Ilse (Neuling) Spreckels
October 02, 1907 - March 23, 2004
Ilse (Neuling) Spreckels, 96, of Mist Hill Drive, Brookfield, devoted wife of the late Diedrich Spreckels, died on Tuesday, March 23rd, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Immekad, Germany, on October 2, 1907.
Ilse retired from Gristedes Market, Scarsdale, NY., in 1958 and was a very active volunteer for the Red Cross in Yonkers. She and her husband summered in Brookfield from the time of her retirement until moving here permanently in the 1980’s.
Ilse’s passion was her flower garden. She was a very loving and generous person, nicknamed “Mrs. Cookie” as she loved baking for the children. She will be sadly missed by her friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her adopted family, Gretl and Walter Rogg, Christian and Marianela Rogg, Marcus, Kimberly and Tyler Rogg, George and Jessica Poodiack, all of New Milford; Helmut and Emilie Krull of California; Luise Rogg of Texas; her Goddaughter, Kirsten Shirken of California; as well as Ingeborg Seebohm, Elke Dupre, and Derek Seebohm of Georgia. She is also survived by a cousin, Hannelori Reilly of Rhode Island.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 3rd at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, Brookfield, at 11:00am.

William J. Natalie Jr.
December 02, 1931 - March 25, 2004
William J. Natalie, Jr., of Hampden, Maine, devoted husband of Florence (VanDolder) Natalie, died on Thursday, March 25th, at Ashlar of Newtown at the age of 72. He was born in Teaneck, NJ. son of the late William J. and Anne (Califora) Natalie. He graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Journalism.
Mr. Natalie was Vice President of Personnel for MetLife and Irving Trust, and later worked as the Personnel Director for Community Health & Counseling in Bangor, ME. He was named an Honorary Kentucky Colonel for the work that he did on behalf of the State of Kentucky and served as a Councilor at Large for the town of Hampden.
Besides his loving wife of 41 years, Florence, he is survived by his two sons, Richard and his wife, Lorraine of Fairfax, VA and Thomas of New Milford; his daughter, Cathy Stueck and her husband, Arthur of Brookfield; six grandchildren, Heather and Dana Natalie, Benjamin, Arthur “AJ”, Noelle, and Samuel Stueck. He is also survived by a sister, Janet Petrini of Danbury and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home on Sunday, March 28th at 4:30pm with Pastor Buchanan of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home at 3:00 in the afternoon until the time of the service at 4:30.

Vincent V. Tyburszec
February 08, 1935 - May 14, 2004
Vincent V. Tyburszec died Friday, May 14, 2004 following a lengthy illness, peacefully with family at his side. Vincent was born on February 8, 1935 the son of the late Alexander and Helena (Kustoz) Tyburszec. He was a lifelong resident of Brookfield, Connecticut. He attended and graduated from Danbury and Brookfield Schools.
Mr. Tyburszec spent seven years in the Army Reserves, serving in the Military Police as a Sergeant. He worked for over thirty years in construction until his retirement in 1985.
Vincent will be sadly missed by one sister Eleanora Tyburszec with whom he made his home and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by six sisters, Elizabeth Lynch, Valerie Cornell, Anne Setaro, Alice Quattrocchi, Stefania Ceritelli, Leona Dowling and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
Friends may call at the Brookfield Funeral Home , 786 Federal Road on Monday from 5:00 -7:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Brookfield on Tuesday at 10:00AM. Interment will be in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, New Milford. The Brookfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

Peter Mariano
July 28, 1922 - May 16, 2004
Peter Mariano, 81, of North Beech Tree Road, Brookfield, devoted husband of Mary (Tristan) Mariano, died on Sunday, May 16th at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Berwick, PA. on July 28, 1922, son of the late Frank and Chiara (Gualano) Mariano.
Mr. Mariano was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army 820th MP Company, 3rd Platoon in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, EAME Service Medal, Five Bronze Stars, and the Victory Medal.
In 1948 Peter and his brothers, Joseph and Angelo, founded Mariano Brothers of Danbury and he remained active in the business community for 55 years. He was an active member of the First Assembly of God in Brookfield. He was instrumental in the construction of many churches in this country and in world missions. He was a member of the Board of Regents for Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, PA, for twenty years.
Besides his wife, Mary, of 58 years, he will be sadly missed by his son, Frank D. Mariano and his wife, Dianne of Brookfield; his two daughters, Faith Badoud and her husband Woody, and Barbara Vigue and her husband Bill, all of Brookfield; his grandchildren, Peter and David Mariano, Andrew and Ben Badoud, Emily Giordano, Gabrielle, Mary, & Michael Vigue; great grandchildren, Henry Badoud and Noelle Giordano. He is also survived by four brothers, Angelo of Danbury, Joseph of Brookfield, David of Pompano, Fla., and Rev. Daniel Mariano of Norwalk; two sisters, Grace Re of White Plains, NY. and Rose Re of New Milford. He was predeceased by his grandson, John Badoud.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Assembly of God, 133 Junction Road, Brookfield, on Thursday, May 20th at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, New Milford. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 19th between the hours of 4 and 8pm at the First Assembly of God, Brookfield. The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.

Angela (Archiere) Fairchild
March 12, 1912 - February 05, 2004
Angela G. (Archiere) Fairchild, 91, of Main Street, Danbury, wife of the late Clarence B. Fairchild, died on Thursday at Candlewood Valley Health Care Center in New Milford. She was born in Danbury on March 12, 1912, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Ann (Spano) Archiere. She attended Locust Avenue and White Street Schools.
As a young woman Mrs. Fairchild was employed by several of the Danbury Hat Factories. She later retired as a machine operator for American Radionics when the plant closed in the early 1970’s. She was past President of the Beaver Brook Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Fairchild will be sadly missed by a son, Alan Fairchild and his wife, Pat, of Brookfield; a daughter, Janet McCutcheon and her husband, Hugh of New Milford; grandchildren, Joseph and Tammy Fairchild, Robert and Diana Fairchild, Cynthia Dineen, Bonnie McCutcheon, Brenda and Alan Lounsbury, John McCutcheon, and Melissa and John Daniels. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Nicole, Kristin and Jaimie Fairchild, Andrew, Jessica and Amy Dineen, Vincent and Hunter Fairchild, Jeremiah and Chloe Lounsbury and Taylor Daniels; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Monday, February 9th at 7:00pm, with the Reverend Dr. Thomas H. Lounsbury of Lighthouse Ministries officiating. A Spring Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening between the hours of 5 and 7pm.

Nicola, Connor and Meghan DelVecchio
July 11, 2004
Nicola Ann (Gaffney) DelVecchio of Hanover Ridge Road, Brookfield, devoted wife of Jeffrey DelVecchio, died as the result of an automobile accident on Sunday, July 11th, at the age of 42. She and her children, Connor and Meghan were welcomed into the arms of the Lord together.
She was born in Huntingdon, England, daughter of James T. and Pamela (Bradford) Gaffney of Jonesboro, GA. She was a graduate of Wilton High School, Class of 1979.
Nicola worked as a waitress for the Harvest Restaurant in Brookfield, was the former manager of the American Legion Frank C. Godfry Post 12 in Norwalk. She was a current member of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the American Legion in Norwalk, and the Congregational Church of Brookfield.
Most importantly Nicola was a dedicated wife and mother to Connor and Meghan, volunteering at their schools, Huckleberry School and Country Kids, both in Brookfield. She was involved in the many activities at Master Hwang’s Tae Kwon Do, and the Vacation Bible School.
Connor James DelVecchio,8, was born in Norwalk on June 13, 1996. He was a student at Huckleberry Hill School in Brookfield. He was a member of the Junior Choir of the Congregational Church of Brookfield and was a red belt at Master Hwang’s Tae Kwon Do.
Meghan Irini DelVecchio would have celebrated her fifth birthday on Monday.
Meghan was born in Norwalk on July 12, 1999. She had graduated from Country Kids Preschool and enjoyed taking martial arts at Hwang’s Tae Kwon Do.
Nicola, Connor and Meghan will be sadly missed by their husband/father Jeffrey; Connor and Meghan’s brothers, Jason DelVecchio and his wife, Alisa of Northford, Joshua DelVecchio and his wife Monique of Indian Head, M.O.; grandchildren/nieces Madison and Isabella DelVecchio; grandparents, James T. and Pamela Gaffney, Robert & Irini DelVecchio of Milford; close family members, Paul Gaffney of Douglasville, GA.; Sharon Gaffney-Figuerido and her husband, Frank of Westfield, MA.; and Kirsten Waldren and her husband, Jessie of Georgia; many brothers and sisters-in-law; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Nicola, Connor and Meghan, will be held at the Congregational Church of Brookfield on Saturday, July 17th at 11:00am. Cremation and interment will take place at the convenience of the family. The Brookfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William J. Brought
September 20, 1957 - July 18, 2004
William J. Brought, age 46, of Brookfield died unexpectedly Sunday morning at Danbury Hospital. He was born on September 20, 1957 in Cornwall NY. He was the son of Francis C. Brought of Brookfield and the late Antoinette Barbarotto Brought. In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother Patricia Swift Brought; his sisters Sheri Brought of Danbury; Sandra Brink, her husband Alan Brink and their daughter Amanda, also of Danbury; his foster sister Ruth C. May of McKinney TX; and his extended family of Patricia’s children, Merritt Jeffrey Swift of New Milford; Allyson Farrell, her husband Peter Farrell and their children David, Collin, Kaylee and Kyla of Bantam CT; Aaron Swift and his fiancé Susan Getchell of New Milford; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bill graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School in 1976. He worked for many years using his self-taught computer skills. As a salesperson for Radio Shack, The Wiz and later J. C. Penney, he won numerous sales awards. Throughout his career, he was commended for his knowledge of product, salesmanship and excellent customer service skills.
Bill was a caring person who took great joy in helping others any way he could. In constant pain after becoming disabled at the age of 42, he did his best to maintain a positive attitude and continued to live a productive life. One of the ways he did that was by working part-time from home managing a student computer network for the Learning Incentive School in West Hartford CT.
His many hobbies included model building, watching Nascar races with his best friend Art Tallaksen of Brookfield, and spending time working on his computer. Bill’s smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Information
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Route 25, Brookfield on Saturday, July 24th at 11:00 AM. Cremains will be interred in St. Paul’s Memorial Garden immediately following the service.
