Olive Snow
SOUTHINGTON -- Olive Bell Snow, 97, of Stanley St., New Britain, formerly of Southington, died Monday, July 1, 2002 at New Britain General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Francis Snow.
Born in Southington, May 30, 1905, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Height Bell, she had been a longtime Southington resident before moving to New Britain five years ago. Mrs. Snow was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Southington, a member of the Southington Grange, the Calendar House and the Southington YMCA Seniors.
She is survived by three daughters, Gloria Spain of Farmington, Vivian Smith and her husband, Ralph of New Britain and Judy Zeil of Meriden; one sister, Vera Caparelli of Plainville; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Bell of Meriden and Helen Bell of Southington; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Leman, Joseph and Edward Bell; and four sisters, Daisy Reinhard, Dorothy Smedberg, Sadie Zantow and Edna Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6, at 2 p.m. at the Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 South Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery. Calling hours are on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Snow's memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 581 Meriden Ave., Southington, CT 06489.
Charles Catuccio
MERIDEN -- Charles Catuccio, 62, of 491 West Main St., died Monday, July 1, 2002 at the MidState Medical Center. He was the husband of Joyce St. Laurent Catuccio.
He was born in Waterbury on May 19, 1940, son of the late Carl and Josephine Fulton Catuccio. He had worked for 20 years for a Food Brokerage Firm in Massachusetts, before working at Creative Treasurers.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Desiree Joyce Catuccio of Meriden; a brother, Patrick Catuccio of Waterbury; five sisters, Carolyn Porter of North Haven, Delores Catuccio and Geraldine Catuccio of Waterbury, Corine Sottosanti of Prospect and Bernadett Catuccio of Windsor; a step-mother, Anna Catuccio; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 5, at 7 p.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mary A. Roback
SOUTHINGTON -- Mary A. (DePaulo) Roback, 84, formerly of 211 Carter lane died Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Aloysius Andrew Roback.
Born in Southington on May 13, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Theresa (DeFeo) DePaulo. She retired from Lori Lock Corp. of Southington and was a member of St. Thomas Church.
She is survived by her daughters, MaryAnn Roback of Bristol and Elaine Graham of Southington; her sisters, Rose Nolan Kyle of Southington and Florida, Louise Wheeler and Anna Abate, both of Southington and Theresa Nicholas Munger of Bristol; she is also survived by her grandchildren, David Roback and Donna and Brenda Graham, along with great-grandchildren, Matthew and Tristan Graham and Kevin Stamm; godchild, Maria Nicholas Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Pasquale, Ralph, Stephen and Dominic DePaulo.
Services will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St., Southington.
Paul F. Tino
MERIDEN -- Paul F. Tino, 93, of New Hanover Ave., passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 to be with the Lord and his predeceased wife and family.
Born on Jan. 2, 1909 in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of the late Richard and Frances Tino, Paul graduated from high school in 1926 and then attended Laurel Business College. Paul was proud to have been a veteran of the CT National Guard, Company "D" 169th Infantry. He was employed by John Hancock Life Insurance Company for 50 years. He also owned and operated locally Tino S Insurance and Real Estate for some 50 years. In addition he was a member of Local 371 and rose to President of CT State Council of the United Food and Commercial International Union, Insurance and Finance Division, where he served for 36 years. Paul was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus and a life member of Lodge 35, Meriden Elks. He is recognized in the book, "Who's Who" among Americans of Italian descent in Connecticut. He was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church in South Meriden.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Winslow Varney and her husband, Coleman Varney of Meriden; a granddaughter, Susan Steele and her husband, Greg Steele of Bath, N.H.; a grandson, Jody Winslow and his wife, Patricia Winslow of Meriden; two great-grandchildren, Brittney Marie Winslow and his namesake, Eric Paul Winslow, both of Meriden. He was loved very much and will be sorely missed.
The funeral will be held Saturday, July 6, at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden and at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Church, South Meriden. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul's memory can be made to Holy Angels Church, 915 Main St., S. Meriden, 06451. Eugene J. Clemente
WALLINGFORD -- Eugene J. Clemente, 35, of Crestview Terrace, Wallingford, died unexpectedly Friday, July 5, 2002, at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
Born Feb. 25, 1967, in New Haven, he was a son of Eugene N. and Joan Vadaszi Clemente of Wallingford, with whom he resided. He had been employed by the Production Equipment Company of Meriden for the past two years and previously at Infra-Metals in Wallingford for several years. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in the Yalesville section of Wallingford, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Wallingford.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his beloved children, his daughter, Margaret K. Clemente, and his son, Eugene J. Clemente Jr., both of Wallingford; his brother, Paul J. Clemente of Loganville, GA; and two nephews, Paul J. Clemente and Kyle A. Clemente.
His family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 8, in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery

Jennie Danko
KENSINGTON -- Jennie Pac Danko, 89, of Kensington, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2002 at New Britain General Hospital. She was the widow of John J. Danko.
Jennie was born May 14, 1913 in New Britain. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Plocharczyk) Pac. She was a lifelong Kensington resident. Jennie had worked at Stanley Tools in New Britain before retiring in 1974. She was also a member of St. Paul's Church.
Jennie is survived by two sons, Richard Danko and his wife, Sandy of Southington and Kenneth Danko and his girlfriend, Diane Howard of Kensington; a sister, Sophie Pac of New Britain; three brothers and their spouses, John and Anna Pac and Stanley and Lorraine Pac, all of Kensington and Walter and Mary Jo Pac of Texas ; she also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Cheryl Kaminsky, John Danko, Richard Danko Jr., Jeffrey Danko, David Danko, Christian Danko and Mark Danko, and their spouses; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, John, she was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Hart, Helen Habershon and Rose Pac; and two brothers, Joseph Pac and Peter Pac.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Paul's Church in Kensington at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 8. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery
in New Britain. Calling hours will be before the Mass at Erickson and Hansen Funeral Home in New Britain from 10 to 11 a.m. Plantsville Memorial Funeral Home, 975 South Main St., Plantsville has charge of arrangements. Irving Kenny
SOUTHINGTON -- Irving Kenny, 80, of Southington, died Wednesday July 3, 2002, at Bel-Air Manor in Newington. He was the beloved husband for 55 years of Helen (Kazersky) Kenny.
Born on July 28, 1921, the son of the late James and Eva (Salva) Kenny. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving under General Patton in the Battle of the Bulge with the 11th Army Division. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed by Insilco in Meriden. Mr. Kenny was a life member of the VFW and the American Legion Kiltonic Post No. 72, a member of the Elks Club, Lions Club and the Russian Seniors Club of Meriden. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and had worked as sexton at the church for 40 years. He had many friends in the community and his church, and spent many hours for charity.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Mowchan Jr. of Newington; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Karen Kenny of Southington; four grandchildren, Kelly and Daniel Mowchan, Andrew and Kyle Kenny; a brother-in-law, Walter and his wife Jane Kazersky of Yalesville; sisters-in-law, Sophie Hull of Yalesville, Mary Bilodeau of Meriden and Bonnie Botteon, who has always been an extended member of the Kenny Family; also several nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Phyliss Perillo of Southington. He was predeceased in 1974 by a brother, Francis Kenny, and a brother-in-law, Alexander Kazersky.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2002, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 145 Main St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. has charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 145 Main St. Southington, CT 06489. Joshua R. Poirier
MARLBOROUGH -- Joshua R. Poirier, 19, of 77 South Road, son of Pamela Butterfield of Marlborough and Mark J. Poirier of Hebron, died Thursday, July 4, 2002, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Jan. 21, 1983, in Meriden, he had resided in Marlborough the last 10 years and attended RHAM High School. Joshua had been a snare drummer with the Marlborough Junior Ancient Fife and Drum Corp.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his maternal great-grandmother, Betty Butterfield of Meriden; maternal grandmother, Donna Butterfield of Meriden; paternal grandparents, Marcel and Helen Poirier of Meriden; aunts and uncles, Lori and David Barillaro, Michael and Cindy Butterfield, Robert Jr. and Eileen Butterfield, Claude Poirier, Dennis Poirier, Peter and Camie Poirier, and Steve and Arlene Trella; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Robert Butterfield.
The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 10 a.m. at St. Laurent Church, Meriden. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 8, at the funeral home. Robert Tallberg
MIDDLETOWN -- Robert T. Tallberg Sr., 73, of Berkley Road, Middletown, formerly of West Haven, died Friday, July 5, 2002, at the Middlesex Hospital.
He was born in New Haven, son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Burke) Tallberg. A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Southern New England Telephone Co. He was a past member of the Hamden Elks.
He leaves six children, Lynn Fuschino and her husband, Frank, of Meriden, Karen Moore and her husband, David, of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Robert Tallberg Jr. and his spouse, Lynne, of Rockport, ME, Joan Hetuin and her fiance, Mike, of Lincolnville Center, ME, Paul Tallberg and fiance, Lynn, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Atty. James Tallberg and his spouse, Jill, of Rocky Hill; 10 grandchildren, Lynn Ann, Eric, Jeff, Megan, Derak, Kirk, Josh, Kylah, Zeke and Molly; three great-granddaughters, Alex, Storm and Madison; his loving companion, Harriot Estelle and her children, Allan Estelle and Joan Nichols; his former wife and mother of his children, Caroline (Brockett) Tallberg.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. There are no calling hours. The Biega Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
