CARMEN MARCELO
WALLINGFORD — Carmen Frau Marcelo, 95, formerly of McKenna Court, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, at Regency House of Wallingford.
Mrs. Marcelo was born in Spain, Aug. 8, 1903, a daughter of the late Liberato and Trinidad Tomas Frau, and had lived in New York City and Florida for many years until moving to Wallingford in 1970.
She is survived by her sister, Pilar Casasin of New York City, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Herminia Aparisi and Trinidad Garcia.
Relatives and friends may attend a funeral service Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, at noon at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford. Interment will be private in St. John Cemetery.
RUDOLPH C. PAPALLO
MERIDEN — Rudolph C. Papallo, 79, of 475 High Hill Road, husband of the late Edith I. (Frasco) Papallo, died early Thursday morning, Oct. 1, 1998, at Westfield Care & Rehab Center in Meriden.
Born in Meriden on March 5, 1919, he was the son of the late Rocco and Virginia (Apedisano) Papallo. He was educated in Meriden schools and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Papallo was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Co. in East Hartford, retiring 17 years ago. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy, and he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mr. Papallo is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne P. and Kevin T. Paddock of Meriden; a son, Peter R. Papallo of Meriden; two grandchildren, Katherine and Kerry Paddock; a sister, Sister Mary Matthew; and two brothers, Rodney Papallo of Meriden and Nathan Papallo of Petersburg, Va.; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Francis, Roy and Joseph Papallo.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 8:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., and at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. MARY D. RIOUX
POWNAL, Vt. — Mary D. Rioux, 66, formerly of Meriden, Conn., died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, in Vermont. She was the wife of Roland J. Rioux.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Donna Rioux of Pownal; a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Lee Turner of Thomaston; a daughter, Mary E. Wright of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Karen Rioux Lincoln of Clark Ridge, Ark.; five brothers including Matthew Doyle of Meriden; a sister; and ten grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, North Pownal at 11 a.m. Burial will take place in Pownal.

CLARENCE A. SCHNICK
MERIDEN — Clarence A. Schnick, 85, of Meriden, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, at the Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center. He was the husband of Martha Breitenbach Schnick.
He was born in Meriden, Aug. 20, 1913, a son of the late Albert F. and Bertha Schulz Schnick. He was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was employed at New Departure, retiring after 15 years of service. He had also worked at the former Revere Co. in Wallingford. He also was an avid hunter and photographer.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Evelyn (Lynn) Stanton and husband, Edward of Meriden, Janet R. Peichert and dear friend Roger Svensk, both of New Britain; two grandchildren, Michael P. Lally III and wife, Laura of Glastonbury and Heather Anne Lally of Meriden; a brother, Arthur W. Schnick of Meriden; a sister-in-law, Peggy Breitenbach of Wallingford; two nieces, Karen Ubner of New York and Diane Campbell of Texas , and a stepbrother, Bill Currier of North Haven.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave. The Rev. Perry L. Beaver and Alon White will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Gethsemane Cemetery

MOLLY LEGRAND
WALLINGFORD — Molly Jean LeGrand, one year and three month old daughter of Joseph J. LeGrand III and Mary Labagnara LeGrand, of 12 Park Lane, died at her home Friday, Oct. 2, 1998.
She was the sister of Margaret C. LeGrand, granddaughter of Eugene and Carole Labagnara, Joseph J. LeGrand Jr., and the late Margaret W. LeGrand; and great-granddaughter of Harriett Sharron.
Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Frances Cabrini Church, Pond Hill Road, North Haven, on Monday morning at 11 a.m. for a Mass of the Angels. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. Please omit flowers and make contributions to the Molly L. MARY YACCARINO
WALLINGFORD — Mary Yafuri Yaccarino, 91, formerly of 656 E. Center St., died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, at the Skyview Health and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. She was the widow of Daniel Yaccarino Sr.
Mrs. Yaccarino was born in Staten Island, N.Y., on March 31, 1907, and was the daughter of the late Luigi and Assunta Tafuri. She was a resident of Wallingford for many years and had worked for Winchester's for many years.
She leaves a daughter, Marie Grillo of Wallingford; sons, Louis D. Yaccarino of East Haven and Vincent M. Yaccarino Sr. of North Haven; sisters, Emma Catella and Gloria Libretto of Staten Island, N.Y.; and a brother Rudy Tafuri of New Jersey. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Anna DiAmbrosio, Jeannie Iannatto, Elena Tafuri and brothers, Louis, Bernie, Vincent and Americus Tafuri.
Funeral services will be private in All Saints Cemetery. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, is in care of the arrangements.
WALTER J. MOISUK
MERIDEN — Walter John Moisuk, 78, husband of 44 years to the late Mary (Ruducha) Moisuk, died Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, at MidState Medical Center.
Born in New Britain, Aug. 18, 1920, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Szymanski) Moisuk. Walter lived most of his life in Meriden, where he worked as chief cable splicer for Connecticut Light & Power until his retirement in 1983 after 36 years. He attended New Britain schools and later helped clear forestlands in the far West during the 1930s in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). He was a chief petty officer in the United States Navy during World War II, serving in both the European and Pacific theatres including the Burma Campaign. "Wally" was always willing to lend a hand to his large, extended family of neighbors and friends in the communities of Meriden and New Britain. Whether he was upgrading plumbing at the St. Thomas Aquinas High School, rewiring computers at St. Stanislaus School, repairing clothes dryers at neighbors' homes or fixing water pipes at local businesses, "Wally" left his handyman's mark throughout these communities. He was an active parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church and was involved in the Boy Scouts of America, spending many years on the board of the former Central Connecticut District Council BSA and helping to convert the Deer Lake Reservation in Killingworth into a first-rate Boy Scout camp.
Walter is survived by his four children and their families, Kathleen Driver and her husband, David, of Meriden, John Moisuk of Meriden, Carol Vernale and husband, Joseph, of Southington and Ronald Moisuk and wife, Roxanne, of Lakeland, Fla.; four grandchildren, Alex, Toby and Mary Tess Driver and Lucas Vernale; a godson, John Buda; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Hermanowski and his three brothers, Stephen, Michael and Joseph Moisuk.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. LINDA L. STEEL-WARD
WALLINGFORD — Linda Lee Steele-Ward, 47, of South Elm St., died suddenly in Hartford Hospital, Friday, Oct. 2, 1998.
She is survived by her husband, Peter Ward, of Wallingford; two daughters, Shelly and Stacey Steel of Milford; three sons, Gary (Albert) Coffren of Meriden, Peter Jr. and John Ward, both of Wallingford; her parents, Norman and Elizabeth Howard of Maine; a brother, Philip Predham of Maine; a sister, Debra Eagleheart of Fla.; and one grandson.
The Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., on-the-green, Milford is in charge of arrangements. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Gulf St., Milford on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998 at 11 a.m. The funeral procession will leave Smith Funeral Home at 10:15 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. LILLIAN HILL
PHOENIX — Lillian Rule Hill, 71, passed unto the Lord on Sept. 30, 1998, in her home in Phoenix. She was the wife of the late Orlin Hill.
Born in Meriden, Conn., Aug. 5, 1927, daughter of the late Simon A. and Lillian Rice Rule, she had been a Meriden resident before moving to Arizona 25 years ago. She attended Meriden schools and had been employed by the Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Co., in North Haven, Conn., for 20 years. She and her family moved to Arizona and she then had been employed by Allied Signal Co. for 20 years until her retirement in 1993. She had been an active member of the First Methodist Church in Meriden for over 50 years and had been an active member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Meriden Chapter #8.
Mrs. Hill is survived by her daughter, Barbara Reiterman of Meriden; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Linda Rundlett of Suisun City, Calif.; her grandchildren, Gregory Freiler of Phoenix, Sheila Clark of Meriden, Christina Rundlett, and Rebecca Rundlett, both of Suisun City; her sister and her spouse, Marie and Roman Wnek of Sun Lakes; four brothers and their spouses, Carlton and Iris Rule of Lake Park, Fla., William and Ruth Rule of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Hubert Rule of Meriden and Richard and Jeanette Rule of the Yalesville section of Wallingford, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lillian Rundlett Freiler; and her three brothers, Benjamin Rule, Ernest Rule, and Robert Rule.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Yalesville funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Yalesville Funeral Home. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the American Diabetes Association Connecticut Affiliate, 300 Research Pkwy., Meriden, CT 06450.
