Frederick E. Allard Jr.

MERIDEN -- Frederick E. Allard Jr., 91, formerly of 76 Prescott St., husband of the late Ethelyn Jacobson Allard, died on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 at the Meriden Center.

Born in Meriden on Nov. 3, 1911, son of the late Frederick and Evelyn (Turcotte) Allard Sr., he had resided in Meriden all his life. He graduated from St. Laurent School and attended Meriden High and State Trade School. Mr. Allard was employed by Lacourciere Co., for 25 years, Butler Paint for 13 years, retiring in 1981. He was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Joan Fulton of Meriden; and also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by five sisters, Edith Woodward, Eveylen McDuff, Florence Hennen, Leona Harrison and Dorothy Fritz; and one brother, Ernest Allard.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial in St. Laurent Church Monday at 10 a.m. There will be no calling hours and the burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden. Contributions in his memory may be made to the St. Laurent School, 121 Camp St., Meriden, CT 06450.

Josephine Altobello

MERIDEN -- Josephine "Sis" Altobello, 89, wife of the late former State Senator and Mayor of Meriden, Henry D. Altobello died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 at MidState Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Meriden on March 12, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary LaMontagne. She had resided in Meriden most of her life except for 17 years in Southwick, Mass., and had attended St. Rose of Lima School and was a graduate of Pequot Business School. She was a parishioner of Holy Angels Parish and a member of the following: Young at Heart, past President of Meriden Women's Club, past President of Mount Carmel School PTA, past President Meriden Council of Catholic Women, Advisor to the Senior Women's Club, Tri-town Golden Kiwanis Club, Friends of Meiden Library. She was also active in the Meriden and Connecticut Democratic party, past President of Meriden Music Association and the past President of the Girls Club Board.

She is survived by four daughters and one son-in-law, Lourde and George Gronback of Meriden, Henrietta Suzio of Meriden, Patricia Altobello of Washington , DC and Suzanne Altobello of Dallas, Texas ; one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel J. and Maureen Altobello of Potomac, Md.; nine grandchildren, Cheryl Suzio, Linda Suzio Munson, Leonardo H. Suzio, Henry "Ric" Suzio, Scott Suzio, Pamela Gronback, Patricia Gronback, Mark Altobello and David Altobello; 14 great-grandchildren; also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson, Steven Suzio; and a son-in-law, Leonardo C. Suzio.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Monday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Church, Main St., South Meriden. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden on Sunday, Feb. 23, from 3 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bradley home, 320 Colony St., Meriden, CT 06451 or Holy Angels Church, 915 Main St., South Meriden, CT 06451 or to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and School, 109 Goodwill Ave., Meriden, CT 06451 or to a charity of ones choice.

Anthony J. Antonucci

WALLINGFORD -- In addition to the survivors mentioned in a previous obituary notice, Anthony J. Antonucci is survived by his wife, Linda Wilson-Antonucci; two stepchildren, Heidi and Ricky, formerly of Wallingford and the family dog Layla.

Barbara J. Bush

CONCORD, Vt. -- Barbara J. (Amerose) Bush, 47, of Concord, Vt., passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002. She was the wife of Mark Bush.

She was born Aug. 4, 1955 in Meriden, the daughter of the late John C. and Christel J. (Galuschka) Amerose. She attended local schools and graduated from Platt High School, class of 1973.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jaime Burnett; two step-children; two sisters, Reda Amerose Gawel of Meriden and Claudia Wolfgang of Essex Junction, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, March 20, at 12 p.m. in St. Joseph Church, Meriden.

Angelo Cirasuolo

HAMDEN -- Angelo Cirasuolo, husband of 68 years to the late Rose Funaro Cirasuolo died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at the Harborside Healthcare Arden House, Hamden, after a short illness.

Mrs. Cirasuolo was born in Ferrara di Cervinara, Province of Avellino, Italy, on July 26, 1906, the son of the late Giuseppe and Maddelena DeSimone Cirasuolo. In 1920, he immigrated to the United States and lived in New Haven for 80 years, 74 of them at 35 Philip St. He worked as a machinist and a stock room foreman at the former Griest Manufacturing Company (Mite Corporation) for 48 years.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Joseph J. Cirasuolo, retired Superintendent of the Wallingford Public Schools and his wife, Sheila of Wallingford; he leaves two grandsons, David Cirasuolo and his wife, Alexandria of New York City and Stephen Cirasuolo of Boston, Mass.; a devoted sister-in-law, Margaret Cataldo of Hamden; a devoted brother-in-law, Nicholas Sorvillo of New Haven; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:15 a.m. from the Torello-Iacobucci Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Aedan Church, New Haven. Entombment will follow in St. Lawrence Garden Mausoleum, West Haven. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Contributions may be made in Mr. Cirasuolo's memory to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.

Frances Hanley

BRISTOL -- Frances (Keegan) Hanley, 88, a former Bristol resident, widow of Dr. Joseph Bainbridge Hanley died Thursday at the Nursing Care Center of Bristol.

Mrs. Hanley was born April 4, 1914 in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Harrigan) Keegan. She was a former resident of Plymouth, Bristol and Farmington. Frances was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, a devout Catholic and wonderful mother of 11 children. She was a graduate from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing with a RN Degree; she was a professional registered nurse who worked with her late husband, Dr. J.B. Hanley to administer to patients needs. An excellent cook and baker of bread she was also a collector of antiques, a traveler, and always had room for one more at her table and her home. She also enjoyed a menagerie of pets, was a voracious reader who loved telling stories of her youth growing up on her parents farm in Todd Hollow.

She leaves two sons, Col. (Ret) Joseph Bainbridge Hanley Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Lee, Mass., and John Peter Hanley and his wife, Antoinette of Terryville; six daughters, Anne Earle and her special friend, Gar Olsen of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Geraldine Hammar of Burlington, Theresa Wessman and her husband, William of Meriden, Katherine Brewster and her husband, Martin of Pennsylvania , Mary Elizabeth Hanley of Wethersfield and Sarah Triano and her husband, Joseph of Plantsville; a former son-in-law, William B. Howarth Sr.; one sister, M. Barry Keegan of Sarasota, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sons, David, Benedict and Christopher Hanley; and a sister, Nancy Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville to the Immaculate Conception church, for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Terryville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the New Century Campaign: The LYCEYM, 21 Maple St., Terryville 06786.

Ruth C. Kubeck

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- Ruth C. Kubeck, 81, of Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Meriden, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003.

Mrs. Kubeck resided in Boynton Beach, Fla., since 1987 coming from Wallingford.

She is survived by her husband, John of Boynton Beach, Fla.; a son, James R. (Donna) Slie Sr. of Wallingford; and three grandchildren, James Jr., Melanie and Christine Slie. She was predeceased by a son, Raymond T. Slie Jr.; and a daughter, Patricia Richards.

Private family services were held. Arrangements by Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, Boynton Beach, Fla.

Justin C. Lillo

WATERBURY -- Justin Christopher Lillo, infant son of Christopher Lillo and Melissa Day of 404-B Waterville St., died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at the John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington.

Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Tyler Lillo; and his paternal grandparents, Karen Goldner-Beckmann and Charles Beckmann of Alpharetta, Ga., and Thomas Lillo of Naugatuck; his paternal great-grandparents, Thomas and Frances Lillo of North Haven and David Goldner of Middletown; and his maternal grandparents, Lenora and Raymond Mielette of Yalesville and Paul and Betty Day of Ansonia; his maternal great-grandmother, Joan Williams of Las Vegas, Nev.

A Mass of the Angels will be celebrated Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church at 8:45 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Dempsey Hospital, University of Conn. Health Center, Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit, 263 Farmington Ave., Farmington, CT 06030. The Alderson Funeral Home, 201 Meadow St., Waterbury is in charge of arrangements.

Katherine M. Olson

MONTAUK, N.Y. -- Katherine "Kay" Mae Olson, 86, of Gull Road, Montauk, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at home. She was the beloved wife of George Harry Olson, they were married June 12, 1938.

She was born Feb. 10, 1917, a daughter of the late John and Margeret Bell Schafer, she was a graduate of Bryant High School, L.I., N.Y. She was a homemaker and was employed as a Sales Associate of Gimbels in New York for 24 years.

She was the loving of mother of Eric Olson of Montauk, N.Y., and Roger (Susan) Olson of Oak Hill, W.Va.; she was also survived by her sister, Dorothy Stoft of Orlando, Fla.; 6 grandchildren, Constance (Peter) Bickford and Karen (Edward) Doukas, all of Wallingford, Christopher (Robin) Olson of Uncasville, Judy (Dean) Dix of Oak Hill W.Va., Wesley (Crystal) Arrington of Beckley, W.Va., and Craig Arrington of Oak Hill, W.Va.; 12 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Leann, Erik Amanda, Alexander, and Zackary of Connecticut and Matthew, Susan, Ashley, Marissa, Kyra and Hailey of West Virginia; and seven nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made in Katherine's memory to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, West Hampton Beach, N.Y. 11978.

Richard R. Raffles

LARGO, Fla. -- Richard R. Raffles, 66, of Largo, Fla., passed away, Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003. He was the husband of Helen (Kaminski) Raffles.

Richard was born Sept. 27, 1936 in Meriden, a son of the late Joseph Sr. and Adel Renkiewicz Raffles, he was employed at International Silver, Meriden and Honeywell in Florida. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Gary (Geraldine) Nosal of Meriden; and many extended family. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph P. Raffles Jr. of Wallingford and Raymond R. Raffles of Oakville.

Services will be held Monday in Florida with burial on Tuesday.
