Margaret D. Taylor
(February 1, 1917 - March 15, 2012)
Margaret D. Taylor, age 95, of Stratford, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 in her home surrounded by family. Margaret was born in Bridgeport and has been a life long area resident. Predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Lewis Taylor, she is survived by her devoted son, Ronald Taylor of Norwalk and his brother Jeffery Taylor and his wife Susan of Hernando, Florida; four cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Jake, Jeffery, and Ryan; a sister, Beatrice Lattanzi of Stratford; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Thursday, March 22, from 4 to 7 pm at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 am on Friday at the funeral home. They will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name of Jesus Church in Stratford and the interment at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport.
James W. Francis
(March 6, 1956 - February 28, 2012)
James W. Francis passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2012 with his sister and niece by his side. He was born in Bridgeport, to the late Leslie P. Francis, Sr. and Rita E. Fici - Francis. James is survived by brother, Leslie P. Francis Jr, his loving sister Joan E. Francis, both of Bridgeport; goddaughter and niece, Serena Smith of Stratford, CT; aunt, Antoinette Fice of Haverhill, Massachusetts; cousin Jay Cutroni, and his wife Elaine, of Derry, New Hampshire, and a host of nieces and nephews. James is predeceased by his parents; a sister, Sheila A. Francis-Smith, and his faithful companion, Cocoa. James’ extended family includes Frances and Clifton Andrade and their daughters Donna, Lora, Linda, and Peggie. The Francis family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Jimmy’s friends at Lacey Manufacturing, where he worked for 20 years. We will all miss you and always love you. It's not that you weren't strong or that you didn't have what it takes to get through. But you built enough character already and I guess it was time for things to lighten up a little! I know it was not my call, but if I were in charge of life’s wheel of fortune you'd get a free spin and I'd be right there, as always cheering you on! You were more than my brother- you were my twin, my right hand, my best friend. James, I'll love you forever. Joannie. The church service will take place at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Church located at 275 Union Ave., Bridgeport, CT. A reception will follow at 4:00pm in the Church Hall. Julia Lesko Kasinak
(May 30, 1917 - March 12, 2012)
Julia (Julie) Lesko Kasinak, 94, of Fairfield, formerly of Nichols Avenue, Stratford, died on March 12, 2012 at Cambridge Manor. She was married
to the late John G. Kasinak for 43 years. Born in Bridgeport, May 30, 1917, Julie was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Dzurenda Lesko. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking and baking. She also worked part time for many years at the Wonder Bar Restaurant and Patsy Guerrera Tailors in Bridgeport. She had been a long time parishioner of the former St. John Nepomucene Church where she was a member of the Guild of Our Lady of Fatima. A communicant of Holy Name of Jesus Church, she was a member of the Guild of the Mother of Jesus, and the Holy Name Seniors with whom she bowled many years with at the Barnum Duckpin Bowling Lanes. She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Caple and her husband Bill, of Stratford, Mary Lou Walsh of Fairfield and Jacqueline Warren of Northford; two brothers, Edward Lesko and his wife Margaret, of Bridgeport and Nicholas Lesko and his wife Frances of Stratford; one sister-in-law, Mary Guman Lesko, five grandchildren, William J. Caple and his wife Alice of Ansonia, Mary Beth Caple Kovacs and her husband Greg of Seymour, Karyn Caple McCarthy and her husband Ken of Monroe, Shannon Walsh Gershel and her husband Ben of Monroe and Brian Walsh and his wife Laurel of Trumbull, eight great-grandchildren, William, Michael and Kaitlyn Caple, Lauren Kovacs, Tyler, Kelly and Jenna McCarthy, and Lindsey Gershel; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Robert C. Walsh, three brothers, George, Michael and William Lesko, one sister, Frances Lesko Brotherton and one sister-in-law, Estelle Mascola Lesko. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and special thanks to the many staff at Cambridge Manor, who, over the years, took such special care of Julie. Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 16th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
Barbara Ann Mikulka Reinhardt
(August 23, 1950 - March 12, 2012)
Barbara Ann Mikulka Reinhardt, age 61, of Hamden, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 in Yale New Haven Medical Center. Barbara, a retired sales representative for Standard Oil of Connecticut, was born in Bridgeport to the late John M. and Marie Holodnak Mikulka and had been a life long area resident. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Girls High School and Housatonic Community College. Barbara was an avid reader, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her adored grandchildren. Survivors include her devoted children Ronald Mikulka and his wife Rebecca of North Carolina, Pamela Mikulka-Borges and her husband Duarte of Stratford, Suzanne Reinhardt-Adan and her husband Chris of Hamden, and John Reinhardt and his wife Vanessa of Alaska, 8 cherished grandchildren Carly, Logan, Alyssa, Andre, Luke, Abigael, Hannah, and Jacob. Friends may greet her family on Wednesday, March 14th from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. All other services and interment will be private. Theresa Gasciewicz
(August 20, 1934 - March 8, 2012)
Gasciewicz - Theresa Gasciewicz, age 77, of Stratford, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born in St. Agatha, Maine to the late Remie and Gertrude Boucher. Theresa moved to Bridgeport, CT where she met her late husband Mieczyslaw (Michael) Gasciewicz while employed at Warnaco in Bridgeport. She was also employed at Remington Arms and retired from Cornwall Patterson in Bridgeport. Theresa enjoyed taking her daily long walks, spending time watching movies, and playing pinochle. Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Toth and her husband Peter of Trumbull, Teresa Hoffman of Milford and Michelle Pastor and her husband Vincent of Stratford; seven grandchildren, Peter, Jonathan and Amanda Toth, Ashlee, Vincent, Jillian and Michael Pastor, whom she loved dearly; her sister, Marie Artibani of Bristol CT; and several nieces and nephews. The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County, 753 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604 in the memory of Theresa Gasciewicz. Rose Gallo

Rose Gallo, age 99 of Stratford the beloved widow of Frank Gallo passed away in her home on Thursday, March 8, 2012. Born in New York, NY on May 24, 1912 to the late Gennaro and Josephine (DeRosa) Calabritto she has been a longtime Stratford resident. She was a local seamstress, and real Estate Broker. She was also very active in the Republican Party and served as the Registrar of Voters in Stratford. Rose was predeceased by two sisters Anna Yakoubian and Angela D’Alessio and a brother Edward Calabritto. Survivors include her beloved daughter Angela Gallo of Harwinton, CT and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Rose’s caregiver Grace. Sally Washburn
(February 6, 1915 - March 7, 2012)
Sally Washburn, age 97, of Stratford, CT, peacefully passed away on Wednesday March 7th in Bridgeport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley J Washburn "Gramps." Sally was born in Utica, NY to the late Louis and Anna Zyla. At a young age Sally moved to Bridgeport, CT with her parents and siblings. She was a devoted mother to son James Washburn and his wife Barbara of Jewett City, CT and daughter Sandra Bike, who she affectionately referred to as "Sis" and whom she lived with for the past thirteen years. Sally was affectionately known as "Gram" by her Grandchildren and "Mimi" by her Great Grandchildren. Sally leaves behind seven grandchildren : James Washburn of Florida, Jeffery Washburn of Jewett City, Ct, Stanley Bike and wife Beth and Sally Balis and Dan Sherwood all of Trumbull, Jacqueline Bratchell and husband Tommy, John Bike and wife Tracy, Jesse Bike and wife Colleen all of Stratford. Sally also leaves behind thirteen Great-Grandchildren: Abby Washburn, Ryan Balis, Samantha Bratchell, Ashley, Kylie, Jenna, Melissa, Tory, John John, Jesse, Amanda, Julia and Madison Bike. Sally leaves behind sister Jean Pjura and husband John of Bridgeport. She was predeceased by two brothers Walter and Ted Zyla and sister Wanda Meyers. Sally also leaves behind in laws: Ruby Kuhen of Shelton, Donald Washburn and wife Pat of Bridgeport, Joan Miller of Milford and Eleanor Washburn of Stratford. To date Sally enjoyed smoking, eating chocolate and playing Cash Word. In her younger years she enjoyed playing Poker, going up the "lake" to fish, reading a good murder mystery and watching Murder She Wrote. Sally was also known as a meticulous housekeeper (you could literally eat off her floor). Although Sally was never able to fulfill her dream of being a nurse ironically she became a caregiver to both her parents, husband Stanley and brother in law Hazen when they were ailing. Gram also had two special pets Peanut and Kit Kat. Gram will be sadly missed but she will always be loved and remembered. Joseph A. Shamatovich
(August 27, 1917 - March 2, 2012)
Joseph A. Shamatovich, age 94, of Fairfield, beloved husband of the late Cecilia Wojtkiewicz Shamatovich, passed away on Friday March 2, 2012 in Lord Chamberlain HCC, Stratford. Mr. Shamatovich, a retired foreman for Electric Maintenance Service Company, was born in Bridgeport to the late Florie and Bertha (Back) Shamatovich, and has been a life long area resident. He was an avid boater and fisherman, and a life member of the Fayerweather Yacht Club, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Joseph was also a fan of the New York Yankees and Giants. Survivors include his devoted children Paul Shamatovich and his wife Francine of NJ, Judith Guggenheim and her husband Richard of Shelton, and Thomas Shamatovich and his wife Joan of Oxford, 6 grandchildren Susan Hopta and her husband David, Jennifer Murphy and her husband Timothy, Michael Guggenheim, Eric Guggenheim and his wife Courtney, Donna Iaffaldano and her husband Joseph, Janet Buglione and her husband Christopher, 15 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife and parents he was pre-deceased by an infant daughter Janice, and 2 brothers Stanley Shamatovich and Frank Shay. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday March 7th at 9:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. David V. Price
(January 25, 1980 - October 15, 2011)
David Vincent Price age 31, left this world suddenly on October 15th 2011 to return to the loving arms of OUR LORD. David grew up in Orange CT. , the beloved son of the “late” Elaine (Lescheshen) Price. He was a graduate of Amity High School and he earned his Bachelors degree in Business Management from Southern Connecticut State University. David was the ultimate salesman and was very successful in the New York advertising industry, where he has resided since 2004. David will be remembered fondly for his beautiful smile and charming manner. He held his friends close to his heart and his family closer. Dave was an avid snowboarder and cyclist; sports he loved to share with his brother Tim and their Mom. Some of their best times were held during their winter excursions to Colorado. When not out on the slopes or riding along the Hudson, he could be found soaking up the rays on Milford beach or out playing basketball. He is survived by his brother Timothy Price of New York, godmother and uncle, Bettie and Kenneth Guggenheim of Stratford, his aunt and uncle Mary Ann and Bruce Rudolph of Newtown, his cousins Jason Holt and his wife Carline, Rebecca Pecor and husband Justin, Andrew Rudolph, Adam Guggenheim, Tyler Rudolph and Kelsey Guggenheim, along with his dear and devoted friend Jennifer Meitzner. He also leaves to cherish his memory his young cousins Elijah, Sebastian and Thaddeus Holt. A Requiem Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 21st at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church on East Main St. Bridgeport, CT with Rev. John Pawelchak officiating. Interment will follow immediately in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford. Thomas M. Condon III, age 62, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Carolyn Beauvic Condon, passed away on Thursday April 12, 2012 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Tom, a retired machinist for Bullards was born in Bridgeport to the late Thomas M. and Frances (Fedorak) Condon and has been a life long area resident. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include his step-daughters April and Holly Cunningham of Bridgeport, 3 grandchildren Amber, Ricky, and Brianna, brother-in-law Arthur Beauvic and his wife Cheryl of Stamford, uncle Albert Fedorak and his wife Cathy of Bridgeport, 2 cousins Joe and Sue Beauchene, and Tommy and Carol Beauchene all of Florida, his close friend Frank Gargiulo of Bridgeport, and his cat Sugar, who was always at his side.
