Katherine G. Rinaldi
MERIDEN - Katherine G. Rinaldi, 93, of 23 Pine Tree Ridge, wife of the late Frank Rinaldi, died on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at the home of her grandson after a brief illness.
Born in Meriden on Oct. 4, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Katherine (Kenny) Gilmore. She attended Meriden schools and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Rinaldi was employed by SNET at one time, and later worked and retired from Cuno Manufacturing in Meriden. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mrs. Rinaldi is survived by a daughter, Marilou Church-Cone of Hamden; four grandsons and spouses, Eric and Madeline Church of Honolulu, Hawaii, Mark Church of Waterford, Michael and Donna Church of Meriden, and Keith and Cheryl Church, also of Meriden; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, John Rinaldi of Meriden; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a great-grandson, Michael Francis Church, Jr.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Fund, 115 Lewis Ave., Meriden, CT 06451.
Anthony J. Vitelli
WALLINGFORD - Anthony J. "Tony" Vitelli, 89, of Marc Drive, formerly of Simpson Avenue, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the husband of the late Beatrice Skawinski Vitelli.
Born in Wallingford, Nov. 29, 1909, he was a son of the late John and Mary D'Addio Vitelli and was a lifelong resident. He was the proprietor of Wallace Concessions at the former Wallace Silversmiths of Wallingford for many years until his retirement. He had been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Wallingford, the Wallingford Rod and Gun Club, Knights of Columbus Pinta Council No. 5, Loyal Order of Moose of Wallingford, Libero Pensiero Society of Wallingford and was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol L. and Lawrence Harrison of Wallingford and Mary Ann and Richard Zagula of South Meriden; seven grandchildren, Lawrence Harrison, Michelle Harrison, Paul Harrison, Michael Harrison, John Harrison, Elizabeth Zagula and Melissa Zagula; four great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Margaret and Raoul Lufbery of North Haven and Mary (Mrs. Angelo) D'Agostino of Anaheim, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Penny Vitelli of New Britain; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters, Rose Pelizza, Angela Santoni, Susan DiNoia, and Gloria Novak.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Wallingford, Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery
in Wallingford. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the charity of one's choice.
Frederick R. Bell
WALLINGFORD - Frederick R. Bell, 60, of North Colony Road, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, in his home.
Born in Meriden, July 23, 1938, son of Cecilia Furman Bell of Wallingford and the late Frederick C. Bell, he was a lifelong resident. He had been employed by the Revere Co., formerly of Wallingford, for 34 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Pinta Council 5 of Wallingford.
Besides his mother, he is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Frances and Henry Misiaszek of Wallingford, Mary and Louis Saraceno of Rocky Hill, and Barbara Bell of Meriden; two brothers; and a sister-in-law, Andre Bell of Wallingford, and Christopher and Rebecca Bell of Higganum; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by twin brothers, Edward and Joseph Bell.
Funeral services and burial in St. John Cemetery
were private. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford.
James V. Padula
WALLINGFORD - James V. Padula, 94, of Marc Drive, formerly of Meadow Street, husband of Jennie Tedoldi Padula, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at MidState Medical Center.
Jim was born in Marlborough, Mass., Sept. 18, 1904, son of the late Joseph and Rose Rosaria Padula, and had been a Wallingford resident since 1945. A sales representative for many years, he had also been proprietor of the former Mabel's Luncheonette in Wallingford for many years. He was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church. He was also a life member of the Wallingford Lodge of Elks No. 1365, and had been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, No. 1820, and the St. Pierre Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his stepdaughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Joseph F. Downing of Wallingford; four granddaughters, Natalie Johnson of Parsippany, N.J., Joanne Daviau of Wallingford, Roberta Gioffre of Stevensville, Md., and Dr. Donna Anderson of Albany, N.Y.; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Rose Padula of Marlborough, Mass.; three brothers, Charles Padula and John Padula, both of Marlborough, and Frank Padula of Nottingham, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mabel Padula, and his grandson, William L. Downing.

Carmelo Bongiovanni
HAMPSTEAD, N.C. — Carmelo Bongiovanni, 75, of 322 Champion Drive, husband of Evelyn Bongiovanni, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Wilmington, N.C., Hospice after a long illness.
Born in Floridia, Italy, on Nov. 24, 1923, he was the son of the late Giuseppi and Angelina Bongiovanni and had resided in Meriden, Conn., from 1953 to 1970. He was a graduate of high school in Port Chester, N.Y. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army in China, Burma and India. Mr. Bongiovanni was employed by Westvaco in Meriden, retiring in 1984. He was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church.
Besides his wife, Mr. Bongiovanni is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Terry D. and Eileen Bongiovanni of Meriden; five grandchildren, Nicole, Ty and Trey Bongiovanni of Meriden, and Vincent and Phillip Bongiovanni of Nebraska; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Joseph Romano of Bridgeport, Conn., Josephine Joanis of Windsor Locks, Conn., Mary Faraci of Floridia, Italy, and also Raymond Joanis; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Anthony and Joan Bongiovanni of Charlestown, R.I., and Sam Bongiovanni of Port Chester, N.Y.: and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Carlton Joseph Bongiovanni.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at 9:30 .a.m. in the Chapel at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 250 Gypsy Lane, Meriden. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons, 88 E. Main St., Meriden.
Fredrick C. Hecht
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — Fredrick C. Hecht, 195 Cheyenne Road, husband of the late Vivian (Johnson) Hecht, died Dec. 26, 1998.
He was born in Meriden, Conn., May 23, 1924, to Frederick K. and Anne (Hoyland) Hecht. He served in the Army in the Burma Campaign. He worked for the state Department of Transportation until he retired and moved to South Carolina.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Fred Hecht and John and Jane Hecht; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, John and Iris Hecht of Bethlehem, Conn., and James and Doris Hecht of Southington; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held in South Carolina. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice.
Dorothy N. Hull
WALLINGFORD — Dorothy Noble Fisher Hull, 84, of Nicholas Road, Yalesville section of Wallingford, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at the Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center in Meriden. She was the devoted and beloved wife of the late Jesse Conrad Hull. She surrendered her spirit after a long and courageous struggle against illness.
Interment services will be held Saturday (TODAY) at 1 p.m. in the Albany Rural Cemetery
in Menands, N.Y. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the North Central Hospice, 8 Keynote Drive, Vernon, CT 06066.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford.
Orsolina Kilcoyne
WALLINGFORD — Orsolina Kilcoyne, 90, formerly of Silver Pond Apartments, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at the Miller Memorial Community in Meriden. She was the wife of the late Leo Kilcoyne.
She was born March 7, 1908, in North Haven, a daughter of the late Carlos and Maria Bonetta Meda. She and her husband, Leo, had been the owners of Jet Bowling Lanes in North Haven. She was a parishioner of Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford. She had been a very active volunteer with the Red Cross during World War II and the bloodmobiles after that. She was a past president of the former Retired People's Club in Wallingford. She was a member of the YMCA and former member of the Wallingford Women's Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Claire Fowler of Wallingford and Monica Barnett of East Hartford; two sisters, Secundina Gattilia and Annette Orso, both of Wallingford; eight grandchildren, Earle Fowler, Sherry Perkowski, Marcia Monskal, Craig Fowler, Brenda Lyons, Maureen Barnett, Mary Kay Alexander and William S. Barnett; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Frederico Meda, and a son-in-law, William J. Barnett.
The funeral will leave the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford, at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, to the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford, for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at the funeral home. If friends so desire, gifts in her memory may be sent to the Miller Memorial Community, 360 Broad St., Meriden, CT 06450.
Mildred L. Murphy
BROCKTON, Mass. — Mildred L. (McCarty) Murphy, 88, of Brockton, died Friday morning, Jan. 22, 1999, in the Embassy House Healthcare in Brockton after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edward G. Murphy.
Born in Brockton, daughter of the late George and Mary (Cleary) McCarty, she was a lifelong resident. She retired from the Brockton VA Medical Center after many years.
Before entering the nursing home she was a resident of Sullivan Towers in Brockton. She enjoyed knitting and playing Bingo.
She is survived by a son, Edward F. Murphy of Meriden, Conn.; and a daughter, Mary L. Mohr of Las Vegas, Nev.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Beatrice McGrath, Frances Brown and Grace Crane.
The funeral will be held from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St., (Route 123), Brockton, Mass., Monday at 8 a.m. A funeral Mass will be held in St. Colman's Church, Brockton, at 9 a.m. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Rockland, Mass. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
