Gladys H. Burr

Gladys H. Burr, 78 of Seffner, Florida; formerly of New Milford, passed away on May 19, 2004 at Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, Florida.
Gladys was born April 19, 1926 in Hartford, the daughter of Raymond and Hazel (Parker) Holloway. She graduated from Canton High School in Canton, in 1944. She later worked at the Avon Town Hall as secretary to the Selectman and the Zoning Board and became the Assistant Town Clerk and the first policewoman of Avon.
Gladys was a talented piano and organ player, and became the Junior Choir leader and a member of the Senior Choir of the Avon Congregational Church. She was very active in the Grange and held several different offices in the Avon and New Milford areas. Gladys worked at Ruwet Sibley as a secretary and parts person and was the office manager at SCA services of New Milford. On January 15,1983 she married Merwin Burr in Brookfield,. She later retired from Demitron Research in 1990 and they moved to Florida.
She is survived by her husband Merwin; a daughter: Marion Bradshaw of Tampa, Florida; a son: Charles Larson, Jr. of New Milford; a daughter: Susan Hansen of Poultney, Vermont; four step-children; two sisters: Marion Schlosser of Otis, Massachusetts; and Elizabeth Damiani of Harwinton; a sister-in-law: Joyce Holloway of Warren; nineteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers: Charles and Frank Holloway and one sister Ruth Kendall.
A memorial service will be held at the Newbury Church, Brookfield Connecticut on Saturday, June 26, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be sent to the Arthritis Foundation, 35 Cold Spring Road, Suite 411, Rocky Hill, CT 06067
Elizabeth (Petro) Medvecky

Elizabeth (Petro) Medvecky, 94, of North Canaan, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2004.
Called "Betty" by her friends, Elizabeth was the second of five children born to George and Elizabeth Petro in Ansonia, Connecticut on February 3, 1910. She was educated in the public schools of Ansonia and resided there before moving to Bridgeport after her marriage to Stephen Medvecky on May 10, 1930. She lived most of her early life in Stratford and later Easton and was then employed by the General Electric Company. After retiring from the General Electric, in 1965, she continued to reside in Easton until 1968 when she moved to Huntington. In 1976, she moved to Cape Coral, Florida where she resided until returning to Connecticut in 2001. At the time of her death, she was a resident of the Geer Village in North Canaan.
She is survived by her sister: Mary Wheatley of Mashpee, MA; her sons: Robert of Fort Myers, FL; and Thomas of Taconic; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family.
Michael Warren Fuller

Michael Warren Fuller, son of Arthur Fuller and Tom and Kerry Sheridan, died Monday June 21 at Millbrook School, Millbrook, New York. He had been the associate director of admission and the head boys varsity lacrosse coach for the past four years at the school. He was 41.
Mike was a 1981 graduate of Wilton High School and received his Masters in Education from the University of Southern Maine in 1997. Before arriving at Millbrook School, he had been dean of students, head lacrosse coach and sociology teacher at Bridgton Academy in North Bridgton, Maine.
In addition to his parents, "Coach" Fuller is survived by his wife, Gina, their children: Zachary and Madeline; his brothers and sister: Arthur, Paul and Elizabeth; his two half siblings: Lauren and Chris; his uncle and aunt: Lattimer and Mary Warren and 18 nieces and nephews. Mike Fuller was an excellent and loving father, teacher and coach, and a wonderful person. He will always live on in the hearts of everyone he touched throughout his life.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 24 at the Bouton Funeral Home (203-544-8461) in Georgetown, Connecticut. In addition, a celebration of Mike's life will be held at the Flagler Memorial Chapel on the Millbrook School (845) 677-8261, ext. 130) campus, Millbrook, N.Y. on Friday, June 25 at 1 p.m.
Helen Ann Medley Stoll

Helen Ann Medley Stoll age 60, of 32 Sail Harbor Dr., New Fairfield, died Saturday June 19 at Danbury Hospital.
She was a native of Springfield, KY and was a partner with her husband Dr. Raymond E. Stoll in Stoll & Associates, LLC. Dr. Stoll is a Scientist of Toxicology with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Other survivors include her son: Scott Stoll of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two daughters: Lisa Stoll of Newington; and Laura Stoll of New Fairfield; four brothers: and five sisters, all of KY.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. EST Thursday at St. Rose Catholic Church in Springfield, KY. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. EST Wednesday at Hale-Palin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield, KY.
Virginia (Ginny) R. Boucher

Virginia (Ginny) R. Boucher 54, of North Conway, NH, wife of Jeffrey E. Boucher died June 10 at her home following a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Danbury, March 6, 1950, daughter of Gordon Edward and Eleanor (Wells) Hills of New Milford.
Growing up in New Milford she graduated from New Milford High School in 1968 and the Americo School of Cosmetology Danbury in 1970. She worked as a hair dresser in CT and NH for several years. She also worked at K-Mart and Glass Graphics in North Conway until her illness forced her to leave.
Ginny has been involved in the Conway community with Cub Scout Pack # 149 where she was assistant scoutmaster and den mother for several years. She had been active in the Conway Elks Little League Program.
Ginny will be well remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
On June 5, 2004 Ginny and Jeff celebrated their 34th anniversary.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by two sons: Adam T. Boucher of Fort Drum, N.Y.; Eric J. Boucher and his wife Tammy of Somersworth, NH; two grandchildren: Michelah S. and Zacheria B. Boucher one sister: Patricia H. Shields and her husband Peter of Gaylordsville; one brother: Ronald E. Hills and his wife Marianne of Goshen; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by a son, Brian L. Boucher in 1984.
A memorial service will be held at Gaylordsville United Methodist Church, Route 7, Gaylordsville, at 10 a.m., Saturday June 26, 2004.

Marilyn (Ferry) Lebwohl, LPN

Marilyn (Ferry) Lebwohl, LPN., age 59, of the town of Brewster, N.Y., died Sunday June 20th, at her residence. She was the wife of Paul Lebwohl M.D.
She was born in Danbury, January 25, 1945 daughter of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth ( Kellogg) Clarke.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters Ellen Bennetti of Bethel; and Elizabeth Glahn of Danbury; her sons: Mark and James Ferry both of Danbury; her grandchildren: Jenna and Thomas Bennetti of Bethel; Ashley Brusca and Daniel Ferry of Danbury; her sisters: Barbara Webb of New Milford; and Sandra Fans of Brookfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main St., Danbury, Thursday morning at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Green Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Concetta Lillis, 94, mother of six residents
Concetta “Carrie” (DeSanty) Lillis, 94, formerly of 80 Lillis Road, New Milford, died Sept. 18, 2000 at The Kent, Specialty Care Facility in Kent. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Lillis Jr.
Mrs. Lillis was born in Bridgeport Aug. 12, 1906, a daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (Pilgoste) DeSanty.
She had been employed for a number of years in the housekeeping department at New Milford Hospital, retiring in 1972.
Mrs. Lillis is survived by five sons, all of New Milford, Patrick R., Thomas J. III, Samuel F., Capt. Norbert B. Lillis of the New Milford Police Department, and David C.; a daughter, Maryann L. Cameron of New Milford; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Genivie Espisito of Milford, Margaret Piandosti and Vivian DeSanty, both of Bridgeport; an aunt, Sue Pilgoste Broderick of Bridgeport.
She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Therese Cameron and Thomas J. Lillis IV; two sisters, Marie Skipper and Ethel Pinto; and three brothers, Samuel Francis, Frank and Harold.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.

Ethel Gollsneider, 82, was a native of New Preston
Ethel Annabel Gollsneider, 82, formerly of Mygatt Road, New Preston, died Sept. 12, 2000 at the home of her daughter, June Barnhart, in Saugerties, N.Y. She was the widow of William Gollsneider.
Mrs. Gollsneider was born July 4, 1918, in New Preston, daughter of the late Waldemar and Lena (Cogswell) Swanson.
She lived in New Preston her entire life and was a direct descendant of Edward Cogswell, one of the founders of New Preston.
Mrs. Gollsneider attended the red, two-story elementary school in New Preston and the old Washington High School.
She was an avid gardener and had a special fondness for birds. Her recipes often appeared in local publications and in May of 1976 she won The News-Times recipe of the month award, resulting in a full-page article on her and her culinary talents.
Mrs. Gollsneider is survived by two sons, Dennis of Kila, Mont., and Glenn of Greenville, Maine; two daughters, Joyce Bachor of Boiceville, N.Y., and Mrs. Barnhart; four brothers, Roger, Allyn and Eugene Swanson of New Preston and Eric Swanson of New Milford; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
A graveside service will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 1 p.m. at Underwood Memorial Cemetery, Mygatt Road, New Preston.

Vera Louise Smith, 79, spent summers in area
Vera Louise Smith, 79, died in Tucson, Ariz., Sept. 16, 2000 after a short illness.
Mrs. Smith was born in New York July 25, l921, the daughter of the late Theobald and Louise Englehardt.
She spent her childhood in Forest Hills, N.Y., and was a graduate of Wheaton College.
Upon her marriage to Bernard A. Smith III, she resided in Boston during World War II.
Later, the family moved to Long Island and spent summers at Candlewood Lake Club in New Milford.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith also lived briefly in Pound Ridge, N.Y., prior to Mr. Smith’s retirement.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Smith were avid golfers, and Mrs. Smith played competitively until just a few years ago, both in Connecticut and Arizona.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith were also active in the Multiple Sclerosis chapter in Tucson, a tradition which she continued after his death in 1980. She was a member of Christ the King Episcopal Church in Tucson.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a brother, Theobald Henry Englehardt Jr. of St. Augustine Beach, Fla.; two sons, Bernard A. Smith IV of Sherman and Todd Russell Smith of New Milford; four grandchildren, Russell F. Smith of Cumming, Ga., and Brendan A. Smith, Todd Russell Smith Jr. and Courtney G. Smith, all of Sherman.
Adair Funeral Home, 8090 Northern Avenue, Tucson, is in charge of the arrangements.
A memorial service will take place in Tucson next month, and a memorial service for family and Mrs. Smith’s close friends will take place Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. at 1 Chimney Point Road, New Milford.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the American Heart Association.
Leonard T. Lehmann, 71, father of Sherman man
Leonard T. Lehmann, 71, of 45 Aunt Hack Road, Danbury, died Sept. 12, 2000 at his home after a short illness. He was the husband of Susanne (Weich) Lehmann.
Mr. Lehmann was born in Jaite, Ohio, April 29, 1929, a son of the late Theodore and Mary (Rengle) Lehmann.
He attended school in Ohio. After serving in the Army during the Korean War, he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Baldwin-Wallace University in Ohio and did post-graduate work at the University of Cincinnati and the University of Delaware.
As an engineer and technical specialist, he performed carpet fiber research and worked to develop new fiber applications. He worked on new manufacturing processes for various fabrics.
At Davis & Geck, a division of American Cyanamid, he supervised a research and development group working on bio-absorbable sutures and other medical products. He retired in 1992.
His interests included gardening, finance, reading and family activities.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Krag of Sherman; a daughter, Karen Doherty of New Fairfield; and two sisters, Betty Cooper of Peninsula, Ohio, and Beverly Parker of Jasper, Ala.

Katherine Leaman, 95, mother of Roxbury woman
Katherine Caroline (Scott) Leaman, 95, formerly of South Meriden Road, Cheshire, died Sept. 12, 2000 at the Middlebury Convalescent Home. She was the widow of George Edward Leaman.
Mrs. Leaman was born June 17, 1905, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Edward M. and Anna Elizabeth (Ball) Scott. She lived in Cheshire for many years and in Middlebury since 1991.
She was a member of Cheshire Senior Citizens and attended the Congregational Church of Cheshire.
Mrs. Leaman is survived by a son, George of Dunnellon, Fla.; two daughters, Lois Gensler of Roxbury and Joyce Gensler of Middlebury; a sister, Mary Smith of Cheshire; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
