Robert H. Sennett Sr
MILFORD — Robert H. Sennett Sr., 77, of Argyle Road, husband of Betty Simpson Sennett, died Jan. 3, 1999, at the Mediplex of Southern Connecticut after a long illness. He was the son of the late Henry B. and Elizabeth Wilkins Sennett.
He was born May 29, 1921, in New York, N.Y. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was the retired owner of the former Town Hall Shell Station of Stratford for 28 years until retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Milford Senior Citizens, former member of the V.F.W., Post 7788, Devon and former member of the Stratford Square Dance Club.
In addition to his wife, he leaves one son, Robert H. Sennett Jr., and his wife, Joan F. Sennett, of Shelton; one daughter, June L. Barton, and her husband, Ronald A. Barton, of Wallingford; and two granddaughters, Katie and Caroline Percopo of Wallingford.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St. on the Green, Milford. Interment will be in Kings Highway Cemetery, Milford. Edward Stasilowicz
SOUTHINGTON — Edward Stasilowicz, 73, died at MidState Medical Center in Meriden on Jan. 4, 1999.
Born in Southington, Sept. 23, 1925, a son of the late Vincent and Pauline (Recko) Stasilowicz, Edward was a life long resident of Southington.
He is survived by a brother, Stanley Stasilowicz and two sisters, Mary Gladchuk and Jean Mihalko, all of Southington; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at 9 a.m. at Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville, with a Mass of Christian burial at Immaculate Conception Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery
at the convenience of the family.
Albert A. Turner
MERIDEN — "Old soldiers never die...they just fade away." Albert A. turner, 76, fought his last battle against cancer and faded away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998. He was the dear husband of Vivian Campbell Turner for 46 years.
Born in Frankfort, Maine, on April 2, 1923, he was the son of the late Ralph and Ruth Turner. Moving here when he was five years old, he called Meriden his home for most of his life. Mr. Turner attended local schools and graduated from Meriden High School in 1941. He held a B.A. degree from the University of Hartford, class of 1953, and also undertook graduate study at Boston University and the University of Montreal. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Turner was proud to have served his country in both World War II and the Korean War. In World War II, he landed on Omaha Beach with the naval amphibious force on D-Day, June 6, 1944, and fought valiantly to recapture France during the Normandy invasion. In the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Pacific Fleet as a chief petty officer on the U.S.S. Purdy (DD734). He also served with the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Naval Reserves. Mr. Turner was employed by American Airlines in Boston, Mass. and Hartford, the Internal Revenue Service, and culminated his civilian career at the U.S. Postal Service in Meriden, retiring after working there for 29 years. He was a past secretary of the Postal Clerks Union, past president of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and past treasurer of Chapter 414 of the AARP. He belonged to many civic, social and service organizations, including the Sons of the American Legion, Life Member of the American Legion, Post 45, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 9965, life member of the Franco-American Club and the Knights of Columbus. Before his illness, he taught catechism at St. Laurent Church and did volunteer work with the elderly. He was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Catherine, and son-in-law, John Baiet, of Meriden; a son, John, and daughter-in-law, Peggy Turner, of Meriden; five grandchildren, Tara Ryan, James Ryan, Kyle Turner, Shelby Turner and John Baiet. He was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Tasillo.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Church on Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at 9 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at the Veterans Cemetery
on Bow Lane in Middletown at 10:30 a.m. At the request of the deceased, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Midstate VNA and Hospice, 658 Broad St., Meriden, CT 06450. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, East Main St., Meriden, Conn.
Kenny J. Bouchard
SOUTHINGTON - Kenny J. Bouchard, 46, of 3 Berlin St., died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at Hartford Hospital.
Born Jan. 3, 1953, in Southington, son of Stella (Vaillancourt) Bouchard of Southington and the late Leonide Bouchard. He had been employed as a purchasing agent by Sherwood Tool in Kensington for 16 years. He was a graduate of Southington High School and a lifelong parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a devoted friend, Edward Flemke of Southington; two brothers, Bertrand Bouchard and his wife, Patricia, of Southington, Gerald Bouchard and his wife, Caren, of Prospect; two sisters, Priscilla Dunn of Southington and Beverly Miller of Clifton, Texas ; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and a grand-nephew. He was predeceased by his oldest brother, Gillian Bouchard and his brother-in-law, Frank W. Dunn Jr.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Bernice H. Coutermash
MERIDEN - Bernice H. Coutermash, 82, wife of the late W. Arthur Coutermash, died on Saturday, March 13, 1999, at the Meriden Center, following a brief illness.
Born in Meriden, April 7, 1916, she had been a lifelong Meriden resident and graduated from Meriden High School, class of 1933. She was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Lyle P. Smith of Plantsville; a son and daughter-in-law, William A. Coutermash Jr. and Antonia, of Meriden; five grandchildren, Shawn L. Torchia, Geoffrey L. Smith, Cynthia Chapman, Barbara Valiquette, and William A Coutermash III; six great-grandchildren, Joseph G. Torchia, Matthew A. Torchia, Charles E. Chapman Jr., Jack A. Chapman, Jade Valiquette, and Derek Banzul; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Coutermash was predeceased by a daughter, Frances C. Boisvert and by three sisters and three brothers.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St. and at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Burial will be in St. Laurent Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Peter R. Daniels Sr.
MERIDEN - Peter R. Daniels Sr., of Knob Hill Road, South Meriden, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 1999, at home surrounded by friends and family. He was the loving husband of Gail Garlock Daniels for 32 years.
He was born in Middletown, April 25, 1941, and lived most of his life in Meriden. He is the son of the late Marie Daniels. Pete was a mailman for the U.S. Postal Service in Meriden for 32 years. He graduated from Wilcox Tech., a member of the Hall of Fame. Peter had a love for sports and played baseball and basketball for many years in Meriden. He coached Little League and Cuno basketball for many years.
Besides his wife, he leaves two children who will always be in his heart, a son, Peter Daniels Jr. and his wife, Wendy, and daughter, Michele Daly and her husband, Steve; three grandchildren that he will always cherish, Emma and Andrew Daly and Alyssa Daniels; two families that he was so proud of. He is also survived by three brothers and a sister, Paul and Anna Daniels, who were very special to Peter, Richard and Nancy Daniels, and Linda and Carl Hedlund; his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Garlock; a very special sister-in-law, Marie Grodzicki and her husband, Chet; also Kathy and Mike Showerda and brother-in-law, John and Alma Garlock; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends that he was so grateful to have by his side.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., and at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Charles R. Hurd
SOUTHINGTON - Charles R. Hurd, of 115 Eden Ave., died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at home. He was the husband of Ann (Geloso) Hurd.
Born May 12, 1935, in Danbury, the son of the late Percy and Lillian Hurd. He attended Watertown schools and graduated in 1953. He had been in the Naval Reserves for eight years and retired in 1997 from Fansteel VR/Wesson in Plantsville, where he worked for 40 years. He received the Presidential-Value Plus award in 1985. He was a tool-die maker. Charles enjoyed his grandchildren and also loved the shore, camping, boating and fishing. On July 1, 1998, Charles and Ann celebrated 37 years of marriage.
He leaves a son, Scott Hurd and his wife, Maria Carpinteri of Plainville; a daughter, Melissa Worroll and her husband, Thomas of West Haven; four grandchildren, Michael and Cody Hurd of Plainville and Thomas and Kayle Worroll of West Haven; a sister, Eleanor Moone of Southington; two cousins, Doris Lezzotte of Naugatuck and Rosemary O'Connor of Watertown; his mother-in-law, Vickie Geloso of Southington; brother-in-law, John Geloso of Dunedin, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Thomas Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery
with military honors. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Stirling Martin
MERIDEN - Stirling Martin, 82, formerly of Greenwich, Conn., died peacefully in his sleep. He was the husband of the late Anne Ten Exck of Greenwich, Conn. He was the son of the late Stirling and Dorothy (Thurston) Martin.
Mr. Martin is survived by one son, Lansing T.E. Martin of Cos Cob, Conn.

Marjorie Roman
NEW BRITAIN - Marjorie "Carol" Roman, 57, beloved wife of Richard Roman, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, after a long heroic battle with cancer.
She was born in New Britain, the daughter of Ann Mucke of New Britain and the late Milford Mucke. She was a graduate of Central Connecticut State University. She was employed at H & R Block and she was an auditor for the Ladies Auxilliary of the Boys & Girls Club of New Britain.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Thomas Markoski of Plainville; a son-in-law, Matthew DeLucia of Unionville; three grandchildren, who were the joy of her life, Krystin DeLucia, T. Christopher and Kevin Markoski; a sister, Amy Caiaze; a niece; several nephews, cousins, friends and her loyal companion, Prince. She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan DeLucia.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at St. Dominic Church, Tuesday at a time to be announced. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery

Henrietta Aldi
SOUTHINGTON -- Henrietta Aldi, 81, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at Ridgewood Health Center. She was the widow of Anthony A. Aldi.
She was born Sept. 3, 1917, at home on Buckland Street in Plantsville, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Kaytor) Witt. Mrs. Aldi graduated from Lewis High School in 1934. She had worked at Stanley Works in New Britain. During the 1940s she had worked at the Southington Water Department, where she met her late husband, Anthony. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church and was a member and volunteer of the Calendar House. Mrs. Aldi was also a volunteer with the Bradley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, A. Michael Aldi of Southington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Richard Van Valkenburgh of Southington and Debra and Arthur French of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Gertrude Steinnagel, MaryAnn Zajac and her husband, Edward, all of Southington; four grandchildren, Scott Van Valkenburgh of Ward, Colo., Daniel, Catherine and Rebecca Aldi of Southington; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jennie Aldi, Eleanor and Joseph Aldi of Southington, Philomena Irvolino of New Jersey, Christine Pierro of New York, and Julie and Neil Palma of Danbury; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Henry Witt Jr.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., to St. Thomas Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
