McClure 75, of New Haven, husband of 58 years to Virginia Griffin McClure, father of William Marvin McClure of Meriden and Clifton Eugene McClure of Hamden, brother of Stanley McClure of Atlanta, GA and Dorothy Lancaster of Mystic, CT, grandfather of Marva, Derik, Jenal and LaTanya McClure and great-grandfather of, Marshall and Jacari McClure. Also survived by a host of cousins and special friends. Percy was born in Tryon, NC, Nov. 26, 1928 a son of the late Eugene and Annie Whitesides McClure. He had been an automobile salesman for many years and had worked at Somers Pontiac, Partyka Chevrolet and retired in 1996 due to illness from Executive Honda of Wallingford. He had received many awards and was named top salesman on several occasions. He started riding horses as a preteen and became an avid horseman and expert rider and horse handler and had many friends at the Bethany Stables. He also enjoyed fox hunting and deep sea fishing.
Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 18, 2004 at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Friends may call prior to the service from 5-7 p.m.

Nella Pini, 77 of Evergreen Ave., Hamden died at her daughter's home on Long Island, Aug. 1, 2004 after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Renzo Pini and the daughter of the late Ermes and Marie Pincelli. Mrs. Pini was born in Italy, April 9, 1927 and came to the USA in 1956. She had been employed at Parva Products and Giering Metal Finishing. Mrs. Pini is survived by her daughter, Anita Andrews of W. Islip, LI, sisters, Rosina Pincelli and Lucia Zanellati and brothers, Aulo and Luciano Pincelli, all of Italy. She also leaves 3 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Thurs., Aug. 5 at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Hamden at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may call Wed. from 4-8 p.m.

Wallingford - Watson S. Bentley, 94 formerly of Bennett Rd., East Haven husband of Helen (Munck) Bentley died Thurs., August 5, 2004 at Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center in Wallingford. Born May 30, 1910 in New Haven, a son of the late Herbert and Grace Rand Bentley. Until his retirement he was a tool and die maker for the Ecklin Manufacturing Co. He was a member of the Hiram Lodge #1A.F. & A.M. of New Haven, the East Haven Senior Center's Bowling and Golfing clubs and the Harugari Singing Club. Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Susan and Peter Naumann and Carolyn and Gary Hebert, five grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Sandra Naumann, Laurel and Christopher Byrne, Kenneth, Daniel Sgro and his wife, Pam and Jonathan Sgro and his wife, Gwendolyn, and three great-grandchildren, Braeden and Mikaela Naumann and Juliet Byrne. He was predeceased by two brothers, Merton and Foster Bentley.
Funeral service Mon., Aug. 9 at 11:00 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may call Sun. from 5-7pm.

Plantsville - Donald A. Kannenberg, 72 of Saw Mill Lane, died in his home on Monday, August 2. He was the husband of Carol (Priebe) Kannenberg. He was born in Mishawaka, Indiana on August 9, 1931 a son of the late William H. and Violet (McLean) Kannenberg. He served his country in the U.S. Marines. He graduated from Meriden High School and attended UCONN and worked as retail manager for Western Auto in Massachusetts and Bridgeport, CT for twenty years and later retired from Jonal Laboratories in Meriden. After his retirement he drove the van for the Kuhn Center in Meriden. He was an avid gardner and bird lover, he belong to the American Legion Post #72 and was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Southington.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Pamela and Thomas Pappas of Meriden, Karen and David Biestek of Middletown, RI, three sons and their wives, Donald A. and Abby Kannenberg Jr. of Avon, CT, Richard and Nancy Kannenberg of South Hadley, MA, Thomas and Reisa Kannenberg of San Angelo, TX, a brother and his wife, Bruce and Gloria Kannenberg of Southington, ten grandchildren; Ross W. and Lauren R. Kannenberg of Avon. CT, Jonathan T. and Kaitlin E. Pappas of Meriden, Christopher and Michael Biestek of Middletown, RI, Stephen Baptiste and Nicholas Kannenberg of South Hadley, MA, Samantha and Sydney Kannenberg of San Angelo, TX. He was predeceased by a daughter, Katherine Kannenberg, a son, Kevin Kannenberg a sister, Florence Wright, three brothers, William, Robert and Harold Kannenberg and a grandson, Benjamin Kannenberg.
A funeral service Thurs., August 5 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church 145 Main St., Southington, CT. The Rev. Terry Wysong will officiate. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemtery, Meriden. Relatives and friends may call at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home 48 Cook Ave., Meriden on Wed., August 4 from 5 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Central Connecticut 40 East St., Plainville, CT 06062.

Branford - Margaret L. FitzGerald, 88, of Alps Rd. Branford passed away Sat., July 31, 2004. A retired school teacher, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Alice Symmes FitzGerald. Margaret was born in New Haven, Aug. 29, 1915 and was a resident of Hamden before moving to Branford in 2002. She was a teacher in the Hamden school system for 35 years, a lifetime member of the CT Education Assoc. and the National Education Assoc. A charter member of the National Egg Art Guild since 1978, she was affectionately known as the "Egg Lady". She was a communicant of St. Rita Church since 1924. Margaret was predeceased by a brother J. H. FitzGerald. She leaves two nieces, Marilyn M. Campbell and Patricia A. Dymarcik and their children; Paul Jr., Peter, Dennis and Gregg Campbell, David A. Dymarcik, II, and Alexandra "Missy" Mitchell, several cousins and many life long friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church, Whitney Ave. Hamden Wed., August 4 at 10 A.M. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.

Rev. Irvin "Sherm" Gagnon, 55, husband of Diane (Cronauer) Gagnon passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at MidState Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 8, 1949 in Fort Kent, Maine, a son of the late Conrad and Albina (Charette) Gagnon. He graduated from Assumption College, Worcester, Mass. He was ordained by the Augustinians of the Assumptionists in 1977 and he was received into the Episcopal Church in 1993. He was presently pursuing doctoral studies at Hartford Seminary. In his pastoral services Sherm ministered in New York City, Mexico City, Massachusetts, Maryland and Connecticut. Sherm was a devoted and loving father, husband and pastor and will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Bethany Gagnon of Meriden, three sons, Nathaniel, Anthony and Christopher Gagnon, all of Meriden; six brothers, Joel Voisine of Houlton, Maine, Carl Gagnon of Sidney, Maine, Garry Gagnon of Wallingford, Glenn Gagnon of Lincoln, Maine and Kevin Gagnon of Bristol; four sisters, Jennie Quellette of Houlton, Maine, Beverly Hebert of Fort Kent, Maine, Glenda Venable of Dover, Del., and Lisa Porter of Germantown, MD.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ Church Cathedral, 35 Chestnut St., Springfield, Mass., at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 31. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call Friday at All Saints Episcopal Church, 201 West Main St., Meriden from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. There will be a prayer service at 8:00 pm. Contributions may be made to the Hispanic Ministry in Province One in the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut or to the Gagnon Family Education Trust, Diane M. On Aug. 2, 2004 in Fort Myers, FL, Cynthia Lynn Anderson, formerly of Hamden, passed away after a valiant struggle with a long illness. Her son, Jacob Shaver, her daughter, Sandra Shaver and grandson, Damien Shaver, all of Fort Myers, FL, survive her. In addition, she is survived by her mother, Betty Anderson Miller of Hamden, sisters, Kathryn Anderson of Hamden and Leslie Kelly of Scott’s Hill, TN, brother, James Anderson, also of Hamden, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her ex-husband, Bruce Shaver. Cynthia was predeceased by her father, Robert F. Anderson and her stepfather, John Miller. Cynthia was born in New Haven, Dec. 11, 1953 and attended Hamden schools. Her special love was horseback riding. She moved to Fort Myers, FL in 1976 and raised her family there.
There will be a memorial service at Christ Lutheran Church, 600 Shepard Ave., Hamden at the earliest convenience of the family. Friends and relatives are invited to join them at that time.

Haynes, Jr. and his wife, Candice of Hampden, MA and gandmother of Matthew and Kristin Haynes. She was predeceased by sisters, Gladys Smith and Harriet J. Clark. Edith was born in Sweden, July 9, 1913 a daughter of the late Ivar Axel and Signe Maria Anderson Carlson. She lived in West Haven since coming from Sweden as a child. She was a longtime member of Christ Episcopal Church in West Haven and worked at the former Horwitz Dept. Store in West Haven for 8 years retiring in 1968.

Eric Olson of 1450 Whitney Ave., Hamden, and formerly of Rockwood Rd., Hamden died Friday, July 23, 2004 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the husband for 55 years of the late Ellen Anderson Olson. He was born in Varberg, Sweden on February 22, 1919, son of the late Arthur Olaf Helge and Anna Johansson Olson and was a resident of Hamden for the past 48 years. Mr. Olson was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army Engineer Corp. during WW II, in England, France, Germany and Holland. He received the Good Conduct Metal, The American Theater Campaion Ribbon, and The European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon Victory Metal. He was the owner of the Annex Flooring Co. of New Haven and later he was employed as a Custodian for the Town of Hamden, Board of Education. Mr. Olson was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and the VASA Order of America. He is survived by a son Karl and his wife, Nancy Olson of Hamden, daughters, Barbara and her husband, David Johnson of Hamden and Sharon Langevin of Morris CT, sisters, Doris Hentz of Hamden and Harriet and her husband, Sven Ljunggren of North Branford. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Christopher and Russell Olson, Kristian, Michael, Matthew, Daniel and Anna Johnson and Nicholas Langevin.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, July 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethesda Lutheran Church, 305 St. Ronan St., New Haven. Interment will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Graduated from Hopkins School in 1948 and from Trinity College in 1952. While at Trinity College he was in the Air Force ROTC. He joined the deWal Co. a family real estate and management company founded by his father and worked there until selling the business in 1978. He and his wife were longtime residents of Madison and later moved to New Smyrna Beach, FL and recently to DeLand, FL.
