Tapman, Laurel J

Laurel J. Tapman, Jr., age 87, of Millsboro died peacefully surrounded by his family at his son's home in Laurel, DE on November 24, 2011. Born in Bullbeger, Virginia on March 13, 1924, he was the son of the late Laurel James, Sr. and Anna Taylor Tapman.

He was spent his entire life on the Eastern Shore, except for his service in the US Army overseas. He earned a good conduct medal, WW II Victory medal, and was decorated for Asiatic Pacific Service and American Theater Service. In 1947, he married his wife, Kathleen Joseph Tapman, and had 52 years with her until her passing in 1999. Laurel worked for 45 years in the poultry business at Townsends, Inc. Laurel is survived by his son: Bryan Tapman, and his wife Darlene, of Laurel and his daughter: Zella Andrie, and husband Bill, of Millsboro, and a son-in-law: Skip Ulrich, of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by one daughter: Linda Ulrich. He is also survived by his siblings: William Tapman, and his wife Elizabeth; Shirley Moore; Glenna Layton; and a sister-in-law: Sarah Tapman. He was preceded by one brother, Richard Tapman. He has six grandchildren: Chris Tapman; Jennifer Bloodsworth; Ronnie Andrie, and wife Tammy; Mike Andrie, and wife Stacey; Dawn Drew, and husband Stewart; and Holly Ferebee, and husband John. He also has a step grandson: Stacey Lowe, and his wife Brooke. He has fifteen great-grandchildren: Ashley Tapman; Donna Tapman; Kayla Tapman; Lee Bloodsworth; Christian Bloodsworth; RonRon Andrie; Brandon Andrie; Tiffany Andrie; Dalton Andrie; Jordan Drew; Lanay Drew; Cherie Ferebee; Heather Ferebee; Nicki Ferebee; and Morgan Lowe. Laurel also is survived by two great-great grandchildren. A funeral service and celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, December 1, at 1:00 PM at the Watson Funeral Home; 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE where friends may call one hour prior to the service for visitation and viewing. Pastor Robert Hudson will officiate. Interment follows at the Carey's Cemetery with conferring of Military Honors.

Pritchett, Kenneth P

Kenneth Paden Pritchett, Jr., loving husband of Donna and father of Leslie, Greg, and Landon, passed away suddenly on November 23, 2011 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE. He was 44 years old. "Kenny", as he was affectionately called, was born on April 24, 1967 in Dover. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He blessed those of us who knew and loved him with his sense of humor and positive outlook on life. He possessed a contagious laugh and a generous heart, displayed through his final gift of organ donation. He served the Lord faithfully at Central Mennonite Church for many years. Kenny is survived by his wife and best friend of 23 years, Donna (Yoder) Pritchett, a daughter, Leslie Brooke Pritchett, and two sons, Gregory Lane Pritchett and Landon Scott Pritchett, all of Dover. His parents, Kenneth Sr. and Ann (Kramer) Pritchett, three brothers: David, Wesley, and Michael Pritchett, a sister, Crystal Tice, all of Dover, and many other loving relatives and friends. Kenny was preceded in death by a very special niece, Melanie Miller, age 13. The viewing will be held Saturday, November 26, from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Central Mennonite Church, 220 West Denneys Rd, Dover, DE. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 27, at 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, Rt. 8 (Forrest Ave), Dover, DE, with a viewing beginning 45 minutes prior to the service. Arrangements by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, DE.

CHARLES, MICHAEL ANTHONY

Michael Anthony Charles, age 56, of Millsboro passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Beebe Medical Center on October 8, 2011. Born on March 28, 1955, he was the son of the late James F. and Rosalie Theresa Pierce. He was also preceded by his sister, Pamela Topor, and Grandmother Marie Pierce and Grandfather Leo Pierce.

He is survived by his sister, Deborah Pirece and her husband Andy, of Millsboro; his brother, Timothy Charles and his wife, Kris, of Harbeson; Michael is also survived by his children: Tamara Charles Schofield, and her husband Gary, of Milford; Tiffany Charles Heins, and husband Tyler, of Berlin, NJ; Michael Charles II, of Harrington; and Brock Charles, of Angola and step-daughter: Jennifer DiDomenicis, of Rehoboth. Michael is survived also by 7 grandchildren; 5 nephews; 4 nieces, and many more family members and friends. A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, October 20th, 2011 at 7 PM at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro with a motorcycle hearse, and motorcycle escorted procession leaving from Watson Funeral Home to the cemetery at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to ABATE of Delaware.

Hachemeister, Kathy W.

Kathy W. Hachemeister, 62, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Cambridge on June 23, 1947 and was a daughter of the late Norman H. and Edith Brannock Willey.

She graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1965. She continued with her education and graduated from Fairmont State in Fairmont, West Virginia with a degree in Recreation and Parks. At the age of 14, she began working for the Dorchester County Recreation and Parks in the summer during her high school and college years. After college she continued to work for Recreation and Parks and retired in 2004 with 34 years of service. She was also involved in the Maryland State Recreation and Parks. Her whole life revolved around the children of Dorchester County and her grandchildren. On September 23, 1984, she married Charles I. "Butch" Hachemeister, Jr. Mrs. Hachemeister's favorite holidays were Halloween and Christmas. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School.

She is survived by her husband Charles I. "Butch" Hachemeister, Jr. of Cambridge, two children Dawn M. Ellis and husband Tim of Cambridge and Charles I. "Chuck" Hachemeister III and fiancée Valerie of Easton, three grandchildren that she loved very much Zachary and Matthew Ellis both of Cambridge and Rachael Hachemeister of Easton, an aunt Mary Frances Willey, cousins Donald Willey, Chuck Willey and Debbie Sturgis, a sister in law Laura Willey of Cambridge, a niece Duana Willey and her son Norman Wingate of Cambridge and a friend of 50 years Pat Moore. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother Levin Duane Willey, who passed away on June 28, 2006, an aunt Velma Willey and her husband Henry Willey and an uncle Eldridge Willey.

Pallbearers will be Scott Eberspacher, Chad Smith, Harold Carr, Tommy Gray, Donald Willey and Buddy Parker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Swann, Tony Robbins, Wally Gray and Herschel Johnson.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with Rev. Thomas Hurley officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 9:30 until the time of service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions can be made in Kathy's name to Grace United Methodist Church Vacation Bible School, 501 Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21613, Dorchester County Recreation and Parks, 434 Willis Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the American Diabetes Association, 114 Baptist Street, Salisbury, MD 21801.

George B. Collins, Jr.

Of Greenwood, formerly of Milford, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Milford Center. He was 89.

George was born on January 6, 1922 in Dover, son of the late George B., Sr. and Mary Reed Collins.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving his country during World War II.

Mr. Collins was employed for over 20 years as a clerk with Wright's Auto Parts in Milford, retiring in 1995.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife, Janice S. Collins in 2007, three brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Donald Huey of Greenwood; two granddaughters; Dawn Ohlsson and her husband Shannon Burgess and Jennifer Huey and her husband Ray Pena and two great-grandchildren; Christian Ohlsson and Amelie Ohlsson.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Milford Community Cemetery on North Walnut Street.

Burial with military honors will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to your favorite charity.

Bradshaw, Everett M

Mr. Everett M. Bradshaw of Dagsboro, DE formerly of Baltimore, MD, passedaway on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011. He was 91 years old.

Mr. Bradshaw was born on April 18, 1920 to the late John C. and Myrtle Perkins Bradshaw. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by 10 siblings.He was a retired Baltimore Police Sgt. with 25 years of service, retiring in 1972. After his retirement, he also worked as a MD Welfare Bureau Investigator. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and a Shriner. His biggest hobby was his grandchildren. "He was the greatest grandfather who ever lived." He was a skilled craftsman, had patience of a saint, loved music, had a great sense of humor and loved music. He always played "Peg of My Heart" on the piano.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Bradshaw of Dagsboro, DE, 2 sons, Bruce D. Bradshaw of Selinsgrove, PA, and Glenn R. Bradshaw and his wife Sally of Dagsboro, DE; a sister Doris Hornberger of Westminster, MD; 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE where friends may call after 1:00 P.M. Friends may also call on Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Bordley, Mae Margaret

Mae Margaret Bordley passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 in her home. She was 81.

Mae was a very dedicated worker and took her work seriously in the health care industry. She also was a caregiver until her death.

She enjoyed sewing.

Mae is survived by a sister Mary "Delores" Johnson, a brother Dempsey Bordley and his wife Maxine and a sister-in-law Martha Bordley, brother-in-law Robert Johnson and an extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 14 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Marydel, Maryland.

Guevara, III, Robert A.

Son of Robert A. Guevara, Jr. and Ashley Tims, was stillborn on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Christiana Hospital. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Sheri and Dana Canale, Betty and Anthony Pinkovsky and Christopher and Deana Moore. Funeral services are private.

Reid, Thomas Lee

Mr. Thomas Lee Reid, Sr. of Selbyville, DE passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011. He was 74 years old. Mr. Reid was born on July 4, 1937 in Exmore, VA. He was one of 10 children born to the late James and Lillie Mae Giddens Reid. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by one brother, four sisters and one grandson. "Tom" as he was affectionately called by family and friends loved to work. He worked several jobs in his life, the last 40 years at Townsend Inc. until they became Mountaire Farms in Millsboro, DE until he retired in August of 2011.

He is survived by his Wife of 15 years, Frances Collins Reid of Selbyville, DE; 12 Children- Thomas Reid of NJ, Emmbrella Neal of Stone Mountain, GA; Barbara (Terris) Cannon of Bridgeville, DE; Thomas Reid, Jr. of Lincoln, DE; Garfield (Delorse) Reid of Smyrna, DE; Linwood Reid of Millsboro, DE; Sherwood (Claire) Reid of Slaughter Neck, DE; Cynthia (Davis) Childs of Slaughter Neck, DE; Brenda Reid Weaver of Harrington, DE; Ricardo (Elvary) Reid of Greenwood, DE; Trimell Reid of Wilmington, DE; Yvonne (Michael) Feddiman of Millsboro, DE; 2 God-Children Glenna- Jay Garrison and Estelle Isler. Siblings, John Reid of Melfa, VA; Charles Reid of Cheaspeake, VA; Shirley Reid of NJ and Yvonne Tarlton of Slaughter Neck, DE. He is also survived by a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandchildren, and extended family members and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at St. John's Second Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Rd., Millsboro, DE, where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev Judson Garrison will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Curtis United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may also call on Wednesday, October 12, from 6 - 8 P.M. at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966.

Ingersoll, Ruth F.

Ruth F. Ingersoll, 89, of Newark, died Thursday, July 4, 2002 at Millcroft Health Care.

Born in Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Willie C. and Mary M. Fields. She lived most of her life in Salisbury, moving to Delaware six years ago.

Ruth worked for 31 years at Benjamins Dept. Store in Salisbury, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Trinity U.M. Church in Salisbury since 1923, where she served in the Claudia Circle and was a past president of the altar guild. Ruth was a member of Chapter 91 of the Order of the Eastern Star, happy Timers and AARP, and for many years whe was a volunteer for the Heart Association.

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Prettyman and her husband, Dick, daughter, Beverly Doughty; grandson, Mark Doughty, two step-grandchildren, allof Newark, and a sister Gladys M. Tolley of Salisbury. Her husband, Bob, preceded her in death in 1998.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at Trinity U.M. Church in Salisbury. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private in Springhill Memory Gardens Near Hebron.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity U.M. Church, 112 High St., Salisbury, MD 21801.

Arrangements are being handled by Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Rd., Salisbury, MD 21804.
