Ronald W. Cheeseman
CHESTER — Ronald W. Cheeseman, 49, of 254 W. Main St., Chester, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Alice (Bischoff) Cheeseman.
He was born May 4, 1949, in Meriden, son of Alice (Lenart) Cheeseman of Meriden and the late Lawrence G. Cheeseman. He owned and operated Dead End Automotive Engineering in Wallingford. He was assistant Scoutmaster for the Chester Boy Scout Troop 13 for the past nine years. He was a member of the Hudson Essex Terra Plane Club for 25 years and a member of the Vintage Chevrolet Club. He graduated in 1974 from Central Connecticut State University.
Besides his wife and his mother, he is survived by a son, William R. Cheeseman of Chester; a daughter, Sara E. Cheeseman, also of Chester; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence G. Cheeseman Jr. and Judie Cheeseman, and Wayne A. and Anna Cheeseman, all of East Hampton; a sister and brother-in-law, Pamela C. and Neil Giovanetti of Melbourne, Fla.; and four nephews.
Funeral procession will leave at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, from the Swan Funeral Home, 211 Main St., Deep River, followed by a funeral liturgy at 8:45 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Chester. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Charles W. Freeman
MERIDEN — Charles W. Freeman, 85, of 113 Westview Drive, husband of Adeline (Dupuis) Freeman, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at MidState Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born April 13, 1913, in Meriden, he was the son of the late William and Sarah (Murphy) Freeman. He attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of Meriden. He was employed for 28 years by New Departure-Hyatt Bearing Div. of General Motors, in both the Meriden and Bristol plants, retiring in 1975. Mr. Freeman was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church and a 4th degree member, a former grand knight and a faithful navigator of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Red Cross instructor for many years and a member of the Franco American Club.
Besides his wife, Adeline, he is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Thomas G. and Christina Freeman of Middletown, Donald J. and Judy Freeman of Napa, Calif., Ronald A. and Carol Freeman of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Charles T. Freeman of Lynnville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Francis Freeman of Meriden; and by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Freeman was predeceased by a sister, Georgia O'Brien, and two brothers, William and Edward Freeman.
The funeral will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, from the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., and at 11 a.m. in St. Laurent Church. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pauline Lawrence
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Pauline Appell Lawrence, of Hollywood, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998.
She was the wife of the late Joseph Lawrence.
She was the mother of Constance Ancheta of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Michelle Wicker of Dania, Fla.; sister of Mary Jackowski of Wallingford, Conn., and Ruth Del Pizzo of Ocala, Fla.; sister-in-law of Marie Messeck of North Haven, Conn., Alda Lawrence of Waterford, Conn., John, Arthur, Dr. Robert and Henry Lawrence, all of Wallingford, Alex Lawrence of Washington , D.C., and Frank Lawrence of Florida. She was predeceased by two sisters, Theresa Stupakevich and Lillian Kelman; three brothers, Edward and Pierre Appell and Charles Hewitt; a sister-in-law, Rose Provasoli; and a brother-in-law, William Lawrence.
Funeral services and interment were in Florida.
Nancy E. McCloskey
NEW HAVEN — Nancy E. (Tombari) McCloskey, 42, of 1579 Chapel St., died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was the wife of Patrick McCloskey.
Born July 6, 1956, in Southington, daughter of Walton J. and Eunice (Wright) Tombari of Southington. She was attending Yale Nursing School. She had been a communicant of St. Thomas Church.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by two daughters, Kelly N. McCloskey of Meriden and Jocelyn I. McCloskey of New Haven; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Maureen Tombari of Southington; two sisters, Cheryl Urso of Cromwell and Diane Tricarico of Southington; her mother-in-law, Irene McCloskey of Southington; her aunts, Esther Lawton of Southington and Louise Munson of Lakewood, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at St. Thomas Church, Bristol Street. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery
in Southington. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, is in charge of arrangements.
Alfred M. Simpson
WEST HAVEN — Alfred M. Simpson, 72, of 79 Kaye Road, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Dorothy Irwin Simpson.
Mr. Simpson was born Nov. 12, 1926, in New Haven, a son of the late Charles Oliver and Jessie Westbrook Simpson. He had been a resident of West Haven for 42 years. He was a lithographic stripper for Allied Color Corp. of Guilford for 15 years and retired in 1989. He was in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1952-53. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of West Haven and a member of the NSSA 15th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry for 15 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Simpson of Wallingford; he was the loving father-in-law of Suzanne Perry Simpson; grandfather of Jessie, Patrick and Annie Simpson, all of Wallingford. He was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy S. Weeks and F. Jeannette Simpson; and three brothers, Kenneth S., Walter L. and Vernon W. Simpson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Beecher & Bennett Seth Taylor Funeral Home, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court Street, West Haven. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
John A. Terribile
MERIDEN — John A. Terribile, 73, of Centennial Avenue, died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, at Westfield Care and Rehabilitation Center, Meriden. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. Boyd Terribile.
Mr. Terribile was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Wallingford, a son of the late Stephen and Grace Terribile, and had been a Meriden resident from 1972 until 1993, when he moved to Largo, Fla., where he had lived for five years, returning to Meriden in March of this year. A retired truck driver, he was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local No. 671 of East Windsor. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion, Siedlicki Post No. 187, the Wallingford Lodge of Elks No. 1365, and the Meriden Police Benevolent Association. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church of Meriden.
Besides his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean P. and Anthony G. Cimabue of Sante Fe, N.M., and Debra A. and Omar Minkara of Prospect; his son and daughter-in-law, Steven A. and Eileen T. Terribile of Meriden; two grandsons, Daniel and Bryan Terribile; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and William Maloney and Margaret and Julius Kondracki, all of Wallingford, and Josephine and Thomas Agro of North Branford; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Lucy Terribile of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Galko; and a brother, Michael Terribile.
His family will receive relatives and friends Monday, Dec. 7, at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, from 9:15 to 10 a.m., when a memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Alon White. Interment will be private in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to MidState VNA and Hospice, 658 Broad St., Meriden, CT 06450.
Joanne Biafore
KILLINGWORTH — Joanne Meyer Biafore, 56, of 16 Livemore Trail, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at New Britain General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ruben Cardona.
She was born Jan. 6, 1942, in New Haven, a daughter of George Meyer of South Meriden and Ruth Downs Meyer of Wallingford.
Besides her parents, she is survived by five daughters, Victoria Wolfe of Plainfield, N.H., Laurie Moore of Meriden, Tammie Laundry of North Hartland, Vt., Tracey Gerace of Wallingford and Elizabeth Cardona of New Britain; three brothers, Richard Hajnal of Litchfield, Thomas Meyer of Durham and James Meyer of South Meriden; two sisters, Linda Michaud of Wallingford and Michelle Winarski of Higganum; and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by a granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John Cemetery

Ted W. Bower
MERIDEN — Ted W. Bower, 57, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at his residence. He was the husband of Carol Bower.
Born March 29, 1941, in Meriden, he was the son of the late Theodore R. and Agnes Deno Bower, and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Meriden and was an elder and member of the chorister choir of the church. He was a founding member of the former Actors Playhouse in Meriden and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Bryan P. Bower of Meriden; a daughter, Jennifer R. Shank of Louisville, Ky.; and several cousins.
His family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at St. John Lutheran Church with the Rev. Carl A. Krueger, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery

George A. Carter
MERIDEN — George Alden Carter, 91, of Douglas Drive, South Meriden, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the husband of Eleanor M. Shepard Carter.
Born in Malden, Mass., he was a son of the late Alfred G. and Christine Johnson Sweet Carter and was a Meriden resident for 76 years. He was employed by the Fafnir Bearing Company of New Britain for over 35 years until his retirement. He was a parishioner of the former Main Street Baptist Church in Meriden for many years and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, A. Ronald and Joyce L. Carter of South Meriden; two grandchildren, Karey L. Carter and Clinton A. Carter; a brother, Frederick M. Carter of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Sweet Dickinson.
His family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Meriden with the Rev. Alon White officiating. Interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery

Eme N. Cunneen
MERIDEN — Eme N. Cunneen, 91, of 360 Broad St., wife of the late Benjamin Cunneen, died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, in the Carolyn Hall of the Miller Memorial Community.
She was born Jan. 25, 1907, in Meriden, a daughter of the late James E. and Emma Bergen Niland. She was a resident of Meriden most of her life. She graduated from St. Joseph Elementary School, Meriden High School, class of 1925, and the Laurel Business College. She had been the secretary to the mayor of the city of Meriden. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church.
She is survived by several cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Niland and Catherine "Reana" Lyons.
All are invited to attend her Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Church. She will be interred with her husband in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St.
Alfred B. Feest Jr.
MERIDEN — Alfred B. Feest Jr., 60, husband of Antonia Ferrigno Feest, of 99 Spruce St., died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, in the MidState Medical Center after a brief stay.
He was born March 29, 1938, in Waterbury, the son of the late Alfred B. Feest Sr. and Maye Speers Feest. He was a graduate of Cheshire High School. He graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacology in 1961. He was associated with Graeber's Pharmacy since 1963. He received his insurance license in 1970 when he joined his father-in-law, the late Joseph Ferrigno, at the Ferrigno Insurance and Travel Agency on West Main Street. He was a resident of Meriden for many years. He was a member of the Waterbury Pharmacology Association. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph Ferrigno Feest of Meriden; a daughter and son-in-law, Monica F. and James N. Moriarty of Ashland, Mass.; a grandson, William J. Moriarty; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Leonard Zwick of Cheshire; his mother-in-law, Irma Ferrigno of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He will be buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery. To best remember Al, his family requests contributions be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, 115 Lewis Ave., Meriden, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
