LORD
Marie Yvonne Lord, age 90, formerly of Stafford Springs died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Blair Mannor, Enfield.
She was born in Canada and settled here in 1942 to make her home. She was employed at the University of Connecticut before her retirement. Yvonne was a member of St. Edward Church, Stafford Springs. She was the wife of the late Adrien Jee.
She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Roy of Shelton and Marie Ann Manzi of Springfield; a son, Adrien L. Jee of Spring Hill, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at Tocchetti Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St. Interment will be in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, following the following service.
Friends and relatives may call from 9 to 10 a.m., Saturday, March 18, at the funeral home.

DUMAS
Helene Dumas, 64, of Crystal Lake Road, Stafford Springs, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at her home.
She was born in Hartford, daughter of Felecia (Verizzi) Lulek of Las Vegas, Nev., and the late John Lulek.
Helene is survived by her loving husband of 48 years of marriage, Albert P. Dumas of Stafford Springs; five children, Debbie and her husband, Ronald Pinney, of Stafford Springs, Diane Dumas of Stafford Springs, Susan Russo of Enfield, Albert Dumas of East Hartford, and Kenny Dumas of Phoenix, Ariz; eight grandchildren; her mother, Felecia; two brothers, John Lulek of Las Vegas, Nev., and Phillip Lulek of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be private. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.

JAMES
Rosemary Margaret Quish James, 71, of 6 East Shore Drive, Black Point, Niantic, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, March 14, 2000, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Manchester, March 11, 1929, the daughter of William P. and Agnes Woodhouse Quish Sr. She married
Edward Michael James of New London on Feb. 3, 1951. She graduated from the College of New Rochelle, N.Y., in 1950 with a degree in psychology. She served on the board of Catholic Charities of New London for six years, and was president in 1971 and 1972. During her two years as president, she helped initiate bilingual programs for the local Spanish community. She was also a charter member of the Thames River Garden Club; board member and press reporter for the Visiting Nurse & Health Services of Connecticut; board member of the New London Day Nursery; member of the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; and past chairman of the Child and Family Agency, New London Auxiliary. She was the assistant director of the Counseling Center at the Waterford Country School from 1974-1976. During that time, she worked as a volunteer and initiated a "hot chocolate hour" where the young teen residents could come into an informal environment and talk with Mrs. James. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in New London.
In addition to her husband, she leaves behind four daughters, Claudia James of Arlington, Va., Maura James of Black Point, Niantic, Mary Elizabeth James of Stonington, and Margaret James-Venditti of Waterford; two sons, John James of New London, and Mark James of Hingham, Mass.; a brother, Raymond Michael Quish of Manchester; nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, William (King) P. Quish Jr.
The funeral procession will assemble at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic, and proceed to a Mass of Resurrection at St. Joseph Church, 17 Squire, New London, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.
Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, at the funeral home.

LAMBERT
Evelyn M. (Carlson) Lambert, 84, of Manchester, wife of the late N. Maurice Lambert, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Lambert was born Nov. 27, 1915, in Manchester, daughter of the late Carl A. E. and Violet (Sanderson) Carlson, and was a lifelong resident. Prior to retiring, she was an assistant collector of revenue for the town of Manchester. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Episcopal Church, and the Girls Friendly Society, and a member of the Town of Manchester Retirees and AARP Chapter 1275.
Mrs. Lambert is survived by a son, Jan Lambert of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two daughters, Laurie A. Lambert of Hollis Center, Maine, and Kathleen M. Lambert of San Francisco; a sister, Margaret Judd of Manchester; and a nephew, Collins Judd of Manchester.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in East Cemetery, Manchester.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, at the funeral home.

LEVACK
Russell E. Levack, 92, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Louise (Wiley) Levack, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Born in East Hartford, he had resided in South Windsor for the past 60 years. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of South Windsor; a charter member of the South Windsor Rotary Club; and a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner of the Scottish Rite. He was a self-employed local paving contractor and tobacco farmer.
Besides his beloved wife of 60 years, Mr. Levack is survived by three sons, Harvey W. Levack of South Windsor, Darrell W. Levack of Portland, and Rusty G. Levack of South Windsor; a daughter, Linda L. Dalpe of South Windsor; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the First Congregational Church, 993 Main St., South Windsor, with the Rev. Arthur H. Dunham officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery, South Windsor.
Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford.

PISCH
Eleanor J. Pisch, 82, of Manchester, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at Rockville General Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph F. Pisch.
Born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Beatrice (Condron) Spedding, she had lived in Manchester for many years. Eleanor was formerly employed at the Travelers and Aetna insurance companies and later worked for Dr. Don Guinan, Manchester Memorial Hospital at the switchboard, and for W. Glenney Co. She was an active member of the Manchester Senior Citizens, helping organize many bus trips. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. She was a communicant of St. Bartholomew Church and a member of AARP.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Janet Pisch of Manchester, and Judith Tirelli and her husband, Louis, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; her grandsons, Louis and Steven Tirelli of Saratoga Springs; her brothers, Robert Spedding of West Hartford and Theodore Spedding of Enfield; her sisters, Shirley Wolf of Manchester and Gertrude Hull of East Hartford; her sisters-in-law, Irene Pisch of South Windsor and Helen Dumas of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and mother, Eleanor was predeceased by her sister, Martha Sears, and her brothers, David and William Spedding.
A funeral service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, March 18, from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church, Ludlow Road, Manchester, with burial in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.

SECONDO
Giuseppa "Josephine" Secondo, 95, of Maple Avenue, Enfield, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at the Suffield House, Suffield, after several years of loving care.
She was born in Favara, Italy, the daughter of the late Gaetano and Rosa (Fanana) Arnone. She came to the United States at the age of 16. Mrs. Secondo resided in the Thompsonville section of Enfield for 79 years. She was the widow of Salvatore Secondo, who died in 1957. Josephine was a member of the St.
Patrick Church, Enfield, the Mount Carmel Society Women's Auxiliary, and the St. Joseph Society.
Mrs. Secondo is survived by five sons, Achille and Thomas of Enfield, Frank and his wife, Peg, of San Anselmo, Calif., Anthony and his wife, Patricia, of Enfield, and Louis and his wife, Barbara, of Longmeadow, Mass.; two daughters, Mary Landes of Terre Haute, Ind., and Rose Marek and her husband, Myron, of Enfield; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph.
A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 18, from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Enfield. Burial will be in St. Patrick King Street Cemetery, Enfield.
Her family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, at the Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, (Exit 48 off I-91, east on Route 220 for 1 1/4 miles).

BABCOCK
Virginia Hamlin Babcock, 88, widow of Frederick Earl Babcock and Henry (Bruno) Morabito, daughter of Jesse and Mabel Smith Hamlin, went Home on Easter Sunday, April 23, 2000.
Born in Portland, Maine, Nov. 19, 1911, Virginia moved to Connecticut in 1950, and was employed for 22 years by Arrow Hart & Hegeman.
She leaves three children and their spouses, Philip and Alice Morabito of Sacramento, Calif., Patricia Hurd of Reno, Nev., and Edward and Leslee Morabito of Hebron, with whom she made her home since 1993. She also leaves seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews throughout the United States. She was predeceased by an infant son, Carroll Morabito; her sister, Bertha MacDuffie of Massachusetts; and two brothers, Carroll Hamlin of West Simsbury, and Joseph Hamlin of West Baldwin, Maine.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m Friday, April 28, at Grove Street Cemetery, Grove Street, Rockville.

HILL
Amelia (Millie) Hill, 88, formerly of Suffield, passed away Monday, April 24, 2000, at her residence on Bayview Terrace, Wells, Maine. She was the widow of Harold Hill, who died in 1977.
She was born in Windsor Locks, daughter of Joseph and Victoria Tenero of Suffield. She lived the major part of her life in Suffield, where she attended Suffield schools, and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford for several years, and retired in 1973. Following her retirement, she and her late husband traveled to Wells each summer to assist her daughter and son-in-law at the Wells Beach Resort and Wells Beach Mini Golf. She was a member of Saint Mary Church of Wells. She was an avid gardener and wonderful at growing flowers, which was her number one hobby.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Griffin of Wells; a son, Roger Hill of Layton, Utah; five sisters, Anna Raccone of Windsor Locks, Jennie Tenero and Josephine Carmody of Suffield, Wanda Mascisak of Westfield, Mass., and Laura Troy of Salem, N.H.; one brother, Charles Tenero of Suffield; three grandchildren, Kevin Griffin of Wells, and Victoria Hill and Heather Thompson of Layton, Utah; two great-grandchildren, Gerek and McKenzie Thompson of Layton. She was predeceased by a son, Herald Hill Jr. in 1936; a grandson, Matthew Griffin in 1991; and a sister, Helen Lucas.
Family and friends will gather at 9:15 a.m. Friday, April 28, at the Nicholson-Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. (Route 159), Suffield, for a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Road, Suffield. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bridge Street, Suffield.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 26, at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 111 Chapel Road, in Wells; and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the funeral home.
