Ingrid Leffer
WALLINGFORD – Ingrid Liedke Leffer, 87, of 666 N. Elm St., wife of Frederick Leffer, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at home. She was born on July 25, 1911, in Nordmaling, Sweden, a daughter of the late Eric and Emma Lindquist Forslund. The oldest of 14 children, she was the only one to move to the United States of America.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Wallingford. She was a past matron of the former Mizpah Chapter 37, Order of the Eastern Star. Before her retirement in 1973 she was employed for 26 years by the Masonic Home and Hospital, now known as Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a stepson, John L.G. Leffer of Gurney, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Ann Porter of Wallingford, Margaret Flood of San Antonio, Texas , and Ann Ingrid Millikan of Harrington Park, N.J. She was predeceased by her first husband, Alfred Liedke, and a step-son, Frederick W. Leffer.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 235 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford. Burial will be at In Memoriam Cemetery. Friends may call at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Joseph J. Morneau
WEST HAVEN — Joseph J. Morneau, 86, husband of Priscilla Comeau Morneau of 1187 Campbell Ave., died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a long illness. He was a former resident of Wallingford before moving to West Haven 17 years ago.
Mr. Morneau was born in Salem, Mass., on Sept. 13, 1912, son of the late Pascal and Marguerite Pelletier Morneau. He retired in 1975 after 24 years as a machinist for Pratt & Whitney Corp. in North Haven.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Normand J. Morneau of New Haven and Henry P. Morneau of Newark, Del.; three daughters, Lorraine S. McCarthy of El Paso, Texas , Donna M. Renkewitz of North Haven and Rosalie M. Killian of West Haven; two brothers, Alfred Morneau of Salem, Mass., and Robert Morneau of Beverly, Mass.; twelve grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held from the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St., West Haven, Saturday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Church, West Haven, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Erma M. Kuczynski
WALLINGFORD — Erma Marie Kuczynski, formerly of 1 Balsom Road, Wallingford, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998. She was the wife of Stanley Kuczynski.
Born in New Haven on Dec. 2, 1917, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (McSweet) Douglas. She had been a resident of Wallingford for 40 years and had recently resided in East Berlin.
Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Michael Palinkos of Southington and Lori and Timothy Freeland of East Berlin; three sisters, Anna Kennedy of Mount Carmel, Lillian Donnelly and Hilda Cameron, both of West Haven; six cherished grandchildren, Colleen, Brian and Mackenzie Freeland, Emily, Meghan and Kathryn Palinkos; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 145 Main St., Southington. Burial will be at In Memoriam Cemetery, Wallingford. Calling hours will be TODAY (Friday) 6 to 8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Emily Stefanowicz
MIDDLEFIELD — Emily (Toman) Stefanowicz, 81, of Peters Lane, Rockfall, wife of the late Joseph F. Stefanowicz, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at the Middlesex Hospital.
Born in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Kopeczyk) Toman. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Joe's Service Station owned and operated by her husband. She was a former secretary of the Middlefield Senior Citizens, a former aerobics instructor for the Middlefield Senior Citizens and a member of the Kosciuszko Society of Rockfall.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Janet Stefanowicz of Bristol; a grandson, Brian Stefanowicz; two brothers, Edward Toman of Meriden and Walter Toman of Southington; a sister, Barbara T. Miselis of West Hartford; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday at 8:15 a.m. from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a 9 a.m. funeral liturgy in St. Mary's Church, Middletown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Josephine Tarantino
BRISTOL — Josephine Tarantino, 73, of Gaylord Street, a former Southington resident died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, at Bristol Hospital. She was the wife of John Tarantino.
Born Nov. 20, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Concetta (Raspi) Mancini. She was a member of the Woman of the Moose Club in Southington for over 35 years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, John A. Tarantino and Anthony J. Tarantino, both of Southington, and Michael G. Tarantino of Bristol; seven daughters, Josephine Blanchette, Kathryn Farr, Anna Donna, all of Bristol; Conjetta Chretien of Plantsville, Irene Dobson of Broadbrook, Joanne Scarritt of Florida and Lucille Theriault of Windsor; three brothers, Carl Mancini of Norwalk, Michael Mancini and Louis Mancini of Stamford; 24 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph Tarantino, and a sister, Jennie Fabrictacatore.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 8:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, to St. Thomas Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery
in Southington. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Marion Wawrzeniak
SARASOTA, Fla. — Marion "Banjo" Wawrzeniak, 83, of Sarasota, died Nov. 10, 1998.
He was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Wallingford, Conn., and came to Sarasota 15 years ago from Meriden, Conn. He was a die cutter for International Silver Corporation for 44 years. He was governor of the Moose Club in Wallingford.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Palumbo of Sarasota and Lorraine Bailey of Wallingford; a brother, Peter of North Haven, Conn.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Linda Appell
BELFAST, Maine — Linda Appell, 51, wife of Roger Appell, of Belfast, formerly of Wallingford, Conn., died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast.
She was born on Sept. 6, 1947, in St. Paul, Minn., a daughter of Norman Deming of Wallingford and the late Wanda Anderson Deming.
A former member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Wallingford, she had moved to Maine from Wallingford one and a half years ago. Before her retirement due to illness, she was employed by the Coginchaug Regional High School and fondly called the "lunch lady."
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by three sons, Michael R. Appell of Wallingford, Brian D. Appell and Kevin C. Appell, both of Belfast; a brother, Mark Deming of Meriden; three sisters, Caroline Deming of Rocky Hill, Heidi Deming and Barbara Pisarz of Wallingford. She was predeceased by a sister, Christine Danby.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 235 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford 06492. Burial will be at the In Memoriam Cemetery. Friends may call at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford, on Monday, Nov. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. It is suggested that gifts in her memory be sent to the National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, MD 20814, or the National Arboretum, 3501 New York Ave., NE, Washington , D.C. 20002-1958.
Tressa M. Furrow
SOUTHINGTON — Tressa M. Furrow, 84, of 1055 Marion Ave., Marion, died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Norman G. Furrow.
Born in Prentis, Maine, on April 20, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Milford and Agnes Mott. She had owned and operated the Furrow Real Estate Agency in Southington for many years. Mrs. Furrow had also been an antique dealer in the Storrs area.
She is survived by two daughters, Beth Scott Cox and son-in-law, Robert of Marion, and Paula Furrow of Scotland, Conn.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth C. and Mary Scott of Lincoln, Maine, and Paul G. and Diane Furrow of Norwalk; a stepson, Norman E. Furrow, and his wife, Anita, of Southington; two stepdaughters, Judy Tatters of Wethersfield and Marian Hoyt of Tempe, Ariz.; three sisters, Ressa Mott of Lincoln, Maine, Fern Whitley of California, and Velma Allen of Lee, Maine; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., has charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Bread for Life, 145 Main St., Southington, CT 06489.
Lillian B. Kelman
WALLINGFORD — Lillian B. Hewitt Kelman, 82, of Clifton St., died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998, at the Curtis Home in Meriden. She was the wife of the late Harold J. "Skinny" Kelman.
Born in Scotia, N.Y., Jan. 10, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Frances Stanslaski Hewitt and was a lifelong resident of Wallingford. She was employed by the former Wallace Silversmiths of Wallingford for many years until her retirement and was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Trudi M. and Thomas G. Heft, Ruth Ann and Ronald W. Vogt; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles A. and JoAnn Kelman, all of Wallingford; seven grandchildren, Pamela Reed, Kristine Kelman, Darlyn Kelman, Todd Heft, Tyler Heft, Rachel Vogt and Mark Vogt; five great-grandchildren, Kevin, Daniel, Alex, Ryan and Ashlie; three sisters, Mary (Mrs. Joseph) Jackowski of Wallingford, Ruth (Mrs. James) DelPizzo of Ocala, Fla., and Pauline (Mrs. Joseph) Lawrence of Hollywood, Fla. She was predeceased by a sister, Theresa N. Stupakevich, and three brothers, Edward and Pierrie Appell and Charles Hewitt.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Sunday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery
