Ronald D. Konetchy
NEW HAVEN -- Ronald Dean Konetchy of Orange St., New Haven, devoted husband of Andrea Savchik Konetchy, died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002.
Born May 20, 1933 in LaCrosse, Wis., and raised in Rushford, Minn., son of the late Valentine and Delores Konetchy. Following four years of military service, Ron completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Yale University. He had extensive experience as a choral conductor at all levels, and worked with major choral repertories. He conducted national and international concert tours that were noted for creativity, innovation, and cultural exchange. He was Professor of Music at Albertus Magnus College and was a prolific creator and publisher of educational media.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Elaine Malmin of Wisconsin.
Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 5 Hillhouse Ave., New Haven. Edward E. Lagace
MERIDEN -- Edward E. Lagace, 97, of 124 Pomeroy Ave., husband of the late Alfia Mazzotta Lagace, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, peacefully at his home.
Born in Bark River, Mich., on Feb. 21, 1905, the son of the late Joseph Julien and Elizabeth Guilbeault Lagace, he resided in Meriden most of his life. Mr. Lagace was employed by International Silver Factory E of Meriden, retiring 32 years ago. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army, a parishioner of St. Laurent Church, and a member of the American Legion Post 45, Meriden.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Lagace of Meriden; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward and Diana Lagace of Winchester, Va., and Jerry Lagace of Meriden; four grandchildren, Michelle and her husband, Lenny Angelo of Burgettstown, Pa., Edward W. Lagace of Waterbury, Jim Lagace and Danielle Lagace, both of Meriden; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Angelo; two sisters, Margaret Bournival of Goffstown, N.H., and Florence Roehl of Middletown; a brother, Joseph Lagace of South Meriden; many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife of 55 years, he was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Lagace; five sisters, Bernadette Pelligrino, Elizabeth Ammon, Cecile Marchand, Dorothy Marchand and Beatrice Walker; and a brother, G. Albert Lagace.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 9:45 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Laurent Church. Burial with military honors will be in St. Laurent Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
James C. Milazzo
NEW HAVEN -- James C. Milazzo, 94, of Nash St., New Haven, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at the Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of the late Anna T. Curtis Milazzo.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Oct. 12, 1908, he had been a Boston area resident for many years and a Wallingford resident for several years, until moving to New Haven. He was employed by the Boston Navy Yard as a rigger for many years until his retirement and had served an enlistment in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his two daughters, Dorothy Haley of Meriden and Barbara Carnes of Bridgewater, Mass.; and his companion, Marie DiLeo of New Haven, with whom he resided; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial, Friday, Dec. 20, in the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton, Mass., at 1 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford.
Joseph Soucy
WALLINGFORD -- Joseph Soucy, 74, of Middle Lane, Wallingford, beloved husband of Helene E. Moreau Soucy, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
Born in Hamlin, Maine, June 29, 1928, a son of the late Marcel and Mary Rossignol Soucy, he had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He was employed by the Hitchner Manufacturing Company of Wallingford for many years and for the Wallingford Spinning and Stamping Company for 10 years until his retirement.
Besides his wife, Helene, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and Alex Pendolino of Valle Crucis, N.C., and Rhoda Gage of North Carolina; his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice and Henry Gendreau of Bristol and Beatrice and Charlie Turner of Wallingford; his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilfred and Alma Soucy of Fort Kent, Maine, and Roland and Lee Soucy of Wallingford; his sister-in-law, Barbara Soucy of Sanbornton, N.H., his brother-in-law, Aurel Gagnon of VanBuren, Maine; several grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a loving friend and caregiver, Linda Howe. He was predeceased by his sister, Albertine Gagnon; and his brother Louis Soucy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial graveside services Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. John Cemetery

James M. Clark Jr.
CHESHIRE -- James M. Clark Jr., 72, of 876 So. Brooksvale Road, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002 at the Masonic Geriatric Health Center in Wallingford. He was the husband of Priscilla (Shouse) Clark.
Mr. Clark was born Sept. 9, 1930 in Mineola, N.Y., son of the late J. Maitland Clark Sr. and Charlotte (Leschorn) Clark and lived in Cheshire the past 46 years. He graduated from Garden City High School and Norwich University with a degree in history and was honorably discharged as a first lieutenant from the U.S. Army. He retired from SNET as district manager of operator services after 36 years of service. He was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout master in Cheshire for over 20 years and also served on the board of directors of the Waterbury Chapter of the American Red Cross; the board of directors of the Conn. Eye Bank; a volunteer for the Cheshire Public Safety Commission and former treasurer of the Cheshire High School Booster Club; a coach for both the Charles Heath Little League in Cheshire and the Cheshire Midget Football and also served on the Cheshire YMCA board. He was a member of the Waterbury Club; an active member of the Telephone Pioneers; a member of the Cheshire Lutheran Church, serving on the church Council in many leadership capacities. Mr. Clark enjoyed golf and the outdoors. He particularly enjoyed spending time at his home in Wellfleet, Mass. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Besides his wife of 48 years, he leaves four sons, Jeffrey Clark and his wife, Cathy of York, Maine, Eric Clark and his wife, Colleen of Plantsville, Christopher Clark and his wife, Terry of Ballston Spa, N.Y., and Andrew Clark and his wife, Pamela of Cheshire; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of Cheshire, 660 West Main St. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Rosinna S. Coyle
WALLINGFORD -- Rosinna S. Vozzella Coyle, 82, formerly of Bella Vista, Eastern St., New Haven and Wallingford died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002 at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford.
Mrs. Coyle was born in New Haven Aug. 19, 1920, the daughter of the late Chiraco and Lucia Ferraiola Vozzella and was a graduate of St. Mary Hospital School of Nursing in Waterbury. As a Registered Nurse, she had been employed by several area hospitals for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen C. LaRose of East Haven; her three sons, Thomas Coyle and his wife, Emily of New Haven, Dean Coyle and his wife, Colleen of Huntsville, Ala., and Jim Coyle of Hamden; nine grandchildren, including Melaney Rose Coyle, Anne Coyle, Celeste Coyle, Tina Coyle and William Gentile; and three great grandchildren, including Kayla Coyle Notar.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 80 Taylor Avenue, East Haven. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private in St. John Cemetery

Edward Grant
MERIDEN -- Edward C. Grant, 79, of the Bradley Home, formerly of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002. Born May 8, 1923 in Bridgeport, where he lived most of his life before moving to Wallingford.
He is survived by his children, William E. Grant and his wife, Antoinette, Timothy A. Grant, Susan Reméle and Theresa Dibenedetto and her husband, Michael; and 10 grandchildren.

Dominic Renda
SOUTHINGTON -- Dominic Renda, 75, of 49 Huckleberry Lane, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002 at Bradley Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Beverly (Hurlburt) Renda.
Born in Southington on March 24, 1927, the son of the late Nicholas and Felice (Rich) Renda. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. Prior to his retirement Dominic owned and operated the R & R Foundation Co. for many years in Southington. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Club and a parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Louise and her husband, Anthony Cardinale of Plantsville, MaryGrace and her husband, Robert Borchard of Southington; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Nicholas Renda Jr.
A memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Cemetery, 99 Bristol St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N.
