Anthony "Tony" Thomas Cortilesso, Jr.
Age 39, of Middletown, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 4, 2008, at home with his wife by his side.
Tony was the President and founder of Riverfront Audio Visual. He enjoyed traveling, boating and was an avid golfer.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Joyce; and daughter, Julia; parents, Anthony and Marsha Cortilesso; and maternal grandfather, Harry Martin. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Margaret Martin; and paternal grandparents, Richard and Mary Cortilesso.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 8, at Red Lion Evangelical Free Church, 1400 Red Lion Road, Bear, DE 19701 from 11 am to 1 pm followed by a service in celebration of Tony's life at 1 pm. Burial will follow at White Clay Presbyterian Cemetery, Kirkwood Highway & Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE.

Born Betty May Hoag, died peacefully at age 92, on February 29, 2006.
An accomplished artist, piano player, entertainer and world traveler, she brought joy too people around the world. She will be missed and held in our hearts.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristina C. Herold and son-in-law, Frederick W. Herold.

Eleanor Lucille Clapp Bowling
Eleanor Lucille Clapp Bowling, 90, died March 20, 2008 at Shipley Manor Nursing Home in Wilmington, DE where she had lived with Alzheimer's since May of 2003.
Eleanor was born at home in Monroe, CT in 1917 to Wilson Alphonso Clapp and Myrtle Elona Scott Clapp, both originally from Enfield, ME. She attended Booth & Baylis Commercial School in Bridgeport, CT and worked for the Remington Arms division of the DuPont Company eventually as secretary to the Production Manager. There she met John Franklin Bowling, Purdue mechanical engineer and fellow Remington employee, whom she married at First Methodist Church in Bridgeport in 1942. Remington and later DuPont transferred them many times during their marriage. They eventually landed in Wilmington where they have lived since 1966. Eleanor was co-founder of Wilmington's Family Education Center, served as counselor there for many years and was a long-time choir member at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, John of 65 years; son, John and his wife, Rachel, son, David and his wife, Cindy; daughter in-law, Diane Bowling of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren, Kristin Ann Bowling of Klamath Falls, OR and Jeffrey Martin Bowling and his wife, Alice of Havertown, PA; great grandchildren, Nina Elizabeth Bowling and Lucas James Bowling both of Havertown, PA; and nephew, Alan Billings Clapp of Woodbury, CT. She was predeceased by older siblings, Antoinette and Omar, both of whom died in childhood of polio, sister, Frances Elizabeth Clapp, brother, Wilson Billings Clapp and her oldest son, James.
Services will be private.

Of Newark, DE, and formerly of Essex, Baltimore County, Maryland died on March 20, 2008.
Anita was predeceased by her parents, John G. Sr. and Dorothea Ogle and brother, John G. Ogle, Jr. and Thomas Ogle. She was loving wife of Winter Butler; cherished mother of Cheryl Ann Miller and her husband Daniel; grandmother of Joshua Miller; sister of LeRoy (Jim) Ogle and many nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held at 1 pm, on Friday, March 28, at the Chapel at Delaware Veterans Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.

Elizabeth A. Cifoni
Mr. Elizabeth A. Cifoni, age 88 of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008.
Elizabeth was born in Wilmington on February 25, 1920, daughter of the late Luigi and Amelia (DiSantis) Massetti. She had been a longtime employee of Christiana Care, working as a seamstress. Deeply cherishing her loved ones, Elizabeth was unconditionally and endlessly devoted to her family.
Mrs. Cifoni was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Cifoni. She is survived by her sons, Lawrence and his wife, Sheila, of Ohio, and Richard; grandchildren, Marybeth, Lauren, and David; and great-grandchildren, Sydney, Marina, Sophia, Noah.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew RC Church, E. Newport Pike in Wilmington, on Tuesday morning, March 25 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave. (opp. Cathedral Cem.), on Tuesday morning, prior to mass, from 9-10 am.

Florence A. Conway
Age 93, of McCook, NE, formerly of Elkton, MD, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008.
Survivors include her children, Jack J. Conway, Jr., McCook, NE, and Emmy Lou Rhoades, Chesapeake City, MD; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 11 am, Tuesday, March 25, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday, March 24, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.
Harriet Amis Guth
Age 81, of Hockessin, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Christiana Hospital.
She was born on August 25, 1926 in Norfolk, VA to the late Nannie and E. Tinsley Amis. After graduation from Flora MacDonald College in North Carolina, Harriet started her career teaching math at Granby High School in Norfolk, VA. During that time she met and married Forrest Guth, also a teacher and cabinet maker. The couple moved to Wilmington, DE. Harriet was an active Westminster Presbyterian Church member for 56 years. She sang in the Westminster choir, served in the Woman's Association and was named Woman of the Year in 1991. She was also elected and served as a church elder for 7 years. Harriet served on the leisure club for the elderly, traveled to work camps in the Appalachia area of Tennessee with the church youth group, and served as youth club leader along with participating in many other church activities. After moving with her husband from Wilmington to Hockessin in 1997, Harriet continued to volunteer her time and energies, serving on numerous committees at Cokesbury Village in addition to her church responsibilities. She loved gardening and was always growing and arranging flowers for friends as well as the church. She enjoyed summers in the Poconos with her husband and children. She also loved traveling, painting, sewing, bridge and most of all her family and friends. She was always quick to laugh and gather others together.
She and and her husband were married for 60 years and had 2 children, Nancy Serfas, from Golden, CO and John Guth, who resides in Virginia Beach, VA with his wife, Cynthia. Harriet also had 2 granddaughters, Stacy Guth, a naval flight officer currently stationed in Afghanistan and Jamie Guth, a graphic designer living in Satellite Beach, FL. She is also survived by a sister, Jean Amis Hill and her husband, Clyde F. Hill of Martinsville, VA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 20, at 11 am at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1502 W. 13th St., Wilmington, DE 19806.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Harriet's name may be made to either Westminster Presbyterian Church or Cokesbury Village Retirement Home, 726 Loveville Rd., Hockessin, DE 19707.
