Antoni Dynak
Antoni Dynak, 88 of New Britain died Jan. 2, 2005.
He was the husband of Genowefa (Zabek) Dynak.
He was born in Poland and had lived in New Britain for more then 30 years, previously residing in New Jersey.
He retired from New Britain Machine Co. and was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and two daughters, Casimir Dynak and his wife, Danuta, of Berlin; Stanley Dynak and his wife, Sophie, of Plainville; Anna Kwapien and her husband, Andrzej, of Plainville; and Teresa Mizura and her husband, Krzysztof, of Plainville.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Beata, Violet and Casimir Dynak Jr., Marc Dynak and his wife, Renata, Thomas Dynak, Matthew Kwapien, Daniel and Deanna Mizura.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Dynak, and a sister in Poland.
The funeral was held Jan. 5 at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, New Britain, and at Sacred Heart Church. Burial was at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Joan Marchesi
Joan "Mimi" (Hamilton) Marchesi, 72, of Bristol, died Dec. 30, 2004.
Born in Hartford, she was a longtime New Britain resident until moving to Bristol in 1953.
A graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1950, she attended business school and was employed as a billing clerk at the University of Connecticut Medical Center in Farmington for the past 27 years.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in New Britain; sang in the First Lutheran Church Choir for the past 20 years, and was a regular volunteer at the church.
She is survived by three sons, Rickey Marchesi and his wife, Jenifer, of Hopkinton, Mass., Peter Marchesi, also of Hopkinton, and Gary Marchesi and his fiance, Julie Morse, of Plainville; a daughter, Leslie Marchesi, and her husband, Joseph Hughes, of Bristol; two sisters, Priscilla "Pat" Brown of Bristol and Penelope "Penny" Kinney of Massachusetts; three grandchildren, Nicholas H. Marchesi of Plainville, Zachary J. Hughes of Bristol, and Alyssa J. Hughes of Bristol; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Lord.
The funeral was held Jan. 3 at First Lutheran Church, New Britain. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Carl W. Tinti
Carl W. Tinti, 57, of Plainville, died unexpectedly at home on Dec. 24, 2004.
He was born in New Britain on Dec. 8, 1947, one of two sons of the late Carl V. and Laura (Allen) Tinti.
He was employed as a superintendent at Fafnir Bearing for nearly 20 years, and recently worked at the family store, Tinty's Furniture in Bristol.
He was a graduate of Plainville High School and Pratt Junior College in Pratt, Kan.
While in high school, he was tri-captain for baseball, football and basketball, and was inducted into the PHS Sports Hall of Fame in 2001.
He was an avid softball player and member of the Gartenhaus Slow Pitch Softball League, receiving many national titles, and was inducted into the Connecticut Slow Pitch Softball Hall of Fame in 1990.
He was also a professional duckpin bowler, for which he received several awards as well.
He is survived by his daughters, Stefanie and Jenna Tinti of Newington; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Karlen Tinti of Union Hall, Va.; his niece, Trixi Fulcher and her daughter, Faith Fulcher, both of Moneta, Va.; and his former wife, Jane Tinti of Newington.
The funeral was held Dec. 29 at Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville.
Burial was private.

Fred Zuk
Fred Zuk, 73, of New Britain, died Dec. 28, 2004, at New Britain General Hospital.
Born in New Britain, son of the late Peter and Natalie Zuk, he was a lifelong resident.
He was a graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1949.
He was formerly employed by the New Britain Candy Co. and the former Brown Derby.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by a brother, Walter Zuk of New Britain, and a sister, Anne Novack and her husband, David, of Plainville; four nephews, David Novack and Robert Novack of Plainville, Michael Novack of Bristol, and Kenneth Zuk of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two nieces, Karen Ott of Berlin, and Kathleen Belanger of Plainville; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
The funeral was held Dec. 31, at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, New Britain.
Burial was private.
William Biskupiak
William W. Biskupiak, 90, formerly of Plainville, died Jan. 24, 2005, in Manahawkin, N.J.
He was the husband of Helen (Jacunski) Biskupiak for 66 years.
Born in New Britain, son of the late William and Josephine (Chmielewski) Biskupiak, he lived in Berlin for many years before moving to Plainville.
He lived in Boynton Beach, Fla. for 22 years before moving to Manahawkin, N.J. three years ago.
He retired from Marlin Rockwell Corp after 36 years of employment.
He was a member of the Plainville Knights of Columbus, served as Grand Knight and was part of the 4th Degree Color Guard there.
He was also a member and Chief Ranger of the Foresters of America.
Besides his wife Helen, he is survived by two sons, William and his wife, Joanne of Rocky Hill, and Lawrence and his wife, Diane of Branford; two daughters, Diane Eaton and her husband, Jack of Plantsville, and Dorothy Thompson and her husband, Jerry of Manahawkin, N.J.; three sisters, Sophie Holyst of Terryville, Lottie Nelson of Newington and Florence Buffa of Pinetta, Fla.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by five brothers: Albert, Theodore, Walter, Edward and Chester Biskupiak, and two sisters, Mary Kilosky and Clara Jacunski.
The funeral was held Jan. 29 at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, New Britain, and at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville.
Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Plainville.
James Doherty
James A. Doherty, 70, of New Britain, died Jan. 27, 2005, at New Britain General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born July 20, 1934 in New Britain, son of the late James and Mary Alice (Scott) Doherty.
A lifelong resident of New Britain, he attended St. Joseph School and was a graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1953.
He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957, having been stationed in Cheyenne, Wyo.
He was employed as a computer programmer and project manager for the White Oak Corporation in Plainville for 38 years until his retirement in 1995.
He is survived by two sons, Michael S. Doherty and Thomas P. Doherty, both of Bristol; two daughters, Patricia A. Langer and her husband, Joseph F. Langer of Bristol, and Mary L. Doherty of Alford, Mass.; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Joan Doherty of Plainville; seven grandchildren, Jason Doherty, Kyle Doherty, Krystal Langer-Stanchfield, Joseph P. Langer, Michael Doherty, Michelle Doherty, and Matthew Doherty; one great-granddaughter, Jazmyn Doherty; his former wife, Lucy Doherty of Bristol; many nieces and nephews, and his good friends from "The Dukes."
He was predeceased by a son, James P. Doherty, and a sister, Eileen Galle.
The funeral was held Jan. 31 at the O'Brien Funeral Home, Forestville.
Burial was private.

Marie Macquarrie
Marie J. (Johnson) Macquarrie, 86, of Plainville, widow of James G. Macquarrie, Jr., died Jan. 28, 2005, at New Britain General Hospital.
A Plainville resident for the past 50 years, she was born in Quincy, Mass. on Nov. 6, 1918, and was a daughter of the late Walter and Eva (Cormier) Johnson.
She is survived by a son and daughter in law, James G. Macquarrie III and Susan Macquarrie of Naples, Fla.; a daughter and son in law, Elaine and Douglas Pelletier of Wolcott; a sister, Binnie Ellis of Londonderry, N.H.; four grandchildren, Geoffrey Gennett Sr., Shannon, Scott, and C.J. Macquarrie; four great-grandchildren, Alexis and Lindsey Macquarrie, Dylan and Geoffrey Gennett Jr.; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Ralph Bacon, of Naples, Fla.
The funeral was held on Feb. 1, at Funk Funeral Home, Bristol.
Burial was in West Cemetery, Plainville.

Julia Marek
Julia (Moryl) Marek, 84, of Plainville, formerly of Bristol, died Jan. 25, 2005, at Bristol Hospital, with her daughter at her side.
She was the wife of the late Frank Marek.
Born Feb. 15, 1920, in Palmer, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Josephine (Stokosa) Moryl.
A resident of Bristol for more than 40 years, she lived in Homosassa, Fla. for seven years before moving to Plainville 10 years ago.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Marek of Bristol; a daughter, Frances and her husband, Brendan J. McLaughlin of Southington; and two grandchildren, Patrick and Megan McLaughlin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Frank, she was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
The funeral was held Jan. 28 at the Stanley Suchodolski Funeral Home, Inc., and at St. Stanislaus Church for a mass.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
Daniel Martinook
Daniel P. Martinook, 79, of New Britain, died Jan. 28, 2005, at New Britain General Hospital.
Born in New Britain, he was lifelong city resident and was a member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church.
He graduated from New Britain High School, Class of 1943, and received his bachelor of science and master of science degrees from Central Connecticut State University.
He retired from the Cheshire school system after 35 years as a teacher, and he served as faculty-student business manager and department chair of the business education department.
As a justice of the peace, he performed more than 200 weddings for Cheshire residents, many of them being former students.
He organized the Cheshire High School youth group, "Give A Damn Club."
He is survived by his son, David Martinook of Plainville; his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Andrew Dobek of New Britain; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gus and June Martinook of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Paul and Elinor Martinook of Newington; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
He also leaves his longtime companion, Janice Bednarczyk of Southington.
The funeral was held Feb. 1 at Newington Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. John J. Dresko officiating.
Burial was in Holy Trinity Orthodox Church Cemetery, New Britain.

Roberta Smith
Roberta Lee Smith, 52, of Plainville, died unexpectedly at home on Jan. 24, 2005.
She was born in Middletown, daughter of Dorothy Smith and the late Robert Smith of Farmington and West Palm Beach, Fla.
She resided in the area most of her life, graduating from Farmington High School.
She attended Bay Path College and Tunxis Community College.
She was employed by Miller Transportation of Avon.
She is survived by two sisters, Sandy and her husband, Bob Luzz,i of West Hartford, and Sharon and Louis DiMinico of Groton, Mass.; nieces; a nephew and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
ERMANNO FORCELLA
Ermanno Forcella, 65, of Plainville, died suddenly on May 5.
He was born in Italy on Jan. 29, 1938, the son of the late Filipo and Sophia (Pulcini) Forcella.
He worked at Stanley Works for 45 years, and after his retirement was a crossing guard.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church.
He leaves his wife of 45 years, Maria (Vazquez) Forcella; a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Francine Forcella; a daughter and son-in-law, Susanna and Harold Hernandez, all of Plainville; brothers and sisters, Michael Forcella, Grace Ettore and Jenny Faiazza; grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher and Daniel Forcella, and Melissa and Jessica Hernandez, all of Plainville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Phillip E. Forcella, and a brother, Tomasso Forcella.
Funeral services were held on Friday from Bailey Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Mercy Church.
Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery.
