John Lasso
WALLINGFORD — John Lasso, of 21 Burke Heights Drive, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998, at his home. He was the husband of Patricia Neary Lasso.
He was born in Providence, R.I., and was a draftsman at Pratt and Whitney for 41 years. He had been a Wallingford resident for 38 years. He was a past president of the Rock Hill School PTA and had been involved in Little League and Biddy Basketball, basketball and softball in Wallingford and North Haven for years. He had been involved in volunteer work for the Wallingford Community Gardens.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Sandi Lasso of Durham; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Jim Cooke of Wallingford; and six grandchildren, Jeremy, Jenna and Shannon Cooke, and Ashley, Kourtney and Ryan Lasso.
A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, in the chapel of the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St., Wallingford. Burial will be at In Memoriam Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to MidState VNA and Hospice, 658 Broad St., Meriden, CT 06450.

James T. Maloney
WALLINGFORD — James Thomas Maloney died suddenly Monday, Dec. 7, 1998.
He was a life time member of the Perinton, New York VFW Post 8495.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline VanGrol Maloney; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Debi and a son John and fiancee, Susan Murray; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathleen and William Phipps; two grandchildren, Molly Ann Maloney and Cullen James Phipps; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the John M. Hedges Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd., Rochester, N.Y. A funeral Mass will be held 11:15 a.m. Saturday at St. John's of Rochester in Perinton. Contributions may be made to the Al Sigl Center, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Rochester NY 14620. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Julie P. Romanski
MERIDEN — Julie P. Romanski, 84, of Preston Drive, wife for 61 years to Alexander A. Romanski, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at MidState Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 4, 1914, in Meriden, the daughter of the late Joseph and Eugenia Peczynski. Mrs. Romanski was a graduate of Meriden High School, and had been employed at the Miller Co. and New Departure, Hyatt-Bearing Div. of General Motors. For 20 years she was associated with Lake View House in East Hampton. Mrs. Romanski was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, Meriden. In her retirement years, she took great attention and pride in her yard and garden.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and David Green of Palm Springs, Calif., and Mary and Raymond Davis of Lake Charles, La.; 10 grandchildren, Roberta, Laura, David, Conon, Daniel and Susan Green, and Beth, Susan, Julie and Steven Davis; three great-grandchildren, Alexander and Jacob Singer and Nicole Davis; two sisters, Olga Vodarski of Yalesville, and Dolores Carr of South Pines, N.C.; and two brothers, Stephen Peczynski of Los Angeles, and Joseph Peczynski of Meriden. Mrs. Romanski was predeceased by her brother, Frederick Peczynski, and sister, Linda Reynolds.
In accordance with the wishes of the deceased, funeral arrangements will be private. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date with date and time to be announced. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden.

Rufus H. Taber
BRISTOL — Rufus H. Taber, 74, of 52 Sheila Court, died Monday, Dec. 7, 1998 at Bristol Hospital.
Born July 13, 1924, in New York, he was a son of the late Hershal and Margaret (Tibbets) Taber. He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Alice (Biggins) Taber of Bristol; a son and daughter from a previous marriage, Richard Taber of California and Victoria Taber Santos of Beacon Falls; a brother, Pat Taber of Phoenix; a sister, Liz Taber Sly of Lakeville; a grandson; a brother-in-law, George Biggins; his sisters-in-law, Elaine Moquin, Patricia Barbieri and her husband, Joe, and Kathy Biggins; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Ronald Taber from a previous marriage and Christopher Taber.
The funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main St., Southington, is in charge of arrangements.

Salvatore L. Vecchitto
MERIDEN — Salvatore L. Vecchitto, 79, of 24 Fourth St., died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at the Masonic Geriatric Health Care Center in Wallingford. He was the husband of Elizabeth Manske Vecchitto.
Born in Meriden March 3, 1919, he was a son of the late Anthony and Maria Garafola Vecchitto. He had worked as a supervisor at the Tilcon-Tomasso Co. until his retirement in 1983.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jan Pucci of Wallingford; a son, Wayne Vecchitto of Clearwater, Fla.; two brothers, Michael Vecchitto of Meriden, Anthony Vecchitto of Wallingford; two sisters, Margaret Andreini of Meriden and Marie Schiopucie of Meriden; two grandsons and a granddaughter-in-law, Wayne and Kelly Vecchitto Jr. of Milton, Fla., and Todd Vecchitto of Florida; three granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Danielle Pucci and Michael Boezi of Boston, Toni and Scott Clifton of Cleveland, Tenn., and Paige Clevenger of Milton, Fla.; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Judy Fleming and Helen Clipp and a brother, Joseph Vecchitto.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Ray Cooley will officiate. Burial at Walnut Grove will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Joseph D. Cascio
ISLAND POND, Vt. — Joseph (Joey) D. Cascio, 31, formerly of 70 Summit St., South Meriden, died Dec. 10, 1998, from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Born Sept. 6, 1967, he was the son of Vincent Cascio Sr. and Earl and Mary (Clark) Mousch. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion of Vermont.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a grandmother, Angelina Cascio of Wallingford; three daughters who he loved very much, Amber and Chelsea Cascio of Wallingford and Katyln Cascio of New Hampshire. He also leaves behind three brothers, Harold Cascio of Vermont, Vincent Cascio Jr. of Wallingford and Anthony Cascio of Meriden; two sisters, Lisa DiMauro of Middletown and Nancy Sewell of Meriden; two stepsisters, Amy and Gina Mousch of Meriden; along with several nieces and nephews and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, James Cascio and Harold and Mary Clark.
A memorial service will be held next Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998. Burial will be private. The Szymaszek-Taylor Funeral Home, 189 East Main St., Meriden, is in charge of the arrangement.

Angelina M. DiBiase
WALLINGFORD — Angelina M. DiBiase, 85, of North Colony Street, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
Born in Wallingford, Nov. 3, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Rocco and Maria Cifferella DiBiase and was a lifelong resident. She was employed by the former International Silver Co. of Meriden for many years until her retirement. She was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford and was a member of the Ladies Guild and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Society of the church.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Judith Inguaggiato, Maria Sprouse, Marie Walker, Loretta Arp, June DeBaise and Roger DeBaise, all of Wallingford, Matthew DeBaise and Robert DeBaise, both of Meriden, Anthony DeBaise of Cheshire, Richard DeBaise of Huntington and Marvin DeBaise of South Windsor; many grandnieces and grandnephews, including Sharon Drossopoulos and William Sprouse Jr.; a special great-grandniece, Arianna Drossopoulos and special great-grandnephews, Dimitri Drossopoulos and Trever Sprouse. She was predeceased by a sister, Bessie Inguaggiato; six brothers, Nicholas, Frank, Domonic, Joseph, Anthony and Matthew DeBaise; a niece, Rosemarie DeBaise; and a nephew, Joseph DeBaise Jr.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.

Caroline Escoto
WALLINGFORD — Caroline Brunette Escoto, 87, of McKenna Court, beloved wife of the late Julius Escoto, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at MidState Medical Center.
Mrs. Escoto was born in Ancona, Italy, May 30, 1911, daughter of the late Louis and Annette Francesconi Brunetti, and was a Wallingford resident for the past 80 years. She had been employed by Wallace Silversmiths for many years and by Choate-Rosemary Hall for several years until her retirement, and was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.
She is survived by her beloved family, her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rose and William Dorau and Dolores (Mrs. Richard) Stanton, all of Wallingford, and Carolyn and Al Terzi of Southington; her son and daughter-in-law, Julius and Lynn Escoto of Wallingford; her 10 grandchildren and their spouses, James and Linda Reig, Ann Marie and Mark Schumacher, Richard and Stacy Stanton, Mary Beth and Bruce Blakeley, Daniel and Mary Stanton, John and Terese Escoto, Jason Escoto, Tony and Susan Terzi, Michael and Jennifer Terzi, and Andrea Terzi; her 17 great-grandchildren, Shelby, Christopher, Derek, Amber, Courtney, Samantha, Hayden, Ryan, Shea, Lauren, Riley, Natalie, Matthew, Luke, Alexis, Mickey, and Troy; a sister, Delphina Merlone of Branford; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Walter and Claire Brunetti of Lady Lake, Fla., and Anna (Mrs. Louis) Brunetti of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Matthew Escoto; her son-in-law, Richard Stanton; and her brother, Louis Brunette.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. Gifts in her memory may be sent to Most Holy Trinity Church Preservation Project, 68 North Colony St., Wallingford, CT 06492.

Mary M. Lynch
MERIDEN — Mary M. Lynch, 84, of 172 Carter Ave. Ext., wife of the late Francis H. Lynch, died Dec. 11, 1998, in Coccomo Memorial Health Center after a brief illness.
Born in Meriden, Aug. 2, 1914, daughter of Stephen and Anna Bohac Markel. She had resided in Washington , D.C., for many years before moving back to Meriden about 30 years ago. Mrs. Lynch graduated from St. Joseph School, Meriden High School, class of 1932, Wilcox Technical School and Corcoran Art School, Washington , D.C. She was employed by International Silver Co. as artistic designer and GEICO Insurance in Washington , D.C., in advertising design. Mrs. Lynch was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, a member of Fort Myers Officers Club, Arlington, Va., and Constitution Island Assoc., West Point, N.Y.
Mrs. Lynch is survived by one sister, Anna M. Walsh of East Hampton; two nieces and their husbands, Patricia W. and Paul Cloutier of Port Orange, Fla., and Kathleen W. and Jim Morris of East Hampton, Conn.; three great-nieces, Terri C. Wrinn, Joan C. Bell, and Beth Morris; four great-nephews, Michael Cloutier, Mark K. Morris, John P. Cloutier and John J. Morris III.
Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. 188, 127 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT 06473.

Adelino J. Rodrigues
WALLINGFORD — Adelino J. Rodrigues, 75, of Sunny Acres, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at the Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center in Wallingford. He was the husband of Alice Souza Rodrigues.
Born in New Bedford, Mass, Dec. 9, 1923, he was a son of Antonio J. and Ermelinda Alves Rodrigues and was a Wallingford and Meriden resident for 53 years. Mr. Rodrigues was employed by the former International Silver Co. of Meriden for 32 years until his retirement and was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church in South Meriden, and was a member of the Legion of Mary of the parish. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Wallingford and the Civil Defense of Meriden.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Geraldine R. Tillbrook of Rocky Hill; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger A. and Mary "Buddy" Rodrigues of Meriden; four grandchildren, Melissa Landry, Kim Grous, Allen Tillbrook and Reed Bushey; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Fernando and Arsenio Rodrigues.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Monday morning from 9 to 10 a.m., when the funeral cortege will proceed to Holy Angels Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Donato Russillo
WALLINGFORD — Donato Russillo, 96, of Grantham Road, died Friday, Dec. 11, 1998, at the Brook Hollow Health Care Center in Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Christine D'Angelo Russillo
Born in Picerno, Italy, Sept. 2, 1902, he was a son of the late Nicole and Carmella Cerebasi Russillo and was a Wallingford resident for 80 years. He was employed by the former International Silver Co. of Meriden for many years until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Libero Pensiero Society of Wallingford and was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford.
He is survived by a son, Donald Russillo of Meriden; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerardo and Lucy Russillo of Wallingford and Salvatore and Rosa Russillo of Italy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four sisters.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Thursday morning, from 9 to 10 a.m., when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
