Sr. Mary Anne Ozycz, SSJ-TOSF

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Sr. Mary Anne (Egidia) Ozycz, SSJ-TOSF, died Dec. at Clare Hall Infirmary in Garfield Heights, Ohio.

Sr. Mary Anne is survived by her brothers, Victor, Samuel and Edward Ozycz; her sister, Frances Janeczek; many nieces and nephews; and the sisters of St. Joseph, Third Order of St. Francis with whom she shared her life for 71 years. She was the daughter of Emily (nee Awiza) and Simon Ozycz (both deceased); and the sister of the late Walter Ozycz and Bertha Woronick.

Visitation was held at the Marymount Congregational Home, 12215 Granger Road, Garfield Hts., Ohio, where a wake service was held Thursday, Dec. 5. The funeral Mass was held Friday, Dec. 6, at the Congregational Home followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the SSJ-TOSF Developmental Office, c/o Marymount Congregational Home. Arrangements by Rybicki & son, a Golden Rule Funeral Home.

Frederic A. Pfau

WALLINGFORD -- Frederic A. Pfau, 85, of Robert Lane, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at the Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Doris G. Gengras Pfau.

Born in Rockville, Sept. 8, 1917, a son of the late Albert O. and Gertrude A. Hodge Pfau, he had been a Wallingford resident for 35 years. After graduation from Bay Path College in Springfield, Mass., he served with the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He then joined the staff of the former National Fire Insurance Company of Hartford as an Insurance Underwriter for several years and was then employed by the Herman and Rice Insurance Agency of New Haven for many years, until his retirement. He was a member of the Yalesville-Wallingford Lions Club and was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award in August 2002. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Yalesville.

He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul F. and Mary B. Pfau of Glastonbury, and Peter G. Pfau and Mary E. Pfau of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Kevin F. Pfau of California and Karen B. Mendes and her husband, David Mendes of Simsbury, and Megan M. Pfau of Wallingford; his sister, Gertrude Beyer of Rockville; and several nieces and nephews.

His family will receive relatives and friends in the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main Street, Yalesville section of Wallingford, Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Yalesville Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the VNA Health Care Hospice, Attn: Memorial gifts, 103 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105, or to the Rev. Edwin O'Brien Scholarship Fund, 382 Hope Hill Road, Yalesville, CT 06492.

Alfonso Porriello

SOUTHINGTON -- Alfonso Porriello, 91, formerly of Norton St., in the Milldale section of Southington, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Haven Health Care in Cromwell. He was the husband of the late Mary Davilio Porriello.

Born in St. Valentine, Italy on April 24, 1911, the son of the late Nicolo and Gracia Mortorelli Porriello, Alfonso had been a lifelong Southington resident. In 1946 he opened Al's Farm Market which he operated for over 40 years with his wife and family. Prior to that Mr. Poriello had worked at Peck Stowe and Alsop Engineering. He was a longtime member of St. Aloysius Church.

He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Nicolo and Eleanor Porriello of Colchester, and Alfonso Jr. and Kathleen of Plantsville; his daughter and son-in-law, Anna Marie and John Shea of Cromwell; nine grandchildren, Phillip, John, Mark, Dean, Michelle, Lisa, Ashley, Tieralee and Marlisa and; four great-grandchildren; also his brother, Pat Porriello of Southington; and his sister, Mary Morris of California.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. from Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Donalda M. Allard

WALLINGFORD -- Donalda M. Gamelin Allard, 81, of Jenna Road, formerly of Hope Hill Road, Wallingford, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Omer A. Allard, who died in May of this year.

Born in Manchester, N.H., Aug. 15, 1921, a daughter of the late Henry and Marie Martineau Gamelin, she had been a Wallingford resident for many years. She had been foster mother for the State of Connecticut for 37 years and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Yalesville.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Irene M. and Thomas H. Keithan, with whom she resided; and her two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond G. and Zalita A. Allard, and Robert R. and Kathleen L. Allard, all of Wallingford; her 12 grandchildren, Jamie R. Keithan of Wallingford, Cristen M. Barriera of Meriden, Stephanie L. Keithan of New Haven, Christopher M. Keithan of Wallingford, Donald Allard of Wallingford, Jeffrey LaMoria of Meriden, Mark R. Allard of Wallingford, Craig R. Allard of Clinton, Melissa R. Bilotta of Woodbridge, Robert R. Allard Jr. of Waterbury, Tracy B. Allard of Wallingford and Scott T. Allard of Bennington, Vt.; seven great-grandchildren, Celina M. Keithan, Makayla M. Hanser, Caylee N. Allard, Cameron M. Allard, Peter J. Allard, Joseph F. Allard and Joshua LaMoria; her two sisters, Cecile Morin and Rita Gagnon, both of Manchester, N.H.; her brother, Roger Gamelin of Spartanburg, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Pauline LaMoria; two sisters, Marie Yergeau and Doris Duncan; and a brother, Albert Gamelin.

Her family will receive relative and friends in the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Yalesville Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.

Stephanie A. Carpenter

MERIDEN -- A memorial Mass for Stephanie A. Carpenter, formerly of East Main St., who died Nov. 24, 2002 in Meriden will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church in Meriden.

She was the daughter of Clarence Carpenter and the late Mary Kelly; and the sister of John Carpenter, also of Meriden. Arrangements are under the direction of the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.

Bernice M. DeAntonio

MERIDEN -- Bernice M. DeAntonio, 83, of 360 Broad St., died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at MidState Medical Center.

Born in Meriden on July 28, 1919, the daughter of the late Kazimer L. and Katherine B. (Combs) Garlicki, she resided in Meriden all her life and was educated in Meriden schools. Mrs. DeAntonio was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church and a past president of the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary of Meriden.

She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth L. Bellante; one son, Lawrence W. DeAntonio, both of Meriden; four grandchildren, Vincent Grillo and his wife, Louise, Brenda Lampi and her husband, Arvid, Robin DeFina and her husband, Maurice and Bryan DeAntonio; one great-grandson, Justin Louis DeFina; a niece and a nephew. She was predeceased by a son, William John DeAntonio; two brothers, Edwin R. and Raymond S. Garlicki; and a sister, Claire D. Sarrazin.

The funeral and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden.

Anthony S. DeLilla

SOUTHINGTON -- Anthony S. DeLilla, 72, of 444 Curtiss St., died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 at home. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Wellington) DeLilla.

Born in Waterbury on Oct. 16, 1930, the son of the late Vincent DeLilla and Antoinette (Termine) DeLilla Marino. He was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. He was a parishioner of St. Dominic Church. Prior to his retirement he was co-owner of Cheshire Glass Co.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife, Lisa DeLilla of Waterbury and Matthew DeLilla of Southington; two grandchildren, Brittany and Courtney DeLilla; a brother, Charles Marino of Waterbury; three sisters, Mary Iannacone and Lucille Fusco, both of Waterbury and Ann Nevin of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Mark DeLilla; and two daughters, Nancy and Jo-Antoinette; and two brothers.

The funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Dominic Church at 10 a.m. for a Mass. Burial will military honors will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Josephine Donovan

MERIDEN -- Josephine Palladino Donovan, 92, of Meriden, wife of the late Edward J. Donovan, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002 at Coccomo Memorial Health Care Center after a brief illness.

Born on May 30, 1910, the daughter of the late Vito and Carmella Petruzello Palladino, she had resided in Meriden most of her life. She attended local schools and for many years was a volunteer at Westfield Care and Rehab Center. Mrs. Donovan was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella and St. Joseph's Rosary Society.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews including, Betty Zesk of California, Edward and his wife, Sheila Grimes of Durham, Joyce Morley and Patricia Grimes, both of Meriden, Meredith McGray and her husband, Brian of Wallingford, Carmella Murphy of Cromwell, William and Ethel Belcourt of Durham, Donald and Donna Belcourt of Meriden and Lynette and Sebastian Milardo of Portland; in addition to many great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she dearly loved. She was predeceased by two brothers, Vito and James Palladino; and four sisters, Phyllis Palladino, Madeline Grimes, Antoinette Belcourt and Mary Formica.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 9:45 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to Coccomo Memorial Fund, 33 Cone Ave., Meriden, CT 06450 to enhance the lives of the residents. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Coccomo Memorial for the care and friendship they provided to Aunt Jo.

Rick L. Estridge

WAXHAW, N.C. -- Rick L. Estridge, 44, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002 at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe, N.C.

Born Oct. 22, 1958, in Union County, N.C., he was a son of William Boyce Estridge of Monroe, N.C., and Florence Elizabeth Liles Estridge Gendron of Wallingford. He had been a Wallingford resident for many years.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Annette Paxton Estridge; one son, Jake Estridge; one daughter, Amanda Estridge; stepfather, Richard Gendron of Wallingford; two brothers, Randy Estridge of Monroe, N.C., and Chuck Estridge of Wallingford; three sisters, Patricia Beardsley of Meriden and Darlene Kowalski and Kathy Gritzback, both of Wallingford; a brother-in-law and best friend, Russell Kowalski of Wallingford; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in North Carolina.
