Parrish, Marion L.
Marion L. Parrish, of Egg Harbor, NJ, and formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Saturday October 8, 2011. She was 90.
She was the daughter of the late Howard and Alberta Pritchett. Mrs. Parrish retired from National Publishing Co., Phila., after many years of service.
She enjoyed reading, travelling, and buying clothes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William M. Parrish, and her son, William H. "Chickie" Parrish.
She is survived by a daughter Marian Keebler and her husband James, of Egg Harbor, NJ; a step-sister, Gwendolyn "Dolly" Morris, of Lewes; a daughter-in-law, Ada Parrish, of Cheswold; 7 grandchildren: James, Daniel, Michelle, Ada, William, Marian, and Karen; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday October 14 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be in Immanuel Union Cemetery, Rt. 13 and Rt. 42, Cheswold.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association DE Valley Chapter, 399 Market St., Ste. 102, Phil., PA 19106.

Hufford, Bernice Ruth
Bernice Ruth Hufford of Smyrna, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on Saturday, October 8, 2011.
She was 75.
Mrs. Hufford was born on January 10, 1936 in Wilmore, PA, the daughter of the late Melvin and Hilda Owens.
She retired in 1995 after 15 years of work as a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna.
Bernice enjoyed sewing and crocheting, and liked working with pottery, ceramics and crafts. She also enjoyed caring for her family and spending time with them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Brian in 1980; and a grandson, Chris in 1992.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Walter Hufford; 3 daughters, Marcia Daniels and her husband Nick of Clayton, DE, Roberta Gosser and her husband Phil of Bridgeville, DE, and Cindy Wright and her husband Dave of Dover, DE; a son, Kevin Hufford of Smyrna; a brother, Ray Owens and his wife Rita of Newark, DE; a sister, Shirley Latner and her husband Jim of Cresson, PA; 7 grandchildren, Kim, Rodney, Dwight, April, David, Ashley, and Derek; and 6 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 7-9 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located on 29 S. Main Street, Smyrna.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11 am in the Funeral home.
Burial will be held in Gracelawn Memorial Park in Wilmington, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19904.
Cochran, Mable V.
Mable V. Cochran of Smyrna, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on Wednesday, October 12, 2011.
She was 89.
Mrs. Cochran was born on July 6, 1922 in Prince, WVA, the daughter of the late Pete and Eunice McKay.
Mable was a passionate NASCAR fan, especially of Jeff Gordon. She liked working on puzzles, yard work, swimming, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Cochran in 1985; 2 brothers, John McKay and Russell McKay; and 3 sisters, Leona Perry, Maxine Guildo, and Joy Traverse.
She is survived by 2 sons, Donald P. (Dick) Cochran and his wife Hannah of Kenton, DE, and Richard L. (Bunky) Cochran and his wife Monique of Magnolia, DE; a sister, Elizabeth Coleman of Louisa, VA; 3 grandchildren, Donald R. (Ricky) Cochran of Smyrna, Sheri Booth of Salisbury, MD, and James R. (JimBob) Cochran and his wife Amber of Hartly, DE; 5 step grandchildren, Renea, Dale, Yvonne, Carmen, and Louis; 4 great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Morgan, Brandon, and Stephen; 7 step great grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, , Tatianna, Josilyn, Mariano, Alyssa, and Vega; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 12 noon in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located on 29 S. Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call at 11 am.
Burial will be held in Glenwood Cemetery in Smyrna.
Davis, Anna L.
Anna L. Davis, 97 of Wilmington, died peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2011 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Reading, PA to the late Antonio and Agatha Ciervo.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Linda Marchione, her granddaughter Jennifer Marchione, and her great grandchildren, Christian, and Connor.
Funeral Services will be private.
Knotts, Pauline
Age 85, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2011.
Born in Wilmington, Pauline was the daughter of the late Dennis and Ella (Keeley) Sullivan. She worked as a cafeteria worker until her retirement. She enjoyed going to Delaware Park and playing the lottery.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, James Knotts, in 2008, and her husband, Joseph Knotts, Sr. in 1999. Also preceding her in death are her siblings, John Sullivan, James Sullivan, Josephine Crockett, Marguerite Wardell, Eleanor Brown and Theresa Givens.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Marie Knotts, Jr., and her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and John Redmond; eight grandchildren Kim Ziemba and husband, Jeff, Jennifer Knotts, Michele King and husband, Brian, Joseph C. Knotts, Tracy Knotts, John Redmond and wife, Lara, Leigh Ann Keiluhn and husband, Chris, and Paul Redmond; and 10 great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Samantha and Dalton Ziemba, Nathan, Rylee and Thomas King, Ryan and Reese Keiluhn, and Brooke and Peyton Redmond.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Lorelton and Vitas Hospice for their care and support.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13th at 11 AM at Corpus Christi Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere where friends are invited to visitation between 9:45 and 10:45 AM. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

Butler, John R.
Fire Department
John R. Butler, 74, Magnolia, passed away peacefully Saturday October 08, 2011 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on December 13, 1936 in Cheswold, DE to the late Mack and Marie Grampp Butler.
He was a life time member of Camden Wyoming Fire Dept. and had been employed as a mechanic. His favorite pastime was working with his hands, either building or fixing things. He enjoyed listening to country music and watching old western movies. His biggest passion in life was camping with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers Dave and Ray Butler.
The family would like to thank the nurses from Bayhealth and Seasons Hospice for their loving care and support during this difficult time. After his final ride with the Camden Wyoming Fire Dept. services will be private.
He is survived by two Daughters, Patricia Alexander, Kathy Harwood, grandchildren, Steve Crew, Jr, John Weldlein, Jr., James Hunt, Taylor and Ashlyn Alexander, Great grand daughter Haylo Crew, Sister, Rose Butler, Brother, Eslie Lee Butler, and Long time great Friend, Grady Wilson.
