrington.
He was a welder/plumber/electrician for the Joseph T. Richardson Co. He excelled at his job and everything he tackled in life.
On his 23rd birthday, he ventured at ice skating for the first time in his life. In only five minutes, he was ice skating backwards and in half an hour, he was doing leaps. He also enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles. He enjoyed throwing Frisbees, going fishing, and was an avid music lover. He found great pleasure in playing his acoustic bass guitar and jamming with his dad.
Mr. Jackson was a free spirit and had no fear except the fear of missing out on something. He had a wonderful sense of humor and believed in telling it like it was. He loved being with his friends and made friends easily. His core value was his unconditional love for family and friends.
A brother, son, cousin and soon to be uncle has left quickly but left 23 years of love in his wake.
He will be missed dearly by his family and countless friends, and also by the love of his life, his soul mate whom he planned to spend the rest of his life with, his fiancée, Adrienne. His passing leaves many empty in heart but full with wonderful memories.
Mr. Jackson was a member of the ROTC in high school, and belonged to the Business and Pleasure Car club.
He is survived by his parents, David F. and Blanche Jackson of Harrington; a sister, Kristen A. Jackson of Harrington; his grandmother, Jeannine B. Jackson of Dryden, N.Y.; his fiancée, Adrienne M. Smith of Milford; his aunt and uncle, Ella and Calvin Keech of Freeville, N.Y.; an uncle, Jerry Robinson of Irvington, Ky.; and a host of cousins.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Cemetery, Dover.
