Joseph S. Balazsi, 81, of New Haven, formerly of Milford, passed away Tues., March 29, 2005.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine, two brothers and three sisters.
He was born in Bridgeport, August 26, 1923.
He served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II.
He was a machinist at AirVac Inc., formerly of Milford, and retired after 20 years.
Mr. Balazsi is survived by his stepson, Donald J. French of Hamden and dear friend and care giver, Marie Ackerman of New Haven.
Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Friday, April 1 from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral service at 7 p.m.
Burial will be private in Kings Highway Cemetery in Milford.

Jane L. Barton, 81, formerly of 42 Mather St., Hamden died Wed., March 16, 2005 at the Hamden Heath Care Center.
She was the wife of the late Robert E. Barton.
She was born in New Haven, June 18, 1923 a daughter of the late James Joseph and Olive Morton Lynch.
She had worked as a salad maker at the Whitney Center and she was very proud of her Irish Heritage.
She is survived by a daughter, Gail Barton Sudol of Hamden, four sons, Bruce Patrick Barton of Forestville, CT, James H. Barton of Chafee Lock, Ontario, Canada, Mark J. Barton of Meriden, Matthew R. Barton of Yalesville, CT, a sister, Olive Manship of FL, five grandchildren, Holly Bonwill of Ontario, Canada, Pamela Garcia of Bristol, Sean Sudol of New Haven, Joseph Barton and Molly Barton both of Yalesville, two great-grandchildren, Brian Patrick Garcia and Miranda Marie Garcia both of Bristol.
She was predeceased by a brother, James B. Lynch.
Funeral service Sat., March 19 at 10 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Louise Claire Borgnine, 97, formerly of Charlton Hill, Hamden passed away in the Chestelm Health Care Center of Moodus, Tuesday March 8, 2005 after a brief illness. She was born in North Haven June 21, 1907 a daughter of the late John and Tersilla Columbaro Borgnine and was employed as a legal secretary for the law firm of Clark-Hall & Peck for 50 years prior to retirement.
Louise resided in North Haven for many years before moving to Hamden in 1969 and attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Survivors include 2 nieces Viola Monaghan of OH, Evelyn Velardi of San Bernadino, CA, 4 nephews, Ernest Borgnine of Hollywood, CA, Donald Borgnine of Watertown, CT, Howard and his wife, Angeline Borgnine of East Haddam, CT and John Borgnine of North Haven and many great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister Lenna Harvey, and 3 brothers, Joseph, Camille, and Frederick Borgnine.
Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Saturday, March 12, at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10 AM.
Friends may call Friday from 4-8 PM.
Burial in Center Cemetery, North Haven.

Donald A. Barker, Sr., 77, of Worth Ave., Hamden, husband of the late Norma Jenkins Barker, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at CT Hospice.
He was born in New Haven, a son of the late Walter T. and Maude Elliott Barker and lived in Hamden since 1955.
He was a quality control manager at Camco Fittings Co. of Hamden for 30 years prior to retiring in 1994.
Mr. Barker was a member of the B.P.O.E. Hamden Chapter # 2224, a former member of Hamden Vol. Fire Dept., Co # 9, he served in the US Army during the Korean War, and enjoyed boating.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Lee Marks of Beacon Falls, a son, Donald "Sandy" Barker, Jr. of Hamden, a sister, Jean B. Hanley and her husband Walter Hanley of Hamden, 2 brothers John "Jack" Barker, Sr. and his wife Jean Barker and Walter Barker, Jr. and his wife Dottie Barker all of New Haven and 4 grandchildren, Jacob, Justin, Kathryn & Alyson Marks.
Also survived by a sister-in-law, Gloria Elliott.
Mr. Barker was predecesed by a sister, Rosolia Barker, 2 brothers, Frank & William Elliott and a sister-in-law, Jean Elliott.

Douglas W. Atkinson

Meriden - Douglas W. Atkinson, 79 of Crescent St., passed away Sunday, May 23, 2004 at Miller Memorial Convalescent Home.
He was the husband of Elizabeth (Pitcher) Atkinson.
Born Sept, 12, 1924 in Portland, Maine he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Melass) Atkinson.
Douglas worked as a Production Controller at Fafnir Bearing Co., in New Britain for 32 years retiring in 1983.
He was a verteran of WW II having served in the U.S. Army.
Besides his wife Elizabeth, he is survived by a daughter and her husband, Nancy and John Federkiewicz of New Britain, a son, Keith D. Atkinson of Meriden and three grandchildren, Aimee, Kyle and Adam Federkiewicz all of New Britain.
There wil be no funeral services.

Mary R. Baer, wife of Irving D. Baer of 58 years, of Linden Ave., Hamden passed away Sun., Sept. 26, 2004 in Yale New Haven Hospital.
She is survived by 2 sons, Irving "Buddy" Baer and his wife, Mary Ann of Prospect, CT, John R. Baer and his wife, Diane of Naples, FL, a daughter, Maryanne Baer-Hines and her husband, W. Peter, of North Haven, 2 grandchildren, Daniel Baer of Prospect and Casey Baer of Naples, FL, two sisters, Catherine Beaudoin of Bloomfield, CT, Grace Marsiliusen of Ft. Pierce, FL.
She was predeceased by sisters, Helen Lyons, Alice Betsold, Dorothy Burrows, and Elizabeth Boynton.
Mrs. Baer graduated from the Hospital of St. Raphael, School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and was a Nurse at St. Raphael's for several years.
She then worked at the Arden House of Hamden and retired as a Nursing Supervisor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10 a.m.

Meriden - Margaret Loehner Arnold, 87, formerly of 277 Curtis Street, died Tuesday, October 12, at the Skyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wallingford. She was the wife of the late Frederick Arnold.
She was born in Meriden August 18, 1917, a daughter of the late August and Elsie Graham Loehner.
She graduated from the Central Connecticut State Teachers College.
She taught Elementery School in Portland and Meriden.
She was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of Meriden where she served as President of the Ladies Social and Benevolent Society and was a member of Philathea.
She taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.
She belonged to the Church Women United and she did volunteer work for the American Red Cross.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet and Gary Chodkowski of Wallingford, Beth Oliver of Enfield, a son David and Judith Arnold of Suffield, a sister Catherine Johnson of Meriden, three grandchildren, Anna Chodkowski of Wallingford, Sarah Demarest of Wallingford and Lindsay Oliver of Enfield and a great granddaughter, Hailey Dow of Wallingford.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 14 at 11 am at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
The Rev. Dr. Robert Prescott-Ezickson will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove.
There are no calling hours.
