Winifred Clavet
WALLINGFORD -- Winifred Cyr Clavet, 71, of Old Colony Road, Tracy section of Wallingford, died Thursday, April 25, 2002 in the Main Medical Center in Portland. She was the wife of Thaddee Clavet.
A complete obituary will appear in the Saturday edition of the Meriden Record-Journal. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford.
William H. Frey
MERIDEN -- William H. Frey Jr., 64, of 60 Hanover St., died Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at his residence.
He was born in Hartford on Jan. 16, 1938, the son of the late William H. and Dorris Meeker Frey Sr. He was self-employed in the advertising business, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had been a member of the U.S. Air Force Band.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William H. and Shawna Frey III of Washington D.C.; a grandson, Krezian Frey also of Washington D.C.; a sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Robert Panciera of Meriden; three nieces and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, CT.
Thomas F. Hulett
WALLINGFORD -- Thomas F. Hulett, 71, of Ridgeland Road, Wallingford, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie Kennedy Hulett.
Born in North Haven, June 20, 1930, a son of the late Gilbert and Elizabeth McCallum Hulett, he was a Wallingford resident for many years. He was the proprietor of Tom's Seamless Gutters in Wallingford, for 23 years and also had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Tilcon Co. Mr. Hulett was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Budleski Post of Yalesville. He was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed fishing and crabbing in the salt waters of Misquamicut.
Besides his wife, Marjorie, Mr. Hulett is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth Hulett and her fiancee, Glenn Packard of Wallingford and Faye and Edward Ralph of Plantation, Fla.; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Hulett II and Cheryl Hulett of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Richard Hulett, Melanie Hulett of Wallingford and Kristen Ralph; his brother, Gilbert Hulett of North Haven; and several nieces and nephews.
His family will receive relatives and friends in the Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville Friday from 5 to 7:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Interment will be private. Gifts in his memory can be sent to the Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
Edith A. Musto
SOUTHINGTON -- Edith A. Musto, 53, of 287 Bristol St., died Wednesday, April 24, 2002.
Born in Southington, the daughter of the late Anthony and Edith (D'Angelo) Musto. She was employed by Micro Tech in Cheshire.
She is survived by a son, John W. Musto of Southington; a sister, Linda M. Killiany of Southington; three brothers, Anthony "Butch" Musto and Frank Musto, both of Southington and Paul Musto of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2002 at 7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Calling hours will be on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m.
Donald P. Paradis
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Donald P. Paradis, 42, formerly of Meriden, died Saturday, April 20, 2002 in Florida.
He leaves brothers and sisters, David Paradis of Ansonia, Robert Paradis of Ft. Myers, Fla., Joan Anderson of Meriden, Sharon Pais of Waterbury and Tammy Paradis of Meriden.
A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Meriden on May 5, at 2:30 p.m.
Philip J. Piontek
WALLINGFORD -- Philip J. Piontek, 92, of 26 Hintz Drive, Wallingford also of Chatham, Mass., passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2002. He was the husband of the late Helen Tkaczuk.
He was the father of Maria Cannon of Manchester Center, Vt., Philippa DeGrand of North Haven and Helena Larese of Wallingford; brother of Henry Piontek, Ann Kannoff and the late Amanda Coughlin, Martha Cook, Gertrude Palmer and Mary Piontek; also survived by eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral will take place Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home of J. Markiewicz and Sons, 14 Trumbull St., New Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Church, New Haven.
Margaret R. Church
MERIDEN -- Margaret R. Church, 83, of Hanover St., Meriden, wife of the late James F. Church passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2002.
She was born June 3, 1918 in Torrington, a daughter of the late Leonard and Angelena (Martinalli) Corbo.
Margaret is survived by a son, John and (Carolyn) Bernardo of Meriden; two daughters, Jo-Ann and (Vincent) Shatas of Meriden, Cathy David and her companion, Sal; and a daughter-in-law, Pam Bernardo; she also leaves three sisters, Lucy and (Frank) Janekowski, Susy Lopez and Catherine Fabrie, all of Torrington; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, William Bernardo; and two brothers, Kelly and William Corbo.
Relatives and friends may call the Szymaszek-Taylor Funeral Home, 189 E. Main St., Meriden on Sunday, April 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be on Tuesday, April 30, at 9 a.m. at New St. Francis Cemetery, 863 S. Main St., Torrington, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association Donation Processing, 2550 Rte. 1, North Brunswick, N.J. 08902.

Born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, Feb. 11, 1931, a daughter of the late Louis and Anna Bosse she was a Wallingford resident for 46 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and William Gagne of Wallingford, Lise and Armand Couture of Meriden and Ann Clavet of Wallingford; her grandchildren, Shanelle King, Ryan Gagne, Nicholas Couture and Danielle Couture; her two great-grandchildren, Alexia Jandreau and Katelynn Couture; her two sisters, Annette Dube of Lawrence, Mass., and Raymonde Landry of St. Francis, New Brunswick, Canada; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joyce M. Clavet; and her son, Chanel Clavet.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden, will be private.
Darlene J. Ranno
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Darlene J. Ranno, 48, of Hollywood, Fla., formerly of Meriden, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2002 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She passed away with her mother, son, dear friend and sisters at her side.
She was a graduate of Platt High School, Albertus Magnus, Yale University and the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England. She was a black belt in Karate and was working for the Academy of Dance as a theatrical teach and performer.
She is survived by her mother, Mary (Grady) Ranno and the late John J. Ranno of Florida; her son, J. Jennings Ranno of Florida; two sisters, Donna Cerasale and Deborah Corriveau; a niece, Megan Corriveau; and a nephew, Jake Corriveau, all of Florida; also her godmother, Rita (Bebe) Fritz of Connecticut; and several cousins, aunts and uncles of Connecticut.
