Grandmother of Steve Fowler, Kate Fowler, Emily Fowler, Jena Greene, Wesley Greene, Elizabeth Bleecker, Jessica Bleecker, and Sabina Bleecker. Predeceased by her brother S. Russell Mink Jr. and her son in law Lt. Col. David Greene, USMC. Mrs. Bleecker was born in Bristol, Ct. on June 2, 1930, a daughter of the late S. Russell and Edith Ramage Mink. She resided in Pennsylvania and was a long time summer resident of Branford.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday November 3 at 3:00 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Malvern, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ct. Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, Ct. 06405 or to Surrey Services, 28 Bridge Ave. Berwyn, PA. 19312.

In Huntingdon Valley, PA, March 14, 2007, Ronald J. Bloom, husband of the late Pauline Fitzgibbons Bloom, of 253 Pepper Rd., Huntingdon Valley, formerly of Branford.
Father of Karen Stronk of Northfield, CT, Sean Bloom of Palmyra, VA, Sarah Ghantous of Huntingdon Valley, and Laura O'Brien of West Haven. Brother of Robert A. Bloom of Sherrill, NY. Also survived by 6 grandchildren.
He was born February 21, 1936 in Mansfield, OH, son of the late Richard A. and Gertrude V. Dugan Bloom. He was a 1958 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and he served as a Lt. in the U. S. Navy. He worked for Sikorsky Aircraft for many years as a program manager until his retirement. He was a former communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford, and he was past president of the New Haven area Notre Dame Alumni Association.
Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford Saturday morning at 8:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 9:00. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5 - 8 PM.

FROSOLONE, NICHOLAS
April 16, 2008
Nicholas Frosolone Jr., 81, formerly of 245 Concord St., New Haven, passed away April 16, 2008 in The CT. Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of the late Mildred Martone Frosolone. Mr. Frosolone was born in New Haven April 11, 1927, son of the late Nicholas & Anna Russo Frosolone. He worked as an assembler for Textron – AVCO Lycoming until his retirement in 1991. Prior to that, he was employed at the former High Standard Mfg. Co. in Hamden. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by a son, Nicholas (Regina) Frosolone III of East Haven; 3 daughters, Camille (Dawn) Frosolone of Florida, Roseann(Thomas) Clarino of East Haven and Michele (Gabriel) Varca of Northford; a sister, Jean Garrison of Hamden; and 7 grandchildren, Lisa Frosolone, Nicole (Jon) Valente, Jenny, Michele & Christina Clarino, Angela & Sal Varca. He was predeceased by 2 sons, Marc A. & James F. Frosolone; 4 brothers, Richard, Louis, Vito & George Frosolone; and 4 sisters, Rose Salemme, Jennie Dynderski, Margery Woodward & Marie DeLeo. Also survived by close friends, Michael & Paulina Katz. He will be sadly missed by his family.

Gertrude Dortche Robinson, 83 of 496 Elm St., New Haven, passed away April 10, 2008. She was the widow of Henry Robinson Sr. Mrs. Robinson was born in New Haven Feb. 27, 1925, daughter of the late James E. & Florence May Johnson Dortche. She is survived by a daughter, Lois A. Robinson of New Haven; a brother, Alfred (Evelyn) Dortche of Hamden; a sister, Florencia Alverez Gooding of New Haven; 6 grandchildren, Virginia Y. & Stacy R.C. Williams, Sheeva L. Nelson, Alexander C. & Bryonna N. Pinero and Ernest Boyd; several great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Henry M. Robinson Jr.; 2 daughters, Deidre L. Robinson & Rebecca J. Williams; 5 brothers & 7 sisters. Friends are invited to attend funeral services at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 885 Wintergreen Ave., Hamden Saturday, April 19th at 2:30 PM. MASELLA, BERNICE A.

Bernice Aurora Masella, 57 of Hamden entered into peaceful rest on April 1, 2008 in St. Raphael’s Hospital, New Haven. Born in New Haven May 31, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Bernice Lagos and Gaetano (Guy) Masella. Her father was a popular orchestra leader and served as Registrar of Vital Statistics in New Haven. Bernice graduated from Wilber Cross High School as the class Valedictorian, attended Rutgers and received her B.S. degree from Quinnipiac College. She worked at Yale as a Planning Space Coordinator until 2007. Prior to that, Bernice worked at SNET/SBC for 25 years and was manager of Planning in the Real Estate Department when she retired. She is survived by her devoted sister, Gail Masella Medina of Norwalk and nephews, David R. & Craig S. Medina whom she loved dearly. Also surviving are many cousins & relatives including her dear cousin, Nancy Amato and her husband, Nadir who spent countless hours caring for Bernice’s needs during her long illness, and her cousin, Christopher Anastasio. She will be missed by her pets, Bella & Phoebe who gave her great joy and love. Bernice was a jack of all trades. All who knew her benefited from her skills, talents and love.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk on Saturday, April 19th at 10:00 AM. Following the Mass, friends are invited to a gathering at the home of Charles & Linda Vinci, 162 Newton Ave., Norwalk. Norma Lynn Foti, 65, beloved wife of Richard J. Foti, NHPD (ret.), entered into eternal life on March 24, 2008 at her home. Born in Bridgeport on April 11, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Laura Peloquin. She was the beloved mother of Richard S. (Sheri) Foti of Cheshire, Kathryn (Paul) Piccirillo of Shelton, Joseph M. (Leslie Nadeau) Foti of East Haven and Eva-Marie (James) Blakeslee of North Branford.Also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Paul & Monica Piccirillo, James & Madison Blakeslee & Audra Foti. Sister of Elizabeth Pijar & Laura Kekac, both of Florida. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Ralph, Louis & George Peloquin and 2 sisters, Sandra Peloquin & Joanne Carroll. Claudia Ann Piccolo Glassman, 62, of 64 Champeaux Road, Brimfield, MA. died peacefully at home March 21, 2008. Born in New Haven, CT Nov. 13, 1945, she was the daughter of Albert Piccolo of Hamden, CT and the late Lillian Terrace Piccolo. In the last 12 years of her life, Claudia worked as an antique textile dealer. Beside her father, she is survived by her spouse, Karen Young of Brimfield; a son, Nicholas Glassman of Venice, CA.; a daughter, Emily Glassman of Seattle, WA.; a brother, Anthony Piccolo of Trumbull, CT.; 3 sisters, Alberta Sargeant of Huntington Beach, CA., Maria Stern of Marblehead, MA. & Michele Piccolo of Holland, MA.; and 2 grandchildren, Jonas & Gavin Ehrlich of Santa Monica, CA.and several nieces & nephews. Mrs. Redente was born in New Haven Dec. 5, 1918, daughter of the late Nicola & Louise Cimino Pappacoda. She is survived by a son, Andrew Redente of Fresno, CA.;3 daughters, Carmel Staplins of Guilford, Louise Siminausky & Concetta Russell, both of East Haven; 3 brothers, Michael Pappacoda of Fresno, CA., Louis Pappacoda of North Haven & George Pappacoda of East Haven; 4 sisters, Mary Altieri of New Haven, Fannie Torello, Lucy Mansi & Caroline Carrera, all of East Haven; 12 grandchildren & 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Vincent Redente and 4 brothers, Andrew, Anthony, Lawrence & Salvatore Pappacoda.

Ann “Tootsie” Martone Basilicato, 78, of 80 Sackett Point Rd., North Haven, died March 14, 2008 in St. Raphael’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Vincent A. Basilicato. Mrs. Basilicato was born in New Haven Aug. 13, 1929, daughter of the late Orlando N. & Rose DeMaio Martone. She is survived by a son, Anthony V. (Rowen) Basilicato of North Haven; a daughter, Diane C. Basilicato of Hamden; a brother, James (Margaret) Martone of East Haven; 2 very close friends, Amanda Frasier & Lisa Bozuchowski, as well as several loving nieces, nephews & cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Vincent M. Basilicato; 2 brothers, Anthony & Ciro Martone and 2 sisters, Rosella Balsamo & Mildred Frosolone.

WONG, RAYMOND P., MD

Raymond Peter Wong, M.D. of 57 Dexter Ave., Meriden passed away March 10, 2008 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Wong was born in New London on July 27, 1950, son of Chou Yok Tong Wong of Bronx, NY and the late Win Tin Wong. He graduated from Regis High School in New York in 1968; Fordham University in 1972; George Washington Univ. Medical School in 1976 and did his residency at Univ. of Florida. He worked in the Indian Health Service for 7 years, providing health care to Native Americans in North & South Dakota. For the past 20 years, he has worked at Hill Health Center in New Haven where he served in several capacities including as a member of the Infection Control Committee, coordinator of the Tuberculosis Project and as Chief of Internal Medicine, and was a clinical instructor at Yale Medical School. He spent two decades coaching youth soccer and basketball for the Boys & Girls Club of Meriden and the Meriden Soccer Club. In his spare time, he loved playing basketball with his children and had a great love for animals. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Meriden. Besides his mother, he is survived by 2 sons, Matthew R. Wong of Brooklyn, NY & Christopher Wong of Meriden; a daughter, Shelly K. Wong of Fountain Valley, CA.; and 2 brothers, Kenneth J. Wong of Fresh Meadow, NY & Thomas W. Wong of Bronx, NY. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Battel Chapel at Yale, College & Elm St., New Haven Saturday, March 15th at 11:00 AM. He was born in Branford August 4, 1926, son of the late Addison T. and Winifred Dudley Cooke, and was a self-employed builder. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II, a former Boy Scout Troop leader, and was a Deacon at the Church of Christ in Stony Creek.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Church of Christ, Stony Creek. Burial in Stony Creek Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday (TODAY) from 5 - 8 pm at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford.
