Deacon George Irvin, 93, of New Haven, departed this life on April 10, 2006. He was the widower of Willie Mae Irvin.
A funeral service in celebration of George's life will be held Monday, April 17, 2006, at 12 PM at God's Miracles Unlimited Outreach, 1441 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Friends may call at the church from 11 AM- 12 PM. Burial in Hamden Plains Cemetery.

Pastor John A. Good
1951 - 2006

John A. Good, pastor of Bible Gospel Center in Hamden, CT, passed away at his home on April 10, 2006. He was the husband of Gwendolyn Good.
Pastor Good was born June 10, 1951, in Union, SC, son of James Harold Good and Ruby Good. After relocating to New Haven, he graduated from Troup Middle School and James Hillhouse High School. He furthered his education by attending Miracle Valley Bible College in Arizona and later received his Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies from Logos Bible College and Graduate School.
Rev. Good and his wife Gwendolyn, have been pastors of Bible Gospel Center of Hamden, CT for the past thirty years.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Dev`on Bellamy (George Jr.); a son, Darius Good (Veronica); a grandson, Ajay Bellamy; a step-granddaughter, Chante Bellamy; a brother, Kenneth Good of Hamden; three sisters, Barbara Reed and Sandra Gibson of New Haven and Gladys Rainey of Waterloo, IA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by brothers, James Harold Good, Jr., Curtis Good and Lee Edward Good.
A Triumphant Celebration will be held Thursday, April 13, 2006, from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at Bible Gospel Center, 143 Leeder Hill Dr., Hamden.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.

Austin E. Lewis, III
1960 - 2006

Austin E. Lewis, III, 45, of New Haven, departed this life on April 23, 2006. He was the husband of Lila Lewis.
Mr. Lewis was born July 17, 1960, in New Haven, CT, son of Austin E. Lewis, Jr. and Annie Lewis.
He was employed as a certified nurse's aide.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a brother, Jarmein Lewis; a sister, Patricia Lewis; and other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, Michael Lewis; his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandfather.
A funeral service in celebration of Austin's life will be held Friday, April 28, 2006, at 10:30 AM at Macedonia Church of God in Christ, 151 Newhall St., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 9-10:30 AM. Burial in Hamden Plains Cemetery.

Nancy C. Barker
1925 - 2006

Nancy C. Barker, 80, of New Haven, departed this life on March 6, 2006. She was the wife of Lincoln Barker.
Mrs. Barker was born September 28, 1925, in Bethlehem, GA, daughter of the late James and Cammie Camp Jackson.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses East Rock Congregation.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Kathleen (Alphonza) Mazyck of Northford and Bertha Ruth Brooks of New Haven; a brother, James Jackson, Jr. of New Haven; sisters, Marvious Durden of Loganville, GA and Betty Little and Linda Dixon of New Haven; grandsons, Tyrone Barker of Orange Park, FL, Jermaine Mazyck of Stratford and Tavares Mazyck, Sr. of New Haven; 9 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Barker; brothers, Paul, Willie, Charlie and Howard Jackson and a sister, Ruby Faye Ragsdale.
A funeral service in celebration of Nancy's life will be held Saturday, March 11, 2006, at 9am at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Friends may call from 8am-9am. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Rev. Cora L. Hunt
1932 - 2006

Rev. Cora L. Hunt, 73, of Hamden, departed this life March 30, 2006. She was the widow of Marion Hunt.
Rev. Hunt was born July 19, 1932, in Hendersonville, SC, daughter of the late Arthur and Ruthie Robinson Fraiser.
She was a minister at Way of the Cross Church in New Haven and prior to her retirement, was employed at Yale New Haven Hospital.
She is survived by sons, Arthur Fraiser, John (Deborah) Mann, Gary Mann and M. Curtis Hunt, Jr.; sisters, Eva Fraiser and Masleen Copeland; a brother, Rev. Wardell (Lena) Fraiser; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rev. Hunt was predeceased by siblings, Ruth McMillian, Ruby Carson, Nell White, Virginia Gilbert, Arthur Fraiser, Jr. and Harry Fraiser.
A funeral service in celebration of Cora's life will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at 11 AM at Beulah Heights Church, 782 Orchard St., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 AM. Burial in Beaverdale Memorial Park.

Lizzie M. Elder
1932 - 2006

Lizzie M. Elder, 73, of New Haven, departed this life April 1, 2006. She was the widow of Steve Elder.
Mrs. Elder was born June 24, 1932 in Clover, SC, daughter of the late Raymond and Hattie Hall.
She was a member of Thomas Chapel Church where she served on numerous auxiliaries including the usher's board, mother's board, pastor's aide and choir.
Mrs. Elder is survived by sons, Tyrone Smith and Danny Hall; a brother, James T. Hall; sisters, Inez Hall and Dora Mitchell; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by siblings, Clyde, Wilma, Robert, Cordell and Maggie Bell Hall.
A funeral service in celebration on Lizzie's life will be held Friday, April 7, 2006, at 11 AM at Thomas Chapel Church, 30 White St., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 AM. Burial in Hamden Plains Cemetery.

Rever M. Lyles
1923 - 2006

Rever M. Lyles, 82, of Wallingford, departed this life on April 12, 2006.
Ms. Lyles was born May 23, 1923, in Halifax County, NC, daughter of the late Percy and Lena Taylor.
She was a member of St. Matthew's UFWB Church and prior to retirement, was employed by High Precision Co.
Ms. Lyles is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Lyles Ferrebee (Wayne); a sister, Naomi Blue; a grandchild, Jordan Ferrebee; and other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by brothers, Henry Hammiel and Raymond and Willie Taylor; a sister, Viola Beard; and her former spouse, Benjamin Lyles.
A funeral service in celebration Rever's life will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at 11 AM at St. Matthew's UFWB Church, 400 Dixwell Ave. Friends may call at the church from 10-11 AM. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Tyree Battle
1937 - 2006

Tyree Battle, 68, of New Haven, departed this life on April 7, 2006 at CT Hospice.
Ms. Battle was born on September 23, 1937, in Stapleton, GA, daughter of the late Obie and Annie Marie Burnett Battle.
She was employed by H.A. Leed Co. in Hamden and was a member of Restoration Rock Church in Bridgeport.
Ms. Battle is survived by a son, Richard Battle of Thomson, GA; a daughter, Belinda McClendon Bass (Rev. Wayne Bass) of New Haven; a special friend, Charles Rogers; a brother, Leroy Battle of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by sisters, Mattie Mae Hill and Ophelia Campbell.
A funeral service in celebration of Tyree's life will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in Thomson, GA.

Daphneth V. Grant
1936 - 2006

Daphneth V. Grant, 70, of New Haven, departed this life on March 25, 2006.
Ms. Grant was born January 1, 1936, in Jamaica, West Indies, daughter of the late Peter and Beatrice Grant.
She was employed by the VNA as a home health aide.
Ms. Grant is survived by nieces, Jorjett Barnett, Paula Jean Smith and Lorna Jordon; nephews, Patrick Malcolm, Michael Ball and Burly Grant; sisters, Beatrice Grant and Alice Kerr; and a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service in celebration of Daphneth's life will be held Friday, March 31, 2006, at 10 AM at New Haven Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 355 Humphrey St., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 9-10 AM. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

George Thomas Allen, Jr.
1916 - 2006

George Thomas Allen, Jr., 89, of New Haven, departed this life March 6, 2006. He was the husband of Etta Mae McBurrows Allen.
Mr. Allen was born August 16, 1916, in Palaski County, GA, son of the late George and Mary Duhart Allen.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Renzo Trucking & Rigging Co. in Orange as a truck driver.
He was a member of St. Matthew's UFWB Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Mary Ann Curtis and Jeannette (Robert) Coe; a son, John Thomas Allen; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; a special niece/daughter, Margaret Maynard; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Betty Jean Grant and brothers, Hubert Duhart and Joe and Curtis Allen.
