Amalia Cancel Reyes, 73, of 64 Mountain Top Lane, New Haven passed away May 1, 2008 in The CT Hospice, Branford. She was the beloved wife of Martin G. Reyes. Mrs. Reyes was born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico on July 17, 1934, daughter of the late Santiago & Felicita Cancel. She came to this country in 1958 and settled in Connecticut in 1975. At various times, she worked as a certified nurse’s aid at Montowese Health Care Center; was a seamstress for members of the NHPD; was a Bible Institute teacher and ran the summer youth program for the Private Industry Council at Second Star of Jacob Church; was a minister of Assemblies of God and was regarded as one of the greatest mothers of all time. Besides her husband, she is survived by 4 sons, Martin Reyes Jr. of New Jersey, Michael Reyes of New Haven, Rev. Marcos Reyes of West Haven & Carmelo Reyes of East Haven; 4 daughters, Maritza Diaz of New Jersey, Amelia Ayala, Maria Melendez & Deborah Quinones, all of New Haven; 34 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and several brothers & sisters, She was predeceased by 2 daughters, Janet Alejandro & Sonia Briones.
Friends may call at The Star of Jacob Church, 506 Howard Ave., New Haven Friday, May 2nd from 6 to 9:30 PM and are invited to attend funeral services in the church Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the family in care of Martin Reyes, 64 Mountain Top Lane, New Haven, CT 06513

Brother and brother-in-law of John and Carol Beach of West Hartford. Uncle of Kathleen (John) Lyons of Ipswich, MA and Jonathan Beach of West Hartford. Also survived by aunts, Elizabeth Quinn and Charlotte Sykes of Branford and Margaret Beach of Pasadena, CA.
He was born August 22, 1936 in New Haven, son of the late Samuel W. and Alicia Sykes Beach. He was a 1954 graduate of Branford High School, and a 1958 graduate of the University of Connecticut. He worked in the information sciences as a Project Manager for the Unisys Corporation in Lexington, MA for 32 years, retiring in 1991. He was an avid sailor in his sailboat “Black Irish” with the East Shore Sailing Club and he was a member of the New Haven Ski Club.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford. Burial in Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 - 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450.

Sister of Henry (Susan) Torcellini of Palm Harbor, FL, James (Santa) Torcellini of San Diego, CA, Joseph (Barbara) Torcellini of Branford, Charles (Connie) Torcellini of Pompano Beach, FL, and Paul (Sue) Torcellini of Hamden. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by a sister Eleanor Ozinsky.
She was born Feb. 26, 1914 in New Haven, daughter of the late Attilio and Adria Seidenari Torcellini. She was a retired seamstress for the New Haven Garment Co.
Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford Thursday morning at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery. Sister of Anna Santino of Queens, NY. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a sister Rose Wagner and a brother Anthony Coffaro.
Mrs. Berardi was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 17, 1921, a daughter of the late John & Mary Colletti Coffaro. She was a member of the Italian American Club in Branford and a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford.

He was born in Branford July 9, 1927, son of the late Simon and Priscilla Bartolucci Bernardo. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II, and he retired in 1986 from GTE where he worked as a telephone equipment installer.

Brother of Adam Biagioli, and Rena Willoughby both of West Haven and Elsie Baldelli of Derby. Pre-deceased by brothers, Norandino, Jack, Joseph and Nello Biagioli; a sister Evelyn Kokoszka and son-in-law William Finnegan, III.

He served in the Army in World War II, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 10186 and the American Legion Post 83 in Branford. He was a communicant of St Mary Church in Branford.
