Mable Dudley, 79, of New Haven, departed this life August 10, 2007. She was the widow of Arthur Dudley.
Born in Pensacola, FL, April 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James Celestine and Amelia Campbell.
She is survived by sons, Alfred Dudley and Jimmy Smith; a daughter, Sheila Little; a brother, James Celestine; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by sons, Arthur Dudley and Henry Smith; 5 five brothers; and 3 sisters.
A celebration of Mrs. Dudley's life and legacy will be held Thursday, August 16, 2007, at 11:00 am at Thomas Chapel Church, 30 White St., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 9:00-11:00 am. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
George Blackmon
1924 - 2007
George Blackmon, 83, of New Haven, departed this life February 4, 2007.
Born in Greenville, SC, January 4, 1924, he was the son of the late Ebb and Jessie Blackmon.
Mr. Blackmon was honorably discharged from the US Coast Guard and prior to his retirement, was employed by the City of New Haven Parks and Recreation Dept.
George was a well known sports figure in the New Haven area for many years.
He is survived by a brother, Jesse Blackmon; sisters, Mamie Kelly, Doris Blackmon and Margaret Tucker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by brothers, Ebb Blackmon, Jr. and James Blackmon; and sisters, Catherine Dawson and Patricia Harris.
Funeral services to celebrate Mr. Blackmon's life and legacy will be held Monday, February 12, 2007 at 12 pm at Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 64 Marlboro St., Hamden. Friends may call at the church from 11 am-12 pm. Burial in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
Kiarra Monique Brantley

Kiarra Monique Brantley, age 2, of Mansfield St., New Haven, beloved daughter of Arthur Lee Brantley, Sr. and Kimberly Ann McGraw Brantley, departed this life April 21, 2009.
Kiarra was born in New Haven, CT, June 30, 2006.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brothers, Arthur L. Brantley, Jr., and Daequan Martin; her grandmother, Versie Johnson; aunts, Crystal Mabery, Caprece Warren, Helen Graham, Joann Alexander, Shirlean King, Carolyn Parker and Dee Smith; her godmother, Brenda Stevenson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clifton and Carol Warren and David Brantley.
A celebration of Kiarra's life will be held Monday, April 27, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Union Temple Church, 54 Platt St. (corner of Elm St.), New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Hamden Plains Cemetery.

Greta D. Darrison, 42, of New Haven, departed this life May 19, 2008.
Born in New York, NY, May 29, 1965, she was the daughter of Leroy Darrison and Rosie Thomas.
Ms. Darrison was employed at AT&T as a Clerk. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Nathan Darrison; daughters, Whitney Artis and Brittany and Tiffany Darrison; sisters, Jill Darrison and Rose Tinsley.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Jimmie and Priscilla Cooper; a brother, Tyrell Walker; a cousin, Jimiesha McKoy; an uncle, Jimi Cooper; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Nathaniel Dunlap

Nathaniel Dunlap, 59, of Arch St., New Haven, died on September 6, 2005. He was the husband of Ferrolyn DeRoche Dunlap.
Mr. Dunlap was born in High Point, NC, on January 4, 1946, son of the late Marshall and Mary Dunlap.
He had been employed by the US Postal Service and was most recently employed by the Jewish Home for the Aged.
He was a Marine Corps veteran.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Keith Joiner and Nathaniel Dunlap, Jr.; stepsons, Radcliff DeRoche and Aerial Boxill; stepdaughters, Patracia DeRoche and Ann Thompson; sisters, Josephine Wright, Minister Nester McCallum, Pecolia Melton and Minister Bernice Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hall is survived by siblings, George and Arthur Tuck, Carolyn Veney and Verdale Claughton; grandchildren, Tasha Gaskins and Travis Hall; a great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by a son, Keith Hall; and siblings, Wallace, Sylvester and John Tuck and Jennie and Marie Cash.

Linnie Tipton Avery

Linnie Tipton Avery, 72, of Portsea St., New Haven, departed this life, September 17, 2006. She was the wife of Carl Avery.
Born in Hamilton, OH, on February 1, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Irene Stokes.
She was employed by the New Haven Board of Education as a teacher's aide for 30 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Delbert Tipton, Gary, Marty, Valrica and Romona Avery; siblings, Charles Tipton (Lester), Lucille Benson, James, Flora, Felton and Delores Stokes and Claire Tucker; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Anthony "Fish" Avery and siblings, Horace Stokes, Rosalee Broyles and Dorothy Slaughter.

Melissa Malloy, 50, of New Haven, departed this life December 17, 2006. She was the widow of Jimmie L. Malloy.
Born in New Haven, CT, June 24, 1956, she was the daughter of Arlease Gibbs Edwards and the late Lee Edwards.
Melissa graduated from Richard C. Lee High School of New Haven, CT. She had been employed by CT VNA/Omni for 10 years as a visiting nurse, Pratt & Whitney as a polisher for 5 years and Firelite Alarms for 3 years.
Besides her mother, she leaves to cherish her loving memories, daughters, Queen L. Edwards-Smith (David) and Jameca L. Malloy; a son, Jimmie L. Malloy, Jr.; sisters, Christine Edwards and Shante Edwards; a brother, Jerry Edwards; granddaughters, Alazia Malloy and Melissa Smith; her companion, Ronald Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Melissa was predeceased by her sister, Ethel Edwards and three brothers, Bruce, Norman and William Edwards.
