Timberman, mother of Beverly Barnes of West Haven, Nancy Moore of Belfast, ME, step-mother of Charlotte Timberman of North Haven, Dennis Timberman of Hampton, CT and Timothy Timberman of Coventry, CT. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Frederick D. Guyette. Lois was born in Newport, VT, Jan. 27, 1912 daughter of the late Bert and Clara Curry Brigham. She had worked as a secretary at Olin Corp. for 25 years.

In New Haven, Oct. 4, 2003, Herbert W. Johnson of New Haven Ave., Orange, husband of the late Charlotte Smith Johnson, father of Linda Trudeau of Whitefield, NH, Susan Johnson of Orange and Martin W. Johnson of Killingworth, brother of Dorothy Root of Wallingford and the late Kenneth and Richard Johnson. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was born in New Haven, Aug. 31, 1922 a son of the late Wallace and Ruby Sharp Johnson. He served as a Corporal in the US Army during WW II. He was a supervisor of the stockroom at Stone Safety Electrical Co. where he worked for 23 years and retired in 1988. He was a resident of Orange since 1946 and was a member of the New Haven County Pomona-State Grange, American Legion Post 127 of Orange and a 75 year member of the Woodbridge Grange.

In Hamden, Oct. 5, 2003, Carl Robert Carlson of 75 Washington Ave., Hamden, brother of Ann C. Alhberg of Hamden and the late Ruth C. Sunblade. Born in East Haven, March 3, 1916, son of the late Idoff and Annie Carlson. An active member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church, he also was on the Board of the Swedish Aid Society. Carl served as an Officer in the US Navy during WW II in the South Pacific. He attended New Haven College after the war and was employed in the accounting department of the American Greeting Card Co. and later from 1956 to 1980 he worked for Yale University Alumni Fund. He enjoyed playing tennis.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Wed., Oct. 8 at 12 Noon. Interment in East Lawn Cemetery will be private. Meriden - Joseph J. Zemke, 84, beloved husband of 59 years of Sarah "Sally" Zemke of Catherine Dr., passed away in MidState Medical Center, Sat. August 30, 2003 after a brief illness. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Ryan of Waterford, CT, 2 sons, Peter J. Zemke of South Meriden and Joel L. Zemke of Guilford, CT, a sister, Frances Kindt of New Britain, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Amann. Mr. Zemke was born in Meriden, July 2, 1919 a son of the late August and Louise Nenninger Zemke and resided in Meriden for most of his life. Prior to retirement he was Chief Engineer for the Gaynor Electrical Co. of Waterbury. While employed there he was invited to serve on the U.L. Board and was responsible for several switch patients. he served in the US Navy during WW II as a submarine sonarman 2c and later attended Tri-State College of Indiana where he received degrees in electrical and radio engineering.
Joseph was an avid sportsman and spent quality time hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons. He was a member of the Stanley Budleski VFW Post #9965 of Yalesville and the WW II "Pacific Old Salts."
Funeral service Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003 at 10 a.m. a Hubbard Chapel at Walunt Grove Cemetery. The Rev. George True will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove. Friends may call Monday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. MERIDEN - Ella H. Glasnapp, 99, died Thursday, August 28, 2003 at Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center. Born in Meriden, Nov. 14, 1903, she was the daughter of the late Christopher C. and Henrietta Corves Glasnapp and was a member of the First Congregational Church. She is survived by many cousins, including Barbara Bober of Cheshire. She was predeceased by three sisters, Henriette L. Johnson, Fern Glasnapp and Maybelle Glasnapp; a brother, Christopher Glasnapp; and a niece, Linda J. Arndt.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements under the direction of the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.

In Cheshire, August 30, 2003, Alberta Bancker Cox Kaminski of 150 Cook Hill Rd., formerly of Laurel Street, West Haven. Wife of William S. Kaminski. Born in Woodhaven, L.I., NY, May 31, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary Emma Kent Cox. A graduate of Skidmore College in 1931, Mrs. Kaminski was a member of the Eva Lear Chapter and the Southold Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. A member of the First Congregational Church of West Haven, where she was a member of the Women's Study Group, which also called on shut-in members of the church. A devoted homemaker, she had served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and assisted young women entering the Job Corps. Beside her husband, Alberta is survived by: sons, Stanley N. Kaminski of Conroe, TX and Perry W. Kaminski of Mukilteo, WA, two grandchildren, three nieces and a nephew. Alberta was predeceased by a sister and a brother.
Funeral service will be held at the First Congregational Church of West Haven on Friday, September 5th at 10 A.M. MERIDEN - Leon Alfred DuBois, 82, of 104 Stoddard Drive, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003 at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth Webber DuBois. Born in Meriden, March 5, 1921, he was the son of the late Amos and Ida Zimmerman DuBois. He was employed as a toolmaker for 22 years at International Silver Company, after which he was employed for 10 years at Lyman Gun Sight in Middlefield, retiring in 1983. During World War II he was a member of the Coast Guard Band under the direction of Sid Caesar. He also played saxophone with several local bands. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Antique Veterans. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Karen Bednarz of Rockfall, CT and Judith Lawson of Vining, MN; three grandchildren, Janet Zielke of Berlin, CT, Bruce Bednarz of Rocky Hill and Eric Lawson of Vining, MN; two great-grandchildren, Melody Zielke of Berlin and Sydney Bednarz of Southington; and a close friend, David Gessert of Wallingford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003 at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Brinkley will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Blanche was born in Lawrence, MA, Aug. 22, 1907 a daughter of the late George A. and Clara Meda Sergeant Harris. She was a graduate of Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing in 1930. She was a registered nurse for Pediatric Associates of New Haven and retired in 1977. Was a member of the First Congregational Church of West Haven for 66 years where she was active in the Keystone Group of the church and a 56 year member of Easter Star Golden Rod Chapter #34 of West Haven.

Margaret Mackin Lucey, entered into eternal rest, September 5, 2003, after a long struggle. Margaret "Peggy" Lucey, wife of the late Donald F. Lucey, was born in Boston, August 9, 1915, to Jeremiah and Margaret Mackin. She received her B.A. at Emmanuel College and a M.A. in social work at Boston University. After many years raising a family, she took over as President of D.F. Lucey Associates, and export company, upon the death of her husband. A devout Catholic, she was a member of Saint Rita Parish for nearly forty years. A women of grace and strength, with an abiding sense of humor, she will be missed terribly by all her family. She is survived by her children, Margaret Thorne of Katonah, NY, Patricia Lucey of Brooklyn, NY, Moria Lucey of Arlington, MA, Donna Wiencek of Charlottesville, VA, Donald F. Lucey, Jr. of Greenwich, CT and Jeremiah Lucey, Jr. of New York City, her grandchildren, Henry Wiencek, Thomas and Jeremiah Thorne, James and Christopher Lucey, her brother Fr. Francis Mackin, SJ. of Chestnut Hill, MA and sister Kathleen Ring of Ireland. Other siblings, all deceased, included John Mackin of West Roxbury, MA, Thomas Mackin of Wellesley, MA,

Thomas Thorne and concelebrated by Margaret's brother, Rev. Francis Mackin, SJ. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden.

Mrs. Dorothy Develin Roessler, 90, wife of 52 years to the late Frederick Carl Roessler, passed away Oct. 6, 2003 after a brief illness. She was born in New Haven, July 16, 1913 a daughter of the late Samuel and Sarah Develin and had resided in North Haven since 1960. She was the loving mother of Carl F. Roessler of Las Vegas, NV, Alan Roessler of East Lyme, CT and the late Elizabeth Tiefenbrunn, grandmother of Paul, Alan, Kira and David Roessler and Deborah Hecker, great -grandmother of Alexander and Adam Roessler, Robert, Matt, Tim and Rachel Hecker and Jessica and Joseph Roessler. She was predeceased by 12 sisters and 1 brother. Dorothy was devoted to her family and during her life she enjoyed art, gardening, cooking, ceramics, astrology, and spending time with her family and friends.
