Burgess, Edward Fulton
Edward Fulton Burgess, 66, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on June 12, 2010.
He was born in Charleston, West Virginia on October 2, 1943. He moved to Delaware with his family when he was a junior in high school.
Edward received an honorable discharge from the Navy and retired from IBM with 30 years. He received numerous awards for his work ethics. He was known for his quiet way of going into an account and fixing the computer problem quickly and efficiently.
Edward loved being with family. When he was younger, he spent a lot of time with his sister and younger brother doing things. Some of his best times were when all his family would go to the West Virginia parks for a gathering. There were a lot of good visits, food, hiking and good times for everyone. When his parents moved back to Delaware from Florida, he enjoyed nice morning walks with his mother.
His favorite time was camping with his family. He took the camper to Trap Pond with his brother John, guy time. Edward's very best times were when he was doing things with his wife, children and grandchildren. Between working on his little farm, camping and sailings, as long as he was with them, he was happy. His children always had questions about everything. He was a very knowledgeable person and if he didn't know the answer he would tell them where they could get it. Edward also owned and operated Marydel Video with his wife and children. He taught his son how to repair VCRs.
Edward is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jacquelin M. and their children, Edward F. Burgess II and wife Michelle; Susan M. Burgess, and K. Elizabeth Renshaw and husband John F. He especially loved his grandchildren, Amanda, Jaxon and Brookelyn and four legged granddogs, NeeNee and DeeDee. He is also survived by his mother, Lillian Burgess of Millsboro; brothers, John of Georgetown and Frank of Houston, TX and sister Jean Redmond of Sykesville, MD, his very special sister-in-law, Carolyn and her husband Harvey Whitehead of Largo, FL and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be 12 noon Wednesday, June 16 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour before services. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.

Hobbs, Lola Ann
Lola Ann Hobbs, 77, of Wyoming passed away Thursday June 10, 2010 in Kent General Hospital.
She was born on January 18, 1933, daughter of the late Major and Ann (Ford) Hurd.
Lola enjoyed life as a homemaker and her hobbies included vegetable and flower gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Herbert Hobbs in 2003.
She is survived by two sons Herbert C. Hobbs and his wife Tammy Lynn of Wyoming and John W. Hobbs and his companion Elizabeth Sauerwein of Wyoming, a brother Jack Hurd of Milford, a sister Dorothy Fry of Harrington, sister-in-law Charlotte Butler of Dover, two granddaughters Sherri Lynn Hobbs of Millsboro, and Melyssa Sauerwein of Edgewater, MD, grandson Wayne H. Hobbs of Greenwood, great granddaughter Lily Grace Hobbs, special nephew Ronald W. Hurd of Slaughter Beach, beloved friend Peggy Jelliffe, and an extended family of relatives and friends.
Service will be 11 am Monday, June 14, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

Schultz, Betty M.
Betty M. Schultz, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Beebe Hospital.
She was born on October 31, 1927 in Claymont, Delaware, daughter of the late Bryan and Nellie (Harrigan) Morrow.
Betty was well known for her work ethics. She retired from the Town of Smyrna then worked for her daughter and son-in-law at Missy's Country Kitchen in Oak Orchard. She also worked at Jimmy's Airport Restaurant in Georgetown and for the last five years at the Georgia House in Millsboro.
She was a member of St. Georges Chapel and also long time member of St. Peter's in Smyrna where she served as Directress of the Altar Guild. She also was past Worthy Matron of Brandywine Chapter #140ES in Wilmington, Past President and Charter Member of Long Neck Chapter #4903 AARP and active member of Georgetown Chapter #5340 AARP.
Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years Theodore, four children Melissa Richardson, Betty Decker, Tom Schultz and Barbara Betts, three granddaughters and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 am Saturday, June 12 at the St. Georges Chapel, 20274 Beaver Dam Road, Angola. Burial will be private at a later date.

Steele, Carl V.
Carl V. Steele, 54, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.
He was born on December 16, 1955 son of the late Vincent and Ilona (Lehmann) Steele.
Carl had worked as a welder. He enjoyed fishing, clamming, tinkering and welding.
He is survived by his loving companion of 33 years Bonnie Berry, a sister Ilona Looney and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1-3 pm Sunday, June 13, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Hagen, Randolph G.
Randolph (Randy) Gaylord Hagen, age 72, died peacefully in Newark, DE on Sunday June 6th, 2010.
Born May 21st 1938 in Greenbush, Minnesota, to Frederick of Modum, Norway and Esther Hagen of Minnesota. He attended Greenbush High School and graduated in 1956. Randy had a distinguished career in the US Air force.
Although he considered Dover Delaware to be his home, his career as a Nuclear Safety Reliance Engineer took him to many places around the country until retiring in 2003.
Randy will be especially remembered for his wit, humor, and charm. He was an outgoing and generous person and had a real love for life and love for his children.
Survivors include his children Linda Nissink of Mendham, NJ, Randolph Hagen of Smyrna, DE, Paul Hagen of Newark, DE, Eric Hagen of Dallas, TX and Phillip Hagen of Newark, DE and his many grandchildren as well as sisters Helen, Marian, Doris.
Randy is preceded in death by parent's Frederick and Esther Hagen, and his daughter Juanita Hagen Smart, siblings Dee, Hugo, Lief, Dale, Wallace, Jerry, Karen, Loraine.
He died after a long, happy life filled with family, hard work and lots of jokes and too the end, never lost his appreciation for life, and his special friendship to the mother of his children Pauline Hagen.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 11th at Pippin Funeral Home 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave, Wyoming Delaware 19934.
Lumpris, Ernestina
Ernestina "Nena" Ibañez Lumpris was born to Petrona and Juan Ibáñez in Bocas del Toro, Republic of Panama on June 25, 1916. She was involved in various beauty pageants and was even crowned the Queen of the Banana Festival beauty pageant sponsored by Chiquita Banana in Panama. She was known for her involvement in fashion when she resided in Panama.Adjectives that come to mind to describe Ernestina are: strong, compassionate, loving, friendly, sympathetic, kind, courteous, caring, prudent, and honest. Throughout her life, she had a strong work-ethic and instilled those values in all of her family members. She had never complained and had a zeal for life.
All four of Ernestina's sons had honorably served in the United States Armed Forces. During her sons' military service, she had worried for them daily and had prayed for them to be safe and out of harms way. The combined military service of her four sons spans over eighty years.
Those that she leaves behind to celebrate her life and cherish her memories are: her son Sidney Alberto Sinclair and daughter-in-law Norma Sinclair (Dover, DE), Luis Lumpris and daughter-in-law Annie Lumpris (Lakewood, NJ), daughter Virginia Linton (Brooklyn NY), daughter Arline Dosman and son-in-law Rafael Dosman( Dover, DE), son Aurelio Anderson and daughter-in-law Linda Anderson (Oceanside CA), son Orlando Anderson (Fort Lauderdale, FL) and daughter-in-law Penny Anderson, grandchildren: Marcia, Duane, Mark, David, Kimberly, Luis Jr., Michelle, Damaris, Vanessa, Rafael Jr., Nicolás Alberto, Denise, Angela, Samuel, Darrel, Jessica, Orlando and fourteen great-grandchildren. Sisters: Esmeralda and Ramona. Sister-in-laws: Amy Ibañez and Florencia Ibañez, dear to her heart as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Step daughter: Daphne Anderson. Her caregiver of over six years: Olga Delgado as well as a host of friends.
Visitation will be 6-9 pm Friday, June 11 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, June 12 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Dover.
