Branford - Pauline K. Chang passed away Tuesday January 30, 2001 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born on January 19, 1926 in Shanghai, China and lived in Szechuan Province before moving to Seoul, Korea. Her father and mother Kiusic and Soonai Kimm were prominent members of the Korean Independance Party opposing Japanese occupation. She graduated from Wellesley College and received her Ph.D in chemistry from the University of Michigan in 1955. She was a senior research associate in the Department of Pharmacology at Yale School of medicine, before retiring at age 62.
She is survived by her husband, Sung-Un Chang of Branford, CT, a daughter Suknan Sylvia Chang and her husband Robert W. Drane of Oakland, CA, a son Keunsuk Paul Chang and his wife Rini Georgekutty and their daughter Sophia, of North Kingston RI and her brother Jinsei Benjamin Kimm of San Antonio, TX. A private service will be held on February 2, 2001 at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave Hamden. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Marion Gilpatrick Beesley, 95, of West Haven, widow of William Patrick Beesley, died Wed. March 13, 2002 in the Mary Wade Home in New Haven. Born in New Haven, the daughter of the late Edward F. Gilpatrick and Jeanette Berry Gilpatrick. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Redmond Gilpatirck and Theodore Gilpatrick; 2 daughters, Jeanette Bunnell and Elizabeth (Betty) Crampton; and a son-in-law, Hank Bunnell. She is survived by one son, William Edward Beesley of Guilford and one son-in-law, Bill Crampton of Wallingford. She was a devoted grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., at Court St., West Haven, Saturday, March 16, 2002 at 9:30 a .m. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Father of Lenard Brown of Brooklyn, NY, Delphine Barnett of Brooklyn, NY, Nadine Parris of Wallingford and Marion Gulston, of Hamden.Sister of Madeline A. Brown of Hamden. Also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, six sisters-in-law, one son-in-law, one brother-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. Son of the late George R. and Marion Johannis Brown. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, June 15, 1926. Retiring from the City of New York Highway Dept. and the Board of Education in 1985 after 26 years.

Charles Catuccio, 62, of 491 West Main St., Meriden, died Monday, July 1, 2002 at MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of Joyce St. Laurent Catuccio. He was born in Waterbury, May 19, 1940 a son of the late Carl and Josephine Fulton Catuccio. He had worked for twenty years for a food brokerage firm in MA. before working at Creative Treasures.
Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Desiree Joyce Catuccio of Meriden, a brother, Patrick Catuccio of Waterbury, five sisters, Carolyn Porter of North Haven, Delores Catuccio, Geraldine Catuccio of Waterbury, Corine Sottosanti of Prospect and Bernadett Catuccio of Windsor, a step-mother, Anna Catuccio and several nieces and nephews.

MERIDEN - Mary Cantino Bauchmann, a longtime resident of Meriden, died suddenly at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on April 20, 2002. She was the wife of the late Harold J. Bauchmann and suffered a heart attack at the age of 87. Born in Manchester on Feb. 10, 1915, she was the eldest of five daughters of Angela and Peter Cantino. The family moved to Meriden and she attended Meriden High School. During the Depression, she was at times the sole supporter of the family, and was well known for her responsible work ethic. In 1940 she married
Harold Bauchmann, a young police officer at the time, whom she met at neighborhood gatherings, and they spent 58 years together as husband and wife. In their later years, they lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL, while maintaining their home in Meriden, until moving permanently to Florida in 1998. Mrs. Bauchmann was a leader of the Girl Scouts in Meriden and participated in the PTA and numerous school events for both her children. She spent may years, after her husband retired from the Meriden Police Department, as a highly recognized salesperson at G. Fox and then Filenes. She received many commendations based on customers' praise, and was frequently honored at store functions. She attended St. Rose Church while she lived in Meriden; in Ft. Lauderdale she was a member of Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church. In recent years she traveled extensively, often with her daughters. Attending an audience with the Pope in Rome was one of her best memories. Less formal events, sometimes resulting in humorous and surprising adventures, delighted her as well.
She is survived by her two daughters, Loraine Bauchmann of Harrison, New York and Nancy Brink of Falmouth, Massachusetts and by two sisters, Eunice Garetto of Roseville, California and Norma Ceraolo of Cliffside Park, New Jersey.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, May 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden. Following the mass, she will be buried next to her late husband in Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Mary Bauchmann's name to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
Michael "Mickey Dell" J. DelGiudice

Michael J. DelGiudice "Mickey Dell", 80, loving husband of Phyllis Hesselmeyer DelGiudice of 56 Westcott Rd., Hamden passed away August 12, 2001 after a brief illness. He was born in New Haven, Sept. 7, 1920 a son of the late Joseph "Banjo" and Margaret Canosa DelGiudice and had lived in Hamden since 1956. He was a well known orchestra leader and strolling musician with the "Mickey Dell Orchestra", entertaining in the New Haven area for over 60 years, most notably at the former Colonial House and the New Haven Country Club. He also taught music in the Prospect and Beacon Falls Schools for many years retiring in 1989. Mr. DelGiudice was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church of New Haven and was an usher for over 30 years, he was a 50 year member of the Day Spring Lodge # 30 A.F. & A. M. of Hamden, a member of the American Legion Post # 88 of Hamden, the National Education Assoc., the CT Education Assoc., the CEA Retired Teachers Assoc. and the New Haven Retired Teachers Assoc. He was a lifetime member of the American Federation of Musicians, the New Haven Federation of Musicians and the Hartford Federation of Musicians, and a former member of the Governors Footguard Band of New Haven.
Mr. DelGiudice served in the Army during WW II with the U.S. Army Band # 326 and after the war, he traveled with countless entertainers with the U.S.O. Band from New Haven to Chattanooga, TN.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David M. DelGiudice of Hamden, Stephen J. DelGiudice and his wife Felicia of Sandy Hook, CT and two grandchildren: Nicholas and Brianna DelGiudice. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Jeannette DelGiudice and Eleanor Carlstrom.
Funeral service will be Thursday, Aug. 16, at 10 AM in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 830 Whitney Ave., New Haven. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Service by American Legion Post # 88 at 6:30 p.m. Masonic service by Day Spring Lodge at 7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Branford-Barbara Eleanor Day, 83, passed away Saturday May 12, 2001 in Branford Hills Health Care after a brief illness. She was born in New Haven, January 27, 1918 a daughter of the late Lester S. and Amalia R. Naef Day and had lived on Vineyard Rd. in Hamden for 35 years before moving to Branford in 2000. Miss Day was a manager in the payroll department of the Southern New England Telephone Co. before retirement. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
She is survived by a niece, Betsy A. Day of N.Y.C., a nephew, Brien T. Day of Branford, a great niece, Carrie Day, and a great nephew, Eric Day. She was predeceased by two brothers, Warren F. Day and Richard Day.

In Hamden, Sept. 16, 2001, Rufus Darrow, 91, husband of Betty Cummings Darrow of 80 Thornton St., stepfather of Elizabeth Eppsteiner of Framingham, MA and Kenneth Schnelle of Oakland, CA, step-grandfather of Robert and George Eppsteiner. He was born in New York, NY, July 15, 1910 a son of the late Daniel Darrow. He was a graduate of Yale University class of 1933 and worked as a stockbroker for White, Weld & Co. and retired in 1975. He was a 53 year member of Racebrook Country Club where he was an outstanding golfer.

She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and Endicott College. She owned and operated the Absolute Typing and Transcribing Service for the last 20 years.
