Marjorie N. Toth

WALLINGFORD -- Marjorie N. Toth, 78, of 4 Cedar Street, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at her home. She was the wife of William Toth.

She was born in New Britain, Jan 17, 1924, a daughter of the late Gustave and Lillian Nordgren. Until her retirement, she was the Republican Registrar of Voters for the Town of Wallingford. Mrs. Toth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wallingford and had been very active in church committees. She was also very active in the Republican Party and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Donna C. and her husband Jack Coursey of Meriden; two brothers, Robert Nordgren of Avon and Donald Nordgren of Waterbury; three grandchildren, Kevin Coursey, Robin Bunch and Shannon Rice; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Paige Coursey; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Alan Toth.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 941 Old Rock Hill Rd., Wallingford. Burial will be at In Memoriam Cemetery, Wallingford. Friends may call at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. If friends so desire, gifts in her memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 941 Old Rock Hill Rd., Wallingford, CT 06492, or the American Red Cross Wallingford-Meriden Branch, 144 South Main Street, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Helen K. Cichowski

WALLINGFORD -- Helen Koval Cichowski, 88, of North Cherry St., died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Cichowski.

Born in Warren, Mass., June 9, 1914, a daughter of the late John and Johanna Kuras Koval, she had been a Wallingford resident since 1926. She was employed by the former International Silver Co. for 25 years until her retirement in 1980. She was a parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Church of Wallingford, a member of the Holy Rosary Society and the Ladies Guild of the church, the Meriden Council of Catholic Women, AARP Wallingford Chapter, the Senior Organization of American Retirees and the Wallingford Senior Center.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria L. and Albert P. Creto, her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph W. Cichowski, Sr. and his wife, JoAnne, all of Wallingford; her seven grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher Cichowski of South Meriden, LeighAnn and James Cei, Cheri and Ed Smeriglio, all of Yalesville, Gregory and Mary Cichowski of Wallingford, Joseph W. Cichowski Jr. and Janet of Milford, Albert N. and Cassandra V. Creto of Nashua, N.H. and Cassandra L. and Michael Matteo of Cromwell; her 10 great-grandchildren, Amber, Marissa and Steven Cichowski, Brittany and Ashley Cei, Jacklyn and Jessica Smeriglio and Erica and Michael Matteo and Nicole Cichowski; her two sisters, Anne Rogers and Wanda Swantek, both of Wallingford; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sister, Mary Uliasz, Elizabeth Jennings, Paula Galko and Laura Koval.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to SS. Peter and Paul R.C. Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. Mass cards will be appreciated by the family.

Lydia A. Giacomini

WALLINGFORD -- Lydia A. Giacomini, 77, of 941 Durham Road, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 in St. Raphael's Hospital.

Born in New Haven June 25, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Marone Giacomini. Ms. Giacomini at the time of her death was a waitress having been employed by the Neptune & Twin Pines Diners and more recently with the Athena II Diner in North Haven.

She is survived by a loving son, John P. DiBianco and his wife, Angela, with whom she resided; and five beloved grandchildren, John J., Xylia, Danielle, Arianna and Giovanni DiBianco.

Funeral from the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Road, (Rte 80), East Haven Thursday at 8:45 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:30 a.m. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Memphis, Tenn 38105.

Diana Walter

WALLINGFORD -- Diana Pierson Walter, 44, of South Elm St., Wallingford, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 in the MidState Medical Center in Meriden. She was the wife of Peter D. Walter.

Born in New London, March 17, 1958, a daughter of Carol Chadwick Pierson of Old Lyme and Henry Pierson of Meriden, she was a Wallingford resident for many years. She was a graduate of Lyme-Old Lyme High School and the University of Connecticut . She received her Master's Degree from St. Joseph College in West Hartford. She had been employed as a supervisor for the State of Connecticut Department of Children and Families for the past 22 years. She was an active member and served on various committees of the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, and had been a Girl Scout Leader. She was an avid sports enthusiast and avid supporter of Sheehan High School Athletics.

Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by her two daughters, Caroline A. Walter and Emily M. Walter, both of Wallingford; her two sisters, Lorrie A. King of Lyme and Suzanne M. Pierson of Old Lyme; her brother, Henry C. Pierson IV, of Willimantic; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Diana's life will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in Diana's memory may be sent to the Scholarship Fund of the First Congregational Church, 23 South Main St., Wallingford, CT 06492.

Melba Blouin

MERIDEN -- Melba McKenney Blouin, 90, formerly of 65 Briarwood Drive, Meriden and Deltona, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at Coccomo Memorial. She was the widow of Paul E. Blouin, who was born in Gardner, Mass.

She was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine, June 6, 1912, a daughter of Thomas and Emeline Mulherin McKenney. She was a longtime member of the Wallingford Country Club and the Deltona Country Club. She attended St. Rose Church.

She is survived by her sons, Roger P. Blouin and Ronald J. Blouin, both of Wallingford; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Marie Ohman of Tupper Lake, N.Y.; and a brother, Donald McKenney of Miami, Fla.

There will be no calling hours. She will be buried in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, Mass., with a graveside service at the family's convenience.

Amelia DeLeo

NORTHFORD -- Amelia Barbitta DeLeo, 64, of 30 Youngs Apple Orchard Road, Northford died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at her home. She was the wife of Rosario F. DeLeo.

She was the mother of Salvatore F. DeLeo of Manchester and Michael V. DeLeo of Londonderry, N.H.; grandmother of Randi and William DeLeo; sister of Marie Beltran of West Babalon, L.I., N.Y., Vincent Barbetta and Ralph Barbetta, both of Meriden.

Private funeral services from the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the CT Hospice, 110 Barnes Road, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Lulu E. Dyer

WINDHAM, Maine -- Lulu Emma Dyer, 80, of River Road, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002 at the Maine Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Clinton Dyer, who died in 1995.

She was born in Caribou, Maine on March 20, 1922, a daughter of Simon and Grace Little Anderson. She attended Caribou schools and later moved to southern Maine. She enjoyed playing cards, going out to eat, shopping, and being with her family.

Mrs. Dyer is survived by her sons, Linwood Dyer of Hollis, Maine, Arnold Dyer and his wife, Tena of Connecticut and Ronald and his wife, Joelene of Windham, Maine; a daughter, Sandra Vickerson of Windham, Maine; six brothers, Earl, Chester, Gilbert, Elbridge, Ernest and Merrill Anderson; four sisters, Betty Tibbetts, Gertrude York, Zelda Wilcox and Ethel Nutting; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, Rte. 202 and 4A in Buxton, Maine. A funeral service will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the spring at South Buxton Cemetery.

Marion W. Erdman

MERIDEN -- Marion W. Erdman, 81, formerly of 80 Hanover St., died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002 at Masonic Geriatric Healthcare Center in Wallingford.

Born in New York City, N.Y., on June 19, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Mabel Hooth Williamson. She had been employed at Corometrics and was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a son, Bruce Von Lunn of Littleton, Colo. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Williamson.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Walnut Grove Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The Rev. Eric Henderson will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.

Olga Rosa

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Olga Diaz Rosa, 59, wife of the late Francisco Rosa, died on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002 at Terrance Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Born in Manati, Puerto Rico on June 1, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Inez (Robalo) and Jovita (Padilla) Diaz. Mrs. Rosa had resided in New York most of her life.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Cruz of New York, N.Y.; a son, William Benitez of Stafford, Va.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Natalie Diaz and Milagros Muniz, both of Meriden; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 12 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden with the Rev. Carmelo Torres officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Wednesday .
