Gondeck, Laura L.

Laura Lea Gondeck of Dover passed on shortly after entering into the arms of her family and friends while running in a 5K race at Killens Pond State Park. She was 45.

Laura was born on December 2, 1964 in Milford, Delaware. She graduated from Caesar Rodney High School, Class of 1982. After starting an elementary teaching career she then concentrated her love and efforts into doing what she enjoyed most, being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

Laura was an avid reader, who enjoyed running, walking, biking, gardening, the beach, doing arts and crafts and being an active member of the community. She especially loved the sound of laughter, and will always be remembered for her infectious smile.

She was a member of the Downstate Delaware Striders and Riders.

Laura is preceded in death by her father Captain Glenn James and Grandmother Ann Pizzuto.

She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years Michael Gondeck, her mother Joan and father Wilford Hodges of Jacksonville, FL, two daughters Jessica Gondeck and fiancé Jason Abernathey of Dover, Kristen and her husband Andrew Littleton of Newark, and her first anticipated granddaughter, a brother Glenn James II and his wife Emily of Edgewater, MD, two sisters Leanne Andrews and her husband Matt of Hartly, Leah James of Winter Park, FL, nieces and nephews Destinee Christmas of Hartly, Heather Wiltfong of Laporte, IN, Dustin Gondeck and his son Dylan of Harrington and Hunter Gondeck of Dover, mother and father-in-law Charles and Ruth Ann Gondeck of Felton, sister-in-law Carol Gondeck of Dover, brother-in-law David Gondeck and his wife Kelly of Dover and grandfather Paul Pizzuto of Felton.

Service will be 12 noon Friday, October 8 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Martin, Glenn L.

Glenn L. Martin of Hartly passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 65.

He was born on August 9, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Narcissus and Elizabeth (Hamilton) Martin.

Glenn served his country proudly in the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam.

Through his gospel group, he raised money for St. Jude's Research Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity during Hurricane Katrina. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodcarving, playing the guitar and loved music.

He is also preceded in death by a sister Connie Franic and a brother Ronnie Martin.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Weiss) Martin, two daughters Brittany Martin of Hartly, and Laura Martin of Newark, NJ, two sons Christopher Martin of Felton and Glenn L. Martin II of Marydel, grandchildren Eddie, Travis, Brooke, Angel, Heather, Christy, Destiny, Joshua, Amanda and Kayla, a brother Roger Wayne Martin of WV, a sister Linda Beach of Dover and step-father Vincent Aiello of Felton.

Service will be 8 pm Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Compassion Assembly Hall/Holy Spirit Mission, 3155 Hourglass Rd., Hartly where friends may gather two hours earlier.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.

Hall, Timothy Sven

Dover- Timothy Sven Hall, passed away peacefully in his home, Saturday, October 16, 2010 , after a long illness, he was 49.

Tim was born, March 16, 1961 in Lewes, DE to Irene Hall Spence, and the Late- Preston Spence.

He graduated Dover High School Class of 1979, and was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, in Ellendale. Tim enjoyed watching sports and especially football and his beloved Oakland Raiders. He spent most of his life in the health care industry, having worked at State Street Assisted Living , Green Meadows Nursing Home, and Kent General Hospital, all in Dover.

Tim is survived by his mother- Irene(Hall) Spence, of Dover; 2 Sisters- Maraquita Hall Jenkins, of

Ringgold, Georgia & her husband- Presbitero; and Crystal Spence, of Dover. A nephew Darius Spence,of Dover; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday , October 22 in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Dover

Morris, Gloria Louise Watsford Dukes

Gloria Louise Watsford Dukes Morris of Dover passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 70.

She was born on May 20, 1940 in Orlando, FL, daughter of the late Virgil and Beatrice (Butler) Dukes. She graduated from Caesar Rodney High School, Class of 1958.

Gloria had worked for the Diamond State Telephone Company, where she retired after 33 years and later worked for the Delaware Motor Vehicle for the past 20 years.

She was a member of the Diamond State Telephone Pioneers.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 51 years Robert Morris, daughter Sheri Antonik of Lincoln and a son Robert Morris of Little Creek, grandchildren Benjamin Antonik and his wife Jennifer of Milford, Paige and Katie Morris of Little Creek, Robert John Morris of Little Creek and a great grandson Dmitri Antonik of Milford.

Services are private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.

Hobbs Sr., John C.

John C. Hobbs, Sr. of Viola passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 80.

He was born on October 19, 1929 in Hazlettville, Delaware, one of eight children son of the late Samuel and Nellie (Voshell) Hobbs.

John had worked for Playtex for 20 years and afterwards he became an entrepreneur.

He liked going to the slots, horse racing and watching the Phillies, and NASCAR where Mark Martin was his favorite driver. He also enjoyed playing pool every Wednesday. John was a member of the Modern Maturity Center, Dover.

John is also preceded in death by his wife Margaret Hobbs, two brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by four children John Hobbs, Jr. and his wife June of Felton, Bonnie Shears and her husband Gig of Chester Springs, PA, Connie Elks and her companion Jeff Weber of Viola and Ronald Hobbs and his companion Mary Wolff of Smyrna, a sister Dorothy Bickling of Wyoming and his extended family of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends and his constant companion Hannah, his dog.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Sunday, October 3 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Service will be 11 am Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the funeral home to help with expenses.

Buchman, Willis C.

Willis C. Buchman of Wyoming passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 61.

He was born on May 14, 1949 in Worcester, MA, son of the late Willis and Ethna (Hopkins) Buchman.

Willis served his country proudly in the U.S Navy during Vietnam. He had worked as a HVAC technician.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed cars and hunting.

Willis is survived by five children Brian O'Neil of Tampa, FL, Ssgt. Christopher O'Neil and his wife Jessica of Camp Lejeune, NC, Shawn O'Neil, Jennifer O'Neil, and Jesse O'Neil all of Wyoming, three grandchildren Taylor O'Neil, Tyler O'Neil and Taryn O'Neil, three sisters Mildred Grace Eccleston of Millsboro, Carolyn Ethna Van Floten of Bradenton, FL and Beverly Ann Payne of Chester, VA, seven nieces and two nephews.

Services are private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming to help with expenses.
