BELL
Jeanne C. Bell, age 79, of Stratford, formerly of Bethany, beloved wife of Kenneth D. Bell, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at her home after a long illness. Born in Worcester, Mass., Mrs. Bell had been a Stratford resident for the last seven years and had lived in Bethany, Barrington, R.I., and Tenafly, N.J., prior to that. She was a graduate of the Connecticut College for Women. An accomplished miniature artisan, Mrs. Bell was a fellow of the International Guild of Miniature Artisans. She also had been a choir director and organist at St. Matthew`s Church in West Barrington, R.I. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two children: Karen J. Bell of Oakland, Calif., and K. Deane Bell Jr. and his wife, Karen, of East Haven; two brothers: Charles Edward Corby Jr. of Teaneck, N.J., and Robert Benson Corby of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandsons: Kevin, Eric and Gregory Bell; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Jerome Corby. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2001, at 1 p.m. in the Anglican Church of the Resurrection, 6 Church Street, Ansonia. RORIE
Roosevelt Rorie Jr., age 58, of Bridgeport, entered into rest Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at Anson County Hospital in Wadesboro, N.C. He was born in Wadesboro, and was the son of Nezzie Ratliff Rorie and the late Roosevelt Rorie Sr. Mr. Rorie was a resident of Bridgeport for 33 years, and was employed at Ansonia Brass Co., until his retirement. Survivors include his beloved wife of 37 years, Glinnie D. Rorie and from that union five children were born. Two sons, Anthony Rorie of Hamden and Phillip Rorie of Bridgeport; three daughters, Betty, Wanda and Margie Rorie all of Bridgeport. In addition, a daughter, Sheltia Peoples of Waterbury; a daughter-in-law, Emilia Rorie,; one brother; and six sisters; 13 grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at 8 p.m. at the Lester Gee Funeral, 1390 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment Wednesday, August 1, 2001, at 10 a.m. in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 6 p.m. until the time of service.

SCHILKOWSKI
William Schilkowski Jr., age 77, of 43 Willoughby Road, Shelton, devoted husband of 58 years to Marguerite Willoughby Schilkowski, entered into rest on Friday, July 27, 2001, at Connecticut Hospice after a long illness. He was born in Ansonia, February 23, 1924, son of the late William and Pearl Brooks Schilkowski, and had been a resident of Shelton since 1937. Bill was employed at the former Milford Rivet Co. in Milford as a machinist before retiring from the L & B Mould Work in Derby. During World War II he served in the Merchant Marine. He was the beloved father of Marguerite Thompson and her husband, Lenard, of Albany, Vt., William Schilkowski III, and his wife, Linda, of Warren, Conn., Daniel Schilkowski and his wife, Diane, of Shelton, and Frederick Schilkowski and his wife, Debra of Washington . He is also survived by 12 loving grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Oftedal; and a sister, Muriel Steller. His funeral will be on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Karen Nappo officiating in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. William Joseph Moffet, age 73, of West Irma Lane, Peoria, Ariz., formerly of Beaverbrook Road, Milford, died Sunday, July 15, 2001, in his home. Mr. Moffet is a past commander of American Legion Post 34, a member of Ansantawae Lodge 89 AF and AM, VFW Post 7798, president of the World War II Monument Committee, and an active member of Christ the Redeemer Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian Fox Moffet of Arizona; daughter, Gail Moffet of Scottsdale, Ariz.; son, Gary Moffet of Milford; brothers, Robert Moffet of Jacksonville, Fla., Fredrick Moffet of Milford; and sister, Mildred Glynn of Huntington. Primoris Joseph died in this city on Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Bridgeport Hospital. He was born on November 1, 1954, in Haiti, to the late Alsemor and Gesilia Joseph. Mr. Joseph was employed with Teddy`s Limousine Co. and the Yellow Cab Co. Two sons, Maurice Joseph of Haiti, and Joveneo Joseph of Bridgeport; one daughter, Evelyn Joseph of Palm Beach, Fla.; and one sister, Elia Paul of Haiti, survive him. A funeral service will be held on Monday (tomorrow) at 11 a.m. in the Betty M. Lorde Funeral Service, 1332 North Avenue, Bridgeport. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service. Maryan Brainard Mansfield, age 91, a resident of Fairfield and retired registered nurse, died in her home on Thursday, July 26, 2001. Born in Waterbury, Maryan was predeceased by her husband, Edward Wilson Mansfield. Both Mr. and Mrs. Mansfield were longtime Fairfield residents actively involved in the Democratic Party and Mr. Mansfield served as a state representative in Hartford. Mr. Mansfield was a recognized local tennis champion during the 1940s and a graduate of Yale University. Mrs. Mansfield remained active in the Yale Alumni Club. Mrs. Mansfield served as committee member and chairperson for various Democratic Party Committees, North Stratfield Building Committee chairperson, Fairfield Woods Branch Library Building Committee member and served as Fairfield registrar of voters. Before retirement, Mrs. Mansfield worked at Remington Arms and Bridgeport Hospital. She was a graduate of Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. She is survived by her nieces, Patricia Kelly Schultz of Springfield, Pa., Kate Kelly Antonucci of Easton, Mary Kelly Gall of Shelton, Margaret Kelly Maresco of Trumbull; grandniece, Amber Stone of California; a god-daughter, Cam Chase of Illinois and several friends. Miss Anna M. Dolny of Bridgeport, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2001, at St. Vincent`s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late George and Anna Sabol Dolny, Ann was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1944, and became a registered pharmacist. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Adamchak and her husband, Andrew, of Bridgeport; her brother, Joseph S. Dolny and his wife, Fran, of Easton; and several nieces and nephews, all of who affectionately referred to Ann as "Nini-Do"; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12:30 p.m. in the Frank Polke & Son Funeral Home, 1546 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport. Burial to follow in St. Michael`s Cemetery. MALLOZZI
Leroy E. Mallozzi, age 65, of Milford, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Mr. Mallozzi was born on January 15, 1936, in Stamford, son of the late Ernest and Olympia Mallozzi. He resided in Stamford and Easton before moving to Milford for the last year of his life. He graduated from Stamford High School and worked at C & L Precision. He retired from Hartley and Parker with 30 years of service. He was a member and past president of the Italian Center Men`s Club. Survivors include his wife, Karlene Wood; his daughter, Katrina Olympia Mallozzi of Milford; three brothers, Orlando and William of Stamford, Raymond of Milford; two sisters, Bendetta La Rocco and Yolanda Bisallion, both of Stamford; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Ernest and Joseph; and his sister, Carmella Verrico. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford, at 10 a.m. Interment will be private in the family plot, St. John`s Cemetery, Darien. Anna Simko Skirkanich, age 82, of Stratford, died on Friday, July 27, 2001, at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Stratford, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Skirkanich was a member of the Mothers and Daughters Club and Seniors of St. John`s Church. She was also a member of the Baldwin Center Seniors and the Orthodox Council of Women. She was the widow of Michael Skirkanich, and is survived by two sons, William Skirkanich of Reston, Va., and Robert Skirkanich and his wife, Kathleen, of East Northport, L.I.; a daughter, Suzanne Mulready and her husband, Raymond, of Scotsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Kranak of Stratford; five grandchildren, Laurie Harrison of Paris, France, Beth Skirkanich of Washington , D.C., Jennifer Skirkanich of East Northport, L.I., Stephen Skirkanich and his wife, Sue Ellen, of Asburn, Va., and Gregory Skirkanich of Reston, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Melissa, Michael and Megan Skirkanich; and several nieces and nephews. Rita A. Kanuch, age 65, of Stratford, died on Saturday, July 28, 2001, at St. Vincent`s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Bridgeport to the late Francis J. and Anna E. Senko Kanuch, she was a resident of Stratford for 53 years. Rita retired in 1991 as partner at Merit Insurance Co. Inc., and in recent years helped volunteer at the Kennedy Center and was a member/organizer of St. Patrick`s Scholarship Fund and was associated with the School Sisters of Notre Dame. She was also a member of the Ladies Guild at Holy Name of Jesus Church. Survivors include her beloved brother, Ronald F. Kanuch and his wife, Susan, of Stratford; a sister, Phyllis Kanuch of Stratford; a nephew, Robert Kanuch and his wife, Stephanie, of the Huntington section of Shelton; a niece, Christine Kanuch of Beacon Falls; an aunt, Mary Senko of Stratford; and several cousins.
