EVERETT
Earle Thomas Everett, 65, of Hartford, formerly of Manchester, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 13, 2000, at home. He was the son of Earle D. Everett of Washington state and the late Alice (Brown) Everett.
Earle was born in Hanover, N.H. After attending Manchester High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served as a paratrooper from 1952 to 1955, including service during the Korean conflict. Earle was a former member of the Manchester Police Department and spent more than 30 years as a realtor in Manchester. In keeping with his love and concern for children, he was appointed as a first coordinator of the Manchester Police Athletic League and later served as the PAL director. On May 1, 2000, he received the Manchester Police "Chief's Citation Medal" for outstanding performance of his duties as well as a Connecticut General Assembly Official Citation for Community Volunteer. After creating what was called the "best boxing program east of the river," he extended the PAL program to include over 20 sports and activities. Earle was a member of the Manchester Country Club, Neutral Corner Club, British American Club, a former Shriner, and former member of the Army & Navy and Elks clubs.
Earle will be dearly missed by his children, Rikki and Craig Carpenter of Tolland, Chris and Julie Everett of New York, Steven and Lynda Everett of Columbia, Scott R. and Evie Everett of Massachusetts, Randy and Chantal Perigo of Ellington, Michelle and Jose Colon of Hartford, Michael and Karen Everett of Stafford Springs, and Pam Meechan of Manchester; 12 grandchildren; his wife and friend, Elizabeth A (Wilke) Everett; stepdaughters, Debra Jackman, Betty-Ann Boiardi, and Sandra Noyes; five stepgrandchildren; two brothers, John Everett of Washington and Ernest Everett of Vernon; a sister, Flora Gerber of Arizona; and several nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester. Burial will be private later in the week.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, May 15, and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the funeral home.

GARRITY
Vernon E. "Pete" Garrity, 86, of Granby, beloved husband of Margaret L. (Jessup) Garrity, died peacefully in his sleep at Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Granby, on Saturday, May 13, 2000.
Born in Clayton, Mass., he was son of the late James and Lucy (Howe) Garrity and lived in West Granby and Granby for 51 years. Vernon was one of the original founders of the Granby Little League, and he also served on the Granby Ambulance for several years. He was a member of the Granby Lions Club and the Men's Senior Breakfast Club. He was an avid bowler for many years and a "true blue" Yankee fan.
He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sally and Fred Kotowski of Windsor, Joan Ferreira of Suffield, and Jean and Bob Cotton of Chalfont, Pa.; nine grandchildren, Mike and Carol Kotowski, Debbie Kleeman, Nancy Lansberry, Kathy Garrity, Sue Reidy, Trish Cerruto, Colleen Garrity, and Maureen Coleman; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Vernon P. "Bucky" Garrity. The joy of his life was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby. Burial will be in Granby Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 19, at the funeral home.

KIBBE
Margaret Lydia (Daniels) Kibbe, 76, of Billings Road, Somers, devoted wife of Norman F. Kibbe, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs.
Born in Somersville, daughter of the late Carl D. and Florence R. (Follansbee) Daniels, she was a lifelong resident of Somersville and Somers. Margaret was formerly employed as a secretary at the former Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Co. for several years. She was a member of the Somers Congregational Church and a past member of the choir. While a resident of Somersville, she had been a member of the Congregational Church. Margaret was a 50-year member and past lady assistant steward of the Somers Grange. An avid square dancer, she was also a member of the Somers Senior Citizens.
In addition to Norman, her husband of 53 years, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger N. and Patricia C. Kibbe of Ashford; two grandchildren, Brendan James Kibbe and Devin Quinlan Kibbe; a brother, Earl Daniels of Somers; and a sister, Dorothy D. Malonson of Boise, Idaho.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St. Burial will be in the West Cemetery, Somers.
Margaret's family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the funeral home.

MERCIER
Robert Y. Mercier, 48, of Manchester, beloved husband of Donna (Richardson) Mercier, unexpectedly departed this earth Saturday, May 13, 2000.
Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, on June 1, 1951, son of Blanche (Doyon) Mercier of Sherbrooke and the late Adrien Mercier, Robert came to Hartford at the age of 12 and was a graduate of Hartford Public High School. He became a U.S. citizen in 1981, and was a former owner and president of West Hartford Stairs for 15 years, leaving the business in 1995. He was a master stairbuilder who loved working with wood and enjoyed making sets for the C.A.S.T. Children's Theatre. He also enjoyed hunting, riding his tractor, and playing cards. Robert was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks, the Hartford Richelieu, and a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in Manchester. His family was most important in his life.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Robert Y. Mercier II of Manchester, Rebecca Anne Mercier of Willimantic and her fiance,
Matthew R. Duval, and Donald Mercier of Waterbury; his sister, Denise Mercier of Sherbrooke; a niece, Manon Thiviege of Montreal and her husband, Michael Vincent; a grandnephew, Jacques; his in-laws, Terry and Roy Lachmund of Manchester; a brother-in-law, Wayne Richardson of Walkersville, Md.; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends; and his business partners, Felix Lapierre, and Rejean Vachon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at the Church of the Assumption, South Adams Street, Manchester. Burial will follow in Manchester.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester, with an Elks service to be held at 6 p.m.

NOWAK
Anna (Pawlik) Nowak of Windsor Locks went into God's loving hands Saturday, May 13, 2000. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. Her husband, Aleksander, passed away in 1993.
She was born on July 26, 1916, in Poland. She had lived in Windsor Locks since 1960.
She leaves her daughter, Teresa Markuszka; a son, Stanley Nowak and his wife, Marta; a daughter, Irene Brzostek and her husband, Henryk; a son, Mark Nowak and his wife, Marianne; a daughter, Zofia (Sophie) King and her husband, Tom; and brother, Jon Pawlek, in Poland. She also leaves her grandchildren, Karl Markuszka, Anna Hasson, Robert Nowak, Anna Nowak, Mark Nowak, Edward Brzostek, Richard Brzostek, Richard Dabek, Elizabeth Tittarelli, Christopher Nowak, Brian Nowak and Michael Nowak; and 11 great-grandchildren who always put a smile on her face. May God love you and keep you, Mom. She was predeceased by her daughter, Alfreda Dabek, and son, Wieslaw Nowak.
The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, from the Heritage Funeral Home, 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, Suffield, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Suffield.

RICHARDSON
Bernice Margaret Richardson, a resident of Manchester for more than 60 years, widow of Ernest Samuel Richardson, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2000, at Manchester Memorial Hospital with loving family members by her side.
Bernice was born in South Windsor on March 21, 1913, the daughter of the late Paul and Julia (Kobylewicz) Koblect, and grew up in Rockville. Well known for her charm, beauty, and talent in the millinery business, Bernice owned and operated Janet's Hat Shop on Main Street, Manchester, for many years.
Bernice leaves her two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette Christine and Carl Fairbanks of Washington, D.C., and Arlyne Belle and Thomas Ansaldi of Bolton; six grandchildren, Pam Mickiewicz, Brad Richardson, Kristine Nowak, Jill Livingston, Eric Fairbanks, and Edward Ansaldi; and eight great-grandchildren, Justin, Alex, Ben, Greg, Allyson, Alec, Matthew, and Brett. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Eugene Raymond Richardson, and his wife, Betty; and her brother, Michael Koblect.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 E. Center St., Manchester. Burial will follow in the East Cemetery, Manchester.

SUCHY
Robert J. Suchy, 70, of Carney Road, Enfield, died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
He was born in New Britain, residing in Enfield for the past 42 years. Bob was the son of the late John and Agnes Suchy. He was formerly employed by the state of Connecticut Small Business Development Center. He retired six years ago. Bob was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He is survived by a daughter, Lynn Suchy of North Wales, Pa.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Wayne and Maria of North Guilford, Keith of Norwalk, and Gregory and Lisa of Willington; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Renee, John, and Nicole. He was predeceased by his wife, Carol (Siering) Suchy, who died Nov. 17, 1992.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield (exit 48 off I-91, Route 220 east 1 1/4 miles). Burial with military honors will be at the convenience of the family in the Enfield Street Cemetery.

UNDZELA
Frances C. "Cookie" (Skodinska) Undzela, 87, of Holyoke, Mass., died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in a local nursing home.
She was born and educated in Holyoke, and a lifelong resident. She was a communicant of Mater Dolorosa Church. Her husband, Walter W. Undzela, died in 1970.
She leaves two sons, Walter V. Undzela of Grovetown, Ga., and Frederick A. Undzela of Holyoke; two daughters, Kathleen Lancaster of Enfield and Jacqueline Robinson of Easthampton, Mass.; four grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the Starzyk Funeral Home, 16 Maple St., Holyoke, and at 9 a.m. at Mater Dolorosa Church, Holyoke. Burial will be in the Mater Dolorosa Cemetery, South Hadley.

WEEKS
Aline Virginia (Bursley) Weeks, 80, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at her home in Longmeadow, Mass.
Born in Stoneham, Mass., she graduated from Winchester High School and attended the Mary Brooks Secretarial School in Boston. She was employed by Provident Institution for Savings in Boston. In 1943 she married
Clarence H. Weeks, who was in the U.S. Army, and they moved to Louisiana. Following his discharge from the service in 1945, they moved to Pittsfield, Mass. In 1950 they came to Longmeadow where she had lived since. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Longmeadow, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Longmeadow Country Club, the Twin Hills Country Club, and Baystate Medical Center Auxiliary. Her husband, Clarence H. Weeks, who died in 1991, predeceased her. He was a co-founder of the Kelly Fradet Lumber Co.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Weeks of Enfield, David Weeks of Longmeadow, and Douglas Weeks of Ellington; one daughter, Candace Gallant of Longmeadow; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The burial will be in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield, with a private graveside service.
The calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow.
