CATHERINE R. MASSOW
SOUTHINGTON — Catherine Richardson Massow, 83, of Mulberry Street, Plantsville, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at New Britain General Hospital. She was the widow of Raymond Massow, who died in 1970.
Born in Methuen, Mass, April 19, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Catherine (Currier) Richardson. Before her retirement 13 years ago, Catherine worked at Bradley Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Massow of Plantsville, Lynne Peasley of Forestville, Sandra Breedlove of Southington and Gail Jandreau of Meriden; a sister, Pauline Appalling of Plymouth; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Raymond, she was predeceased by a brother, Henry Richardson.
A graveside service will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 18, at noon. There are no calling hours. Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

DAVID A. STIMPSON
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — David A. Stimpson, 48, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Cancer Center in Florida after a long, courageous battle.
Born July 16, 1950, in Meriden, he was the son of Arlen G. Stimpson of Bristol and the late June Stimpson Davis. Mr. Stimpson attended schools in New Britain and Meriden and worked as a supervisor at the Marlin Firearms in North Haven until moving to Florida 11 years ago.
Besides his father, he is survived by his only son, David J. Stimpson of Meriden; his grandmother, Olive Stimpson of Wallingford; six sisters, Sherry Montijo, Crystal Portalatin and Yolanda Novicelli, all of Meriden, Yvonne Savaikis of Boone, N.C., Dawn Reynolds of Marietta, Ga., and Tammy Stimpson of Bristol; three brothers, John Stimpson of Meriden, Brian Stimpson of North Haven and Robin Stimpson of North Abington, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Arlen G. Stimpson Jr.
A memorial Mass celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, in St. Stanislaus Church in Meriden.

BOLESLAW SWISTAK
MERIDEN — Boleslaw Swistak, 65, of 51 Carl St., husband of Julia (Swita) Swistak, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at his home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. An obituary will appear in the Friday, Sept. 18 edition of the Record-Journal.
The Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, is in charge of the arrangements.

ANASTASIOS ALIMONOS
MERIDEN — Anastasios Alimonos, 81, of 19 Chatham Drive, South Meriden, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998, at his home. He was the husband of Christina Karuls Alimonos.
He was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Sparta, Greece, a son of the late Constantine and Vasoe Alimonos. He was a veteran of the Greek Army, serving during World War II. Until his retirement, he was a restaurant owner and operator. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Britain.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Steven Alimonos of South Meriden, Constantine Alimonos of New Jersey and John Alimonos of Greece; five brothers, Yano Alimonos, George Alimonos, Pedecle Alimonos and Ephemuo Alimonos, all of Greece, and Thanasis Alimonos of Florida; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Peter Alimonos.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford, with the Rev. James Bogiatzis of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Britain officiating. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at In Memoriam Cemetery, Wallingford.

ROSA FERNANDEZ
MERIDEN — Rosa (Corcino) Fernandez, 89, formerly of 80 Hanover St., Meriden, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at Regency House in Wallingford after a brief illness.
Born May 22, 1909, in Juncos, Puerto Rico, she was the wife of the late Pepe Urquizu, and widow of Michael Fernandez. Mrs. Fernandez lived in Meriden for over 50 years, having worked at the Bradley Home for some 10 years until she retired in 1974. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.
Mrs. Fernandez is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Muriel Urquizu of Meriden; three grandchildren, Robert of Wallingford, Melinda of Bristol and Richard of Meriden; and by one brother, Jenaro Corcino of Florida. Rosa is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Tulita Lopez.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Mausoleum of Sacred Heart Cemetery, with the Rev. Joseph E. Vujs officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden.

HENRY PASKI
MERIDEN — Henry Paski, 72, of 53 Lanouette St., husband of the late Janet (Ennis) Paski, died suddenly at home on Thursday, Sept. 17, 1998.
Born in Wallingford on Nov. 6, 1925, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Paski and had lived in Meriden for more than 30 years. Mr. Paski was employed by the C.F. Wooding Co., formerly in Wallingford, for more than 22 years, retiring in 1984. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Paski is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Greg Charlton of Meriden and Mary and Michael Griswold of New Britain; a son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Barbara Paski of Port St. John, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Griswold, Henry Paski, Ashley, Bryan and Jerri-Lynn Charlton and Holly and Cierra Paski; and a sister, Alice Paski of Middletown.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial with military honors will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

LEAH PATTERSON
MERIDEN — Leah (Edwards) Patterson, 88, of 320 Colony St., wife of the late William Patterson, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at Veterans Memorial Medical Center, West Campus, after a brief illness.
Born in New Jersey on Aug. 30, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Sarah (Wilde) Edwards. She had lived in Meriden for the past five years. Mrs. Patterson was employed by Chemical Bank of New York for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Episcopal church for many years.
Mrs. Patterson is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998, at 2 p.m. at the Bradley Home, 320 Colony St., Meriden. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to the Bradley Home, 320 Colony St., Meriden, CT 06451. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden.

BOLESLAW SWISTAK
MERIDEN — Boleslaw (Benny) Swistak, 65, husband of Julia (Swita) Swistak, of 51 Carl St., died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998 at his home after a long illness.
Born July 13, 1933 in Glinik Sredni, Poland, he was the son of Elizabeth (Salomon) Swistak and the late Walter Swistak Sr. Mr. Swistak was employed by the International Silver Co. for 24 years. He retired from the Swistak Builders Co. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves two daughters and a son-in-law, Irene and James Hanley of Woodbury and Elizabeth Swistak of Meriden; a grandson, Mathew Hanley of Woodbury; three brothers, Edmund, John and Walter Swistak Jr.; a sister, Helen LaMothe of Meriden.
His funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, at 8:45 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial. The committal service will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.

KEITH B. WINCHELL
WALLINGFORD — Keith B. Winchell, 72, of Chimney Hill Road, Yalesville, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, at Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center in Meriden. He was the husband of Jean M. Hart Winchell.
Born in Watertown, March 25, 1925, he was a son of the late Harry and Florence Clark Winchell. He had been a lifelong resident of Yalesville. He had been employed at the Allegheny-Ludlum Steel Corp. in Wallingford for 28 years, until his retirement in 1992. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Stanley Budleski Post No. 9965 in Yalesville. He was also a member of Compass Lodge No. 9, AF&AM, in Wallingford and had been a member of the Yalesville Volunteer Fire Department.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara J. and Raymond Seagrave of Hope, R.I., Donna M. and Brian Videto of Syracuse, N.Y., Patti A. and Gary Morris of Wallingford and Diane L. and Erich Golschneider of Corinth, Vt.; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark E. and Susan Winchell of Middlefield; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward R. and Myrtle Winchell of Yalesville, a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Michael Bruno of Fullerton, Calif.; his stepmother, Arlene Winchell of Wallingford; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Harrie Winchell.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville, Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998, from 2 to 6 p.m. Interment in State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to Hospice Community Services, 658 Broad St., Meriden, CT 06450.
