Edward E. Adamski
NAUGATUCK — Edward E. Adamski, of 83 School St., died Saturday at his home. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Papandrea) Adamski.
He is survived by one daughter, Ms. Cynthia M. Adamski of Naugatuck; and four sisters.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Fitzgerald-Zembruski-Mengacci Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Hedwig's Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Hedwig's Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck, CT 06770.
Poul Andersen
WALLINGFORD — Poul Andersen, 73, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of Elaine Fields Andersen.
He was born in Ostbirk, Denmark, Feb. 1, 1925, a son of the late Dr. Christian and Magda Niesen Andersen. Mr. Andersen received his master's degree from the University of Odens in Denmark. A resident of Wallingford since 1956, he was a project engineer at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation until his retirement in 1987, and was an inventor of over 12 patents.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons and a daughter-in-law, Karsten and Allison Andersen of Durango, Colo., and Christian Andersen of Applegate, Calif.; a granddaughter, Syndey Andersen of Durango; a brother, Erik Andersen of Nakskov, Denmark; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lis and Steffen Holm of Ebeltoft, Denmark; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours. Memorial gifts in his memory may be sent to the Connecticut Hospice Inc., 61 Burban Drive, Branford, CT 06450. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford, is in charge of the arrangements.
Anna Carlson
EAST HAVEN — Anna Carlson, 94, formerly of Viking Street, died Saturday at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a long illness. She was the widow of Sven A. Carlson.
She was born Aug. 31, 1904, in Kearney, N.J., a daughter of the late Edward and Agnes Mimno Murray. Before moving to East Haven she was a longtime resident of Hamden. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in East Haven and also a member of the Bojan Lodge #108 I.O.V. (Independent Order of Vikings)
She is survived by a son, J. Peter Carlson of Wallingford; and a daughter, Ellen McDermott of East Haven; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. from the W.S. Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Isabelle M. D'Addario
MERIDEN — Isabelle M. D'Addario, 83, of 65 Plumb Ave., wife of the late Anthony D'Addario, died on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.
Born in Meriden on Oct. 10, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Mary Matarese. She attended schools in Meriden and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. D'Addario was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of the Meriden Council of Catholic Women.
Mrs. D'Addario is survived by seven nephews, David Rabito, Carl D'Addario Jr., Mark D'Addario, Paul D'Addario, Larry D'Addario, Albert D'Addario Jr. and John D'Addario.
The funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to Mass.
Bernice A. Mik
MERIDEN — Bernice A. (Stefanowicz) Mik, 91, wife of the late John J. Mik Sr., died Friday evening, Jan. 8, 1999, at MidState Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Rockfall on Dec. 28, 1907, the daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Czapiga Stefanowicz, she had been a Meriden resident for most of her life. Mrs. Mik was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Society, the Sacred Heart Society, the St. Theresa Society, the Sunshine Club of St. Stanislaus Church, and of the Meriden Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara A. Mik of Meriden, with whom she resided, and Rita M. and James Rowley of Meriden; three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul F. and Patricia Mik of Meriden, Charles I. and Cheryl Mik of Durham, and John J. Jr. and Joyce Mik of Meriden; 11 grandchildren, James Rowley, Ann Lonczak, John Rowley, Paul, David and Susan Mik, Thomas and Stephen Mik, Catherine Landry, John M. Mik and Brian Mik; nine great-grandchildren, Gregory, Timothy and Stephen Lonczak, Matthew and Spencer Rowley, Emily Mik, Keegan and Piper Mik, and James Edward Rowley; one sister, Anne Ewanowski of Tampa, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Mary Ewanowski, Nellie Zuchowski, Josephine Stefanowicz and Sophe Burke; and three brothers, John, Frank and Joseph Stefanowicz.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at 9:45 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, Meriden. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Meriden. Bernard J. Pech
CHESHIRE — Bernard John Pech, 62, of 1219 Long Hill Road, husband of Norberta (Carvalho) Pech, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, in the Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Mr. Pech was born in New Haven, Nov. 4, 1936, a son of Lea (Paillett) Pech and the late Joachim Pech. He resided in Cheshire for 26 years after living in Hamden where he was educated in Hamden schools. At an early age he was employed with the U.S. Postal Service and after serving four years in the U.S. Air Force he began a long career with the Connecticut National Guard, retiring after 16 years of service and attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel, retired. Most of those years were with the 238th Squad in Hartford. He was a tai chi enthusiast and was employed the past three years with the Barnes and Noble Book Store Company.
In addition to his wife of Cheshire and his mother of Meriden, he leaves one son, Bernard Philip Pech of Cheshire; three daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Catherine) Smith of Bridgeport, Mrs. William (Janet Marie) Alden of Bristol and Leah Pech of Cheshire; two sisters, Ann Marie Gfell of Ohio and Frances Moynihan of Wallingford; three grandchildren, Austin and Kelsey Smith and Morgan Rose Nanfito.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Slater Funeral Home, 242 South Main St., Cheshire. Burial will be in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Arthur M. Addison
MERIDEN - Arthur M. "Scotty" Addison, 89, died May 29, 1999 at the Curtis Home in Meriden. Born in Springfield, Mass. Scotty had been a Meriden resident for over 50 years, virtually all at 46 Boylston St.
Long an employee of the Connecticut State Highway Dept. (now called the DOT), Scotty was the original foreman of construction and maintenance of the Merritt and Wilbur Cross Parkways. He joined the Employee Safety Division when it began and was later recognized by President Truman as one of the founders of safety engineering. Prior to his retirement, he was personnel director and had served as Deputy Highway Commissioner. In World War II he served with the Navy Seabees in the Pacific.
A mason for over 50 years, he had been active with the Meriden Friends of the Library, Meals on Wheels, and various photography and gardening groups.
Surviving Astrid Ericson Addison, his wife of 59 years, he leaves a daughter, Marion Foster of Schenectady, N.Y.; two grandsons, David Foster and Glenn Foster; and Adam Foster, his new great-grandson.

Minerva Austin
WALLINGFORD - Minerva Agostini Austin, 79, of West Street, Wallingford, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, in the MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late, Warren L. Austin.
Born in Durado, Puerto Rico, Oct. 10, 1919, daughter of the late Herman and Carmen Agostini, she was a Wallingford resident for 38 years. She had been employed by Wallace Silversmiths for 25 years until her retirement several years ago. She was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.
Mrs. Austin is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Warren L. Austin Jr., and Christine Austin of Wallingford; a grandson, Charles L. Austin; her three sisters, Carmen Kirchhoff of Meriden, Maria Vallejos of Wallingford, and Elizabeth DeAngelo of Meriden; her three brothers, Herman Agostini Jr., of Bristol, Charles Agostini of Wallingford and William Agostini of Meriden and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Charles L. Austin; and her sister, Delilah Jimenez.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Yalesville Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. in Most Holy Trinity Church for a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
Stephen Balogh
NORTH HAVEN - Stephen Balogh, 87, of 54 Potter Road, North Haven, died Monday, May 31, 1999, at the Skyview Health & Rehabilitation Center, Wallingford.
He was the husband of Janie Eldridge Balogh.
Father of Dorothy Peccerillo and the late Dominic Balogh, stepfather of Marilyn Lohrs, Beverly DeGraaf and Diane Signore, brother of Joseph Balogh and the late Louis and John Balogh, he is also survived by six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Antoinette DeLorenzo Balogh.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese's Church at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in North Haven Center Cemetery.
The visiting hours will be Wednesday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m.
Francis G. Ceruti
MERIDEN - Francis G. Ceruti, 76, of Meriden, husband of the late Rosalee (Matthews) Ceruti, died on Monday, May 31, 1999 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden after a lengthy illness. Born in Meriden on Jan. 18, 1923, he was the son of the late Charles and Minnie (Malchiodi) Ceruti. He attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of Meriden. Mr. Ceruti was employed by New Departure, Hyatt-Bearing Div. Of General Motors, for some 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army in the Atlantic Theatre of operations. Mr. Ceruti was a member of the North Italian Home Club.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Rudy Simchak of Medway, Mass.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald and Kathryn Ceruti of Meriden and Gary Ceruti of Meriden; four grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Claire and Anthony Barillaro and Gloria and Stanley Dankiw all of Meriden; one brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Florence Ceruti of Meriden and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Ceruti was predeceased by a brother, Louis Ceruti of Hollywood, Fla.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services with military honors to be held on Thursday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at the Mausoleum of Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., on Wednesday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
