CROWE
Margaret Soucy Crowe, 89, a resident of the Altenheim Retirement Home in Oakland, Calif., died on Thursday, April 20, 2000. Mrs. Crowe had lived in Manchester for more than 30 years. Her loving husband, James M. Crowe, who worked for the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for 34 years, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Crowe was born in East Longmeadow, Mass., and grew up in Springfield, where she graduated from Cathedral High School in 1927. She worked at Brigham's Department Store before moving to West Hartford, and then Manchester after her marriage. Mrs. Crowe attended St. James Church and worked at the Hartford Fire and Insurance Co., and in the St. James Rectory. After her retirement, she was a volunteer for the Family Friends Program and the American Heart Association. She was a member of the Ladies of St. James and the Ladies of Columbus.
She is survived by her son, James M. Crowe Jr. and his wife, Terry, of Albuquerque, N.M.; her daughter, Erin Crowe and her husband, Kevin Ryan, of Oakland; four grandchildren, Sarah and Gabriel Ryan, and Devan and Hilary Crowe; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Her family will dearly miss her. She is predeceased by her brother, Edward Soucy of Florida, and her sister, Alice Whalen of West Hartford.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, at St. James Church, Manchester. She will be buried at St. Michael Cemetery, Springfield.
A wake will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 27, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. James Elementary School, or to the donor's favorite charity in memory of Margaret Crowe.
DUNLAP
Grace Yeomans (White) Dunlap of Coventry, who died Friday, April 7, 2000, at Fenwood Manor in Manchester, was the wife of Glenden J. Dunlap.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at the First Congregational Church, 1171 Main St., Coventry, with the Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating.

POORE
Stella M. (Walton) Poore, 54, of 24 Myron St., West Springfield, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, in the Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.
Born in Hartford, she was a baker for the Stop & Shop Store of West Springfield, and manager of the Myron Court Apartments, West Springfield. She was a graduate of Windsor Locks High School.
She leaves a son, Edmund R. Szol of Springfield; two daughters, Mary A. Lovett of Turners Falls, Mass., and Patricia A. Burdett of Bristol; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the Sampson Funeral Home, 710 Liberty St., Springfield. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Springfield.
Visiting hours are from noon till the time of service, Wednesday, April 26, at the funeral home.
PUIA
Ambrose "Amy" Puia, 79, of Springside Avenue, East Hartford, died Monday, April 24, 2000, at Riverside Health Care Center.
Amy was born in Hartford, son of the late Anthony and Victoria (Davoli) Puia, and lived in East Hartford, where he was with the Puia Bros. Plumbing and Heating Contractors. He later lived in Simsbury where he was a partner in and operated Simsbury Lanes before his retirement in 1998. He was a founding and 42-year member of the Central Connecticut Bowling Association, a life member and an officer and director of the State Bowling Association, and a member of the local and state Bowling Hall of Fame. Amy was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his former wife, Carmella "Millie" (Cataldo) Puia of East Hartford; his son, Victor J. Puia and his wife, Paula, of Windsor Locks; his grandchildren, Dino Puia and his wife, Denise, of Suffield, Marissa Carterud and her husband, Jeffrey, of Windsor, and Andrea Puia and her fiance, Guido Meade, of Beverly, Mass.; his great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Kayla, and Dina Puia; and his sisters, Carmella Cassello and Ann Logiudice and her husband, Harry, all of East Hartford. He was predeceased by three brothers, Carl, Frank, and Joseph Puia, and three sisters, Catherine Mancini, Christine Gorman, and Isabel Valsecchi.
Relatives and friends may gather at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, followed by a procession to St. Mary Church, Main Street, East Hartford, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, East Hartford.
His family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the funeral home.
McINTYRE
Edwin "Mac" R. McIntyre Jr., 69, of Mountain Road, Somers, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.
Born in Springfield, Mac was a resident of Somers most of his life. He was a graduate of Rockville High School and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service at the Somers Post Office for more than 25 years, retiring in 1996. He was a former member of the Somers Volunteer Fire Department, a charter member of the Rams Motorcycle Club, a member of the New England Trail Riders Association, and a member of the American Motorcycle Association. Mac is survived by two nephews, Paul Clark of Deerfield, Mass., and Alan Clark of Mentor, Ohio; two nieces, Laurel Kendrick of Hinsdale, N.H., and Barbara Smith of Ivoryton. Edwin was predeceased by three sisters, Jean Clark, Grace Clark, and Edwina McIntyre.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Route 190, Somers. Burial will follow in Somers Center Cemetery.
Mac's family will receive relatives and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the funeral home.

WRIGHT
Olga (Shostak) Wright, 67, of Moody Road, Enfield, the beloved wife of 50 years of Daniel L. Wright Jr., died Easter Sunday, April 23, 2000, surrounded by her loving family at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs.
Olga was born in Hartford and was a resident of Enfield for the past 40 years. She was employed by Hallmark Cards for 25 years, retiring in 1997. Besides her husband, Olga is survived by two sons, Daniel L. Wright III of Illinois and Gary J. Wright of Holland, Mass.; three grandchildren, Karen, Christine, and Erica; and a brother, John Shostak of Williamsburg, Va.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

FECKO
Della Verna Fecko, 87, of Main Street, Ellington, died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at a local nursing home. She was the wife of John Fecko.
Born in Sheppton, Pa., she had lived in Rockville and Ellington since 1953. Mrs. Fecko was a communicant of St. Bernard Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Eleanor Richardson of Florida, Marian Reutter of Ellington, John Fecko of Vernon, William Fecko of Manchester, and Joan Froehlich of Ellington; three sisters, Verna Klatka of Rockville, Ella Wirth of East Hartford, and Josephine Maizon of South Windsor; her brother, Edward Wasil in Arizona; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral procession will leave at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, March 18, from the Ladd-Turkington Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Route 83, Vernon, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Vernon. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Vernon.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, March 17, at the funeral home.

GRIFFIN
William J. Griffin, 75, of West Suffield, husband of Margaret (Sullivan) Griffin, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at his home.
He was born in West Suffield, the son of the late William W. and Marion (Sheridan) Griffin, and lived in West Suffield all of his life. He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a degree in business administration, and was employed at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Locks for 30 years, retiring in 1987. Bill was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Gilbert Griffin of Lady Lake, Fla., and Kenneth Griffin of Wells Beach, Maine; and a sister, Barbara Dorman of West Suffield. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Griffin, and a brother, Howard Griffin.
The funeral will be private. Burial will be in West Suffield Cemetery.

GROSSO
Paul G. Grosso, 88, of Southwest Avenue, Windsor Locks, husband of Bernice (Spurr) Grosso, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at the St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford.
Born in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, he had lived there for many years, moving to Windsor Locks 32 years ago. He had been employed as a master plumber at the state Department of Aeronautics at Bradley International Airport for 14 years. Paul retired in 1973, and was a member of the Connecticut State Employees Association, Chapter 410. Previously, he was employed for many years at the former Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Co. in Enfield. Paul was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and received the World War II Victory Medal and Army Occupation Medal. As a member of the 88th Division "Blue Devils," he was a gun crewman on a 105 mm howitzer and saw action in Italy, Yugoslavia, and Austria. He was also a life member of the Smalley Brothers VFW Post No. 6123 in Windsor Locks.
In addition to Bernice, his beloved wife of 64 years, Paul is survived by two sons, Paul J. Grosso of Farmington and Duane A. Grosso of Glastonbury; his daughter, Joyce Church and her husband, Clifton, of Windsor Locks; two grandchildren, Diane Church of Colchester and Thomas Church of Windsor Locks; and a sister, Ann Young of Longmeadow, Mass. He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Grosso, and two sisters, Elizabeth Crombie and Laura Perosino.
A private funeral service, and burial in Hazardville Cemetery with military honors, will take place Saturday, March 18.

KOWALSKI
Rudolph W. "Rudy" Kowalski Jr., 64, of Kingston, N.H., died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at his home.
He was born June 21, 1935, in Putnam, the son of Sophie (Charzan) Kowalski of Woodstock, and the late Rudolph W. Kowalski Sr. Mr. Kowalski was a graduate of Woodstock Academy, Woodstock. He lived in Connecticut for several years and in New Hampshire for the past 21 years, moving to Kingston in 1999 from Freemont. He was a training instructor for the Seabrook Station, Seabrook, N.H., for 17 years. Previously, he worked for the Pratt & Whitney Company and the Knolls Atomic Power Lab, both in Connecticut. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Connecticut National Guard, and was a member of the Kingston Veterans Club of Kingston. He enjoyed working with stained glass and was always on the go. He enjoyed driving his Corvette.
In addition to his mother, family members include his wife of 47 years, Betty J. (Newth) Kowalski, of Kingston; four daughters, Patti K. Chicky of Fremont, Kim K. Haer and her husband, Steve, of Johnstown, Pa., Heidi K. Diamond and her husband, Jeff, of Fremont, and Tracy Kowalski of Burlington, Vt.; and nine grandchildren.
An informal service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter, N.H. Following cremation, a private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited, and may call from 2 to 4, and at 5 p.m. until the service, Saturday, March 18, at the funeral home.
