DONOVAN
Robert E. Donovan, 81, of Somers, beloved father and grandfather, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 10, 2000.
He was born in Boston, Nov. 17, 1918, the son of the late John and Julia Connally Donovan. He graduated from Boston High School of Commerce and served with distinction in the Pacific with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Boston Fire Department for 10 years and then owned and operated Dome Fuel, in Dedham, Mass., for 30 years before retiring and moving to Connecticut 20 years ago. He was a communicant of All Saints Church, Somers, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Somers Council No. 4303.
He is survived by a son, James Michael and his wife, Maryann, of Enfield and their children Niem, Byron, Alexandra, Gunnar, Hunter, and Storm Donovan; a son, Kenneth Donovan in Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Eugene Zewatski and their children, Eugene and his wife, Patricia, Steven and his wife, Janet, and Maryellen Zewatski; a nephew, Robert Wetmore and his wife, Patricia, of Arlington, Va.; and close family friends, Phan Ly, Rita Sonski, and Linda Elrick. He was predeceased in 1990 by his wife of 46 years, Mary Francis (Mills) Donovan.
His family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Friday, May 12, at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. (intersection of routes 159 and 190), Suffield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at All Saints Church, Somers. Burial will be in Somers Center Cemetery.
GIRARD
Jeannette M. (Richard) Girard, 89, of Manchester, wife of the late Gilles E. Girard, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Girard was born Nov. 5, 1910, in New Bedford, Mass., daughter of the late Hervey and Concorde (Methe) Richard, and had lived in Manchester since 1931. She was a communicant of Church of the Assumption.
Mrs. Girard is survived by two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 12, at Church of the Assumption, 29 S. Adams St., Manchester. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
There are no calling hours.

HAMMOND
Grace (Raymond) Hammond, 90, of Stuart, Fla., and a summer resident of Enfield, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at the Enfield home of her daughter, Holly Fisher.
Born in Hartford, Grace was a former resident of Torrington, moving to Florida 30 years ago. She was the widow of William O. Hammond Sr.
She is survived by a son, William O. Hammond Jr. of Jensen Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Holly Fisher, with whom she made her home during the summer in Enfield; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at the con-venience of the family.
Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
HEINE-SCHWOERER
Rose A. (Doerr) Heine-Schwoerer, 95, of Manchester, wife of the late Alois Heine (1947) and William Schwoerer (1957), died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at her home.
Born Jan. 6, 1905, in Berkhausen, Germany, daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Heil) Doerr, she came to this country in 1924, settling in Nutley, N.J. Mrs. Schwoerer moved to Manchester in 1949. She was a member of St. Bridget Church, The Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella, as well as a member of the Manchester Grange No. 31.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry A. and Sharon Heine of Manchester, and William F. and Barbara Heine of Stonington; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara J. and Andrew Douglas of Providence; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters.
The funeral will be held at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Watkins Funeral Home, 142 E. Center St., Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 8 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in St. Bridget Cemetery, Manchester.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 12, at the funeral home.

KENNIFF
Lisa A. Kenniff, 45, of Manchester, died Sunday, April 30, 2000 in Manchester.
Born in the United States Panama Canal Zone, she had lived in Manchester for many years.
Lisa is survived by her parents, Robert L. and Patricia (Malloy) Kenniff of Manchester; a sister and her husband, Julie E. (Kenniff) and Daniel H. Fagan of Bolton; a niece and nephew, Sara and Patrick Fagan; her aunts, Mary Wilson of Beverly Farms, Mass., and Jeanette Kenniff of Cherry Hill, N.J.; and other aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
A memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, at St. Bartholomew Church, Manchester.
Burial will be private, and at the convenience of the family.

NOYES
Urve (Mand) Noyes, 61, of Steele Road, Enfield, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Urve was born in Estonia and was a former resident of Torrington before moving to Enfield 26 years ago. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, Enfield.
Urve is survived by a son, Chris Noyes of Enfield; two daughters, Lisa Noyes of Enfield and Kit Ouellette and her husband, Craig, of Somers; a grandson, Tyler; a sister, Heldi Heck of Windsor; and several nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, Windsor.

SMITH
Helen (Konarski) Smith, 72, of Rockville, widow of Charles L. Smith, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at a local convalescent home.
She was born in Vernon and formerly lived in Willington.
She is survived by her sons, John Konarski and Michael Smith; her daughters, Judy Rufini, Patricia Smith, Sandra Bond, Catherine Rajchel, and Helen Smith; her sister, Olga Prucha; several grand-children; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville. Burial will be in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington.

THEODORE
Frank L. Theodore III, 21, of Diamond Ledge Road, Stafford, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs.
Born in Hartford, he was a resident of Stafford most of his life. Frank was a graduate of Stafford High School, Class of 1996, and was employed as a dog trainer with his family at the New England K-9 Center in Stafford.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal (Labbe) Theodore; his expected baby boy; his father, Frank L. Theodore Jr., with whom he made his home; his mother, Donna (Robtoy) Charette of Windsor; his sisters, Chelsea Charette of Windsor, and Carissa, Callie, and Skyler Theodore all of Stafford; his paternal grandparents, Frank L. and Irene (Nolan) Theodore of West Palm Beach, Fla.; his maternal grandparents, Howard and Julie (Smarse) Robtoy of Windsor Locks; his aunts and uncles, Robin Rose and Stephen Carter, Cindy and David Clement, Carol Ganon, Cathy and Derek Small, Scott D. and Alitia Theodore, Bruce and Susan Robtoy, and Brian and Lauri Robtoy; and many cousins.
A memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 12, at All Saints Church, School Street, Somersville.

BURCKARDT
William Joseph Burckardt, 84, the husband of Marion R. (Caron) Burckardt, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Manchester Manor.
Born and raised in the Bronx, N.Y., he had lived on Long Island before moving to Manchester in 1979. William was a former supervisor with the Stone & Webster Co. of New York City. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New York and of the Manchester Senior Citizens.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jennifer Burckardt of Manchester; his daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Richard Manas of Bradenton, Fla., and Mary Jane and Robert Brown of Manchester; his daughter, Christine Dumont and her fiance, Corey Morelli, of Vernon; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert Burckardt of Texas.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, Manchester, with burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.

DZIATO
Pierina I. (Todeschini) Dziato, 87, of Manchester, wife of the late George J. Dziato, mother and mother-in-law of the late Patricia and Harold Bagshaw, and grandmother of Russell A. Bagshaw, the late Connecticut state trooper, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Dziato was born Aug. 25, 1912, in Higganum, daughter of the late Peter and Augusta (Testori) Todeschini, and had resided in Manchester for more than 60 years. Prior to retiring in 1976, she was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford. She was a parishioner of St. Bridget Church and was a special service volunteer of the National Red Cross, in the Nurses Aide Corps, Manchester chapter.
Mrs. Dziato is survived by a son, George L. Dziato and his wife, Claire, of Manchester; a daughter, Deanna M. Dziato of Glastonbury; a longtime friend, Jane E. Cunningham of Glastonbury; a sister, Adeline Nosal and her husband, Edward, of Higganum; five grandchildren, Cynthia Peterson and her husband, Alan, Edward Dziato, John Dziato, Robert A. Bagshaw and his wife, Rhonda, and Kenneth Bagshaw; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at Watkins Funeral Home, 142 E. Center St., Manchester, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
