Mother of Beverly Bernier of Shelton, and Billye White of Northford. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a brother Robert Maars, and a sister Agnes Williams.
She was born March 1, 1913 in Branford, daughter of the late Eric William and Ida Peterson Maars, and was a lifelong resident of Branford. She belonged to the Trinity Episcopal Church of Branford, and was a member of the Trifoleum. She had worked at the former MIF Co. in Branford as a secretary for many years until her retirement.
Friends and relatives are invited to a funeral service Monday morning at 10:00 in Trinity Episcopal Church, Branford, and may call Sunday afternoon from 3 - 5 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford. Burial in Tabor Cemetery, Branford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, 06405.

Mother of Elliott (Judie) Alderman of Branford. Sister of Kaaren Pitt-Klein-Robbenhaar of Clinton. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was born in Manchester, CT June 28, 1938, daughter of the late Clayton and Viola Vibberts Woodruff. She was a retired desk clerk at the former Branford Motor Inn.
Funeral service and burial will be private. The W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford is in charge of arrangements.

In New Haven March 13, 2006, Anthony G. 'Bob' Bescher, husband of the late Helen Tiffany Bescher of 4 Pawson Rd., Branford.
Father of Robin (Dan) Feerst of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Barbara (Colin) Bennitt of Branford, Susan (Felix) Cowey of Madison, and Toni (Jeff) Burns of Littleton, CO. Grandfather of Danielle Feerst, Ian and Megan Bennitt, Erin and Taylor Cowey, and Jennifer, Hally and Jeffrey Burns.
He was born in West Hartford December 15, 1928, son of the late George and Rose Jean Adinolfi Bescher. He served in the USMC in the Korean War. He was a graduate of New Haven State Teachers College, and received his Masters Degree in Education from Fairfield University.
He was an elementary school teacher in the Branford Public Schools, having taught at Short Beach School, Indian neck School, Pine Orchard School and Brushy Plain School. He retired as the Principal of Brushy Plain School (now Mary T. Murphy School). He was elected to the Branford Education Hall of Fame. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 83 in Branford, the Branford Historical Society, the Stony Creek Fife and Drum Corps, and was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford.
Funeral from the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford Friday morning at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6 - 8 PM.

Entered into eternal rest Wednesday December 27, 2006 at Ct. Hospice, Isa Atwater, 93, of 183 Hotchkiss Grove Rd. Branford. She was the wife and business partner of Louis C. Atwater who predeceased her in 1983. Mrs. A, as she was known to many, was born in Yalesville on January 26, 1913. She was a daughter of the late Hedley and Mary Jane Rowe. She was a graduate of Lyman Hall High in Wallingford, class of 1931. She lived in Branford for 66 years and was a partner in the Atwater Paving Company for more than 30 years. The family matriarch, she was a smart business woman and a hard worker, generous to a number of philanthropic causes, an avid gardener, an animal lover, a great cook, a creative designer of six homes in Branford, a highly perceptive listener, an intelligent conversationalist and a lover of ideas. She leaves two daughters, Edith Kane of Branford and Dawn Atwater-Haight of Stockton, CA. She also leaves five grandchildren: Kimberly Kane of Norwich, CT., Michael Atwater Stratton of New Haven, Richard Kane of Branford, Piper Isa Stratton-Gara of Pingree Grove, IL., and Wendy Stratton-Aleman of Corte Madera, CA. Great-grandmother of Sabra Drew Stratton, Nathaniel Hugh Stratton, Isa Ruby Stratton, Jack Stratton Gara, Caleb Michael Gara, and Sergio Atwater Aleman. Aunt of Ida Mae Iarusso, Mary Jane Obeir and Richard Rowe. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Rowe of Durham, Ct.
A graveside ceremony will be held at Branford Center Cemetery today, Friday afternoon at 1:00. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St. Branford is in care of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Ct. Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, Ct. 06405 or to the Sarah Endowment, 2488 Boston Post Rd. Guilford, Ct. 06437.

Anna Marie Allen DeLucia of 111 Webb Street in Hamden died March 17, 2005 at Cedar Lane Health Care Center. She was the wife of Albert DeLucia. Mrs. DeLucia was born in Summit Hill, Pennsylvania August 23, 1926 a daughter of late Richard and Sarah Allen and worked at SNET as an operator and then in the business office for 24 years. She is the mother of Albert (Gail) DeLucia and Pat (Karen) DeLucia. Sister of the late Katie Fowlston, James and Charles Allen. Grandmother of Steven (Valerie) DeLucia, Tara Ranciato, Jeffrey and Stephen DeLucia. Great-grandmother of Nicole, Jaclyn, Andrew and Caitlin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc., 11 Wooster Place Monday morning at 8:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stephen's Church at 9. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Yolanda (Rita) D’Agostino Annicelli, 84, of 177 Old County Road, Higganum, died Jan. 7, 2010 in Waters Edge Health Care, Middletown. She was the widow of Charles H. “Googie” Annicelli and was a former resident of New Haven and Milford. Born in New Haven Sept. 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Andrea and Filomena Panzo D’Agostino. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She is survived by four sons, Charles (Kathleen) Annicelli of Higganum, Andrew (Valerie) Annicelli of Milford, Dennis (Gale) Annicelli of East Haven and Anthony (Leith) Annicelli of Guilford; one brother, Andrew D’Agostino of East Haven; five sisters, Sarah Prodoti of Danbury, Antoinette Lauro of New Haven, Edith Angeloni of Orange, Josephine Murgo of Guilford and Michelina Grammatico of Hamden; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Alphonse and Venturo “Ben” D’Agostino; a sister, Florence Calamita and a grandchild, Trina Nafzger.

Anne Roark, 81, of 343 Eastern St., New Haven died Jan. 2, 2010 in The Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the widow of James E. Roark Sr. and was a former resident of 390 Belden Road, Hamden. Mrs. Roark was born in Astoria, Queens, New York on March 28, 1928, daughter of the late John and Georgia Maroukas Rougas. She worked as a waitress at Clark’s Dairy in New Haven prior to retirement. She is survived by a son, James E. Roark Jr. of New Haven; two daughters, Lynn Salvia of Denver, CO. and Eileen Roark of Cromwell, CT.; one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Linda C. Cenabre, 73, of 14 Westerleigh Road, New Haven died Dec. 27, 2009 in Yale New Haven Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Appri, Cagayan, Philippines on Oct. 5, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Mariano S. and Pilar C. Cenabre. She worked as research associate in the Dept. of Epidemiology at the Yale School of Medicine. More recently, she worked as a pharmacy technician at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was a loyal member of the Lay Fraternity of St. Dominic, formerly known as Third Order of St. Dominic. She is survived by two brothers, Rogelio (Herminia) Cenabre in the Philippines and Orlando Timoteo (Charissa) Cenabre of West Haven; two sisters, Hilda C. Cenabre and Eulalia C. Cenabre, both of New Haven. She was predeceased by a brother, Ciriaco Cenabre and a sister, Melinda Cenabre. Also survived by four nieces and three nephews. Mary A. Pedicini, 87, of West Haven, passed away suddenly on Dec. 27, 2009 while on a family vacation in Florida. Born in New Haven Aug. 24, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Enrico and Antonette Buono Pedicini. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a packer for the former Pond Lily Co. More recently, she was a volunteer in the gift shop at Whitney Manor. She is survived by her sister, JoAnn Vuolo of Hamden and several nieces & nephews. Marie Arpaia Amellin, 62, of 675 Woodward Ave., New Haven died suddenly at her home on Dec. 23, 2009. She was the wife of Vincent R. Amellin Jr. Mrs. Amellin was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Sept. 15, 1947, daughter of the late Gaspar and Helen Tobias Arpaia. Besides her husband, she is survived by a brother, Warren Arpaia of New London County; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. Private funeral arrangements are in care of The Celentano Funeral Home, New Haven.

TAMBORINI, CONCETTA (JENNIE)

Concetta (Jennie) Morico Tamborini, age 100, formerly of 169 Platt St., Milford and Fountain Terrace, New Haven passed away Dec. 17, 2009 in St. Raphael’s Hospital. She was the widow of Louis Tamborini. Mrs. Tamborini was born in New Haven Nov. 27, 1909, daughter of the late Liberato and Maria Ricciardi Velardi. She worked as a machine operator for the former Strauss Adler Co. for 13 years until her retirement in 1976. Prior to that, she worked at Berger Bros. Co. and at Seamless Rubber Co. She was a former member of The New Haven Council of Catholic Women, the Ladies Eucharistic League at St. Aedan’s Church and was a member of a bowling league at Berger Bros. On the occasion of her 100th birthday in November, she received congratulatory messages from President and Mrs. Obama, Sen. Dodd, and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro. Both Gov. M. Jodi Rell and Milford Mayor James L. Richetelli proclaimed Nov. 27th 2009 as "Concetta Tamborini Day". She is survived by two sons, John (Lucille) Morico and Robert (Marilyn) Morico, both of Hamden; two daughters, Lorraine (Robert) McNabb of Milford, Joyce Ruocco of Milford and her friend, Harry Forbes of East Haven; 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lawrence Morico; five brothers, Nicholas, Salvatore, Anthony, Ernest & Lawrence Velardi; and five sisters, Lillian LaVorgna, Theresa Rapuano, Esther Albinger, Josephine A. Ferretti and Anna Velardi.
