GEORGE C. DOMINELLO SR.
MERIDEN — George C. Dominello Sr., 76, of 44 N. Spring St., husband of Elizabeth (Selesh) Dominello, died on Monday evening, Aug. 31, 1998, at Meriden Care & Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.
Born in Meriden on May 9, 1922, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Theresa (Barillaro) Dominello. He lived in Meriden his entire life and had attended local schools. Mr. Dominello was employed by New Departure-Hyatt Bearing Division of General Motors for more than 42 years, retiring in 1981, and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Besides his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, George and Molly Dominello of West Hartford, Paul and Margaret Dominello of Meriden and Sal and Nancy Dominello of Southington; eight grandchildren, Alan, William and Beth; Cera, Jesse and Cayla; Daniel and Douglas; four sisters, Lucille Dominello, Gloria Dominello, Mafalda Summers and Yolanda Canalia, all of Meriden; and two brothers, Matthew Dominello of Meriden and Salvatore Dominello of Southington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass. DOMENIC J. FORCELLA
PLAINVILLE — Domenic J. Forcella, 77, of 25 Hough St., died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at the Southington Care Center after a short illness. He leaves his loving wife of 55 years, Josephine (D'Agostino) Forcella.
He was born June 19, 1921, in Plainville, son of the late Orazio and Uliana (DiBerardino) Forcella. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he had been employed by G.E. of Plainville for 43 years. He was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. He graduated from Plainville High School and Hillyer College. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church. Mr. Forcella was Chairman of the Plainville Town Council for five years. He was founder and past president of the Great Plains Toastmaster Club, and achieved the highest award that Toastmaster bestows, the "Distinguished Toastmaster." He received the V.F.W. Sportsman of the Year Award in 1972.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Domenic Forcella of Newington; a daughter, JoAnne Forcella of Plainville; a brother, Anthony Forcella of Plainville; and a sister, Josephine (Forcella) Fiorente of Bristol and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held Friday 9 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, to Our Lady of Mercy Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be with military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery

THOMAS L. MUCCI
MERIDEN — Thomas L. Mucci, 73, husband of Rose Chiaro Mucci, formerly of 140 Grove St., died Wednesday morning at the Silver Springs Nursing Center after a long illness.
He was born in Meriden, Nov. 25, 1924, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Rocco Mucci Sr. He was a lifelong resident. He retired in 1983 from the Carabetta Enterprises after 20 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sisters and brothers-in-law, Angeline and Cielo Novicelli, Grace and Frank Krystock, Gloria and Joseph Mozzicato and Inez and Alfred Arsenault, all of Meriden; and a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Jennie Mucci Jr., of Middletown; several nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to attend his Funeral Services, Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, beginning at 9:15 a.m. from the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 o'clock. He will be buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call in the funeral home, Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, from 6 to 8 p.m.
RAFAEL ROLON
MERIDEN — Rafael Rolon, 42, of Meriden, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at Veterans Memorial Medical Center.
Born Aug. 8, 1956, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, he was a son of Maria Marrero and Juan Estrella.
Besides his parents in Meriden, his is survived by two brothers, Luis Rolon, of Santurce, Puerto Rico, and Daniel Estrella of Meriden; five sisters, Felicita Rolon, Noemi Bautista, Awilda, Griselle, and Janette Estrella, all of Meriden; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Gennaro J. Capobianco-Greater Hartford Funeral Services, 598 Farmington Ave., Hartford. The funeral will be held Friday with graveside services at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden.
JOHN P. BUTLER
SOUTHINGTON — John P. Butler, 74, of Flanders West, in Southington, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at Bradley Memorial Hospital.
Born in West Hartford, Nov. 11, 1923, he was the son of the late Patrick J. and Anna T. (Matchett) Butler. John was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a bus driver with New Britain Transportation for over 35 years.
John is survived by his companion, Rocket; two sons, Ray Angell of Southington and Patrick Butler of Waterbury; three daughters, Bonnie D'Ottavio of Wareham, Mass., Marilyn Karto of Windsor Locks and Beverly Bouley of Ocala, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998, at Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
EDMUND T. COBEY
MERIDEN — Edmund T. Cobey, 80, of 360 Broad St., husband of Helen (Kane) Cobey, died on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Hartford on March 23, 1918, he was the son of the late Theodore and Mary (Gula) Cobey. He lived in Meriden for most of his life, attended local schools, and was a graduate of Franklin Institute. Mr. Cobey was employed by New Departure, Hyatt-Bearing Division of General Motors in Meriden, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific Theatre as a radar operator with the rank of sergeant. Edmund was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, a member of the Eagles Club, the VFW of Meriden and the Marine Corps League.
Besides his wife, Helen, he is survived by two sisters, Theodora Pat Reid and Claire C. Barre, both of Meriden; one niece, Carol Winberry (Weeks) of Branchburg, N.J.; four nephews, Kenneth and Mark Kulluson of Roseburg, Ore., Raymond Weeks Jr. of Wayne, N.J., and Scott Barre of Meriden. He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Raymond Weeks Sr. of South Plainfield, N.J.; and by several grandnieces and grandnephews. Mr. Cobey was predeceased by three sisters, Helen Weeks, Cecelia Kulluson and Florence "Betty" Cobey.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Rose Restoration Fund, 35 Center St., Meriden, CT 06450. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St.
MARIA DIMAURO
MIDDLETOWN — Maria (Marchese) DiMauro, 96, wife of the late Sebastiano Marchese of Rapallo Avenue entered into eternal rest Thursday at Wadsworth Glen Health Care Center.
She was born Nov. 2, 1901, in Melilli, Province of Siracusa, Sicily, Italy, daughter of the late Peter and Sebastiana (Bellabono) Marchese. She was a member of St. Sebastian Church and the Italian Society of Middletown. Prior to her retirement she worked alongside her husband in their business.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Salvatore and Theresa DiMauro of Rockfall; two daughters, Annette Grimaldi of Middletown and Elena and her husband, Vincent of Kensington. Surviving grandchildren include, Andrea Pirog, Peter Grimaldi, atty. Frank Grimaldi, Vivian Roberts, Robert Rossitto, Doreen Freeman, atty. Thomas DiMauro, Doria Mildren; also nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Lucia, Aurora and Theresa; five brothers, Sebastian, Salvatore, Luigi, Vincenzo and Orazio and a grandson, Paul Grimaldi.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 S. Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Sebastian Church Renovation Fund, 155 Washington St., Middletown.
ELVON HENNESSY
OCALA, Fla. — Elvon Earl Hennessy died suddenly Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at home in Ocala. He was the husband of Helen Murial (Wright) Hennessy.
He was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Birds Creek Ontario, Canada. He moved his family to Connecticut in early 1960 to pursue a career in drop forging. He retired in 1992.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Bryan Hennessy of Jay, Maine, Paul and Gail Hennessy of Meriden, and Brent Hennessy of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Brad Noyes of Meriden; and three grandchildren, Danielle Noyes, Jayson Hennessy and Kelly Hennessy all of Meriden.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the American Red Cross, Wallingford Chapter.
JOHN P. SCHULZ JR.
MERIDEN — John P. Schulz Jr., 74, of 1015 Old Colony Road, died Wednesday evening in the Southington Care Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Meriden, May 24, 1922, the son of John P. and Hazel M. Norrie Schulz Sr. He was a life long resident. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Schulz retired from the Revere Corp. of Wallingford in 1986 after 15 years of employment.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Stephen Koski of Aurora, Colo., and Linda and Anthony Paguni of Southington; three grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon Paguni and Laura Ballou; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Sperl of Middlefield and Phyllis Watson of Palm City, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to participate in his funeral service Sept. 4, 1998, at 2 p.m. in the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St. He will be interred in West Cemetery, Meriden. There will be visitation beginning at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.
