Concetta E. Rajcok
October 15, 1914 - October 10, 2006
Concetta E. (Novaco) Rajcok, of Brickham Way, Burlington, wife of the late Martin J. Rajcok, Sr., died on Tuesday, October 10th in Torrington. She was born in Danbury on October 15, 1914, daughter of the late James V. and Lina (Gabriele) Novaco. She was a graduate of St. Peter School and Danbury High School, Class of 1934.
Mrs. Rajcok was life long member of the Danbury Community until she moved to Harwinton in 1987 and finally making her home in Burlington in 2005
She was a Hospital Ward Secretary for the ICU at Danbury Hospital. She was a past president Venerable for more than 20 years of the Colonna Lodge #184 and was a member for more than seventy years.
She was very active in the community, serving with the Harwinton Housing Authority and the Commission on Aging. She was also a member of the Harwinton Sundowners and Senior Center Volunteer. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church, Collinsville.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Martin J. Rajcok, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Bethlehem; her daughter, Susan M. Phaneuf and her husband Vincent of Burlington; and her four grandchildren, Martin III and Brian Rajcok, Valerie (Phaneuf) Howe, and Kristen (Phaneuf) Pettinicchi; and her great granddaughter, Jordan Howe. She is also survived by her sister, Marion Rupolo of Florida. as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Vincent Novaco and her sister, Rosalie LeRose.
Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Church, Danbury on Friday, October 13th at 9:30am. Entombment in the Mausoleum at St. Peter Cemetery will follow.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday between the hours of 4 and 7pm.

Ernest E. Weeks Ph.D.
February 16, 1921 - September 29, 2006
Dr. Ernest. E. Weeks of New Milford, passed away on September 29, 2006 at The Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center, in New Milford. Dr. Weeks was formerly of Danbury and Branford. He was born on February 21, 1921 in Storrs, son of the late Ellsworth and Helen (Young) Weeks.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Rose and husband Gene of New Milford, Patricia Walrath and husband Peter of Brookfield, Janet (Baldelli) Weeks of Winter Springs, FL, Cynthia Halas and life partner Joseph Lawson of Harwinton; his son Ernest E. Weeks and wife Diane of Largo FL. His step daughter Anne Ryan of Groton; step son John Ryan and his wife Kathy of Eastford; Sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Roscoe of Storrs, two nieces, and several nephews.
Dr. Weeks’ educational preparation for his successful career in public education led him to a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and earned Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees from the University of Connecticut.
His active public school teaching career began in September, 1947 as an elementary and secondary school teacher in Windsor Locks. In September, 1950 Dr. Weeks was appointed Elementary School Principal in Vernon. For the next fifteen years he served as an Elementary School Principal in Vernon, Windham and Danbury. In 1964 he was named an Assistant Superintendent of the Danbury Schools. He became the Branford Superintendent of Schools in 1969. In 1980 he retired from his successful thirty-three years career in public education.
Dr. Weeks’ professional affiliations in included numerous professional education organizations, associations, and executive boards throughout Connecticut. He was extremely well known as a Connecticut educator.
He enlisted in the Army in September 1942. In 1946 he joined the Air Reserve and remained in the reserve until he retired as a major in 1974. He was a 70 year member of The Echo Grange # 180 P of H. He was also a 60 year member of the Uriel Masonic Lodge, #24 A.F. A. M., Merrow, CT.
Dr. Weeks gave completely of himself to his work. Often this dedication was at the expense of his personal life. He possessed that rare ability to see the best in everything and everyone. He was a strong advocate of teachers and was dedicated to complete and equal education of all children.
The Weeks family has produced 5 generations of teachers beginning with his grandmother and mother. Its no wonder that his descendants have followed his example and commitment. One daughter, four grandchildren and one grandniece pursued education as a career.
He will be sadly missed by his family. He was loved and respected by his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his great grandchildren play at his feet as they learned to talk and walk. A visit to Pop-pops’, Grandpa's, house was a special occasion for everyone. When he attended family functions one might catch him watching his large family. The wonder on his face told you how proud he was of everyone.
He was a gentleman...truly a gentle-man
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his three wives, Kathryn (Wixted) Weeks, who was the mother of his natural children, Eloise (Ryan) Weeks, and Elizabeth (Toomy) Weeks; his sister Nell and brother- in-law Allyn Perkins, his son-in-law, Danbury Fire Fighter, Joseph Halas, his son-in-law Nino Baldelli, and his step grandson James Ryan.
Funeral Information
A Memorial Service will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday, October 13th at 5:00pm. The family will receive friends between the hours of 4:00 and 5:00pm.
On October 16th a services will be conducted at the First Congregational Church in Coventry, at 12:00pm. Burial will follow in The New Willimantic Cemetery.

Nancy L. Elwood
October 10, 1945 - October 10, 2006
Nancy L. Elwood, of Federal Road, Brookfield, died at New Milford Hospital on Tuesday, October 10th. Nancy was the devoted daughter of the late Wesley A. and Dorothy (Caldwell) Elwood of Brookfield. She was born in Danbury on October 10, 1945.
Nancy attended the Brookfield Consolidated School and graduated from Danbury High School in 1963. SH worked in the family business, Wesley A. Elwood Manufacturer of Well and Drain Tile until it closed in 2002.
She was a talented knitter and crotchetier. She was a member of the Metichewan Grange #190 and the Congregational Church of Brookfield. She was a lifetime member and past treasurer of the Central Cemetery Association Board.
She is survived by her cousins, Charles Caldwell of New Fairfield, Louis Caldwell of Virginia, Diane Caldwell of New Milford, and Janet Cover of Canton; her stepson, Vincent Campbell of New Milford; and her three step grandchildren. She is also survived by many dear friends.
Funeral Information
Services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield on Saturday, October 14th at 11:00am with Rev. David Buchan of the Brookfield Congregational Church officiating. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery
The family will receive friends at the funeral home between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00am.

Grace Tomaino
August 09, 1905 - October 04, 2006
Grace Tomaino, of Birch Drive, Bethel, died at the Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, October 4th at the age of 101. She was born in Calabria Italy on August 9, 1905, daughter of the late Ralph and Rose Tomaino. She made her home in the United States in 1921.
Grace was a loving sister and aunt who enjoyed being with her family. She will be sadly missed by her two brothers, John Tomaino and Armando Tomaino, both of Bethel; her four nephews, Robert and Richard Gimigliano of California, Anthony Scalzo of Bethel, and Richard Scalzo of Ohio; and her niece, Jean Scalzo of Bethel. She is also survived by three grandnieces and seven great grand nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Tomaino and her two sisters, Teresa Scalzo and Antoinette Gimigliano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Danbury, on Saturday, October 7th at 9:00am. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery will follow.

Tod L. Webb
June 02, 1967 - October 08, 2003
Tod Loring Webb, 36, of Linron Drive, Danbury, died as the result of an automobile accident, on Wednesday, October 8th. He was born in Danbury on June 2, 1967, son of the late Elden and Eleanor (Mitchell) Webb. He was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1984.
Tod worked as a mechanic for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. He enjoyed playing softball, weightlifting, and bowling. He loved popular music.
Tod will be sadly missed by four brothers, Elden Webb, Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Danbury, Dean Webb and his wife, Helen, of Bridgeport, Wayne Webb and his wife, Lillian, and Mark Webb, all of Danbury. He is also survived by his companion, Brenda Little of Danbury, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents, Edward and Gertrude Webb, Clarence and Betsy Mitchell.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, 11:30am, at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, with Reverend Kendall Paladino officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, October 13th between the hours of 2 and 4 pm and 6 to 8pm, at the Cornell Memorial.
Josephine Pisco
February 05, 1940 - February 20, 2004
Josephine “Jo-Jo” Pisco, 64, of Meadow Brook Vista, Danbury, died at Danbury Hospital on Friday, February 20th after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Wildwood, New Jersey, on February 5, 1940, daughter of the late Joseph, Sr. and Angelina (Orsino) Pisco. She was a graduate of Danbury High School and made her home in the community for most of her life.
Jo-Jo worked as a bartender for Park Avenue West, Danbury and attended St. Peter Church, Danbury. She enjoyed many happy times with her family, playing cards, Bingo, and her many friends.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Robin J. Zigray of Danbury, Renee J. Zigray of Terryville, and Kellie A. St. Pierre and her husband, Marcel, of Danbury; her cherished grandchildren, William Smeriglio, Jr., Adam R. Hicks Sr. and his wife, Filicia, Osvaldo Rivera, Java A. Zigray, and Michael P. Demo, USMC; and 7 great grandchildren. She is survived by her three sisters, Arlene Blunt and her husband, Peter, Angelina Ruggiero and her husband, Richard, all of Danbury, and Joann Cormier and her husband, Roland of Indiana; a brother, Joseph Pisco, Jr. of New York; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her companion of 23 years, Jose Lopez. She was predeceased by two sisters, Deanna Delguidice and Palma Smith.

Wilma Sarah Bourdeau
April 17, 1943 - July 14, 2005
Wilma Sarah (Webb) Bourdeau, 62, of Danbury, devoted wife of Rodney L. Bourdeau, went home to the Church Triumphant on Thursday, July 14th, in the presence of her family. She was born in Danbury on April 17, 1943, daughter of the late William H. and Wilma (Smigala) Webb. She was a graduate of Immanuel Lutheran School and Bethel High School, Class of 1961.
Wilma was lovingly known to her family and friends as Billie. She was a woman of Faith who faced her eleven-year illness with a steadfast determination and inner strength. Through each struggle Billie knew that her Lord was always by her side. She was an inspiration to her family, friends and countless fellow cancer survivors.
Billie was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who instilled a solid foundation in the Lord in her family. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and enjoyed expressing herself through poetry and watercolors.
In addition to her husband, Rodney of Danbury, her spirit will live on in her children, Jason W. Bourdeau of Danbury, Melissa Taylor and her husband, Robert of New Fairfield, Tania L. Porta and her husband, Alfredo of Danbury; her six grandsons, Connor, Ryan and Matthew Taylor, Alexander, Joshua, and William Porta; granddaughters, Katie and Laurie Porta; her brother, Herbert Webb and his wife, Lisa of Danbury; her sister, Barbara J. Gavagan and her husband Roger of Danbury; her mother-in-law, Rita Bourdeau; her aunts, Ilse and Ruth Smigala, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 18 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, on Monday, July 18th at 11:00am with Pastor Walt Harper officiating. Entombment in the Grandview Mausoleum at Wooster Cemetery will follow.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, July 17th between the hours of 3:00 and 8:00pm.

Peter J. Rourke
November 20, 1937 - October 22, 2006
Peter J. Rourke, 68, of Brookfield, devoted husband of Sandra (Kana) Rourke, died at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, October 22nd. He was born in Hartford on November 20, 1937, son of the late Francis and Rita (Ryan) Rourke. He was a graduate of Greenwich High School, Class of 1955.
Peter served in the United States Air Force. He worked for Perkin Elmer, then Hughes Optical, retiring after 31 years of employment.
He was well known by his family and friends for his easy going and upbeat nature. Even in illness, he faced each day with a positive attitude and an inner strength that was inspiring to all. He will be sadly missed.
In addition to his wife of 43 years, Sandra, he is survived by his son, Michael Rourke and his wife, Terri of Danbury; his two daughters, Melissa St. Arnauld and her husband, Paul of Medford, NJ and Laurie Coppenger and her husband, Troy of Richmond, VA; his eight grandchildren, Tyler and Adam Rourke, Megan, Brett, and Steven St. Arnauld Olivia, Lucas and Colby Coppenger,. He is also survived by his brother, Christopher Rourke and his wife, Gina of New Milford; his sister, Susan Vozzella and her husband, Ted of Temple, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Rourke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 27th at 10:00am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
The Family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Thursday, October 26th between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm.
