Chester H. Hafele of Bridgeport, husband of the late Grace Perellie Hafele, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at the Bishop Wicke Health Care Center, Shelton. The Spear, Dennis & D`Arcy Funeral Home, 2611 Main Street, Stratford, will announce arrangements.
MULLIGAN
Muriel C. Mulligan, age 83, of Bridgeport, a retired teacher`s aide for the City of Bridgeport, Board of Education, died on Saturday, June 29, 2002, at St. Vincent`s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Harry M. and Isabelle Briar Clark, and was a lifelong city resident. She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Mulligan. Survivors include a daughter, Muriel Ann Dushok and her husband, Richard, of Trumbull; two sons, George C. Mulligan and his wife, Robin, of Fairfield, and Kenneth M. Mulligan and his wife, Elizabeth, of Bridgeport; a sister, Doris Fielding and her husband, Jack, of California; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at a time to be announced from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
LIGI
Sondra J. Caston Ligi, age 66, of Milford, beloved wife of Robert R. Ligi, died Saturday, June 29, 2002, at Milford Hospital. A daughter of the late Lloyd F. and Edna Mae Doucette Caston, she was born on August 26, 1935, in Portland, Maine, and was a resident of Milford for more than 39 years. Mrs. Ligi was active in the Pumpkin Delight School PTA for many years. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ligi is survived by two sons, Robert L. Ligi and his wife, Catherine, of Cheshire, and Christopher R. Ligi and his wife, Melissa, of Derby; and two grandchildren, Michael and Rebecca Ligi. A prayer service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2002, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford. Friends may call prior to the service on Monday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, in St. Mary Church, Jessup, Pa., followed by burial in St. John`s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Jessup, Pa. WILLIAMS
Rose (Sally) Williams, age 82, of Milford, wife of the late Kenneth T. Williams, died Friday, June 28, 2002, at Milford Hospital. Daughter of the late Matthew and Geraldine Salcito, she was born on February 25, 1920, in Waterbury. She was a longtime Milford resident and was a retired waitress having worked for many years at the former Brodericks and Merwins Restaurant. Mrs. Williams was a member of St. Gabriel`s Church and was an avid duckpin bowler in the Milford duckpin league. She also enjoyed many area bingo games. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth T. Williams Jr. and his wife, Joan, and Thomas K. Williams and his wife, Deborah, all of Milford; two daughters, Jeri W. Brown and her husband, Al, of Milford, and Diana Battista of New London; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Salcito; two sisters, Louise Clementi and Jane Salcito, all of Waterbury; and one nephew. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. from the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel`s Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Mary`s Cemetery. JACOBSON
Dorothea Trumbull Jacobson, age 75, beloved wife of the late David Jacobson of Coconut Creek, Fla., formerly of Bridgeport, passed away on April 25, 2002. Dorothea was born in Bridgeport, on December 30, 1926, and was a loving and giving nurse for many years at the former Hillside Hospital in Bridgeport. She then retired to Florida with her husband, David, and lived there for the past 17 years. She is survived by her sister, Joan Garamella of Pinellas Park, Fla.; a grandson, Eric Plyler of Agawam, Mass.; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Plyler) Girard; and great-granddaughter, Ellianna Girard of Sterling Heights, Mich.; a niece, Joan Demato of Brookfield; and nephew, William Garamella of Hudson, Fla. She was also predeceased by her son, Skip Plyler. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Michael`s Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2189 Barnum Avenue, Stratford.
GAETANO
John Gaetano, age 87, formerly of Derby, died on Friday, June 28, 2002, at Hewett Memorial Hospital, Shelton, after a brief illness. Mr. Gaetano was born on November 15, 1914, in Italy, son of the late Antonio and Josephine DeMayo Gaetano. A lifelong resident of Derby, he had been employed at the U.S. Postal Service in New Haven for more than 32 years until his retirement in 1976. He was also a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a communicant of St. Mary`s Church, Derby, a member of the Derby Elks Club and the Derby Senior Center. He was also a professional musician playing the saxophone and clarinet and had played in the Glenn Miller Band for many years. His survivors include a brother, Joseph Gaetano of Derby; three sisters, Sue DiStasi and Theresa Egan, both of Ansonia, and Viola Schuld of Shelton; along with several nieces and nephews. His funeral with military honors will be held on Monday from the Spinelli-Malerba Funeral Home, 62 Beaver Street, Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary`s Church, Derby, at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Mount St. Peter`s Cemetery, Derby. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Contributions can be made to St. Mary`s Church, Elizabeth Street, Derby, or through the funeral directors.

Andrew Neal Wilkinson, age 44, beloved husband of Lorraine Ashley-Wilkinson of Trumbull, died Friday, June 28, 2002, at St. Vincent`s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Funeral services will be announced by the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road.
PODOLAK
Robert Francis Podolak, age 55, beloved son of the late Frank and Stephania Podolak, formerly of Trumbull, passed suddenly on Friday, June 28, 2002. Robert is survived by his devoted brothers, Stanley (Stas) and his wife, Linda, of Trumbull, and Myron and his wife, Judith, of the Huntington section of Shelton; and his four loving children, Jason Robert of California, Drew Christopher of Oregon, Jonathan Francis of Monroe, and his daughter, Brittany Lee, who resides with her mother, Mary Ann Olah Podolak in Monroe. Mr. Podolak is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Alessa, Gregory, Jennifer, Ryan and Natasha. His companion, Ms. Margaret Stochmal Mattei of Bethany, also survives him. Robert was born and raised in Bridgeport. A graduate of Notre Dame High School, he began his undergraduate studies at Housatonic Community College, continued to pursue a computer programming career at Sacred Heart University, and then completed his bachelor of science degree at Quinnipiac College while he worked for the General Electric Co. in Bridgeport. He was employed by the Southern New England Telephone Co. as a computer programmer since the `70s. Bob enjoyed gatherings with family and friends, and had a great love of music, especially playing the piano and singing rock classics. He also enjoyed toy trains, motorcycles and was a big movie buff. Bob truly believed in living and working hard to attain the American dream. Funeral services will be announced by the Cyril F. WILLIAMS
Loretta James-Williams, age 45, of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at St. Vincent`s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in this city, Loretta had been a lifelong resident and was educated in the city public school system. She graduated from Central High School. Loretta was currently an assistant administrator with the Bridgeport Department of Aging, where she had been for the past nine years. She was also employed for three years with the Greater Bridgeport Transit District. A disciple of Kingdom Life, Loretta leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Byron and Terrence Williams, both of Bridgeport; her father, Fred Robinson of Stratford; mother, Mary E. James of Bridgeport; two sisters, Robin James-Romero (her husband Juan) of Bridgeport, and Stephanie James of Ohio; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8 p.m. at Mt. Aery Baptist Church, 73 Frank Street, with the Rev. Dr. Anthony L. Bennett, pastor, officiating. Interment will take place on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Morton`s Mortuary Inc., 25 Margaret E. ZYSK
Nancy Carol (Sebes) Zysk, age 65, of Stratford, a retired employee of Cendant Mobility Co. in Danbury, entered into rest on Saturday, June 29, 2002, at her home. Born in Pennsylvania , on March 3, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Gara) Sebes, and was a Bridgeport and Stratford resident for most of her life. Survivors include her beloved husband, Richard S. Zysk; her loving children, Lori Moran and her husband, George, of Trumbull, Donna Smith and her husband, Donald, of Stratford, Alison Hart and her husband, Michael, of Shelton, and David Zysk and his wife, Brooke, of West Warwick, R.I.; one sister, Arlene Pruden and her husband, Samuel, of East Hartford; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Donald J. Francis C. Gromotsky, age 77, of Stratford, beloved husband of Margaret (Smiecinski) Gromotsky, died on Thursday, August 8, 2002, at his home. He was the retired owner of Gromotsky`s Corner Service Station at the corner of Barnum Avenue and Main Street, Stratford, for 26 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his seven beloved children: Kathy Raspet and her husband, John, of Maine, Michael Gromotsky of Stratford, Eileen Trojanowski and her husband, Jim, of Stratford, Diane Crawford and her husband, Art, of Milford, Paul Gromotsky and his wife, Martha, of California, Pamela Rudolph and her husband, James, of Georgia, and Barbara Gromotsky of Stratford; seven grandchildren: Lee and Eric Raspet, Jamie and Erin Trojanowski, Adam Gromotsky, and Sabrina and Brandon Rudolph; one brother, three sisters, and several nieces and nephews. BOLUCH
Theodore Boluch, age 82, beloved husband of Marguerite Alberghini Boluch, died suddenly at home on Friday, August 2, 2002. He was born in New York City to Stanley and Anna Boluch, grew up in Bridgeport, and had been a resident of Easton for the past 50 years. Ted served in the Navy during World War II. He worked at Avco Lycoming in Stratford as a toolmaker for 30 years, during which time he was involved in the construction of the heat shield for John Glenn`s Mercury 7 space capsule. An active member of Avco Lycoming`s Toolmaker`s Club, he was also a member of Avco`s Retiree Club. Prior to Avco, he worked at Max Arms and Bullards in Bridgeport. In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Rick Boluch and his wife, Merri, of Southbury; his daughter, Laura Salma and her husband, Steven, of Monroe; and his grandson, Jason Boluch of Bridgeport; two brothers, Walter Boluch of Fairfield, and Stanley Boluch of Pennsylvania ; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Saturday, August 10, 2002, at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, from 1 to 3 p.m. A prayer service will take place at 2:30 p.m. All other services will be private.
