BAZZANO
Louis J. Bazzano Jr., beloved husband of Deborah Namnoum of Newington, died on Monday, April 17, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta.
Born at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, on July 27, 1955, the son of Louis J. Bazzano Sr. and the late Joan (Murphy) Bazzano, Lou was educated in the Newington public schools where he was highly respected as a student and athlete. At Newington High School, Lou had an enjoyable career as a standout in varsity basketball and baseball. In his senior year, Lou was appointed co-captain in baseball and basketball, honored with the Coach's Award in basketball, named a Central Valley Conference All Star in baseball, and was selected for the state CIAC East baseball team. He also participated in American Legion baseball and was named Newington's Most Valuable Player in 1974.
Upon graduation, Lou received an athletic scholarship to attend Stetson University in Deland, Fla., earning a bachelor of arts degree in physical education in 1978. While at Stetson, Lou excelled as a second baseman, receiving top honors as tri-captain of the baseball team and earning the university's prestigious Outstanding Effort and Most Valuable Player awards in baseball. Following graduation, he taught physical education at St. Mary School and coached freshman soccer and baseball at Newington High School. In September 1980, Lou was appointed to his longtime teaching position in the Vernon public schools to teach physical education at Center Road Elementary and Vernon Center Middle schools and to serve as assistant baseball coach at Rockville High School. During the summer months, Lou and his partner, Art Wheelock, oversaw intramural sports programs, most notably, the "Catch the Fever Baseball Camp" established to help the young children of Vernon learn and improve their baseball skills. In 1989, he earned a master of science degree in physical education from Central Connecticut State University. For many years Lou played for the Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League, earning the Hall of Fame Golden Glove award in 1992. He was invited to participate in two tryouts with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
In January 1981, Lou was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, which he battled valiantly for almost 20 years. His family, friends, students, and colleagues loved Lou dearly. He touched the hearts of all that knew him. He was admired for his kindness and the courageous and positive attitude he displayed in his ongoing battle with Hodgkin's. Lou will be forever remembered for the fortitude he displayed following treatments by continuing to teach and coach the young people he loved and treasured. His wife and family are eternally grateful for the overwhelming support from the Vernon school system and community. A testament to the admiration for Lou by the Vernon youths is evidenced by the "LB" patches each Rockville High baseball player wears on his uniform, dedicating this season to Lou's fight against this disease.
Lou leaves his wife of 15 years, whom he cherished dearly and who will miss him very much. Lou also leaves his father and four siblings, AnnMarie and her husband, Jeffrey LaGrange, of Windsor Locks, James Bazzano and his wife, Margaret, of Newington, Loreen and her husband, Anthony Klotz, of Newington, and Elaine McDonald of Largo, Fla.; his maternal grandmother, Anna Murphy of Hartford; his devoted, loving in-laws, John and Lucille Namnoum of Newington, and their children, Jodie and her husband, Edward Ingalls, of Newington, The Doctors' James and Anne Namnoum of Atlanta, and Karen Namnoum of Marblehead, Maine; a grandmother, Carmela Telesca of Newington; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Saturday, April 29, from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Interment will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Willard Avenue, Newington.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, April 28, at the funeral home.

BOUCHARD
Cole Roland Bouchard, infant son of Paul and Kelly (Murray) Bouchard of Ellington, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Rockville General Hospital.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Chelsea and Keely; his maternal grandparents, Jackie and Michael Muzio of Ellington, and Robert and Priscilla Murray of Woodbury; his paternal grandparents, Roland and Myrna Bouchard of Ellington; and several aunts and uncles.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, at Ellington Center Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.

KELLEY
Logan David Kelley, born April 20, 2000, at Florida Hospital in Altamonte Springs, Fla., died Easter Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Florida Hospital-South in Orlando, Fla.
Survivors include Logan's parents, David and Michelle (Holmes) Kelley; and his brother, Nathan of Deltona, Fla.; paternal grandparents, Robert and Betty Kelley of Glastonbury; paternal great-grandmother, Jean Kelley of West Hartford; maternal grandparents, Lou and Judy Pantaleo of Deltona, Fla.; maternal great-grandmother, Phyllis Holmes of Manchester; and a great extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, April 29, at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester.

MILLER
Inez (Burnham) Miller, 85, widow of Arthur H. Miller, formerly of South Windsor, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at a local nursing home.
Born in Hartford on Sept. 4, 1914, daughter of the late David M. and Ruth S. (Simpson) Burnham, she had lived in South Windsor for 40 years before moving to Clearwater, Fla. in 1954, returning to the South Windsor area one year ago. Before retiring, she was the executive secretary for the Clearwater-Largo-Dunedin, Fla., Board of Realtors for many years.
Among her many nieces and nephews she leaves, James Roberts of Glastonbury, Kathleen Bister of Suffield, Barbara Mader of South Windsor, David Roberts of Durham, Marilyn Brunner of Camp Hill, Pa., and David Burnham of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and many grandnieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, with the Rev. Mark Abernethy officiating. Burial will be in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor.
Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, April 29.

PASEK
Agnes A. Pasek, 82, of East Hartford, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Hartford Hospital with her beloved dog, Maggie, by her side.
Born in Hartford, a daughter of the late Andrew and Albina (Kusy) Pasek, she had resided in East Hartford for the past 20 years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Royal Typewriter Co., Hartford, for more than 25 years.
Agnes is survived by her sister, Virginia F. Desmarais of Willimantic; two brothers, John Pasek of Bloomfield, and Ralph A. Pasek and his wife, Edythe, of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; a sister-in-law, Mary Pasek of East Hartford; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and a great-grandniece. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Joseph J. Pasek, formerly of East Hartford.
The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, April 29, from the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Church, 33 Church St., East Hartford. Burial will be in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.

RAGO
Edward "Eddy" Rago Jr., 30, of East Hartford, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 26, 2000.
Born in Hartford, he had resided in East Hartford for most of his life and had attended East Hartford High School. Eddy is survived by his parents, Eddie and Bette (Draugelis) Rago of East Hartford; a son, Jacob Cote of East Hartford; a brother, Tony Rago and his fiancee, Karen Buck, both of East Hartford; a sister, Missy Rago of South Windsor; paternal grandparents, Sonny Rago and Nellie Novak, both of East Hartford; maternal grandmother, Wanda Draugelis of South Windsor; a nephew and niece, Anthony and Vanessa; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be celebrated at noon Tuesday, May 2, at the Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
Relatives and friends may call prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, May 2, at the funeral home.
TOMILONUS
Mary Anna (Misuraca) Tomilonus, 87, of New King Street, Enfield, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at the Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton. She was the widow of Joseph Tomilonus, who died in 1987.
Born in Enfield, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Provenzano) Misuraca, she had lived in the Poquonock section of Windsor for 40 years, returning to Enfield in the early 1970's. Prior to her retirement in 1974, Mary had been employed at Arrow Hart in Higganum for 28 years. Previously, she had worked at the former Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. for several years. Mary was an active communicant of St. Patrick Church, serving as a member of the Altar Society, a church greeter, and a member of the Homebound Ministry and the Charismatic Renewal programs. She was also a member of AARP.
Mary is survived by her son, Joseph Tomilonus of Meriden; her daughter, Marilyn Gilbert of West Suffield; three brothers, Charles Misuraca of Naperville, Ill., Alfonse Misuraca of Ocala, Fla., and James Misuraca of Meriden; two sisters, Vin Connors and Josephine Karz, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven granchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Misuraca.
The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday, May 1, from the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock.
Mary's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at the funeral home.

GUDERNATCH
Amelia "Amy," "Milly,"and "Charlotte" (Lonabaugh) Daub Gudernatch, 52, of Tolland, beloved wife and best friend of Stephen Gudernatch, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at home.
She was born in Darby, Pa., on Jan. 12, 1948, daughter of the late Mary (Leake) Ward and Frank Lonabaugh. She was raised in Philadelphia and was a Tolland resident for 25 years. Amy received her bachelor's degree from State University of New York and her master's degree in chemistry from St. Joseph College, West Hartford, where she received the Founders Award for outstanding research in chemistry, and published that research on PCB analysis. She worked for more than 25 years at the state Department of Public Health, retiring as a supervising chemist. Amy was a volunteer leader in Daisy and Cub scouts, taught Sunday school for many years at United Congregational Church of Tolland, and was a helper at Parker School and Tolland Middle School. Amy considered her children to be her greatest accomplishment.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her beloved children, Sarah and Matthew Gudernatch, both at home, and Robert and Judith Daub of Chambersburg, Pa.; her newest pride, her grandchildren, Zane Harter and Alexandra Anne Daub, both of Chambersburg; her two sisters and five brothers, Sue and Steve Gronendyke of Tolland, Mark Lonabaugh of Vernon, Jim and Sandi Ward, Jack Ward, June Taffel of Pennsylvania, Walter and Jane Ward of Ohio, Frank Lonabaugh of Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and hosts of friends who will sadly miss her. She was much loved. She was predeceased by her brother, Bill Lonabaugh.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, May 1, at United Congregational Church of Tolland, Tolland Green, Tolland.
Burial will be in South Cemetery, Tolland.

PULCIFUR
Royce A. Pulcifur, 72, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Lillian (Jordan) Pulcifur, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 4, 2000.
Born in Mapleton, Maine, a son of Eunice (Pelky) Pulcifur and the late Lawrence Pulcifur, he had resided in East Hartford for the past 40 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a self-employed machinist for more than 45 years and the owner of the former A&RP; Manufacturing Co., Manchester, and Reed Machine Co., Glastonbury. He was an active 32nd-degree member and past master of the Daskam-Columbia Masonic Lodge No. 25, Glastonbury. He was a royal and select master of the Yorke Rite College and the Wolcott Council No. 1, both under the Pythagoras Royal Arch Masons No. 17. He was also a member and past patron of the Good Intent Chapter No. 17 O.E.S., Glastonbury, and a former member of the Scottish Rite-Valley of Hartford. Royce was a communicant of Hockanum United Methodist Church, East Hartford, where he was a former member of its finance committee.
Besides his loving wife of 44 years and his mother, Mr. Pulcifur is survived by a daughter, Nancy Pulcifur of West Melbourne, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Krista Pulcifur of Enfield; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Erlon and Teema Pulcifur of Mapleton, Maine, Lorne and Clara Pulcifer of Wallingford; four grandchildren, Gary, Jennifer, and Ashley Willems in Florida, Lyndsey M. Pulcifur of Enfield; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford.
A private burial will be held at River Hill Cemetery, Turner, Maine, at the convenience of the family.

KRIESKI
Lucy (Stickney) Krieski, 95, of Manchester, wife of the late John E. Krieski, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at an area convalescent home.
Mrs. Krieski was born May 5, 1904, in Palmer, Mass., daughter of the late Frank and Lucy (Dombrowski) Stickney, and had lived in Manchester most of her life. Prior to retiring in 1961, she was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, for 12 years, and previously was a supervisor at Travellers Fire and Insurance Company, Hartford, for 12 years. She was a communicant of St. Bridget Church.
Mrs. Krieski is survived by a son, John F. Krieski and his wife, April, of Ellington; a daughter, Lucille A. Lashetski and her husband, Edward, of Tolland; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 8:45 a.m. Monday, May 8, at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m., at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester.
Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.

ROBERT
Gladys (Quint) Robert, 75, of East Hartford, loving wife for 52 years of Joseph H. Robert, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 3, 2000.
Born in Windham, Maine, a daughter of the late George C. and Lula (Wescott) Quint, she had resided in East Hartford for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the East Hartford Board of Education. She was a secretary at East Hartford High School before retiring from O'Brien Elementary School. Prior to that, she had worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford. She was a former member of the First Congregational Church U.C.C., East Hartford.
Besides her husband, Gladys is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Ann Quint of East Hartford; a sister, Mildred Perra of Longwood, Fla.; a brother-in-law, John Horgan of East Hartford; special nieces, Gail (D'Abate) Ambrosino of Enfield, Sandra (D'Abate) Amirault of East Hartford, Rosemary (Quint) Tougas of Vernon; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Elmer, Ralph, Howard, and Carroll Quint; and five sisters, Leah Polito, Julia Clary, Thirza D'Abate, Hazel Strass, and Grace Horgan.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford, with the Rev.
Ted Mosebach officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.

OLESIK
Michael W. Olesik, 89, of Rockville, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at home.
He was born in Broad Brook, and was a longtime Rockville resident. Before his retirement in 1975, he was employed by Hamilton Standard. Michael was an Army veteran of World War II, a life member of American Legion Post No. 14, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his brother, Joseph Olesik of Rockville; and three nephews.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace.
Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, May 5.
