Roy R. Boucher, Jr.,
DuPont mechanic
Roy R. Boucher, Jr., 64, of Millsboro, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
He was the son of the late Roy and Mildred Boucher. He was employed 32 years with the DuPont Company, Edgemoor Plant, as a mechanic.
He loved to play golf and was a member of the DuPont Golf Team. Roy also enjoyed commercial fishing in Rock Hall, Md., riding motorcycles and woodworking.
He is survived by his companion, Lynn Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday March 9 at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on Long Neck Road in Millsboro.

Daniel P. Turvey,
National Guard veteran
Daniel P. Turvey, 36, of New Castle, passed away suddenly as the result of an automobile accident on Saturday, March 3, 2007.
Turvey. He was a 1989 graduate of St. Mark’s High School, was in the Air National Guard serving in Desert Storm, was a chief custodian for West Park Elementary and worked for the YMCA. He loved football, camping and disc golf. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Dan is survived by his wife of 12 years, Coleen E. Turvey; 3 daughters, Christine, Tiffany and Sara; mother, Mary P. Turvey of Lewes; father, George T. Turvey of New Castle; four siblings, Janice Christeson of Ohio, Timothy J. Turvey of Pennsylvania, Thomas G. Turvey of Newark, and Regina A. Minzer of Middletown; his best friend and nephew, Ian McLarthy; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing in celebration of Dan’s life from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, March 9 at First Assembly of God, 201 Hawthorne Dr., Wilmington.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., Friday, at the church.

Bernard “Wayne” Crowder, 63, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his friends and family, on Monday, March 5, 2007, at Seaford Retirement and Rehabilitation Center.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Carmel Crowder.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Crowder; his brother, Larry Crowder; his sister-in-law, Jean; a nephew, Alan L. Fogleman Jr. and his son, Alan K. Fogleman; a niece, Anita Lineweaver-Kinnikin and her daughter, Coty Lineweaver; and his aunt, Patsy Weeks and her husband Ted of Greensboro, N.C.
Interment will be Friday, March 9, in the Forrest Lawn cemetery , Greensboro, N.C.
Michael Mason Moore,
Vietnam veteran
Michael Mason Moore, 57, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Michael was born in Wilmington, on Jan. 9, 1950 to the late William G. And Gloria V. Moore.
He served in the U.S. Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam and was an employee of Sussex County for more than 25 years.
Michael enjoyed wood-working, especially projects which resulted in furniture for his home. He also enjoyed preparing gourmet meals for his friends and family.
Michael is survived by his wife of 34 years, Adrianne Moore and his son, Mason Z. Moore.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 9 in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery , South in Millsboro.
A gathering to celebrate the life and times of Michael will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 10 at the Manor House on Route 9 in Lewes.

Herbert S. Gee,
government worker
Herbert S. Gee Jr. of Long Neck, and formerly of Ft. Monmouth, N.J., died at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 2, 2007.
Mr. Gee was a retired government employee serving with the Central Electronics Command.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia R. Gee; two sons, Herbert S Gee, III of Biloxi, Miss. and William Gee of Indio, Calif.; a stepson, Jim Wootten of Bear; two daughters, Kimberly Myers of Claremont, Calif. and Cheryl Coe of Kirkwood, Pa.; a brother, Richard Gee of Pike Creek, and seven grandchildren.
Services were held at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck, with burial to be held at 11 a.m., Friday March 9, at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church cemetery , Polly Drummond Road in Newark.
Alan Darnell Taylor,

Alan Darnell Taylor, 46, of Selbyville, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, in Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mr. Taylor was born in Salisbury, Md., son of the late Willy Taylor, and Grace Mayfield Taylor, who survives him.
He was disabled but had been a worker in the U.S. Postal Service. He was an Army veteran and served in the Delaware Army National Guard.
He attended Zoar United Methodist Church, and Pilgrim Ministry and Church of God in Christ. He loved singing, poetry and football. Running was his passion, and he loved reading the Bible.
He was fun, energetic and lively. He loved life and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 11 years, Sherita Hall Taylor; a brother, Darrin Taylor of Rehoboth Beach; two sisters, Fayetta M. Blake of Rehoboth Beach and Dawn Taylor of Ft. Washington, Md.; a special niece, whom he raised, Metrical Gibbs of Selbyville; and his other nieces and nephews, Melody, Justin and Alex; and his great-niece Kennedy and his great-nephews, Alex and Alijah.
Services were held at Zoar United Methodist Church, Selbyville, with burial in Zoar Acres cemetery , Bishopville, Md.

Elma Brasure Cannon, 87, of Seaford, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.
Mrs. Cannon was born in Millsboro, daughter of the late John E. and Florence Baker Brasure. She had assisted her husband, Lester E. Cannon, with their family business, Farmers’ Supply Service Inc. in Bridgeville, until his death in 1995. They had been married for 53 years. Mrs. Cannon had been a very dedicated mother to her children.
She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Sheirer of Brownsville, Texas; a son, Edward K. Cannon of Bridgeville; two sisters, Reba B. Hoyt of Ellendale, and Elsie B. Mitchell of Milton; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by a sister, Elisabeth Hoyt, in 1982.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Friday, March 9, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, with Mrs. Cannon’s son-in-law Gary L. Sheirer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. Interment will be private at Bridgeville cemetery , Bridgeville.
William S. Garner Jr.,

William S. Garner Jr., 93, of Lititz, Pa., formerly of Kissel Hill, entered into rest at Moravian Manor, Lititz on Thursday, March 1, 2007.
He was born in Warwick Township, a son of the late William and Hattie (Stark) Garner. He was the husband of the late Marian (Hess) Garner.
He was the longest-lived male member of Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill. Mr. Garner enjoyed hunting, fishing, quoits, gardening and lawn work. In his younger years, he was a baseball player in the church league.
Before retirement, he worked at Hamilton Watch as a tool and die maker.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn L. Garner of Lincoln, and Bruce E., husband of Mary Jane (Wanner) Garner of Lancaster; a daughter, Fay E., wife of Ralph Wiest of Ephrata; two brothers, Walter S. Garner of Denver, and Ray E. Garner of Lancaster; four sisters, Violet Weit of Lititz, Reba Weit, Susan Huber, and Miriam Wolf, all of Ephrata; three granddaughters, Debra L., wife of Jeffrey L. Weit of Lititz, Diane J., wife of Jeffrey L. Futer of Hummelstown, and Amy L., wife of Mark Ware of Littleton, Colo., five great-grandchildren, Derek, Amanda and Jacklyn Weit and Kevin and Blaine Ware; and two step-great-grandchildren, Courtney and Philip Futer.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, at the Salem Lutheran Church of Kissel Hill, 26 Owl Hill Rd., Lititz, with Pastor David E. Klepper officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Katharine L. “Kitty” Stephens, 51, born and raised in Millsboro, passed away peacefully at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md. after a short illness. Kitty received her degree as a medical technician and worked for PRMC, InterVet and Schering Plough. Kitty is survived by her husband, Bruce P. Stephens; two sons, Bart P. Stephens and his wife, Ximena, and Curt A. Stephens; and by her mother, Norma L. Lingo. She is also survived by a brother, Clarence N. Lingo and his wife, Deborah; a sister, Vikki L. Blades and her husband Tim; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Stephens; and a brother-in-law, Ira Stephens and his wife Diane. Kitty was preceded by her father, Clarence N. Lingo; and her father-in-law, Preston Stephens.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Virginia M. Collins, 85, of Long Neck, formerly of Columbia, Md., passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2007 in Harbor Hospital, Baltimore.
Mrs. Collins was born in Newark, N.J., the daughter of the late Alfred Poole and Anna Harrison. She was a member of Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Oak Orchard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Collins in 2001.
She is survived by five sons, Thomas L. Collins and his wife, Valerie, Joseph H. Collins and his wife, Faye, William A. Collins, John H. Collins and his wife, Jane, and Kevin P. Collins; two daughters, Maureen A. Lengel and Kathleen C. Narango and her husband, Dennis; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, in Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Route 24, Millsboro. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery , Millsboro.

Wilbert V. Croes,

Wilbert V. Croes, 79, of Laurel, passed away Friday, March 2, 2007, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.
Mr. Croes was a proud veteran, serving as a medic in the U.S. Navy in World War II and later as a mess sergeant in the Maryland Army National Guard’s Salisbury unit. He retired from Dresser Wayne Industries, Salisbury, after 35 years of service.
He was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball and football. His favorite team was the Philadelphia Phillies.
Mr. Croes was a member of American Legion Post 18, Laurel, and of the Laurel Alumni Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Croes and Catherine Davis Croes Ruston; his wife, Ruth Thomas Croes; and a son, Gary Allen Croes.
He is survived by a son, Tom Croes of Laurel; three sisters, Joyce Ruston of Wilmington, Sylvia Gee of Long Neck and Bonnie Ruston of Georgetown; an uncle, Al Croes and his family, of Wilmington; a nephew, Jim Wootten and his family; and a longtime companion, Bertha Vanmeter of Salisbury.
Services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, in Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where friends may call one hour earlier. Ken Athey will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows cemetery , Laurel.

Florence A. Wingate,
retired bank officer
Florence A. “Miss Flo” “Aunt Flo” Wingate, of Lewes died Saturday, March 3, 2007, in her home. She was 91.
Miss Wingate was born in Laurel, daughter of the late Philip and Delema Oliphant Wingate.
She retired from the Farmers Bank of the state of Delaware as a trust officer in Lewes and Georgetown.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Lewes, working on many committees. A volunteer at Beebe Hospital, Lewes, in 2006, she received the Tunnel Volunteer Award, and also was a member of its Ladies Auxiliary. She was instrumental in the Tunnel Cancer Center at Beebe. She was a member of Soroptimists in Lewes and the Cheer Center. She enjoyed her bridge group and her prayer circle. She was a past member of Kings United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the 4-H Club and a Daughter of the American Revolution.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jasper Thomas Wingate.
She is survived by a nephew, Gerald Wingate Sr., and his wife, Virginia, of Millsboro; a great-nephew, Gerald Wingate Jr., and his wife, Kim, of Georgetown; a great-niece, Tammy Lee Rust, and her husband, Mark, of Millsboro; a great-great-nephew, Justin Rust, and two great-great-nieces, Jaclyn Rust and Kodi Wingate; and the Oliphant, James and King families.
Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, March 8, in the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where friends may call two hours earlier.
A celebration of her life will be 4 p.m., Thursday in Bethel United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Lewes. The Rev. Jack Cohen will officiate. Burial will be in Laurel Hill cemetery , Laurel.
