Richard M. Burner
WALLINGFORD — Richard M. Burner, 87, of Parker Farms Road, Wallingford, husband of Dorothy Getchell Burner, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 1998, surrounded by his wife and children at their Wallingford home.
Mr. Burner was the chairman of the Mathematics Department at Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford from 1944 to 1980. He was born July 28, 1911, in North Lisbon, N.H., a son of the late Samuel J. and Georgiana St. Croix Burner. He was a graduate of Holy Cross College and held a Master of Science degree from Clark University in Worcester, Mass., and a sixth-year certificate from Fairfield University in Fairfield. He worked at Holy Cross College in Worcester and Hardwick High School in Gilbertville, Mass., before coming to Wallingford. He had been a member of the National Education Association, the Connecticut Education Association and the Wallingford Education Association.
Besides his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his children and their spouses: Judy Burner of Kilauea, Kauai, Hawaii; Richard and Rebecca Burner of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Christopher and Sandra Burner of Vail, Colo.; Mary-kay and Chris Canfield of Sarasota, Fla.; Francis Burner of Emeryville, Calif.; Michael and Darcy Gibbons Burner of Redmond, Wash.; Stephen Burner and his wife, Margaret Hardner of Cheshire; and Peter Burner of Kilauea, Kauai, Hawaii. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Jade and Obie Beaver, Naomi (Beaver) Mersberg, Kirsten and Hanna Canfield; Kira, Makena, and Lukas Burner; Rich and Simon Burner; and Caitlin and Nora Burner. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert L. Burner.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 382 Hope Hill Road, Yalesville, Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will be private in St. John's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Visiting Nurse Association of Wallingford, P.O. Box 657, Wallingford, CT 06492. Arrangements are under the direction of the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville.

Ruth A. Faith
SOUTHINGTON — Ruth A. Faith, 96, formerly of Blatchley Avenue in Southington, died Friday, Oct. 23, 1998 at Ridgewood Convalescent Home in Southington.
Born Dec. 22, 1901, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Eliza (Peete) Faith. She was a registered nurse supervisor at Bristol Hospital for 35 years before her retirement.
She is survived by several cousins and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at South End Cemetery on Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998, at 11 a.m. There are no calling hours. Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Russell L. Griswold Jr.
OCALA, Fla. — Russell L. Griswold Jr., 53, of Ocala, Fla., died Oct. 19, 1998, in Fremont, Ind.
He was born May 6, 1945, in Springfield, Mass. He was a resident of North Haven, Conn., and later Wallingford, all of his life until moving to Florida in 1978. He was employed by Service Trucking in Eustis, Fla., as a long-distance driver.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy B. Griswold of Ocala; his parents, Russell L. and Jean Rosa Griswold of Wallingford; a daughter, Robin Raines of New Port Richey, Fla.; a son, U.S. Navy CPO Steven Griswold, stationed in Cairo, Egypt; a grandson, Charles Russell Raines of Florida; two sisters, Roberta Denya of Wallingford and Jennifer Griswold of Meriden; two brothers, Scott Griswold of Vernon and David Griswold of Meriden; six stepchildren, Debra Petronovich of San Diego, Calif., Tamela Schaetzl, Tracy Thomas, and Leonard Shriner, all of Ocala, Timothy Thomas, of Coconut Creek, Fla., Terri Williams of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and their children.
Funeral services were held in Ocala on Oct. 24 at the Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, with the Rev. Patrick Sheedy officiating. Interment was in Highland Memorial Park in Ocala.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford, Saturday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.

Mark A. Killinger
SAN FRANCISCO — Mark Andrew Killinger, 26, died Oct. 16, 1998, in San Francisco.
Born May 27, 1972 in West Lafayette, Ind., Mr. Killinger had played on the Southington (Conn.) High School soccer team and later volunteered as a soccer coach after graduating with honors from the University of Wisconsin.
He is survived by his father, Thomas Killinger of Southington, his mother, Joanne Christofferson of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and his brother, Andrew, of Fort Collins, Colo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mark Killinger Scholarship Fund, c/o Thomas Killinger and Bedoukian Research Inc., 21 Fiance Drive, Danbury, CT 06810.
The DellaVecchia Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Diane Matukaitis
SOUTHINGTON — Diane Kowalczyk Matukaitis, 53, of Burritt Street in the Plantsville section of Southington, died unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998. She was the wife of Anthony Matukaitis.
Born in Middletown on May, 18, 1945, she was the daughter of Jennie Wastafski Kowalczyk and the late Stanley Kowalczyk. She was raised in New Britain, where she graduated from the local schools before moving to Southington more than 20 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Aloysius Church.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Anthony Matukaitis of Plainville; two daughters, Lisa and Kimberly Matukaitis, both of Plantsville; a sister, Virginia Lewandowski of Southington; two brothers, Robert Kowalczyk of Southington and Richard Kowalczyk of New Britain; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville, with a Mass of Christian burial at St. Aloysius Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Barbara Ricker
CHESHIRE — Mrs. Barbara (Wickman) Ricker, 60, of 241 E. Mitchell Ave., died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998 at the Westfield Nursing Care Center, Meriden, after a long illness. She was the wife of Robert G. Ricker.
She was born in New Haven, Nov. 29, 1937, daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Fimister) Wickman, and had lived in Cheshire for more than 50 years. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church, taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was employed as a certified nurse's aide at Elim Park Baptist Home for 11 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Junior Women's Club.
Besides her husband of 38 years, she leaves a son, Gary R. Ricker of Southington; two daughters, Sharon Keiser of Fairfield and Holly Ricker of Meriden; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, On-the-Green. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Congregational Church, On-the-Green, Cheshire, CT 06410.

Thomasina D. Sanson
MERIDEN — Thomasina "Sue" DeLano Sanson, 78, of Ian Drive, Meriden, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998 in the MidState Medical Center.
She was the wife of the late Tony F. Sanson.
Born in Cambridge, Mass., April 15, 1920, she was a Meriden resident for many years.
She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.
Mrs. Sanson had been employed by the former Meriden-Wallingford Hospital until her retirement several years ago.
Mrs. Sanson is survived by her five daughters and their spouses, Emelia "Millie" (Mrs. Santos) Perez, Eleanor Sanson and Victor Matias, Virginia and Michael Ford, all of Meriden; Susan and Gary Disbrow of Middlefield and Mary Ann and James Fuller of Meriden; a son and his spouse, Frank A. Sanson and Debbie Juan of Wallingford; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. in The Yalesville Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Josephine Dutkiewicz
KENSINGTON — Josephine C. (Wysocki) Dutkiewicz, 73, of Orchard Road, Kensington, wife of Edward P. Dutkiewicz Sr., died Tuesday Oct. 27, 1998, at home.
Born in Meriden, the daughter of the late Frank and Constance (Wezniak) Wysocki, she had been a resident of Kensington for the past 43 years.
She retired from Emhart Manufacturing, where she worked as an inspector.
She was a member of the Church of Transfiguration in New Britain.
She was a generous and caring person who did charitable work within the Polish community in Berlin.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Phillip J. Dutkiewicz of Berlin, Edward P. and Cindy Dutkiewicz Jr. of Largo, Fla., and Mark E. Dutkiewicz of New Britain; four daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Dr. Monte Kay of Newton, Mass., Joan D. and James Carey of Berlin, Mary and Rik Stettmeier of Berlin and Laura Dutkiewicz Divane and Peter Divane of Berlin.
The funeral procession will be Friday, Oct. 30 at 11:30 a.m. from the Berlin Memorial Funeral Home, 96 Main Street, Kensington, followed by a noon Mass at the Church of Transfiguration.
Interment will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Meriden.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
