Born in New Haven, CT, July 30, 1981, he was the son of Anthony P. Mason, Sr.(Monica) and Kim Boyd-Hunter (Ural).
He was employed at Percel & Sons Co. Anthony was a member of St. Martin DePorres Church and also attended Healing Nations in Christ Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Lanaiya Mason; sisters, Kristina Melvin, Demetra Boyd, Sharalle and Grabriaska Hunter; grandparents, Kenneth Mason, George and Evelyn Marshall and Percel and Marina Boyd; and other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Johnnie Mae Mason.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Anthony's life will be held Thursday, December 20, 2007, at 11:00 AM at St. Martin DePorres Church, 136 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven, is in charge of arrangements.
Michael L. Slade
1967 - 2008
Michael L. Slade, 40, of New Haven, departed this life January 31, 2008.
Born in Long Island, NY, November 20, 1967, he was the son of Edward Farmer and Annie Slade Sessions.
Michael was employed as a Bails Bondsman.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Tyler Akers; brothers, Daniel Slade, Harold Morris and Jayronn Sessions; sisters, Valerie Slade, Lynette Goodman and Pamela Parks; and other relatives and friends.

Bessie Mae Thompson
1925 - 2008
Bessie Mae Thompson, 82, of New Haven, departed this life April 30, 2008. She was the widow of John Thompson.
Born in Florence, SC, August 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Elliott and Rozena Byrd.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Special Claims Clerk and was a member of Clinton AME Zion Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories, sons, John and Mark Thompson; daughters, Debra Williams and Sherri, Sethe and Faithe Thompson; twenty-one grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Matthew, George and John Edward Byrd and Charles Harding; and sisters, Louise McIver, Matilda Brown, Carrie Cooper, and Elizabelle Edmonds.
A celebration of Mrs. Thompson's life and legacy will be held Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Clinton AME Zion Church, 96 Central St., Ansonia. Friends may call at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
James E. Lloyd, Jr.
1966 - 2008
James E. Lloyd Jr., age 41, formerly of Sherman Ct., New Haven, departed this life March 7, 2008.
Born August 9, 1966, in New Haven, CT, he was the beloved son of James Lloyd Sr. and Vanetta Lloyd both of New Haven. He was fondly known by his loved ones and friends as “Junior”.
James was a graduate of James Hillhouse High School in New Haven and furthered his education at the University of Bridgeport.
He was formerly employed by the City of New Haven Board of Education Child Development Program. James had a great love for children and he dedicated his life to being an advocate for children.
In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his memory his son, Erik Shurman Lloyd; a stepsister Cherisa Lloyd ; 3 nephews Jaylon, Terrence and Leroy; a niece Janaijah; a god sister, Crystal Beard-Morton (Timothy); a god brother, Billy Madden, Jr.(Marguerite) all of New Haven; a spiritual sister, Stacie Byrdsong (Elder Dr. Rafer Byrdsong)of Bloomfield, CT; his loving grandmother, Mrs. Evelyn Lloyd of Robersonville, NC; his spiritual grandmothers, Reverend Dollie Clemons and Mother Gloria Fraser both of New Haven; a special friend, Andrea Harris and her daughter Danielle Jackson of New Haven. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Rubinell Slade; Major Lloyd Sr. and an adopted grandmother Theresa L. Kimbro.
A celebration of James's life will be held Friday, March 14, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Temple Church, 285 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Mary F. Carmichael Mabry
1938 - 2008
Mary F. Carmichael Mabry, 69, departed this life February 21, 2008. She was the wife of Johnny Mabry.
Born in Winterville, NC, August 13, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Francis Joyner.
In addition to her husband, she leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Gloria D. Hicks-Harris, Shenika Williams, Deborah, Tameka and Kezia Carmichael (Fred) and Mary Thomas (Albert); a son, Ryan Carmichael; 7 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; brothers, Charles Joyner (Icslean), Richard A. Joyner (Jackie) and Joseph D. Joyner (Essie); and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by a brother, Jesse Joyner (Shirley).

James C. Ward

James C. Ward, 80, of New Haven, departed this life October 1, 2007.
Born in Dunn, NC, June 19, 1927, he was the son of the late Edward and Estella Grady.
For numerous years, Mr. Ward was employed by the State of CT, Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer.
He was a WWII Army veteran.
He is survived by his children, Joyce Faye McFarland and Doris Davis; brothers, Walter and Charles Grady; a sister, Edith Williams; a dear friend, Tracey Randolph; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Johnson.

Willie T. Allen, Sr., 64, of West Haven, departed this life January 10, 2008. He was the husband of Shirley Allen.
Born in Montgomery, AL, March 25, 1943, he was the son of the late James Allen, Sr. and Marcilla Allen.
Prior to retiring, he was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a Machinist.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Willie T. Allen, Jr. (Margaret) and Charles E. Allen (Yvonne); sisters, Millie Williams (James), Pearlie Jones, Velma Eaton, Beatrice Brantley, Ola Rountree (John) and Joann Sutton (George); six grandchildren; sisters in-law, Brenda and Louise Allen, Brenda Lee and Gwendolyn Roberts; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by brothers, James Allen, Jr. and Napolean Allen; and a sister, Rosie Stewart.

Willie F. Darden, Sr., 57, of New Haven, departed this life October 30, 2007.
Born in Greenville, NC, January 5, 1950, he was the son of the late Frank Streeter and Minnie Darden.
Mr. Darden had been employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.
He is survived by his children, Willie F. Darden, Jr., Le-Keshia Darden and Daryl and Maurice Whiten; his former spouse and best friend, Mary Darden Henderson; brothers, Paul, William Curtis, Jesse James and Alvin Ray Darden; a sister, Connie Darden; grandchildren, Taylor Darden, Antoine Gary and Darriel and Creasia Whiten; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a sister, Edna Farmer.

Elsie M. Barbour, 87, of Hamden, departed this life March 1, 2008. She was the widow of William Barbour, Sr.
Born in Morton, PA, November 10, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice Miller.
She is survived by her children, Carol Council and William Barbour, Jr.; a sister, Ruth Lee; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and other relatives.
She was predeceased by a son, Johnny Barbour; a grandchild; and several siblings.
