Meriden - Jeannine (Bacon) Ingram, 77, formerly a long time Meriden resident passed away on Nov. 1, 2011 in Las Vegas, NV. She was the wife of Roy Ingram.
She was born in Montpelier, VT the daughter of the late Clarence and Obeline Desmarais.
Jeannine was an avid bowler and was on several leagues and she enjoyed reading but most of all she loved her family.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Clifford A. Bacon and wife Laura of Meriden, Sandra M. Bacon of Stuart, FL, Joyce A. Williams and husband Doug of Meriden; Diane Kelley and husband John of Marion, OH and Brenda Cole and husband David of Las Vegas, NV. Her cherished grandchildren, Clifford A. Bacon Jr., Jennifer Bacon and Adam Williams and a great grandson Jaxson Clifford Lalone all of Meriden. She also leaves three step children and several grand and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by Wesley R. Bacon and their daughter Pamela J. Bacon.
A Memorial service will be held at a time to be announced in the spring.

Rose M. Flammia
July 12, 1923 - November 9, 2011
WOLCOTT - Miss Rose M. Flammia, 88, formerly of Delray Beach, FL and originally of Waterbury, CT passed away peacefully at Meridian Manor in Waterbury on November 9, 2011.
Rose was born on July 12, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline (Martone) Flammia who were both born in Frigento, Italy and immigrated to Waterbury in 1899. She was the youngest of their ten children.
Rose graduated from Wilby High School in 1941 and began to work full time for Met Life where she made her career , retiring in 1983. She lived and worked in Stamford, CT from the early 1960’s until her retirement. After a few years of retirement she decided to move to Florida to spend her golden years. Rose loved going to church and was active in church communities including serving as a deacon to her church in Boca Raton, FL for nearly 20 years.
She also enjoyed traveling, golf, tennis and swimming. Often if you called her to say hi, she was just coming in or going to an activity. She could never sit still and always had a great sense of humor.
Rose is survived by her beloved nieces Marie Musso of Wolcott, Josephine Russo of Waterbury, Marlene Sickles of Cromwell, and Susan Flammia of FL, one beloved nephew Richard Harder of Wolcott and dozens of grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by all of her dearly missed sisters, Minnie Pugliese, Margaret Druchunas, Catherine Dunham, Mary Laccone, Ann Harder, Rosey Flammia, and brothers Henry, Rocco and Michael Flammia.
Funeral will be Saturday 10 AM from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott to St. Leo The Great Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hour will be from 9 to 10 AM Saturday morning.

Claire Berglund
April 3, 1923 - May 12, 2013
WOLCOTT - Mrs. Claire (Gallagher) Berglund, 90, went to the Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2013. She was the devoted wife for 54 years of the late William A. Berglund.
Born on April 3, 1923 in Luzern County, Foster Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Neal and Mary Gallagher. Claire was a cadet Nurse during WWII and graduated from Jersey City Medical Center as a registered nurse. She worked as an operating room nurse at Jersey City Medical Center. After the war, she traveled to Hawaii and worked at Queens Hospital in Honolulu. She later worked at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Providence Hospital in Washington DC and New York Ear and Eye Infirmary in New York. She was a volunteer nurse when the family lived in Goluk, Turkey while her husband William was there on naval duty.
Claire was the first President of the Fleet Reserve Wives Branch 67 in Washington DC, a member of the Connecticut Trials Council of Girl Scouts as a former Leader and Service Unit Chairman. She was an active member at Zion Lutheran Church in Waterbury, CT as a Sunday School Teacher, member of WELCA, the Altar Guild and Outreach Committee. She resided in Wolcott for 48 years.
She is survived by her six children, Celeste Rich and her husband Ned of Westborough, MA, Peter Berglund and his wife Paula of Norwich, CT, Christine and her husband Dr. Kevin Wolter of Mystic, CT, John Berglund and his wife Patty of Vernon, CT, Joe Berglund and his wife Kim, Nancy and her husband Jim Cosgrove all of Wolcott, her 13 grandchildren, Erin Daniels, Lindsey Burke, Sarah and KT Rich, Jason, Joey, Brian, Rachel, Kara, Sean, and Ryan Berglund, Tom and Claire Cosgrove, five great grandchildren, Emily, Justin and Matthew Daniels, Kaelyn and Corbin Burke, and several generations of nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband William, she was predeceased by her brothers Neal Jr. and Jimmy Gallagher and her sisters Mary O’Neil, Loretta Spahn and Kathryn Gallagher.
Claire’s family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff of the Alzheimer’s Resource Center of Plantsville, CT.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday 11 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church 1555 Hamilton Ave. in Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Vincent Borrelli, 78, of Southington passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Doris (Nelson) Borrelli for over 55 years.
Born February 19, 1935 in New York City, son of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Bellissimo) Borrelli. He was a veteran of the US Army. Vincent retired from United Technologies Corp., Southington with over 25 years of service. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church and was an avid player of computer poker. He was a dedicated father and husband. He enjoyed vacationing with his wife, exercising at the YMCA, and spending time with his friends at McDonalds.
In addition to his wife he leaves his children, Lori and husband Pete Cammuso of Southington, Sue and husband Bob King of Boxford, MA and Joseph Borrelli and wife Laura of Forestville, along with eight grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the nurses of VNA Healthcare for their loving care in his final days.

Christine (Tardie) Lamarre, 87, of Plantsville section of Southington, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Midstate Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Armand Lamarre.
Born in Eagle Lake, ME, the daughter of the late Eloi and Mamie (Albert) Tardie. She was a resident of Southington since 1957. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the former Allied Control of Southington. She was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church.
Christine is survived by 5 sons, Roland and wife June, Nelson and wife Rebecca of Southington ,Clayton and Kenneth of Plantsville, Lyman of Berlin, a daughter Brenda of Plantsville. She also leaves 2 sisters, Delores Tardie of Caribou, ME and Albertine Nadeau of Sherrill, NY, 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 4 sons, Lester, Raynold, Leland, and Brandon, 2 sisters, Ernestine Lemieux and Gail Tardie, 4 brothers Alvin “Junior”, Albert, Elmer and Wilmer Tardie.
Her funeral will be held on Monday at 10:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Aloysius Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-6 p.m.

Edward Allen Rascati
May 28, 1937 - May 16, 2013
Edward Allen Rascati, 75, husband of Cynthia (Lanza) Rascati, passed away peacefully Thursday, May, 16th 2013 at The Summit at Plantsville, following a long illness. He was the son of the late Carolyn (Giradi) Rascati and Alexander Rascati.
Ed was born in Jamaica NY on May 28th, 1937. After leaving High School, he joined the U.S. Navy. Following his stint with the Navy, Ed settled in New Haven and married his wife of 42 years, Cynthia Lanza. Ed and Cindy eventually moved to North Haven CT to raise their daughter Stacey. Ed was employed for many years at Humphrey Chemical in North Haven; retiring in 1997. Ed enjoyed fishing, bowling, attending wrestling events, cheering for the Yankees and playing cards with friends.
He will be remembered for his kindness to everyone and his infectious smile will not be forgotten. For the past 12 years, Ed lived in Southington with his daughter’s family and then at The Summit at Plantsville. Ed leaves behind his devoted wife, the love of his life, of 42 years, Cynthia; his daughter Stacey and her husband Wayne McCarthy; his 3 grandchildren, Rebecca, Kylie and Connor McCarthy. Ed is also survived by his sisters; Bernadette Higgins and her husband Steve of Ocala, FL Alexis Carol of Chester, CT, Karen Hamilton of Hingham, MA, and his brother Salvatore of San Rafael, CA. He is also survived by his nephews, Shawn Higgins of East Hartland CT, Todd Higgins of Clinton, CT, Stephen Sidorak of New Britain CT and nieces Alyssa Wood of Chester CT and Kristen Sidorak of Portland OR. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at The Summit at Plantsville for their loving and compassionate care for the past 8 years.

Michael Louis Zommer
January 26, 1964 - May 20, 2013
Michael Louis Zommer of Plainville, passed away at home on May 20, 2013, at the age of 49, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a courageous four-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), with profound fortitude and integrity. He was married 27 years to Maureen (Moore), and together they raised three children, Michael, Jessica and Melissa, who survive their father. Michael devoted his life to his family, including his parents, Michael and Linda Zommer of Southington. He was born in New Britain on Jan. 26, 1964 and graduated from Southington High School in 1982.
He was an officer of Waste Material Trucking Company and property manager of Southgate Apartments, both Zommer family businesses. He found joy in simple times, fishing in Lake Winnipesaukee, cooking for his family, and being a Red Sox fan.
Michael is also survived by his three siblings, Michele Zommer of Southbury, Melinda Zommer of Southington, and Mark Zommer of Farmington, and his mother in-law Vivian Moore of Southington, brothers-in-law John Moore of New York and Jim Moore of California a sister-in-law Mary Grouten of Farmington, as well as 13 nieces and nephews who range from age one through 27. His friends and family will treasure the memories of Michael's humor, spirit and gentle ways — and will miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Helen Zommer and his maternal grandmother Irene Sandino, who he cherished.

David Paul Banker
November 16, 1945 - May 17, 2013
David Paul Banker, 67, of Bristol, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 17, 2013. David was born on November 16, 1945 in Hartford, the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Hahn) Banker. He leaves his devoted wife of 40 years: Roberta "Bobbi" (Zimmerman) Banker, and his four daughters: Amy Banker of FL, Alicia (Mark) Redmond of AZ, Audrey (Billy T) Banker of CT, and Andrea (Joseph) Hedrich of MI.
David leaves his brothers: George (Candice Carson) Banker of CO, Jonathan (Heidi) Banker of Turkey, and Robert (Sue) Banker of OH. He also leaves a sister, Anita (Norman) Ericson of FL. He had 10 grandchildren: Sarah and Kaytlyn Strickland of CT; Olivia Milfort of MA; Mark II, Alanna, Kimberly and Krista Redmond of AZ; Joseph II, Merrick and Wyatt Hedrich of MI, as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved grandpuppy, Molly, with whom he spent most of his days.
David was an avid Ham radio enthusiast, using the call letters WV1D. He was a member of the ARRL and taught several classes with the League. He was also a member of the U.S. Power Squadron. He was a general contractor and was licensed with the CT Association of Land Surveyors. He loved spending time outdoors: hiking, swimming, sailing, snorkeling and scuba diving, hunting, fishing and camping.
A home going celebration will be held Saturday, May 25 at 12 noon at Central Baptist Church, 1505 West Street Southington, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church or Vitas Hospice.
Joseph Pompey
March 17, 1914 - May 23, 2013
Joseph Pompey, 99, of New Britain, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Jerome Home.
He was born in Southington on March 17, 1914, the son of the late Carmen and Jennie (Lippia) Pompey. Mr. Pompey served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He spent many years working with his family on the Pompey Farm on Queen St. in Southington. In later years he lost his eyesight.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a great –great niece.
He was predeceased by 5 sisters, Florence Pompey, Josephine Pedrolini, Rose Milewski, Ann Haimes and Elizabeth Moon, 4 brothers James, Anthony, George and Thomas Pompey.

Craig Finn Sr., 65, of Wallingford, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 27, 2013. He was the life partner of Kathleen (Pender) Korab for 28 years.
He was born on March 19, 1948 in New Haven the son of the late Harold Finn Sr. and Lily (Bell) Finn. Prior to his retirement he was employed by SNET for over 30 years. Craig was an avid UCONN and NY Giants sports fan. He enjoyed going out for breakfast, the outdoors including golf and gardening but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and life partner Kathleen.
In addition to Kathleen he is survived by his children, Janet (Finn) Latella and her husband Peter of East Haven, Amy Finn and fiancée Homar Vazquez of Middletown, Craig Finn Jr. of New Britain and Kyla and husband Thomas Satkowski of Berlin, 2 stepsons Jamieson and Jarred Korab, 7 grandchildren, Michael, Angelina, Kyle, Xavier, Julianna, Alyssa, and Thomas Jr. He also leaves a sister Claudia Bobeck and husband Jeffrey of Northford, a brother Harold Finn Jr. and Martha Salonen of Shutesbury, MA and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and close friends.

Arlene E. Hoyt, 78, passed away on October 5, 2013 at the Aurora Senior Living in New Britain. Arlene was formerly of Wallingford, CT and Gulfport, FL.
She was born on April 1, 1935 in New Haven, and was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Mckinnon) Hoyt.
Arlene retired from S.N.E.T. She was one of the first female managers at S.N.E.T. She loved to travel and enjoyed doing puzzles. She was also known for making “Awesome” Christmas stockings.
She is survived by her sister Betty Martin and husband James of Southington, a niece Susan McGrath and husband Terrence, 2 nephews William Martin and wife Grace and David Martin and partner Stacey, along with several great nieces and nephews. Richard "Buzz" G. Westover
January 30, 1945 - October 2, 2013
Richard G. “Buzz” Westover, 68, of Plantsville section of Southington, beloved husband of Shirley (Callahan) Westover, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Bristol Hospital with his family by his side.
Mr. Westover was born January 30, 1945 in Waterbury, the son of the late Clarence and Margurite (Gangloff) Westover. He leaves his step-father Ramon Rodriguez of Bristol. Before his retirement he was employed by Fazzino Auto Parts in Meriden and Wallingford. Richard loved car shows and owned a 1965 Comet he called “Big Red”.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, he leaves his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Heather of Plantsville; 5 grandchildren whom he loved and cherished, Ashley, Zackery, Hunter, Matthew and Mandi all of Plantsville; a brother John and wife Peggy of Thomaston; he also leaves sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Nancy Torres and Joyce Nelson.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington.

Gary G. Sweezey Jr.
May 22, 1976 - October 8, 2013
Gary G. Sweezey Jr., age 37, of Southington passed away on October 8, 2013 at his home. He was born on May 22, 1976 in New Britain son of Gary and Donna (Surette) Sweezey of Southington. He was currently employed by Thurston Foods Inc. where he was well respected and admired.
Gary graduated from Southington High School in 1994 where he played football and baseball and he attended Norwalk Community College. Gary was proud to have played minor league baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Great Falls, Montana. A Southington resident for most of his life, Gary enjoyed spending time with his friends, riding his Harley, and traveling to VT. He was also a sportsman who loved fishing, baseball and was a fan of the Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his sisters Kerry Sweezey Albano of Virginia Beach, VA, Karen Sweezey Pliego of Plantsville, three nieces Kali, Jami and Leah Pliego, a nephew Jack Albano, his two grandmothers Lillian Surette of Malden, MA, Bernice Travia of Bristol, his cousin and dear friends John Dudac and his wife Cindy of Southington as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Martha Michaud
June 19, 1921 - October 9, 2013
Martha (Desjardins) Michaud, 92, formerly of New Brunswick, Canada and Bristol resident for over 45 years died Wednesday at Ingraham Manor in Bristol. She was the wife of the late Severien Michaud.
Born on June 19, 1921 in Norte-Dame- De Lourdes in New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Victorie and Roseanna (Violet) Desjardins. In 1965 she immigrated to Bristol, CT from Canada with her husband and nine children. She also resided in Phoenix, AZ and Southington, CT for several years.
Mrs. Michaud is survived by her eleven children, Hedwidge and her spouse Paul Beckerman of Casa Grande, AZ, Benoit and his wife Wanda Michaud of Spring Hill,FL, Desanges and her spouse Laurence LeFrancois, Gaspard and his wife Cecile Michaud, Suzanne Michaud, Nicolas and his wife Linda Michaud, Carmella Michaud, Regis and his wife Pamela Michaud, Alain Michaud all of Bristol, Rinette and her spouse Laurie Blanchard, Joseph Michaud all of Canada, her three sisters, Dorilda Michaud, Dorice Pelletier both of Canada, and Henrietta Martin of Bristol. She was “Memere” to 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Martha was predeceased 2 children Florence and Rino Michaud, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

John G. DeSorbo
May 14, 1931 - October 2, 2013
John G. DeSorbo, 82, of Southington, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at the HCC at New Britain General. He was the husband of Helen (Pernal) DeSorbo.
He was born on May 14, 1931 in Southington the son of the late Pasquale and Amelia (Fasci) DeSorbo. John was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a Builder and owned and operated DeSorbo Builders for many years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons, John F. DeSorbo and wife Donna of New Hampshire and Darryl DeSorbo and wife Connie a granddaughter Megan DeSorbo all of Southington, 3 brothers, Dominic DeSorbo of Bristol, Earl DeSorbo and wife Molly of Plantsville, Donald DeSorbo and wife Jan and a sister Dolores LaPorte and husband Joseph all of Southington and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Louis, Joseph, Vito, Alex and Tony, sisters Mary, Nancy, Josephine and Ann.

Shirley Samuelson
May 1, 1928 - October 4, 2013
Shirley (Jones) Samuelson, 85, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at HCC New Britain Campus. She was the wife of the late Donald Samuelson.
She was born May 1, 1928 in New Britain, daughter of the late George and Caroline (Sakolik) Jones. She had worked at the Benjamin Franklin School in New Britain and was a Foster Grandparent at the School.
She is survived by her son Eric D. Samuelson of New Britain, a brother George Jones and longtime companion Dorothy Kobus of Wethersfield, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many good friends. She was predeceased by 3 sisters, Emma Jones, Carolyn Carlson and Jane Westergren and a niece Carol Westergren and nephew Jeffery Jones.
The Funeral will be held Thursday 11:30 am at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in New Britain. Calling hours will be from 10 am until the time of the service. Donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice.
William Gualano

Southington - William Gualano, 61, died on Monday October 7, 2013 at his home.
Born in Hartford on July 23, 1952, and a Southington High School graduate, he was the son of the late Louis Gualano and Theresa (Tessier) Gualano. Billy enjoyed bowling in the Leagues at Laurel Lanes. He also loved to go to the movies, fishing, and playing his PS-3. A passionate gardener, Billy was very devoted to his tomato plants and took special care of them during the summer months. His famous spaghetti sauce and chop suey - the best in the family – will be missed. Billy was always very knowledgeable of current events. Even though Billy faced physical limitations, he was always faithful in doing chores around the house. Those chores included snow blowing the entire driveway and path, taking out the garbage, and gathering and separating the mail. These selfless acts will be sorely missed.
William is survived by his sister Arlene Lemire with whom he lived in Southington, a brother Richard and his wife Sherry Gualano of Rocky Hill, nieces Naomi Lemire, Alyssa Gualano, nephews Joshua-Caleb Lemire and Cody Gualano.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday October 14, 2013 at 7 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington. Calling hours are Monday from 5 - 7 pm

Anna (Moisio) Davenport, 83, of Southington passed away Thursday, Oct. 3,2013 at Apple Rehab in Plainville. She was the wife of the late Paul H. Davenport.
She was born June 29, 1930 in North Haven, daughter of the late Carlo and Marina Moisio. She was a parishioner of Mary Our Queen Church.
She is survived by her 3 sons; Jeff Davenport and his wife Roberta of Southington, Scot Davenport and his fiancé Vivianna Sarle and Paul Davenport and his wife Angela, a sister Mary Ferraro of Meriden. She also leaves her grandchildren, Cicely, Olivia, Cody and Joshua, and great grandchildren, Pilot, Anna and Benjamin, her niece Denise and nephew Anthony.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday,Oct.11 at Mary Our Queen Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington is handling arrangements.

Lorraine Mary Wayton, of Southington, died Tuesday at Bradley Memorial Hospital in Southington. She was 81.
She was born to the late Joseph and Amelia Rungi, Dec. 25, 1931, in Southington, CT. Lorraine graduated from Southington High School in 1949. She married the late Robert Wayton on September 29th, 1951, and lived together on Bristol St. in Southington, CT. Lorraine worked at General Electric from 1973 until she retired in 1988.
Lorraine is survived by four children; Paul and wife Marla Wayton, of Southington, CT, Gary Wayton and wife Monica Staggs, of Reseda, California; Dean and wife Judy Wayton, of Oakville, CT, and Glen and wife Meg Wayton of Southington, CT; two Sisters, Geraldine Massarelli and Josephine Marchetti; nine grandchildren: Matthew, Corey, Dean, Dale, Audris, Rocco, Codi, Shane, and Connor; and seven nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass in her honor will be held at 10 a.m Friday at St Thomas Church 99 Bristol St. in Southington. There are no calling hours nor interment.
