Boulanger, Albert E.

Albert E. Boulanger, 73, began his journey Home Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Kent General Hospital in the comforting arms of loved ones.

He was born on June 12, 1936 in Hartford, CT, son of the late Arnold and Leonie (Arcand) Boulanger Taylor.

Al served his country proudly in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He owned two shoe stores early in his career and then was employed by the State of Connecticut until retirement.

Al enjoyed golfing, playing tennis, woodworking and camping. He loved all the time he spent with his grandchildren; teasing them and playing cribbage, winning quarters from the youngest to dollars from the oldest.

He was a member of the Wyoming United Methodist Church.

Al is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years Carol Boulanger, four daughters: Denise Panosky and her husband Dan of Ledyard, CT, Paula Richardson and her husband Rob of Phoenix, AZ, Karen Pack and her husband Chris of Harrells, NC, and Diane Zimmerman and her husband Kevin of Magnolia, DE, 10 grandchildren Jim and Jen Panosky, Erica, Kristen and Nicole Gildersleeve, Kaili and Corey Pack, Kevin, Andy and Jack Zimmerman, a very close brother-in-law Derek Pariseault of West Hartford, CT, two sisters, many brother-in-laws,, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews friends, and Mindy his "Princess" dog who never left his side.

When Al was asked how he would like to be remembered, he answered "PACE", which means Positive Attitude changes Everything.

A memorial service will be 11:00 am Monday, June 7 at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover, DE where fellowship will follow in the Family Life Center. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Wyoming United Methodist Church, Memorial Gifts in Memory of Al Boulanger, P.O. Box 389, Wyoming, DE 19934.

Gunter, Doyle S.

Doyle S. Gunter, 81, of Dover passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Kent General Hospital, Dover.

He was born on August 2, 1938 in Benton, AR, son of the late Earl and Dora (Hooper) Gunter.

Doyle served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force retiring as Chief Master Sergeant. He then worked in civil service at Dover Air Force Base retiring in 1988.

He was a founding member of Capitol Baptist Church, Dover, Delaware.

He enjoyed vegetable gardening, woodworking, loved to work on machinery of all types and traveling.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Mattie Pearl Gunter in 2006.

He is survived by daughter Linda J. Gunter of Dover, son Jerry and wife Mary Gunter of Felton, daughter Debra and husband Richard Goerger of Dover, two brothers Warren Gunter of AR, Wayne Gunter of Missouri, a sister Lucille Sanders of AR, three grandchildren, Jerry D. Gunter, Jr. of Bethlehem, GA, Jaime D. Childress of Dallas, TX and Katherine A. Goerger of Dover, three great grandchildren, Hannah L. Gunter, Phoebe D. and Simeon G. Childress and several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends, and his little buddy, Skippy.

Services will be 10:00 am Monday, June 7 in the Capitol Baptist Church, 401 Kesselring Ave., Dover where friends may call one hour before service time.

Burial will be Thursday, June 10 in Dykes Chapel Cemetery, Richton, MS

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Capitol Baptist Church.

Todd, Shelvia J.

Shelvia J. Todd, 74, of Dover, formerly of Harrington, passed away June 1, 2010 at Capitol Healthcare Services.

She was born on June 1, 1936 in West Virginia daughter of the late Willie and Shirley (Smith) Dingess. Shelvia was a glass factory worker.

She is survived by a nephew John Goff and his wife Shirley of Harrington and a niece Brenda Barkhurst of Kenndyville, MD.

Friends may call at the Pippin Funeral Home for visitation on Monday, June 7 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Flamer, Lillian Mae

Lillian Mae Flamer fell asleep in death Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 12:30 am after a courageous battle with a broken hip, dementia, Alzheimer's disease and many other problems. She passed away in her home of her daughter Arlene Flamer. She was 77.

She was born on February 1, 1933 in Ridgely, MD, daughter of the late George and Martha (Wright) Holmes.

Lillian had worked in factories, canneries and was also a custodian for many schools.

She loved music, dancing, traveling and visiting family.

Lillian is also preceded in death by her husband William F. Flamer, Sr. in 1969, a son Alvin Flamer in 2006 and a sister Esther Powell in 1992.

She is survived by three daughters Arlene Flamer of Dover, Cheryl Flamer of Milford and Charlotte Flamer of Denton, MD, a son William F. Flamer, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA, a brother Philip Wright of Felton, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.

Service will be 12 noon Friday, June 4 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Sandtown Cemetery, Hillsboro, MD.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Arlene Flamer, P.O. Box 6, Dover, DE 19903.

Benham, USAF Retired, MSGT Stephen Michael

MSGT Stephen Michael Benham, 60, USAF Retired, of Camden passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 peacefully at his home with his loving wife at his side.

He was born on June 22, 1949 in Greensburg, IN, son of the late Robert and Joan (Smith) Benham.

Steve served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force and started flying C141's as a flight engineer out of Washington State. He transferred to Dover Air Force Base as a flight engineer/flight examiner in the 9th MAS. He then became a 436 AW flight examiner and was instrumental in starting the air drop and special operation program for the C-5. He retired from the Air Force and became an instructor for Flight Safety Inc. for the C-5. He left Flight Safety to fly 747's worldwide out of JFK, New York.

He enjoyed traveling, horse racing, golfing, playing football and doing yard work.

Steve is also preceded in death by his son Derek Benham, February 28, 2010.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Mary Benham, two sisters Teresa Johns of Milan, IN and Marcia Wetzel of Moores Hill, IN and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call 7-9 pm this evening, May 26, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Funeral service will be 1 pm Saturday, May 29 at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, 707 S. Main St., Milan, IN. Burial will follow in Cravens Cemetery, Milan, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, De 19901.

Bennett, Louise

Louise Bennett, 88, of West Chester, PA, formerly of Dover, passed away Sunday, May 23, in her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 30, 1922 in Pocomoke City, MD, daughter of the late Peter and Laura (Ardis) Tilghman. She enjoyed life as a homemaker.

Louise was a member of the Christ Memorial Baptist Church, Dover.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Bennett.

Louise is survived by a son, Robert James Bennett, Jr. and his wife Dale of Laurens, SC, a daughter, Nadine Kaptur and her husband Mark of West Chester, PA., 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchilden.

Visitation will be from 11 am to 12:30 pm Thursday, May 27 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Service will be at 1:00 pm at the Christ Memorial Baptist Church, 1160 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
