Dorothy T. Wheat (O'Connor) Age 83 of Wilmington, DE died peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 after a short illness.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Stanley J. Wheat; her son, Ronald Wheat of Wilmington; her daughter, Kathy Marengo of West Palm Beach, FL; 3 granddaughters; and 4 great granddaughters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthew's Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington on Friday, June 6 at 11 am, where friends may call after 10 am. Burial will be in All Saints cemetery.

Edith Golt Butler Age 91 of Summit, DE passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at her home.
Mrs. Butler was a graduate of Middletown High School and a 1930 graduate of Goldey College. She was a member of the Summit United Methodist Church, where she had served as a past treasurer, past president of United Methodist Women and as a Sunday School teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. "Jack" Butler, who died in 2001; 5 brothers; 1 sister; and 1 niece. She is survived by 5 nephews; and 9 nieces.
The funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, June 8th at the Summit United Methodist church, 554 Old Summit Bridge Rd., Summit, where family and friends may call from 2-3 pm. Interment will be in Bethel cemetery near Chesapeake City, MD.

Harry F. Bargelski, Sr. Age 62 of New Castle, died Friday, November 23, 2001 at Christiana Hospital of complications of mesothelioma caused by exposure to asbestos.
Son of Joseph and Beatrice (Neville) Bargelski, Harry grew up in Delaware City where as a boy he loved to catch minnows, fish, and jump off the Reedy Point Bridge to swim. After 27 years of perfect attendance, Harry retired from NKS Distributors where he worked as a diesel mechanic. He also served in the US Army. His many memberships included, Our Lady of Fatima Church, St. Dennis Church, New Castle Moose Lodge, U.A.W., Teamsters Local 326 for 27 years, Crystal Beach Manor Boat Club, and Upper Chesapeake Yacht Club.
Harry had many loves in the wonderful life, especially dancing with his wife, Darlene. Next however, was his boat, where he spent many hours fishing and crabbing. He thoroughly enjoyed stage plays, trips, especially two to Ireland, and his beloved beach home in Crystal Beach Manor.
He was predeceased by his parents, his stepfather, "Pop" Spitzer, and his brother, John Bargelski. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 43 years, Darlene (Mimm) Bargelski; a daughter, Claudette Dunford and her husband, Wayne of Newark; 5 sons, Harry, Jr. and wife, Suzanna of Rockledge, FL, Richard and wife, Andrea of Melbourne, FL, Patrick and wife, Kristin of Gettysburg, PA, Robert and wife, Felice of Los Angeles, CA and Daniel of Wilmington. He was affectionately known as "Gramps" to his 10 grandchildren, Angelina, Shane, Elise, Joseph, Justin, Sean, Nicholas, Maggie Rose, Scott and Brooke.
He is also survived by 2 brothers, Joseph Bargelski and wife, Phyllis, and Paul Spitzer; 2 sisters, Marie Le Hoya and Carolyn Spitzer; a loving mother-in-law, Edna Mimm; sister-in-law, Kathleen Blackwelder and husband, Herbert; beloved relatives in Lancaster, Mary and Peter Grossi; relatives of the Mimm family; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 am at St. Dennis Catholic Church, Route 213, Galena, MD where interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday evening between 6-8 pm at MEALERY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Rds., Wilmington. There will be no viewing on Wednesday morning.

Lewis Donald Broadbent Mr. Lewis Donald Broadbent, age 69, of Townsend, DE, formerly of Penn Acres, New Castle, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 24, 2001 after a long and valiant battle with prostate cancer.
He joined other departed family members and friends whom he missed so much.
Born on August 11, 1932 in Wilmington, Mr. Broadbent was the youngest and last surviving of nine children of the late Caroline (Gears) and James Broadbent.
At a very early age, he joined the US Marine Corps and served in the Korean War, during which he earned two Purple Hearts.
He was very proud to be a Marine and believed strongly in their motto, "Semper Fidelis." Upon his return from military service and with the encouragement of his beloved wife of 46 years, Shirley (Moore) Broadbent, he joined the Delaware State Police.
He began his career as a trooper in 1958 and retired as captain of Troop 9 in Odessa after 20 years of service.
Mr. Broadbent was active in his community and was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1578 in New Castle, St. John's Lodge #2, A.F. & A.M., the Delaware Consistory, and the Wilmington Manor Volunteer Company.
Despite his demanding career, Mr. Broadbent's lifelong devotion was to his wife.
What he loved most was spending time with Shirley and his family and enjoying simple pleasures; during his last weeks he spoke often of his desire to again visit the beach of which he was so fond.
He will be sadly missed by his loving family: wife, Shirley; children, Harry Salvaggio and his wife, Lisa, of Charlotte, NC, Michael Salvaggio of Charlotte, NC, Doris Cluff and her husband, Chuck, of Townsend, and Donna Megginson and her husband, Jim, of Middletown; and 9 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, November 28, 2001, at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 209 Main Street, Townsend. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, Minquadale, New Castle. Friends may call 7-9 pm, Tuesday, November 27, 2001, at SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, Wilmington Manor, New Castle. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 pm.

W. Wesley "Wes" Wright
Mr. W. Wesley "Wes" Wright, age 83, of Wilmington, DE, died on Sunday, March 19, 2006.
A Delaware native, Wes graduated from P.S. duPont High School and the Wharton Business School. He joined Wilmington Trust Company in 1954, became assistant vice president of the trust department, and retired after 30 years of service. He served in the US Navy during World War II in the European and South Pacific Theatres. Wes was a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church, where he served as a church elder.
Wes was predeceased by his wife, Veronica Ann "Betty", whom he loved and cherished for 58 years of marriage. He is survived by his brother, Lewis E. Wright, of Smyrna; and will be sadly missed by nieces; nephews; their children; and wonderful friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 24, 2006, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where friends may call after 10 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.

Heather A. Burke Wolintos, age 25, of Newark, DE, passed away March 20, 2006 at her home.
She was an administrative assistant for Bernard Personnel.
Heather was a 1998 graduate of Christiana High School, where she played softball. She was a member of the Suburban Softball League from age 7-16, and a member of Holy Family Church. Her favorite hobbies were softball, bowling, fishing, and most recently, kick boxing.
Heather is survived by her husband, Justin M. Wolintos; her son, Jackson James Wolintos, at home; parents, Linda A. Burke, with whom she lived, and Austin "Bill" Burke, and his wife, Maxine of Bear; brother, Shaun M. Burke, of Charlotte, NC; maternal grandfather, Leon Zdanowicz, of Woodbury, NJ; godmother, Pat Thompson, of Deptford, NJ; mother and father-in-law, James and Diane "Dee" Wolintos, of Wilmington; sister-n-law, Amber L. Wolintos, of Wilmington; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Emma Darlene Wambsganz, age 81, of Dagsboro, DE, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006, at Green Valley Terrace in Millsboro.
Mrs. Wambsganz was born March 29, 1924 in WI.

Grace M. Turner, age 96, pa/ssed away peacefully at Linden Hall in Kennett Square, PA, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, March 18, 2006.
Grace was born in Bolton. England and came to the US as a child. She later worked on Wall Street in New York City, where she met her husband. In 1933, they made their home in Wilmington, DE. Those who knew Grace will remember her dedication to family and home, her love of animals, and her passion for learning and travel. She loved people and her heart was naturally open and generous. Of all qualities, she valued kindness.

Joseph Swyka, age 82, of Chesapeake City, MD, died on Sunday, March 19, 2006, at the VA Maryland Healthcare System in Perry Point.
Joseph was born January 8, 1924 in Chesapeake City, son of Leon and Mary Swyka. Mr. Swyka served in the US Army Air Corps. during World War II, where he was a member of the 447th Bomber Group. He worked for DuPont Company at the Glasgow, DE site as a millwright, retiring in 1980. He was also a member of the VFW in Chesapeake City.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Mary Swyka; sons, Joseph Paul Swyka, and his wife, Diane, and Michael Swyka, both of Chesapeake City; daughters, Mary Alice Weber, and her husband, Donald, of Chesapeake City, and Margaret Ann Swyka, and husband, Kevin, of Dover, DE; brothers, Nickolas Swyka, of Middletown, DE, Leon Swyka, of Middletown, NY, and Peter Swyka, of North East; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7-9 pm on Thursday, March 23, 2006, or at 10 am on Friday, March 24, 2006, at the R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 318 George St., Chesapeake City. Hannah Elspeth Shickley, age 19, of Ridley Park, PA, died on Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the scene of an auto accident, due to injuries sustained.
Hannah was the daughter of Dr. Timothy and Kristina Adam Shickley, of Ridley Park. She was a first-year student at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts bicentennial class. She attended Penn Children's Center for preschool in west Philadelphia and Lakeview Elementary in Ridley Park, where she excelled as a student in the learning enrichment program. She studied piano for many years with Beverly Kapanjie, sang in the choir of Christ Church, and was chosen for the prestigious vocal ensemble at Tower Hill under the direction of Jack Burnham. Hannah entered middle school at Tower Hill School, where she continued, graduating from the upper school in the Spring of 2005. While at Tower Hill, she won numerous awards including the music department music award for Vocal Arts and the Lisa Orienti Memorial Art award in 8th grade. Mr. Kirby Smith, head of the art department at Tower Hill, said this about Hannah's artistic talent at the award ceremony: "If you were ever to pick up a copy of Ralph Mayer's book entitled The Artist's Handbook of Materials and Techniques, you might notice a flaw in the plot - there isn't one. It's basically a long, long list of art stuff, and an even longer list of some things to try out with that stuff. No one ever reads this book. But the stuff referred to in it, when given capable hands and a mind like a tornado, allows Raquets things to happen - very, very good things. When these things happen by familiar people in public places, say in our gallery, crowds tend to gather out of a sense of wonderment and respect. The intention of this award, the Ehret Art award, is to publicly acknowledge our respect and gratitude to the owner of one of the most tornadic of creative minds in my memory - Hannah Shickley." Hannah continued to win praise and awards for the fine arts while in upper school at Tower Hill, including both a Gold Key award and an American Vision award in the National Scholastic Art and Writing program in 2003. She won Tower Hill's Haon award in art for 2004-2005. She won competitive selection to The Governor's School of Delaware in Fine Arts in 2004, and at graduation from Tower Hill, received the Ehret award for Fine Arts. In the fall of 2005, she completed a large commissioned work for the Wilmington Raquets Club.
Hannah loved volleyball and enjoyed tennis. She was an excellent marksman, shooting as a junior member of the Delaware County Field and Stream Association. She won the Junior Smallbore Range Championship 5 times before the age of 12. Hannah also did broader humanitarian work for Habitat for Humanity in SC as a volunteer, and here she met her dear love, Gregory Gnade, of Wilmington, DE.
In addition to her parents, Hannah is survived by her grandmother, Betty Shickley, of Nashville, IN; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was also the granddaughter of the late W.D. Shickley, and Robert L. and Gertrude Gallagher Adam.
Family and friends may call from 6:30-9 pm on Friday, March 24, at the WHITE LUTTRELL FUNERAL HOME, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park. The funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, March 25, at Christ Episcopal Church, Nevin St. & Sellers Ave., Ridley Park. Burial will be private.
